Silentish Saturday!

Hot and humid (all of you that live in actually humid areas would probably laugh at my definition of humid) run to start off my Friday of 8 miles (my happy place right now) at 9:10 average.

Another day, another waterpark.   And I definitely forgot Skye’s shoes.

So excited to have her temperature taken before we went in.

IMG 4003

My sister and her kids came too.

IMG 4009

Goggles are her favorite accessory even if she rarely puts them on her eyes.

IMG 4013

They think they are teenagers lately.

IMG 4017

Andrew picked up a few of my current favorite salad dressings so I could recreate the salad I have been eating all of the time at home.

IMG 4021 2

Of course this came after.

IMG 4024

Proud of herself for riding her bike up a big hill without stopping for the first time.

IMG 4027 2

Andrew brought home a pizza from Costco.

IMG 4032

Andrew was having another empathy pregnancy craving for shakes ha… banana chocolate shake for the win.

IMG 4030 2

The sun wiped me out and somehow I became a human pillow.

Enjoy the last two days of May!

Hey! Hope you have a great day. Today I’m meeting a friend for a walk, then I’m going to a rally against police brutality. I’m a little nervous about the amount of people who are going to be there, but hopefully the majority wear masks.

Reply

Wow, good for you! Hopefully the area you are in is calm and rational. I will be thinking of you. Let us all know how it goes. Stay safe!

Reply

Hey Amanda! Will you please let me know how the rally goes? Thank you for doing that and making a difference, you are amazing.

Reply

Hey everyone, thank you so much! The rally was awesome, I’m so glad I went. I’m going to be thinking about “peace is a verb” for a very long time. I can’t just wish for peace, I must act to create it. Everyone listened to the speakers and then we matched for about 2 miles. I’m excited to continue acting for justice!

Reply

Thank you for doing this today! You are a role model! I am in a pretty remote rural area right now helping out my parents but tomorrow I am running a solo half marathon and I will run for #justice #peace. I am a professor of peace and justice studies at Wellesley College and I always tell my students “peace is a verb.” You have to “do peace” you can’t simply “wish for it.” I can’t safely access a rally near Without risking my parents health (they have been physically isolated since early March) here but I can put in miles to show up for justice in my small corner of the world.
Peace to all of you!!!

Hi Janae !
This morning was my first run since…… i don’t know but a very long time ! That was so great ! Early in the morning, just my dog and I. It was the best !
After that i had a little shopping online. I bought some books, (including a B.A PARIS book because i loved Behind Closed Doors), a short (because i didn’t bought anything for pleasure since march, so i decided i deserve it )
And after shopping, cleaning the house, (with music, it is really much fun)
Have a beautiful day !
(Ps : i can’t believe you want to keep the «boy or girl surprise». I can’t wait, i need to know ! Haha !)

It’s so good to hear from you Ingrid! I’ve been wondering how you are doing and I’m so thrilled that you were able to go out on a run! Sounds absolutely perfect. YAY for another BA Paris book… SO good and I’m glad you online shopped. Thank you so much and hahah that is what my oldest brother said. He wants us to find out NOW! Have a great rest of your weekend friend!

I’m so missing our water parks already!

Today is 13.1 for the Running Warehouse challenge, swimming, and a sleepover for my nephew.

Reply

I am so so sorry! I want you all to come out to Utah and come with us:). 13.1…. BOOM! Sounds like the perfect day and you are the best aunt. Have a great time, Marissa!

I’m jealous you have Multiple water parks in your area and that they are open. No restrictions there?

Reply

Our area will be in the ‘green’ soon but as of right now we have to continue to social distance at water parks and they took our temperatures before coming in. I hope things start opening up for you guys soon and have a beautiful weekend!

It’s so hot and humid where I am too! Nice the water parks are open there. I’m working a 12 hr shift In this heat today..and we have no A/C :( Lol

I think you shared before but what color is your polish? Such a fun color for summer . Stay cool!

Reply

TWELVE HOURS in the heat today, Ashley that is so hard! I hope you have plenty of cold liquids to drink the whole time! My nails now are from my salon so it is gel and I think it is called Pink Lemonade! I hope your shift goes by fast and you have a relaxing night.

Yay Brooke, you got up that hill!!

3 things today: recovering from yesterday’s 15k virtual race, yoga, and an oil change. It’s just a big old party here! Have a great weekend, Janae.

Reply

Way to go Kathy on your 15k! That is awesome and I hope yoga today feels amazing. Thanks Kathy, you too!

Reply

Yay Brooke! I felt just like you today after I made it up some big hills running! 10 miles this morning- usually been walking hills because it’s been so humid here and it’s hard to breathe running up them, but pushed myself today.

Also going to do homework, maybe sit out in the sun and read (just finished Untamed, you were right, it was amazing!), and having a backyard pizza hangout with a couple friends. We can finally have groups smaller than 5 here in Maryland.

Reply

YES!!! Way to go on those big hills today and ten miles… in humidity! YOU ARE STRONG! So happy you loved Untamed and enjoy that backyard pizza hangout. So happy you can see each other now. Thanks Mariah!

I love that 8 miles is your total comfort zone right now. So awesome. And way to go Brooke!
We had pizza last night too. It definitely hit the spot.
Still dealing with the achilles, so I will do some more strength work today. I have an internet friend that just sent me a Barre workout video to try, so I will be doing that this morning too. It looks fun, and oh my goodness… Hard. I’ll let you know how it goes. In my time away from running, I have found some great workouts on You Tube and Pinterest! It’s been really fun!
The rest of the day/weekend will be spent on the patio, online shopping for patio accent pieces, grilling, and just hanging out.
Have a fun Saturday (and possibly a lo g run?) and a relaxing Sunday ?

Reply

Pizza on the weekends just tastes even better than pizza on a weekday. Good for you to do your strength work and I am just so mad that your achilles is still bugging you. I want you RUNNING like normal:). Hope you have a beautiful day on the patio… just the best. Thanks Wendy!

Hi Janae! Yay for Costco pizza, I actually miss it!
My fiance has finally made it home! He was stuck abroad for two months. Now he is home and quarantining himself just in case but I am just so happy he made it back! He drove by this morning just so we could see each other from far away and it already made my day :)

Reply

HE IS HOME!! I was thinking about that last night…. I bet seeing him was the best feeling ever! How long will he be quarantining for? Hope you have a beautiful day and so happy he is back safe!

Reply

Yes it was! He will be quarantining for 14 days and getting tested next week too just in case.
Thanks for remembering and happy happy weekend!!

Hi Janae – glad to see you guys are enjoying the start of summer! We’re starting to venture more outside now, and couldn’t be more glad to see the sun again! Stay safe and happy!

Reply

Madison, that makes me so happy! Keep enjoying that sunshine and have a beautiful weekend:)

Oh come on now I want a milkshake at 10 in the morning ? I suppose a smoothie could do the trick maybe with a scoop of froyo. ?

Way to go Brooke on crushing that hill! ? ? What is Brooke’s favorite thing to do on her bike?

What a fabulous waterpark! ?‍♀️ How often do the kids ask to go? ? I think I would want to go every single day!

Oh that sun will tire you out! Same deal here with humidity to boot. I am thankful for these ☀️ days because before you know it the ❄️ will be back! Make sure you drink lots of water ? I added alkaline water into my life and I am loving it!! It has a higher PH level and is more hydrating (at least that’s what I’m told.) I love the taste ? Costco sells Kirkland Brand for a very reasonable price if you ever want to give it a try!

Today I am:
1. Having a milkshake
2. Talking a nice long walk
3. Playing a board game with my family

What three things will you do? ? Run and…..

Reply

Aah, that looks like such a nice day ? I’ve not commented in ages but huge congrats on the new pregnancy!! I didn’t guess at all! Well done Brooke on her biking. I’m jealous of your water parks. We’re still quite locked down in the UK as our incidence is still a lot higher. Thank goodness for woods and nature reserves!

Reply

1.) Long run–14 miles and no humidity! Soaking it up while it lasts (3 days)
2) visiting with my family (parents, sister, BIL)
3) eating

What phone holder do you use for running? I upgraded my phone and my new phone doesn’t fit in my current one. I don’t see what you use on your “gear” page…sorry if I missed it!

Reply

Celebrating part 1 of my son’s virtual high school graduation! He broke his own 1 mile record today (also his school’s track record) 4.23!! Can’t wait for the day we can celebrate with a graduation party.

Reply

Yay Brooke for getting up that hill!
1. Went for a run in Alabama with my son. we are here visiting my oldest son whom I have not seen in 155 days and miss dearly.
2. Did a difficult bike with both my boys .
3. Going to Cheddars Scratch Kitchen with husband and boys before we leave tomorrow. My heart already misses him.
