The birthday celebrating has begun and I’m pretty excited about that. Andrew was able to get this weekend off from work which will be his first full weekend off in a long time… we cannot wait.
The day started out with a run in my favorite canyon.
We finished at Kneaders to get some hot chocolate but their machine was broken so we had frozen hot chocolate instead. It basically tasted like a milkshake ha and it produced some purple lips (see top picture) from being frozen.
After school we took the kids to an empty parking lot to get in as much rollerblading/skateboarding/biking as possible.
There were no tears shed the entire time from anybody so we are calling that a major success.
We went the simplicity route last night for dinner and made our favorite breakfast foods.
An update on Skye’s eye… poor girl! She says it doesn’t hurt but it makes me want to cry every time I look at it.
I noticed that my milk was dropping now that Beck sleeps such long stretches at night. I started pumping in the middle of the night and that is seeming to help. Anybody else have this happen to them? I’d love to hear about what you did! Setting an alarm for 2 a.m. is sure fun;)
Oh and don’t be too jealous of my hair fluffing out of my eye mask, I can’t sleep without my eye mask. This one is so soft and cushioned. I have two of them because I worry if I lose one I won’t be able to sleep ha. I am very serious about sleeping.
Just a few of my favorite things today!
*I don’t know how to talk about this book in a way that will communicate how much I love it. I am only half way through but I want to buy a copy of this for every single person I know that has struggled/struggles with body image issues. I have read/watched a lot of things on this topic and this is by far the best resource I have found. I am so glad I am reading it now so that I can use the things I’m learning in here as I teach my kids these important lessons.
*Forgive me because I don’t remember who told me this in the comments the other day but I tried it and it helped me so much. They told me to set a timer for when I have a task that I just do not want to do and it works. Going into the task knowing I am going to stop when the timer goes off makes it so much easier to start for me. THANK YOU for the help.
*I’m not sure if I have talked about this on the blog yet but if you haven’t watched Ryan Hall’s documentary, it is free here if you have Amazon Prime. I loved watching his running journey and now I need them to do one on his wife:). Here is the trailer for it:
*I’ve had these pjs for a few months now but forgot to tell you about them… and if your questioning another pajama purchase to me, just remember I am in pajamas for 40% of my life (I get in pjs rather early each night ha). These are from Target and they feel just like my Nordstrom ones but they are half the price. They are so soft, they wash SO well and make life so comfortable. I’ve hooked my girls on an obsession with pajamas already too so this is going to get expensive over the years ha. PS these are my favorite Amazon PJs… so soft.
What are you looking forward to this weekend?
Are you a fan of pajama sets? Have a favorite set?
What was your last injury? (Skye’s eye made me think of this question)
Do you crave more salty things or more sweet things? Would you rather have something salty or sweet right this second?
