Silentish Saturday!!!

A run with Andrew and Skye to start off the day.

3 miles that felt like 26 @ 9:03 average pace.  Turns out speed work + hills the previous two days make your body feel completely exhausted.

Straight to a breakfast date afterwards.

Chocolate chip pancakes are my favorite.

Spending some time with Brooke before she left for the weekend.

Skye was not happy that she was leaving.

She cheered up later on though.

A Beretta update….

Skye brings her toys over to Beretta when she is napping.

Running (I feel like I’m not doing enough endurance…I can make 6 miles but how often should I do a long run vs a tempo run for a 10k?)
And
Cabin because it’s been way too long. I’m hoping to take some wild flower seeds up to plant around part of where the fire burned last year.

Ahhhh you are going to the cabin! Last summer was so stressful with all of the fires! That is a great question and if I were you I would like to kind of combine the two and put some tempo miles in the longer runs:) Have a wonderful day Jenny and we finally have sunshine!

Happy Saturday Janae! Today I am getting a mammogram- I’m a bit nervous. My Dad had breast cancer when he was twelve years younger than I am now. Every year I dread the mammogram. Later on I get to meet my one month old great- nephew for the first time! I can’t wait to hold him. I’m hoping to fit in a nice leisurely walk this evening. Hope your day is great!

Reply

Kimberly! I am praying for you. I am so so sorry about this and that your dad had breast cancer. Will you please let me know how it goes? I hope you have the best time with your nephew!

I’m sure it feels so weir when both Brooke and Knox are gone for the whole weekend! But, it does give you and Andrew a chance to be with just Skye, and that’s really special.
Today will start with an easy-ish run and some strength and core work, then just some good ‘ol Saturday house cleaning and stuff. Nothing super exciting, but that’s ok ?
Have a great Saturday!

Yes, that’s so so true Wendy! Good luck with graduation next week ahhh… so exciting. Way to go getting in that strength/core work! You too!

I did my big grocery shopping last night so today will be gym, a quick stop for produce, and laundry.
I blame my Dad for the multiple stores thing…gotta get the better prices and the better products so multiple stops.

It’s the best to have a fully stocked kitchen… enjoy! And that’s smart to go to the different stores to get everything and such a great way to save money. I hope you have a beautiful weekend Kristen!

Those wide lanes on the roads look heavenly (& crack free!) to run on!
Today… well, I just cleaned the kitchen, doing laundry and grocery shopping is up next unless the boys talk me into a gaming expo first. At some point I hope to put my feet up on the wall! Fingers crossed! Good stuff let me tell you! Ha!
Have a great day!!!

Hey you!! I can’t believe it’s already so hot! Enjoy hot dogs, your run and work (so crowded today I bet)!

My mammogram came back normal!! I am very thankful.

Oh my goodness this makes me so happy! What a relief. Thank you for letting me know and enjoy your Saturday now!

Today’s three things are my longest run since my marathon in October (16 miles), the sneaker clearance sale at my local running store (heaven), and hanging out on my patio with my husband enjoying the first full weekend he has had off in several months.

Reply

ALMA… CONGRATS!! So happy you were able to get out for such a long run! I hope you got some great sneakers and enjoy this time with your husband.

Happy Saturday! I have to ask, I’m guessing Brooke and Knox do not go to the same school?! What does Brooke do when she goes to visit her dad? Does she miss school? So curious even though it’s totally none of my business! PS-You seem to balance it all so well… do you ever loose it?!yell me your secrets ?

Reply

Hey Jess! I am an open book on all of this:) . She has probably only missed a day or two over the years to visit with her dad. She is usually with him from Friday afternoon to Sunday night! This weekend she gets home Monday night since it is a holiday though:) . Oh I have no balance… some weeks I’m really great at one thing and drop the ball on everything else and just rotate through the things I’m good at ha. Have a fabulous Sunday!

Love your blog! Today I started to take down wallpaper from our kitchen, went to the gym, and went to pick out swimsuits for my kids. It was busy but a fun day, for sure!

I’m going to need to see a before and after of your kitchen! Sounds like the perfect day! Thanks Sarah!

Hi, Janae. Random question from your ultra. What hydration pack did you use for your training and would you recommend it? Thanks! P.S. So happy to see you discovered the quinoa recovery salad. I make it every couple of weeks! So good!

HEY APRIL! Thank you so much and that salad is heavenly! Here it is… have a great day! https://www.backcountry.com/salomon-adv-skin-12-set-hydration-vest-732cu-in?irgwc=1&ircid=5311&irpid=380853&clickid=zzGR34xsbxyJRxS0EkzjZTwgUkly2dWOIzJXws0

How do you define the difference between a tempo run versus regular run? I get so confused :(
