Silentish Saturday!!!

8 miles of slush.

Paused our gamins a million times for our attempts at not getting our feet wet in large puddles… I was definitely not successful.

Uh-oh, asking for a nap today predicts an illness tomorrow! The play place visit to talk brought back memories. As a single mom to three boys I used to spend hours in those places on winter weekends doing homework. Years after my kids were too old to go to a play place, a guy at Target stopped me and said “Hey, aren’t you the lady who used to hang out at McDonalds play place every weekend studying?” Hahaha!

Luckily she isn’t sick today… I am so confused now ha. Amy, you are amazing for what you did and what you accomplished as a single mom to three boys. Amazing. PS yesterday while we were there I was telling Andrew about how I used to bring Brooke there all of the time when I needed to work as a single mom. You and I would get along great:) . Have a beautiful weekend!

Happy Weekend!
9-10 miles today, cleaning the basement/playroom with kids (torture all around) and letting my husband cook me dinner. :) Sauce and Meatballs! And probably family movie night, if the kids are still talking to us after the basement

Your slushy picture makes me feel inspired because it’s 21* but at least it’s sunny and dry!

BAHAHAH your comment just made me happy because I can relate to it so much! Enjoy the sauce and meatballs and now I need some of that myself. Enjoy your day and some sunshine!

Hi Janae !
– Today I choose my 2020 race. It will be the first one for me ! a 5K in may.
I’m so excited !
I found a plan in 8 weeks made by Nike. I think I will follow it. I don’t know if it’s a good plan, but anyway I need a plan ! :)
– This morning we spent time trying to fix the heater (It is an air conditionner that makes cold in summer and hot in winter. We only succeed in having cold air ! Ha ! And it is almost new, 2 years old… Great week end with many clothes on! :)
– This afternoon I will cook waffles. We deserve it ! :)
Have 86400 wonderful seconds !

INGRID! I am thrilled about this. I can’t wait for your 5k and I hope you keep me updated on it all! Good luck with that heater and drink some hot chocolate too. Enjoy those waffles and you too!

I love that quote your mom sent you! So good!
I took a pilates class yesterday, my friend is the teacher, it was so good, but I am sore this morning! My run may feel a bit awkward and slow today ?
I don’t really have much planned for today… Still looking for new bedding, so I may hit up Ikea.
Have a good Saturday ?

So much snow! Most of our trails/trailheads are getting flooded out from record rain. This weather is crazy!
Today is swim lessons, cleaning and trying to tackle a 3 week pile of clean laundry that has yet to be put away!
I’ll most likely skip the last two and take my youngest to an indoor play place though! Ha!
Have a great day!

Oh Jenny! That is nuts! I hope you are able to stay dry today and you are motivating me to do some laundry haha…
I like the indoor play place idea! Thanks and you too!

I’m still recovering from flu so my plans are coffee, Netflix and naps! There is an old show called Signing Time with Alex and Leah that is for kids and focuses on teaching ASL. I personally learned a lot while watching with clients haha! It’s super cute and Brooke might learn a lot from it! It might be a little below her but still good to check out!

Cari! I am so sorry that you had to go through having the flu! I am totally going to check that show out, thank you so much! Recover well and I hope you have some great Netflix shows to catch up on.

snow day for Chattanooga (which doesn’t happen hardly EVER)! my run will be slushy, too! Plus we got like 2 straight days of rain so the river is 12-15 feet higher than normal. And that is probably an underestimate. There are posts and lights by the river for boats to dock at, and they are all underwater and completely hidden. Crazy. I am thinking after a wet run I want a pizza night in with my husband:)

Reply

LORIBETH!! We were just talking about you yesterday because Brooke is working on a report about Macaroni Penguins. WOW, that is nuts how much rain you guys received. I hope your slushy run was great and that the pizza is delicious!

NAPS are so good. Skye has the right idea asking an adult if she wants a nap. Next up: Skye will demand that you take a nap! And I want her to tell me when to take naps!!!

TODAY: I drove out to the western suburbs for Day 1 of Les Mills Sprint instructor training. Sprint is a HIIT class on a spin bike and it is an amazing 30 minutes of work that will make you feel sort of like you’re dying (if you’re doing it right) and feeling oddly ouchy and smiley by the end. And tomorrow is the rest of training, and after that I have 2 months to practice teaching and videotape myself teaching an entire class of the release I am training on and submit it for final certification. And now I am making salmon for dinner, because it’s all that sounds good after spending so much of my day on the spin bike. (Tomorrow though I am hoping to convince Tom to get takeout from a favorite place and get me a bacon blue cheese burger…because that sounds like the best treat ever after 2 days of super intense work…)

Random, but we had a human version of hungry hungry hippo tournament in my city this weekend. It was hilarious! It was on an outdoor ice rink, and people were laying on their stomachs on intertubes with a laundry basket in their hands. Teammates would push them out into the center of the rink to grab balls with their laundry basket, then pull them back with a tether they were attached to. It was so fun!
