Yep, pretty much the prettiest winter running scene ever for yesterday’s run!

It snowed again overnight and the river trail was amazing.  It was crunchy and not slippery and the views were unreal.  Between having more friends to run with this year and skiing… I don’t want winter to end (which is not my usual winter attitude ha).

PS a few of my friends use socks for their gloves and they swear by them and say their hands never feel cold with them!

I went up with Knox to Sundance for a few runs and while we were there I ran into one of my favorite people ever. It was the perfect reunion.

The second I start eating is the second that Skye finds her way to my lap:)

We finished up the day with some time on the couch.

I have some Friday Favorites to share today!

*I love going to my eyebrow girl the most but when I don’t have time to go to her… I just tint my eyebrows at home with this kit.  It comes with a bunch of capsules of dye and you just put it on for a few minutes and boom.  Tinted eyebrows for very very cheap.  PS picture from when the dye is on my eyebrows and before I washed it off:)

IMG 3524

*EVO Planner!  They asked me if I wanted a planner and so I tried them out.  They first have you take their online test to help determine your ‘brain type (the way you process and organize information, and relate to the world around you)’ to match you with the best planner for you. My results from the test were that I am an Alchemist and they sent me the planner that works best for that brain type.  I’M OBSESSED WITH IT.  I love the way it is organized and how each week and day is set up.  You fill in the date which is nice because then you can start it whenever.  2020 is going to be my most organized year yet now:)

*If you have a Zao Cafe near you (they might just be a Utah thing but I keep seeing more and more pop up)… it’s my current favorite place to eat.  I get the rice bowl with the curry sauce and it is pure heaven.  Skye loves it there too.

IMG 8354

*My current ‘wear every single day of my life’ necklace.  Brooke asked me the other day if I ever change my jewelry and the answer is no ha.

IMG 1692 2

*Just an important reminder if you are struggling with body image problems right now!

IMG 2841

*I bought this dog bed for Beretta for Christmas and she is rarely getting off of it now.  It’s made of memory foam and it is also waterproof and you can wash the cover too.  I tried it out and I couldn’t believe how comfortable it is.  It is definitely Beretta’s Friday Favorite:)

IMG 3595

*I haven’t jumped on the sock bandwagon for gloves yet but I bought these gloves (Emilee had them and told me they were the best) and they are amazing.  The insides are plushed lines and my hands haven’t felt cold at all yet in them.

Isn’t it the best?! Just the thing we need to remind ourselves each day. I hope you have the perfect day! Thanks Brooke!

My daughter was just like Skye – always appeared out of no where when food was around. We called her a little bird. She is now 20 and will occasionally say “peep peep peep” meaning she would like some of the food on my plate. She’s a crack up!
Have a great FRIDAY!

Bahahah peep peep peep… we might have to copy you with that! She sounds hilarious. I hope Skye does that too when she is 20:) . Thanks Lisa and I hope your day is a beautiful one!

I just caught up on the past couple of days of posts–your Christmas celebrations looked lovely :) Beautiful white Christmas scenes, lots of good food and family! I LOVE that the kids are getting into skiing–such a great family outing!
I’m counting down the days to spring ~haha~
The kids are still on winter break until after new year’s day, so probably just having random friends over here and there this weekend.
I’m loving the sports bra and workout shorts I got from Born Primitive for Christmas–straps that don’t dig in and wide waistbands. Also, some super cute patterns, and I’ll probably try some of the shorts with pockets next. Plus, a recipe for Greek chicken (a rub with a combo of yummy spices + feta + tzatziki sauce) that my friend shared with me. Yummy!
My jewelry has gotten very boring, LOL. Just plain ball earrings (never take them out), and I only recently went back to wearing a watch.

Thank you so much, Corey! It really has been such a great week! I hope that you are able to stay super warm this winter and your weekend plans sound perfect! I had never heard of Born Primitive until you and I just looked them up… they have the cutest things! And now I need your greek chicken… drooling!

It is still 70 degrees in Mississippi. My current winter attitude is annoyed. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not asking for snow and ice (we don’t do well with that down here). But a cold, crisp day would be nice. Would love to actually wear boots and a sweater…

70 degrees… it’s pretty much still summer there! I really hope that you guys get some cooler temps ASAP and if not, come vacation in Utah for a week and I’ll take you skiing:) . Hope you have a beautiful weekend, Jennifer!

Barretta!!! She looks so comfy on that bed. I don’t mind winter, I love all seasons but always get tired of them near the end. Even summer. My goal this winter is to get on skis at least once! It’s been years so you’re Inspiring me! We have a small Ski place about 20 mins from our house

Reply

She really does love the bed so much ha. I totally agree with you, I always feel ready for the change at the end of a season. So glad we get to experience four each year. Let me know when you go skiing and I hope you have the best time. SO nice to have a resort so close to you! Enjoy your day, Andrea!

So…I went to a nude Turkish bath yesterday with a friend for her birthday (her choice). Besides the massage being the best of my life, it was AMAZING to be surrounded by so many nude women with such different body types and none of them being fake or airbrushed. I rarely see real women’s body’s and the little bit of nudity I see is usually unexpected and in the form of some sort of media. So I honestly just didn’t have much experience with what real women’s bodies’ looked like. And it was so awesome to see that every single woman there, regardless of age (and there were a few 20 year olds or so) had cottage cheese on their butts and saggy boobs among the older crew and squishy tummies from having kids… all these things that women can feel bad about their bodies…and yet are inevitable. And nobody there was ashamed Or self conscious. Anyway, it was a really empowering and liberating experience and gave me a new perspective on my body and what is normal and I highly recommend it for anyone with body issues! (Also because everyone acted as though it was totally normal and not weird to be naked…it felt totally normal and not weird. I was amazed at how not-self-conscious I was…)

Chelsea, what an incredible experience and so important for all of us! How sad is it that the only women’s bodies that we see daily through media are not even REAL. Such an amazing reminder that our bodies are beautiful and all so different from one another and what media tries to sell us. Thank you for sharing this with me. What an awesome birthday celebration for your friend! Thank you!

This isn’t about your post today but don’t you have a robot vacuum? Now that we have a dog who sheds, I feel the need to vacuum daily and it’s getting old. Was wondering about the vacuum. Which one do you have and does it work well? Thanks for your time!

Reply

Hey Mary! YES we do have a robot vacuum and it makes it so easy to keep our hardwood floors free of dog hair:) We have this:
https://amzn.to/2QsHZLb
We also just got the Dyson V10 cordless and it is amazing on carpets! I can’t believe how light it is and easy to use (the kids now use it to vacuum).

The combo for both for our carpets and hard wood floor is awesome. Have a great day Mary!

My current winter attitude is amused…I live in Wisconsin and on Halloween it was in the 30s with 6 inches of snow; on Christmas Day and yesterday it was sunny and near 60! My jewelry rotation is limited as I can wear only 14K gold and sterling silver (skin allergy). I used to be so jealous of my friends who were able to wear lots of different custume jewelry. Now I’m happy to not have one more decision to make when getting ready in the morning. :-) Looks like you and the family have had a wonderful Christmas; as always, I’ve enjoyed seeing your posts!

Reply

Your winter this year has been quite different! I hope that the sun stays for a bit longer for you. Hahaha yes, the less decisions the better. I think Brooke has a similar skin allergy to you! Thank you so much, Leslie and I really hope your weekend is a great one!

PS…thanks so much for sharing the Glennon Doyle quote. I think it has become my favorite one. Thanks for sharing!

So glad you love it. Just the BEST reminder!

Just re-read my comment saying thanks for sharing twice. Yikes, keep the coffee coming please…lol!

It’s been in the 60s all week so my current winter attitude is YES! I hope it sticks around.

Ummmm that sounds AMAZING! Keep enjoying, Loribeth!

Jealous of the snow! Looks so beautiful and peaceful love the sound of running on snow (not ice)

I never change my jewelry have been wearing the same necklace for about 15 years now. Earrings I switch up only if I feel the urge but not often. I love your necklace, so pretty.

I loved watching my kids open their presents and tonight we’re going to a light show. Glad I booked this since my youngest and I spent all Christmas Eve/day home because of the flu. She’s so excited to be festive and feeling better. ?

Reply

Come visit and run in the snow with me:) . Wouldn’t that be fun!15 years… I LOVE THAT! That necklace has been through a lot with you. I am SO sorry that you and your youngest were so sick, that is the worst timing. The light show tonight will be amazing! Thanks Lauren!

Current winter attitude is FREEZING, haha. It was 4 degrees this morning and that’s cold for us CA wimps ;) We don’t always have so much snow in December, so it’s been really fun to ski before tax season sets in and even shoveling is still a novelty. I’m sure I’ll feel differently by March, but loving it for now ;)

FOUR DEGREES!? That is crazy! I’m glad you have been able to get out and ski though and I hope you keep loving it. Now go get some hot chocolate. Enjoy your weekend, Michelle!

I typically love winter but this winter has been different. I feel so cold most of the time. I can’t seem to get warm when I am running outside even when the temps are in the high 30’s low 40’s. In past years I have spent more time cross country skiing. Maybe that is what I am missing.

I am going to run outside, attend a missionary homecoming and cross country ski!!!!

Reply

That is really interesting, Megan! I wonder why! I hope you have the best time cross country skiing… that is such a great workout:) . Maybe you just need more hot chocolate in your life too. Yay for the missionary homecoming too!

Hi Janae! I love all the things you shared today! I really like planners but I always stop using them after a while and then I feel bad about it. Do you have the same issue or how do you avoid that? Happy Friday!!

Reply

Hey Amy! That is a great question! I usually go through times each year where I use it more than other times but I just remind myself that it’s normal! We all go through times where we are more diligent with things than others and so don’t be hard on yourself about it… it’s human:) . I usually just try to make a goal to get back to doing it when I stop! I hope you have the best weekend!

I am obsessed with Kendra Scott! I got several pieces for Christmas to add to my collection. :) Check our the cherry illusion stone, my new fav!!

This is an amazing Friday Favorites! I’m also an Alchemist (I was worried there were little EVO planner gnomes being judgey on my answers because just deciding on an answer was somewhat challenging. #overthinker). Also, my brows are in need of some TLC and this tip may be a great time saving solution!!!

Winter-currently wishing it would snow, but then again, it’s a lot easy to run without it mucking up the sidewalks and streets. But it’s sooooo pretty!!!!

I tend to fall in love with a necklace or bracelet and wear it daily until it either breaks, fades, or something else pops up. BUT, I’ll go MONTHS with the same piece on. Currently in love with my Bronwen necklace of a mountain peak pendant.

I am in the Mississippi Delta this weekend, and it’s in the 60s, so I have a wonderful winter attitude right now ?? I am a little jealous of all your snow!! I bought some running gloves at Costco and will probably never get to wear them. Y’all have a good weekend!!
