My niece will make a lot of my running possible this summer. I’m very thankful for her because my kids adore her and she is always excited to come over and babysit.
I met up with Emilee for 6.14 miles @ an 8:19 pace. Her marathon is on Saturday, and I cannot wait to see what she does! I’ll finish the 10k and then be able to cheer on all of my friends racing the half-marathon and full-marathon. It’s going to feel like a party!
PS it is just crazy to me that I’ve been blogging since the above niece was this age!
We’ve been introducing more solids into Beck’s eating (he is in love with eggs), and it is helping him to sleep so much longer at night. He slept 12 hours straight wahoo.
All of the summer activities are starting up over here! The girls were very excited to make popsicles yesterday. We have these popsicle molds, and we love them!
Skye is so happy to have Brooke home all day now.
We spent a lot of time outside too.
I was very excited to recreate a sandwich that I had in St. George from Crimson Corner Cafe. Sourdough bread, bacon, guacamole, Colby-jack cheese, and a tomato on the panini maker.
The key to a good grilled cheese is melting the cheese a bit on the bread in the microwave before grilling it. We added the other toppings after we microwaved the cheese on the bread.
Not pretty but SO ridiculously good.
Finished off the night with a walk with Andrew.
I couldn’t stop thinking about the St. George Marathon when we were there this last weekend. As much as I would love to marathon train this summer, it just doesn’t feel like the right time, BUT I am thrilled to run their mini-marathon (13.1 miles)! It’s the first year they are doing a half on the same day as the marathon!
I. Am. So. Excited.
I love summer with all of my heart, BUT I also love having some sort of schedule at home with all of my heart, ha. Andrew and I are trying to figure out the schedule that works for our family, and I’d love to hear what other parents are doing with their kids during this time of year.
So far, we have this schedule for the kids before we play with friends or go out and do things. For the math portion Skye will just color.
Does your schedule change at all in the summer? What is your schedule looking like these days?
Any other grilled cheese or panini additions/toppings recommendations?
Have a favorite brand/flavor of popsicle? What about homemade popsicle favorites?
Have any nieces and nephews? How many?
