A New 1/2 Marathon PR + Marathon Training Log!

1:20:23 ahhhhhh!!!  I had a good feeling going into this race (and some fresh legs too) with the goal of a 6:10 average and I hit 6:08 average.  I’ll have an overly detailed race recap for you tomorrow!

Monday:  6.57 miles @ 8:13 average

Tuesday:  8.22 miles with a new MTC (downhill) mile PR of 5:10.

Wednesday:  7 miles total in the mountains @ 9:55 average.

Thursday:  6 mies @ 7:55 average!

Friday:  Off!

Saturday: 24.3 miles (with the 13.1 for the race @ 6:08 average plus cooldown) in the morning with 4 miles in the evening with Andrew, Brooke and Skye!

Sunday:  Off!

52ish miles for the week (with most of them on Saturday ha).  6 weeks and 5 days until our marathon!

—————————————————————————————–

PS I think a new thing on Sundays will be my marathon training log and a picture or two!  Now that the kids are back in school I want to make sure I’m really soaking in the time they are home on the weekends:). Have the best day and like always… I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE UP TO OR WHAT YOUR BEST RUN WAS TODAY!

Congrats on your amazing run, Janae! I told my husband I had to check in yesterday afternoon to see how you did… and you nailed it. Your
dedication and the way you celebrate your success are so inspiring!

On the docket for today: church, meal prep for the week, nap and registering for the Army Run in Ottawa. I’ll be signing up for the 10k. :)

Have a happy Sunday with your fam!

Congratulations ! That’s awesome !!
Storming here today, so no run this morning anyway. Maybe a run or swim when it clears. Or a bike ride. Just kind of chillin out today, which doesn’t happen much so we’re soaking it up.

Have a great Sunday! I’m off to the market for some food shopping, back to school shopping (we don’t go back until after Labor day), and most importantly…..doughnuts!
Enjoy your day off!

Congrats! That is speedy wow!
I like your new Sunday game plan. It’s hard to adjust to the school months when you get so used to having the kiddos around daily during the summer. Always takes a bit for me to adjust to the quietness of the house during the day and earlier bedtimes at night. We have two weeks left of summer so I’m soaking up the time!

Taking my daughter to her swim instructor course this morning. My son and I will play foosball, swim and go to the grocery store. It’s been 3.5 weeks with no running (so far) for me, so I’m living vicariously through people like you. I can’t wait for your marathon!!

Thank you for all your inspiration and encouragement… I am feeling like I’m ready to start putting in the miles again, even started a new weekly running log!
Enjoy your rest!

Congrats janae!! You are going to kill it in this next marathon. This is really inspiring to me bc i decided on a spring marathon and i really want to get a competitive time. I’m spending the next 3 months building a base so that I can hopefully get a sub 4 my first go around. Watching you be consistent and hitting tour goals makes me hopeful that I can run easily in the 7’s one day. Lofty but you’ve shown me it’s possible!

So awesome Janae – I had a good feeling about that race for you! Are you thinking about shooting for an OTQ time soon? I think you’re getting pretty close.. :)

Anyway super excited for you and you’re running right now! I am coming back from injury and get to do my first run/walk tomorrow!

Congrats on the race, you are a BA =)

Totally understand about the weekends, my little guy is starting pre-k this week and I just want to soak up every second with him. Enjoy celebrating!!!

Congrats, that is amazing! I love watching the hard work pay off – you look fierce in that picture!

Today was a recovery miles/ Church/ meal prep for the week kind of day. We are in a string of 100+ degree days, and so I”m hoping that all this heat running (yesterday it was humid, and 97 feels like 107 at the end of my long run!) makes a difference when it starts to cool off a bit. Hope you had a wonderful Sunday!

Congratulations and well done!!! I’m so excited for you. I’m looking forward to reading your race recap. :)

You are amazing! I had to lookup the Olympic Time Trial Qualification standard for the marathon, only seven more minutes and you’ll be there (which I realize is still super hard!), but holy smokes, you’re closer than I’ll ever be!
