Wow.  I can’t thank you enough for all of your sweet comments/messages yesterday!  I can’t wait to tell you every detail of the day tomorrow on the race recap.  We got home at 10 last night and after a 4:15 am wake-up time we ate and went straight to bed… hence the extra short post:)

I’m sad to report that sweet foods sound beyond terrible post-race (that hopefully will change today) but McDonald’s french fries and chicken tenders won my heart after the race and R&R salads and onion rings took 1st place when we got home.

I’ve never been so sore in my entire life… worse than any marathon ever ha.

See you tomorrow with way too much information.

Tell me three things that you are doing today?!

SO HAPPY FOR YOU! I can’t believe it’s over–you did it!

3 things: HIIT workout (so. sweaty.), reading in a coffee shop (my favorite weekend tradition), and hopefully a walk in the sunshine!

I hope you’re resting on the couch and having food brought to you all day. :-)

Thank you so much Kristin and you guessed my schedule for today:). Way to go on the HIIT workout (those are so crazy hard) and enjoy the walk and reading!

Congrats on your race! I hope you had a ton of fun out there! Today, I am getting in my long run of the week at 13 miles. I have a half marathon in April! We will also head to church followed by lots of outside time because the weather is finally looking like spring!

GO COURTNEY GO!! I hope you have an awesome long run today and enjoy those perfect temps. Cheering you on for your half next month!

Janae!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!! I knew you could do it! Did you do a shakeout run? Did your stomach handle everything you ate? Did you FaceTime Andrew midrace? I cannot wait to hear the details!

3 things today:

running an easy 40 minutes (taking my 10K training seriously! With all my years of marathon training (17) I don’t think I have specifically trained for a 10K since 2001!

vacuuming (ladybugs and dog hair visible – alert alert)

putting up two more campaign signs (this campaigning for a low-paid part-time public position is a full-time job)!

You are the best. I did do a shakeout run and my stomach held up pretty good overall! Yes, I FaceTimed him and it was the best. I am SO excited for your 10k training and you are inspiring me to try that next! PS 17 years of marathon training, wow. Good luck with the campaigning and keep me updated on everything. Have a beautiful Sunday!

Way to go!!!! What an accomplishment! I mean WOW. Such a cool bucket item. No big plans today, our 11 month old needs new pajamas and I want to go to Trader Joe’s (get some crossaint bread to make French toast later this week). Enjoy this time, you and Andrew have accomplished so much this past month!

Reply

I’m going to have to copy you with the croissant bread/French toast. Thank you so much.. we are tired ha! Have a wonderful Sunday:)

Ahhh! Janae, so so happy for you! Enjoy some time eating all the food and resting! Today’s a rest day for me, so no running but we are going to church, hanging out with my in-law’s and eating some Liberian potato greens for dinner (my fav!)
Have an awesome day!!

YES… I think it helped to make me really get in some good resting. I hope you are doing well and any races soon?!

Reply

Yes doing well thanks for asking! I ran the NYC half! It was amazing. Definitely didn’t race it as I didn’t have a solid training block in but I am ramping up training and I have some shorter distances lined up, 4M and 5M races. Really wanted to get a spring marathon but it doesn’t look like it will pan out so I will just have to wait for the NYC marathon in the fall. I can’t wait :) and I will get to volunteer for the Brooklyn half – can’t wait to cheer for all 28,000 runners :)

Congratulations Janae!!!!
