Friday Favorites!!

Yesterday I got to run with one of my best friends that is in town.  She and I used to live together in college and we would run to her parents’ house from our apartment (her mom always fed us so well:) so it definitely brought back memories meeting at her parents’ house for a run.

6.89 miles @ 9:41 average pace…  I didn’t look at my watch so I didn’t see how far we had gone but if I did, I would have had us go another .11 miles ha.

I got home and then it was off to take Brooke to tennis lessons.  They have another round in July of tennis lessons and Brooke asked if she could do that round too so I think she is getting hooked.

She had a great cheering crowd too.  PS my niece gave Skye that little reindeer and she won’t let it go.

Random story but I woke up on Thursday and could smell a skunk so so bad… Andrew couldn’t smell a thing so I assumed it was a weird pregnancy thing.  My neighbor texted me a little bit later saying that she could smell a skunk and her husband couldn’t so she was wondering if we could.  Do women have a better sense of smell (I guess I could google the answer)?

Then we went to the pool and when a woman walked by carrying fries, I knew I had to have fries. They gave us fry sauce (ketchup + mayo mixed) to go with the fries but Skye decided that she should dip her chips into the fry sauce so she did…

And the only other picture (and it’s not a good one ha) I have is from the day  when Skye asked Andrew for ‘crushy ice’ in her water bottle and we both laughed so hard.  Skye is very particular about things and I think she got that from me;)

I have some favorite things to share with you this week!

*I wanted another pair of really comfortable and supportive sandals for this summer (a runner’s need!!) but didn’t want to spend $100 on them.  I read the reviews on these ones ($25) and ordered them and the reviews were right.  I can’t believe how comfortable they are and how much support they offer (more than my expensive pairs).  They have a lot of colors to choose from and they fit true to size.  My feet cannot handle flip flops anymore without hurting so these are the perfect solution.

*My favorite podcast episode from the week was this one with Ali and Courtney Carter!

*I’m trying to help my kids to really keep up with their reading this summer so we are going to the library often and I just bought these Weird but True books.  They keep my kids SO interested and I love reading them with them.  When my nieces and nephews come over I find them picking up the books and going through them on the couch too.

*I’ve tested a few different types of popsicle mold sets and this one takes the lead for me.  They are so easy to use, they come with a funnel and the popsicles come out easily.  I usually just make a smoothie and they come out perfect.

*My sister told us to start this show and we listened.  It is SO good and we have watched way too many episodes this week already.

*Slowly but surely I’m going to be adding more pieces of equipment for our at-home gym.  It’s hard to find anything online right now so I got them at our sporting goods store.  So far so good and I’m really loving the med ball to change things up with strength.
