Hydroflask with the straw top that you buy separately! Have you heard of platypus bottles? I love those too, they’re like a pouch– really easy to carry around in purses. And I feel like it’s a lot easier to drink from them. Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving without sweet potato casserole with marshmallows!

Reply

Off to look up the Platypus bottles, they sound awesome! I cannot wait for the sweet potato casserole. Have the best day Mollie!

Hubby always wants cranberry from a can….it reminds him of growing up. Sad thing is, what use to make me think he was crazy has now become something I look forward to too.

Oh, and that water bottle questions….I will never buy any bottle with a straw. Nope, can’t do it. I just think they get so germy and not completely clean. I really don’t like to use straws period.

Reply

And now I can never look at my straw the same way again hahah….
I love cranberries from a can too, you guys are not alone. I hope you have a really great day Kathy!

I was using a simple modern cup for a long time, but it was pretty old and beat up. Just switched to one of the big cups from Starbucks and I like it! I generally prefer cups with straws rather than actual water bottles.
Iowa has gone off the rails with COVID cases, so I’m back to working from home again – so I guess my sentence for the day is “try not to lose your mind stuck inside!” :) We’ll take the dog for a walk over lunch and go for a run after work, so at least some outside time will help!
Thanksgiving MUST have mashed potatoes (regular white potatoes) and turkey gravy. And stuffing!
I hope you guys are staying well and enjoying the new family dynamic! :)

Rhiannon! I am so sorry about what is going on in Iowa and I hope you are doing okay. That time outside is SO necessary and I’m glad you guys can get out today! Enjoy all of the mashed potatoes this month. Thank you!

My stepdads must is hashbrown casserole (I believe you call them funeral potatoes)

I had to really think about this one, and decided the one thing I can’t live without on Thanksgiving is pumpkin pie!
i’m sure you’ve noticed this too in these pictures, but Skye is looking SO BIG these days!!!

Oh man… Thanksgiving must have… I would say I have a couple. My aunt makes a sweet potato casserole that’s practically like dessert, we all love in the bird stuffing, and mashed potatoes. This year will be just us, no big family gathering, but I will definitely be making all the must haves!
Have a great Wednesday!

Most definitely brownies!!! I’ll take them over any other dessert ever.

Thanksgiving essential: Turkey. Not because it is my favorite, but if you take away the turkey then I feel you might as well go rogue with the whole menu.

Reply

I 100% agree and it is the perfect vehicle for me to get in my cranberries haha. Have a beautiful day Erica!

I have an insulated stainless steel Klean Kanteen water bottle that I have had for about 8 years. I use it with the leakproof cafe cap lid. It doesn’t retain flavor so I use it for hot coffee in the morning then rinse it out and add ice and water for the rest of the day. It keeps hot hot and cold cold. It doesn’t sweat so it is never slippery to hold. It has even survived being thrown from the roof of my car (I once forgot it was on top and drove off- haha) and so many drops. I throw it in my fanciest purse (a Longchamp le pliage backpack) and it does not ever leak. Clearly, I am very attached to it.

8 years and leakproof cap?! That is amazing! I need to check out Klean Kanteen… thanks for sharing Nadya and I hope you have a great day!

I want to thank you for the jogger pant recommendation. I got mine yesterday and I love them! Ordering another pair now.
I’ve also gotten two pairs of the leggings with the pocket on the side, they’re great!

Thanksgiving isn’t a big day for my family but the must-have are roasted potatoes based on my Grandma’s recipe.

Tervis bottle with a straw when at home. Contigo bottle when on the go.

Oh this makes me so happy! Those joggers are the best and so cheap. I need to try those roasted potatoes! Have a fabulous day Samantha!

Stuffing and cranberry sauce!

I’ve been using a Thermos lately. Of course it’s just as likely to have coffee in it ;)

Sentence for the day: Just call me “weather stalker.” We are driving to Flagstaff next week and I’m so excited to see those cold temps!

Is turkey too obvious?? I love all the side dishes. And pie!

There is no way I can choose a favorite baked good! As a baker, that would be like choosing a favorite child. When I go into full on Christmas baking mode, I have a really tough time narrowing down what to bake!

Reply

Hey Kathy! I hope you guys have the best time in Flagstaff and enjoy the cool temps! Hahah your last paragraph made me so happy! Wish I could come over for your baking:) have a great day!

Hi Janae! I use a hydro flask now but I used to use nalgene. I remember when I first started running I used to carry an entire nalgene bottle with me along with my jangly car keys when I would go on group runs.. it’s a wonder they didn’t kick me out of the running club. Best part of Thanksgiving is the stuffing! Happy Wednesday!!

Reply

Brownie… preferably with ice cream!
I use a hydroflask with straw lid. But I’ve noticed it isn’t keeping water cold anymore. Probably the drops I’ve had with it. Has that happened to you?

Only Thanksgiving Essential is a run that morning ?. My family isn’t too into turkey (and I’m vegetarian so I don’t care) so we usually try to come up with some other fun/fancy meal. Although we still have pumpkin pie for dessert.

Reply

Haha, that has definitely happened with my water before! Once, I woke up to see my cat drinking from my cup of water so a lid and straw are an absolute must now.

Thanksgiving essential: stuffing.

I recently made pumpkin bars and they are just the best ever.

I have a variety of water bottles–a s’well that my brother got me for Christmas last year, one from amazon that a fellow Les Mills instructor friend got me as a birthday gift, and my tried and true purple Nalgene that I have had for 6+ years. Somehow, my Nalgene is my favorite. But I dearly love them all–especially the other two because they’re gifts from people who mean the world to me.

As for baked goods–ALL OF THEM PLEASE! Except maybe not peach cobbler (or pie) and not strawberry rhubarb pie. I definitely inherited my maternal grandmother’s DEEP AND VAST sweet tooth. And NOTHING will ever really taste as good as her apple pie, or pastries we would make together with pie crust scraps and her raspberry jam, OR…for a plot twist…box mix brownies with walnuts added in from my early childhood when I would bake with my mom and she was teaching me how to cook ‘like a proper Greek woman’ by having me make meatloaf and brownies over and over again.

My grandmother (the Greek word is ‘yiayia’) would also ALWAYS make her peanut butter cookies with enormous hersheys kisses plopped in the middle every Christmas, and right now I would do pretty much anything for one…or five…of those.

Best strength training ever! ?

That ? looks so yummy I’m gonna have to whip some up. It’ll be perfect with the grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve been craving! ?

Must be something in the air because I’m craving cookies like crazy. Giant soft chocolate CHUNK cookies with lots of chocolate mmmmm ?

I love my Nalgene water bottle for around the house. I have the one quart size and aim to drink four a day! I ❤️ the narrow mouth opening! ?

Hey now Andrew- I cannot choose one essential it’s too much pressure! I’m going to assume dessert is a given in this scenario. I’d have to saw I LOVE stuffing and mashed potatoes with gravy and some kind of bread. What are your essentials- both of you!? ? ?

Cookies and cupcakes are tied for me. Sometimes I just NEED some yummy frosting. With cake I hey a little too concerned with which piece I want ?

As a brand new Mom at the hospital I spilt my entire big cup of ice water over me and the only pajamas I brought.

Sleep deprivation is a form of torture for a reason ;). I still am traumatized by it from the newborn days and am too afraid to have another because of it.

Reply

Hi Janae! I love Skye’s sweatshirt – would you share where you got it? I also love her Wild Child tee. My youngest needs both of these! Love keeping up with you and your family!

Reply

I am still using the water bottle the hospital gave me in May…it is sooo big! Otherwise, I love my Healthy Human water bottle.
I can’t have Thanksgiving without stuffing (I like the boxed stuffing!). Even when I had my baby on Thanksgiving a couple years ago, I still had stuffing the day I got home from the hospital :)
Btw, your cookie looks delicious.
