Well, yesterday it ALL came together.  Everything from the tailwind, to my nutrition, to the crazy training we have done over the last few months… it clicked.   I will have the longest recap ever for you tomorrow!

But here is how the last week of training looked like:

Monday:  7 miles @ 8:34 average.

Tuesday: 5.6 miles total w/ 1 mile downhill @ 5:28.   This was our last run during the carb depletion and it felt absolutely terrible.

Wednesday: 5.2 miles @ 8:13 average.

Thursday:  Off and I stayed sitting as much as possible.

Friday:  2 miles @ 7:54 average with a few strides afterwards.

Saturday:  26.2 miles @ 6:28 average:)

Sunday:   Off and I’ll take the next week off too!

46 miles total for the week!

Woohoo!!!! Congratulations! Enjoy and savor this moment…well done! Your hard work has paid off! Can’t wait to see some yummy food pics of the celebrations…and to hear the details on the race!

For us here…
1. I opted for us to stay home this morning and listen online to service at church. One of the best decisions I think. We hardly ever get a morning where we don’t have to be somewhere – so it’s a lounge in jammies and sip coffee and let the kids play kind of morning.
2. My husband is away for the weekend so I’ve been wanting to do fun stuff with the kiddos this weekend. I think this afternoon we will venture to the pumpkin patch and do a hayride and pick out pumpkins!
3. Def be doing some at home yoga. Had a long run of 17 yesterday and def needing some good stretches!

Congratulations, Janae! You really worked hard for this.

Congratulations, Janae!!! I am so proud of you! I totally meant to tell you good luck on Friday before the race, but I just forgot. Mommy brain is real. I made up for it by checking your Instagram like 20 times on Saturday :) You should think about trying for an OTC next year! But first, you should rest. And eat lots of cookies. You’ve earned it!

So AMAZING!! Congratulations Janae! And pass some kudos to Andrew too – I know how important spousal support is with our crazy running goals and he had all 3 kids at the race to boot. Bravo!

I don’t have any social media accounts but yesterday I used Instagram to check on your race outcome. So very excited for you; congratulations you worked really hard! I am very excitedly looking forward to your race recap. Today I: 1) had my long run 2) will do laundry 3) will eat a piece of pie from the giant Costco pumpkin pie I bought yesterday. Enjoy your day!

You are amazing!!!! Seriously all the congrats on such a huge, well deserved and very much earned accomplishment! My run is already done and next up is cleaning (if I can peel myself off of this couch!), a trip to my second home aka Target and then lunch with my mama to try out a new Thai restaurant.
Have a great day and happy recovery!

Congratulations on a HUGE PR, Janae!!! Enjoy some much deserved rest!

Oh my gosh congrats on this! You worked hard and it paid off.

HUGE congratulations to you! I seriously cannot imagine running even one mile at that pace! You’re comprised entirely of strength and determination and endurance, and I am awed.
1. Ran a few 1.7 mile loops of a course I’m considering running a 6 hour race on later in the month. It was ROCKY!
2. Ate leftover apple pie that I baked yesterday. It made me feel better after all of those rocks.
3. Stalking a few running buddies who are currently running the Wine glass Marathon. They both hope to finally BQ! And, Meb is pacing the half marathon there, so they are in the company of greatness. Also, that course? All roads, zero rocks!!

Congratulations again. You are truly an incredible runner.

Trevor!!! So so good to hear from you! Thank you so much and I want to hear what is next for you

Hi Janae. I can’t grasp running that fast for that long… seriously WOW.

I have a few things lined up. My first full Ironman triathlon is in 6 weeks and I’ll be ready; training is on track. Thinking about doing a 100km run for the first time at Black Canyon AZ in February and I’m signed up for the 50 mile ultra at Bryce Canyon next May. Thinking about a tri in San Diego with an ocean swim – open ocean scares me but I may try that later next year…

As far as today is concerned I’m taking a nap. Sleep is part of training right?? :) I look forward to hearing and reading what’s next for you. Keep up your inspiring accomplishments and blog.

Reply

Okay, WOW! You have some incredible things coming up! I’m cheering for you and please let me know how they al go! I’ve never done an Ironman but as far as ultras go… I think those are harder than my marathon time! That stuff is so incredibly challenging, you are amazing!

Reply

Congratulations!! Looking forward to your recap!!

Congrats! You are amazing and so inspiring!!

Reply

Congratulations, Janae!! You are incredibly inspiring.

I ran ten miles this morning, training for a half at the end of the month.
Then I ate two breakfasts, because why not?
I bought mums, finally!

I’m so happy for you Janae. I’ve followed your blog and journey for years and it’s been amazing to see you come back so string post-pregnancy and crush your PRs. I can’t wait to see what is next for you.

Reply

Awesome!! This is close to the time I run a half marathon in, ha!

I’m curious- I thought your goal was around 2:53, but if I read your Instagram post correctly, it looks like your goal was really to go under 2:50 all along. I am curious as to why you advertise one goal, while having another. I get not wanting to advertise a goal and miss it, but just wondering why you segment the goals this way.

Reply

Hey! No worries, I didn’t explain that well at all! A few months ago we initially made that goal! A few weeks ago I felt like my body was in the shape for a 2:53… I felt like that was where I was at! A week ago my coach told me that I was in the shape for faster so over the last few days I readjusted back to go for a 2:50! Have a great day:).

Reply

Glad you all were so in tune with what you were capable of! Always great to see people hit their goals!

Reply

So psyched for you!!! Looking forward to reading the details tomorrow
3 things
1) 9-mile run with my BFF on the C&O canal towpath
2) buying a new candy corn + chocolate peanut combo (that I’ll save for my reward after a goal event)
3) reading and stretching (ok, so that’s 2 in 1)

Reply

Wow wow wow! This makes it all so dang worth it!!!! So happy for you and your team, congrats!!!!

Reply

Absolutely amazing!!?❤️Congratulations!

Reply

Congrats, Janae! You are amazing!

Reply

Amazing! Congratulations! You continue to amaze me! I ran my 2nd marathon today…4:36….my goal was 5 hours. It was tough, emotional and I’m hurting…but I did it!

Reply

HUGE CONGRATS DEE!!! YOU ROCKED YOUR GOAL!!!!!

Reply

Huge Congratulations to you Janae!! I’m thrilled for you…well deserved. ????

Reply

Wow!! That’s quite an achievement…you must be so proud! All the hard work paid off :-) Looking forward to the race recap. Thanks again for the inspiration!

I loved reading your recap Janae and it’s been amazing to hear about your progression. I’m definitely interested to hear more about your carb depletion and future goals.

Enjoy your recovery and these moments. That race award trophy is so cool. I ran a race in Colorado a couple of months ago and they gave us something similar.

AMAZING! You are so inspiring and I hope you can see how radiant you look in each and every one of these photos. You are definitely doing what you’re meant to do in this world – thanks for taking your readers along for the ride!
