Silentish Saturday and Mer’s Surprise 90th!

****MEGAN has just released Innovated Fitness.  She now offers three strength training programs on the app and it is subscription based… a runner’s specific plan, a general fitness program and a fitness program for beginners.  Each workout has video clips to show you how to do the moves along with the pdf and the workouts are delivered to you weekly for the upcoming week.  Use the code HUNGRY before 12/31 at midnight and get $10 off—> GO HERE to get it!

It sure feels nice to have her home again.

He chose the treadmill.  I am amazed… I could not have gone that far on a treadmill.  He ended up finishing with 18 miles (the plan called for 18-20) instead and he has 14-16 today.  He might be regretting saying yes to doing this with me haha.

It was really slick and icy so the treadmill really was our best option.

My workout—>. 9 miles @ 7:15 average.  I had a lot on my mind and just needed to push myself a little bit so that is what I did.  7:15 pace did not feel anywhere close to how comfortable it used to feel but that’s okay because this training is very different.

We had a bunch of family coming over (my cousins that I haven’t seen in years and years) so we picked up donuts and I got a few weird stares being in my shorts at the store.

And then we got ready to take my cousins and their kids to go sledding.

My nieces and nephews came too!

I would love to try Megan’s app! Do you know if there is cardio incorporated into the workouts?

Reply

HEY KIMBERLY!!! I hope you do, she is amazing! There are plyometric exercises that are meant to raise your heart rate but there aren’t any sprints or anything on cardio equipment. I love doing her strength workouts after a run! Have a beautiful day.

3 things I’m doing today:
1) I just finishing running 5 miles. Your recommendation of COLD was excellent. Looking forward to the rest of the podcasts.
2) Taking my 4 yr old out today to use her scooter Santa brought. It’s 45 degrees here so taking advantage before winter comes.
3) Hoping to get my family on board to take down Christmas. ?

3) resisting all of my grandmothers chocolate chip cookies that she sent with us :)

Also HOW did he do 18 on the treadmill?!

Safe travels Stacy! HAHAHAH EAT THE COOKIES!!!! Cookies from grandma’s taste better than normal cookies. I’m not sure ha… I’ll have him write a post about it though:). Have a beautiful day Stacy!

Oh my goodness, I could die!! The picture of Mer from across the table is just the sweetest!
Congrats to so many miles on the treadmill, that’s just crazy!

Reply

SHARSTI!! I was thinking about you just the other day! I’m so glad you said hi today:) . I MISS YOU!

Reply

MAJOR props to Andrew for doing 18 miles on the treadmill! Sounds like he made the right call though and that’s some great mental training!

Reply

I once ran 18 miles on the treadmill! I listened to two podcasts and then music for the last 6 miles and I still almost lost my mind. Looking forward to hearing how Andrew got through it!
Happy Birthday to Mer!!!

Reply

What a fun surprise birthday! I love that! And wow to Andrew for 18 on the treadmill. Today’s 3: ran on the treadmill (and then wiped out on the ice while walking the dog later so good call on the treadmill), cooking through Joanna Gaines’ cookbook, and renovating our drop zone area. Demo just got done and now we’re on to building/finishing.

Reply

10 miles on the treadmill today since it was 1º outside when I started :)

BTW—I’ll be getting my very own treadmill soon and I just realized it is the same that you have! I’m deciding on which room to put it in… How high is your ceiling in the room where you use yours? Can you use the full 40% incline? How high is the deck at 40%? thx!

Reply

Oh I am so excited that you are getting that treadmill… it is great! The ceiling in there is 8 feet and we can use it at 40% incline in there if you are a bit back on the belt and not right up at the front of the treadmill. GOOD LUCK and 1 degree… that’s ridiculous!

Reply

I set a goal this year to run 1,000 miles and I met that goal today! Now, to decide on 2019’s goal!

Reply

RACHEL, HUGE HUGE HUGE CONGRATS ON YOUR GOAL! That is awesome! Let me know what you do for your 2019 goal!

Reply

I love this post! Oh Mer! All great pictures!
Go Andrew!! That is impressive!
1. Go say goodbye to Mer??
2. Shed some tears as I leave Utah
3. Drive home with my family and think back on all the fun moments from this trip?

Reply

1) 12.5 miles running, 4 miles walking “cool” down (ha, ha) (11F at the start, 27F at the end, thank goodness for hot hand warmer packs!)
2) made cinnamon swirl bread for holiday gifts
3) annual “birthday” dinner with friends tonight
(notice no where in there did I say I got the laundry folded and put away…oops)

Reply

Aw! Thank you for sharing Mer’s birthday party with us! She is just beautiful–I can tell she’s truly beautiful inside and out—-you and your girls also take after her :)

Reply

Happy belated birthday to Mer. I remember running 20 miles on a treadmill a few years ago and that was enough for me. I was able to watch TV so it wasn’t as bad as you would think but without TV…I don’t know.

Yesterday I worked, worked, and worked…so…LOL…how exciting. Enjoy your Sunday Janae.

Your grandma and family are so cute! In the collage of 4 photos, is your mom in the center of the lower right corner photo with the blue shirt?

I love Brooke’s hat.

Congratulations on the treadmill run, Andrew! That is so awesome and impressive.
