Who Gives A Crap! Something for US to do– Inspired by my new toilet paper

How is this summer already flying by so quickly?  I hope that you are able to enjoy some of your favorite summer activities, lots of popsicles and running in the sunshine.  I can’t wait to share my race recap with you tomorrow morning!

I am so excited to share with you something that we can all do to take better care of our world this month along with a company that is doing a lot to help others in developing countries.  This post is sponsored by Who Gives A Crap toilet paper.  I have a great deal for you at the end of this post.

I think runners have a love for our world that is very unique.

We spend a lot of time each week outside as we get in our miles while exploring our world by foot.  I have had some of my most meaningful life experiences while outside on a run.  I’ve said a lot of prayers in nature during my solo runs.  I’ve had moments of overwhelming gratitude for the beautiful world that we get to experience during this life.  I’ve found a lot of solutions to my problems in my life as the miles click by on the trails or on the roads. I’ve built lifelong friendships out in nature and opened up more about life than I normally would.  Spending so much time outside and running on the roads or in the mountains has really helped me to build a special love for this world.

I’m sure you can relate and have had a lot of special experiences with nature while you are running.  I think this is one of the reasons why runners really want to take care of our world.  We all want to continue to have these amazing adventures outdoors and for the generations to come.

When I first started learning about Who Gives a Crap I was very impressed by their mission and what they were doing to take better care of our world.

Twenty-seven thousand trees are cut down daily to make toilet paper- most toilet paper is made from cutting down virgin trees!  Who Gives A Crap is making a difference by only using 100% recycled paper and bamboo in their toilet paper!  Inspired by Plastic Free July, they have committed to eliminating even the smallest bits of plastic as quickly as possible from their supply chain.  We can all join them this month on their plastic free journey by joining in on their Plastic Free Challenge!

We are going to go plastic free over here and I hope you will too!

My favorite part about Who Gives A Crap is the fact that they donate 50% of their profits to help build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world.

From the founder, “We started Who Gives A Crap when we learnt that 2.3 billion people across the world don’t have access to a toilet.  That’s roughly 40% of the global population and that means that around 289,00 children under five die every year from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation.”   That is absolutely heartbreaking to me.  I had no idea how big of a problem this was for so many people.  I really wanted to spread the word about Who Gives A Crap because they are committed to helping.

Toilet paper is something that we all use, so why not buy these products from a company that is dedicated to helping those around the world that need our help?  Their toilet paper is extremely soft 3 ply.  The packaging is adorable (Brooke called all of the sprinkle ones for the kid’s bathroom:).  They also offer forest friendly tissues and paper towels!

My run was outside today and man, I am struggling with the altitude here in Utah! … or at least I tell myself it is the altitude and not my fitness level right now, haha. :) (Just moved here a couple of weeks ago)

Girlllll! It’s the altitude! My running partner said it took her about 4 months to adjust when she moved here from California! So know you are in shape but we are just so high up here! I hope you are having a wonderful day! Yay! Try them!

This is such a cool idea. I always like finding companies who give back or have some kind of foundation. I try to avoid plastic or one use products to do my share!

Skye is too stinking cute! And her outfits, oy! ?

I have beet looking at this brand for a while but was afraid to commit, it’s a LOT of rolls of TP. And I am kinda picky. Have you tried the bamboo and the recycled? Preference?

Reply

Oh I am so glad! I have tried both and it is a lot of TP but so nice to be stocked for a very long time. Recycled is my fave. I hope your day has been great so far Jen!

My favorite thing about the paper instead of plastic is you get to use the paper on your first use right? Well you could, and maybe we should? We love giving back to the earth and the community and we are glad that companies like these exist. Who Gives a Crap, Thank you for showing how to give back to those in need.
Love the excitement the kids show about toilet paper, you know your next Christmas gift. :)
Over here at our house we donate to Kiva and you should too. Its a great way to help others through micro loans. Such a great cause.
Outside it was for me this early morning and it was so cool and pretty with the sunrise. Always have fun running with a Bestie too!
Love ya Janae! Thanks for the great post!

When this post came up last Monday I was shocked at the word crap on the front of your blog but now having read twice about this company I am impressed and seems like a good initiative. Thanks for highlighting a sponsor that needs some advertising for a worthy cause and not giant companies and corporations!!!
