Some News to Tell You!

We are all so excited to share something with you…

I’m 15 weeks pregnant! (I was so excited to buy this tank:)

I’ll be sharing more information on HRG BABY with this pregnancy but for a quick little summary now:

*Andrew and I feel so beyond blessed to get the chance to add another one to our crew.  There were a lot of years that I dreamed about having more babies before meeting Andrew and I just feel very lucky.

*The morning sickness is just starting to chill out (luckily, homeschooling started just about the same time that the morning sickness started ha).   My morning sickness usually started around 11 am and lasted until I fell asleep each day which meant I was able to get things done in the morning but then I was on my couch for 99% of the rest of the day.

*Running is going great!  I’ve slowed down, I take more walk breaks and I’m just thankful that running makes me feel more like myself during this time.

*I’ve been having the most random food aversions and cravings (I did have to google one day if it was possible to overdose on oranges).  I hope there is a day in the near future where I like water again ha.

*Knox is praying daily that it is a boy, Brooke is hoping she gets another sister, Andrew and I think it is a boy and…

*Skye refuses to believe the news and tells us that SHE is the baby.

Congratulations!! I am 20 weeks pregnant and yesterday I went through all your old HRG baby posts you wrote while pregnant with Skye- it was so nice to see what I’m going through is normal with running, eating, etc! This is my first, so it’s all new ?. Thank you for all you share!

Reply

Congratulations!!! I hope it’s a brother for Knox:) though once you see a sweet baby you don’t care what the gender is!

Reply

Congratulations! Such a blessing! I had more aversions than cravings during both of my pregnancies. I couldn’t touch pork during either and for my son tomato sauce was off the table and for my daughter it was anything with mayo.

Reply

I think I commented the same thing when you were pregnant with Skye but water is the worst to me when I’m pregnant. The only way I can drink it is if it’s ice cold. During my third pregnancy I finally realized the importance of protein. Eating a TON of protein makes me feel slightly more human. I couldn’t eat at Chipotle during my second pregnancy. That was disappointing. This time it was Cafe Zupas. I still don’t want to go there and the baby is 9 months old!

Congrats!

Oh my goodness! Congratulations!
15 weeks means (s)he isn’t a pandemic baby, but will be forever revered to as such. Wow! Four! After your brother this will be nothing, right?

I am of no use to you because I live to eat everything all the time and that did not change a bit with pregnancy. Or afterward!

This weekend we went out on our boat for the first time this season and had a great time! We skipped last year altogether because I was campaigning for office = no free time. It was super fun and we didn’t forget anything! Well, we forgot to roll the window of the truck back up but my hubby noticed, pulled back to shore and I hopped out and fixed the situation. Wet shorts = worth it!

I cannot wait to follow your journey to (another)motherhood!

Super huge congratulations to you! How exciting ♥️??❤️

Reply

Congratulations! I was wondering that this was going to happen :) After everything with the Olympic Trials, I was like “wait, she wants to have more babies”. Morning sickness sucks but glad you are still able to get out on your runs. I can’t imagine feeling like that and having to home school as well! I hope the 2nd trimester has you feeling much better!

Reply

AHHHHHHHHHHHH AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’re going to have such a fun house.

Reply

YAYYY! (I was secretly wondering if you were haha). I’m so happy for you! But so sorry about the morning sickness! I feel for you, it’s the worst.
Cravings and aversions were so intense for me! I NEEDED apple pie all the time when I was pregnant with my first. It was so random.
Congratulations!!!!!! So happy to hear good news. :)

Reply

Congratulations!!

I hated water when I was pregnant and couldn’t eat chocolate or sweets…I definitely made up for that in the first few months afterwards though!

Reply

Congratulations! It’s wonderful to read some happy news this morning!

Reply

Congratulations to you and your beautiful family. I am so happy for you! Seriously shedding tears of joy for you!
My aversion was browning beef. I could not bear it!
My good news and best part of the weekend was my son’s graduation from college. Of course there was no official ceremony but we made some lasting memories regardless.

Reply

Oh my goodness congrats!!!!

Reply

Yay congratulations Janae!! You always said you wanted more kids so I was wondering when you’d have another ;) hahahaha. So happy for you guys!

Reply

Congratulations!! I loved following about Skye’s pregnancy (and rereading it during mine) so I’m excited to follow along again! Honestly, you’ve taught me a lot about motherhood and given me confidence that I can take care of my family and also myself so keep it up!
My fun weekend news is that my little girl (4 month old) slept 10 hours Saturday to Sunday night and then rolled over while we visited her Grandma! So many firsts, it made me kinda sad that she is growing up but I know it’s good for her.

Reply

Congratulations ??? so exciting!!!! I hope the morning sickness is fully gone now.

Reply

You just made my day!!!! I will send up some prayers for a safe pregnancy and healthy baby!!!!!

Reply

Oh, I’m so happy! you’re family brings so much joy to my life so I’m genuinly happy there will be more of you! I’ve been a follower for a long time (before Brooke was born) and I feel you and running are two most long lasting ‘passions’.
Can’t wait for pregnancy updates and most of all what food cravings you’ll have this time!

Reply

Congratulations!! So happy for you guys!
Best part of my weekend – Zoom call with my mom, brother and sister.

Reply

Congratulations! Thrilled for your family. The world will be a better place filled with happy thoughtful loving little ones just like you. ❣️??

Reply

Yeah!!!! Congratulations to you and your family!!! ???

Reply

Congratulations! I also craved oranges when I was pregnant for my son. Maybe you’ll have a boy too!!

Reply

Congratulations!!! You should ask Skye whether it’s a boy or girl before the 20 week US. I asked my son and he consistently said girl and he was right and the tech said that she’s noticed toddlers are always right! Weird!

Reply

Congratulations!! So excited and happy for you!! Since you’re not liking water right now, have you ever tried Ultima Refresher? It’s sugar and caffeine free. An avid hot yoga friend recommended it to me a couple of years ago. I’m hooked. I can’t run without it in the NC humidity now. Just an idea. :)

Reply

Congratulations!! My mouth literally dropped open when I read the news. I’m so happy for all of you! As someone who suffered through morning sickness, I’m glad to read that yours is subsiding. Wow – I’m still so surprised! :D

Reply

WOW!!! CONGRATULATIONS! So happy for you and your family–this is just the best news. I’m so excited for you all!

Congrats!!!!! I am so excited for your growing family!!

Reply

So BEYOND excited for you and your sweet family, Janae!!!! I am 34 weeks pregnant with my first (a boy!) and am seriously counting down the days!! I am a teacher, so this remote teaching has been nice in some ways, but also exhausting sitting in front of a computer for hours at a time. My stomach muscles can’t handle that much sitting anymore hahaha.

So lucky to still be running (100% of the time on the treadmill, because bathroom breaks!). I had aversions in the first trimester to basically any vegetable and red meat, ugh! I also ate a lot of McFlurries and sweets in those weeks, haha. Whatever gets you through! So glad you are starting to feel better. Sending my love from NH!

Reply

Congratulations!

Reply

Congratulations! What a blessing! So excited to follow along!

Reply

Congrats, Janae and family!!! So happy for you! Best part of my weekend was my lil girl climbing over me again and again, she’s getting very mobile!
I had aversions to meat. I’d be cooking up ground turkey for tacos and couldn’t not eat any of it! I hope you’re feeling better soon! Thinking about you mucho!❤️

Reply

Ahhhhh congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!! That is amazing news!!! With my first I would eat a box of eggo waffles a day. No idea why but that’s all I wanted. With my second I was eating at least half of a watermelon a day! Enjoy those oranges!!!

Reply

Oh my gosh CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so happy for you guys!!! Sending you virtual hugs!

Reply

Congratulations! Amazing news! As a CFer, when my body hates the taste of water, it means that my electrolytes are off (especially that I need more salt). If you crave salty things (like popcorn) it could be another sign. Hope you start feeling better soon!

Reply

What exciting news!!! Congratulations, Janae!! Praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy.

Reply

Yea!!! I’ve been waiting to hear you were pregnant! Since CIM didn’t go as planned, I wondered if you’d try to get pregnant. So happy for but I’m sure it’s been hard getting pregnant right when all this virus is going on. Can’t wait to follow along your journey.

Congrats Janae! I bet the kids are over the moon, and I’m sure by the time the baby comes, Skye will love having someone to show the ropes to (aka boss around, hah). Glad you’re feeling well so far and so much luck with this next trimester!!

Reply

Congrats!!! What exciting news!! Love Skye’s reaction haha, she’s the baby. Luckily she has such sweet relationships with Brooke and Knox and can learn how to be an older sister by watching them!

Reply

So exciting!!! Congratulations!!!! <3 =D

Reply

Aaahhhh… This is so exciting!! Congratulations! It will be so fun to follow along again ?
Pregnancy seems so long ago for me (youngest is almost 16)… But I do remember craving bacon and grilled cheese with bacon with both of my boys. And I had a bad aversion to tomato sauces. But I was lucky and skipped the morning sickness with both.
I am so happy for you and Andrew ❤️

Reply

Congratulations! You have a such a wonderful, joyful reason to skip racing this year and enjoy relaxing with your family and all of the easy runs you feel like.

Reply

Congratulations!!! That’s so exciting!

I’m also pregnant now (28 weeks). Starting to slow down A LOT recently lol. But so thankful that I can still get outside and run! (Well, more like run-walk at this point :-p) It’s definitely a weird time to be pregnant, and it’s so nice to at least have consistency with running.

I had a terrible aversion to chocolate during the first trimester, it was so sad! Thankfully I got over it by the second trimester. The past couple weeks all I want to eat is pickled jalapeños (hey, it’s a vegetable!).

Reply

Congrats! Praying for a healthy baby and mom! I’m 33 weeks pregnant. Its a boy and I ate oranges everyday at the beginning. I also drink large amounts of orange juice!

Reply

BEST NEWS!! Congratulations and all the best for your pregnancy. :)

Reply

I KNEW IT!!!!! It was just a weird hunch a little while back. A bigger smile. Or a glow or something. I could just tell. Congrats!!!!!

Reply

Congratulations! Such a blessing! I had more aversions than cravings for both of my pregnancies. I couldn’t touch pork for both and for my son, tomato sauce was off the table and for my daughter it was anything with mayo. I think once Skye meets the new little one, she’ll be excited to be a helper ❤️

Reply

So freaking excited for you Janae!! So another December baby?? Just the best thing in the whole world! And i feel you on the water thing…. i drank so much juice my first 15 weeks. Do what you gotta do. Hugs friend!

Reply

Congratulations!!! This is amazing news!

Reply

Congratulations!!!

Also, love the tank top!

Reply

Congratulations! I usually drink room temp or just chilled water, but when pregnant it had to have ALL THE ICE to force myself to drink it. With my first I craved cheese all the time and wanted nothing to do with vegetables. With my second I developed a crazy sweet tooth that still hasn’t gone away (and she’s the same age as Skye…)

Reply

I think it’s a baby boy. I was all oranges all the time with my boy. Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy. One time when I was pregnant with my middle (the boy), we had to show our daycare provider how to use an (expired) epi pen and we used one of my oranges to practice and I was so sad.

Reply

I knew it! Congratulations!! I am 17 weeks with my 3rd. I have two girls and I started following you when I was pregnant with my first, she is one month younger than Brooke! I am still run/walking, and I would love to hear more about your pregnancy and fitness throughout. God bless you!

Congratulations, Janae!!! What amazing news for a rainy Monday :) I am so so happy for you!!!

Reply

Yay! I am so excited for y’all! Massive congratulations! I am also 15 weeks pregnant as of today! We found out we’re having a little girl, due Nov 9. It’s our first kid and the morning sickness was debilitating in the first tri! I didn’t use my peloton for 7 weeks. So impressive you’re continuing to run, and including speed work at that!

Reply

Over the moon thrilled for you!
Thanks for bringing us along on your journey.

Reply

Congratulations!! How exciting! I was just wondering if you were going to add to your family! Every pregnancy is so unique…I had 6 full-term blessings and we always knew what a special gift each one was! Best wishes!

Reply

Congratulations!! Best of news!! You can’t OD on oranges, or I would have. That and roast beef were my cravings with my first child. I ate grove after grove of oranges and roast beef sandwiches. Second child was potatoes, any kind, shape or form. So happy for you and Andrew and the kids!!!

Reply

Congrats!!! Very exciting for you and your family! My first baby just turned 7 months old and during pregnancy I would go back and re-read your Skye pregnancy posts frequently…and now I go back and read your monthly Skye updates from her first year! I did not have any big aversions or cravings, but also suffered from morning sickness in my first trimester (the worst! Glad it’s getting better for you!). Sometimes the only thing that made me feel better was water with cucumber and lemon, since similar to you the idea of plain water made me feel even sicker. Wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy!

Reply

Congratulations!!! So excited for you!!

Reply

So excited for you congratulations! I haven’t commented in a while on here. I know we talked about how you need to come down here to Texas to run in some humidity lol. I am
10 days post op from hip labral tear surgery so I actually haven’t run since Feb 8!!!! It’s all good, it will be worth it in the end. But I did sign up for the Walt Disney World Dopey challenge for Jan 2021!!!! Nothing holding me back.
I’m so excited for this next baby and I hope it’s a boy too!! Lots of love and hugs xoxox

Congrats Janae, Andrew and family! I love that tank top too!

Reply

Yay! Reading your news is a great way to start my day! I’m so excited for your family!

Reply

I am sooo thrilled for you Janae! I have read your blog since day one and love hearing about your life and your sweet family. I was out running this morning and thinking of your blog. And I know you have said you wanted to have more babies and since you can’t do races right now I was thinking “I hope she is pregnant right now! Maybe she is!” How amazing! (Also sorry if that is weird haha). I am a new mum to a sweet baby boy (six months today!) and I can’t wait to hear about your pregnancy and new little one!

Reply

Congrats!!! So excited for all of you!! I was wondering if that might be the case after you were done training for CIM. I didn’t have much cravings or aversions thankfully nor any morning sickness, but that probably means that whenever we have baby #2 I’m going to have all of that while also dealing with a toddler haha. Good luck with everything!!

Reply

Congratulations!!! I’m looking forward to following along as new baby arrives :)

Good news in our world — after waiting more than a year sinc ehis adoption and having some very scary legal issues/court hearings with his bio-parents, our son’s adoption should *finally* be legalized soon!!

Reply

Congratulations! Happy for you all.

Congratulations!!! That is amazing news!!!

Reply

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is so exciting for you!! I am 13 weeks with my first and the all-day-sickness struggle has been real. I’m so impressed that you’ve been able to get out for your runs – with the best will in the world, there were whole weeks that went by and I just couldn’t get myself out of the door :( it made me so sad. But I’m feeling a bit better now and starting to enjoy my runs in empty central London! I’ve never been a good water drinker but we have this concentrated cordial stuff that you water down called squash that is normally my crutch, but I haven’t been able to go near it so my hydration has taken a major nose dive.
Super excited to follow along with your pregnancy!

Reply

Wowza, it’s so nice to read happy news for a change! Congratulations to you and your family for this amazing blessing come true!

Reply

Congratulations!!! I’m so happy for your family.
I was obsessed with citrus too during my third pregnancy (girl) and I ended up getting a few canker sore. I told my dentist how many oranges/lemon water I was drinking he said it was from all the citrus ☺️??
Best part of my weekend was finally being nice enough to grill and kids play in the yard. It definitely helped all of our moods.

Hip hip hooraying from Idaho!

CONGRATS JANAE AND FAMILY!!

I can’t wait to follow along with you and HRG Baby! I’m also looking forward to your recommendations on maternity running clothing. I’m also pregnant and continuing to run. It’s funny because my daughter is only 2 months older than Skye and now babies will be about the same age :)

Reply

I AM 15 WEEKS TOO!!! What is your due date? My 3 year old little boy thinks it’s a girl. I was pretty blah/nauseous from 6-12 weeks and laid on the couch a ton. It was hard, I am very much a busybody and love to get out and do fun things. I feel like I have smell aversions now the most. Back then it was anything where the taste of the food stayed in my mouth. I have craved turkey sandwiches a ton, cheese, yogurt, and grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup!

Reply

Congratulations!!! What wonderful news!!!

Reply

Yay so excited for you guys!! That is really great news :) Congrats!

My good news pales in comparison but as of today I’m 1 min away from breaking my 10 mile record! And my friend and I are planning on doing a 50k on our own sometime this fall on local favorite trails! I’m super excited to start training again.
With my first pregnancy, I got nauseous when I smelled coffee and only wanted to eat Kraft Mac & Cheese and salads for lunch. With my second pregnancy, I couldn’t stand the sight of any vegetables!
Have a great day!!

Reply

Reply

Congrats! You’re one week ahead of me. I have had “all day” sickness too, but luckily it seems to finally be getting better. Oranges are THE BEST right now.

Reply

Eeek! That is so exciting congratulations! What is your due date?! Mine is November 11 but we haven’t announced yet… ;) But I feel like yours is around the same time! Wishing you all the best!

Reply

Such happy news!!! Congratulations! I’m thrilled for you and your cute family! I hope the morning (ie all day ?) sickness keeps getting better for you, it’s tough trying to take care of 3 other kids when feeling so crummy! I had a lot of food cravings and aversions with each of my pregnancies…with my first I craved Asiago cheese bagels with salmon cream cheese and ate them non stop, haha. My biggest craving with my fourth was refried beans topped with salsa and avacado and then scoop it up with the hint of lime tortilla chips. It’s actually delicious and I still eat it every so often. :) Plenty of foods made me sick but the only food I still can’t stomach is pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. My first pregnancy ruined them me and even 11 years later, they still sound gross.

Reply

Congratulations Janae and Andrew!!! So happy for you two ❤️

Reply

Congratulations!! I knew it – the minute you said something about cottage cheese and grapes :-) I had a feeling!!

Congrats!! That is the best news :). So exciting you guys are going to have a full house ?. And the tank is awesome.

Our weekend.. its a long weekend here so enjoying an extra few days off and lots of running walking biking and meeting friends from a distance for a picnic :). Biking to meet my friends outside of my neighborhood felt so unusual! haha. Also I scored a pre order of Saucony endorphin pro so super excited to try those shoes out.

I hope you have a wonderful day and congrats again ?

AHHHHHHHHHH I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!! I know how much family means to you and how you’ve wanted a big family. So happy for you! :)

Reply

Awwww, Congrats!!! How exciting!!!

I craved salt with all 3 pregnancies! I ate so much ketchup and sea salt. Which was so odd because I never typically salt my food. With my 3rd, I craved bagels. We lived by a bread manufacturer and they had a discount store. I would go buy bags and bags of bagels–they would make the comment that I must be having people over for brunch;-)

Reply

Congratulations you guys!!!!!!! So excited for you all. I hope its a boy for Knox too :) Though, it’s easy to see he loves his sisters like crazy, so maybe it wouldn’t be the end of the world. I’ve been waiting for you to announce this little one, I felt like they had to be in the works :)

Reply

Congratulation to all of you! Long time reader and love how happy you are ! So exciting!

Reply

Yay babies! I’m pregnant with my first! 30 weeks today! Yay! First trimester was weird. I craved allllll the salt (I hate salt normally). I was eating chicken noodle soup out of a can at 9 a.m. at work…and didn’t know I was pregnant. Ha! First weird craving was Ranch Doritos and pickles at the same time….
My aversions right now are coffee (Hated that before, but ew ew ew right now!) and chocolate is slowly being acceptable again. (In small amounts because I didn’t really care for it before, either!)
The weirdest thing was making hamburgers for my husband the other day….I almost lost my cookies over the smell. (but I haven’t thrown up yet!) I even asked him to check the meat to make sure it was still good! Once it was cooked, i was fine!
