HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKYE!!
I seriously cannot believe that she is now one. This year flew by! She has brought so much happiness to our family and has brought us all even closer together.
I feel beyond lucky to be her mama.
It’s crazy how much she has changed over the last year.
Our Friday—> We all woke up about 25 minutes before we needed to leave and somehow made it to school on time.
Treadmill day. 8 miles @ 8:27 average with very sore legs from the snow running the day before.
After school—> Drive up to SLC.
The coolest vending machine in the world…You can donate cows, goats, sewing machines, food, glasses etc to those in need and we waited in line to do this for about 45 minutes. There were SO many people donating and we got there before it was busy… so cool!
Shopped around City Creek for awhile.
My in-laws took us out to Cheesecake Factory.
Pasta brings me so much joy.
So do brownie sundaes.
We sung happy birthday to her.
And then walked around Temple Square for awhile.

Today, I am meeting up with a running friend to hit some trails before driving up North for a 49er game tomorrow. My sister and BFF are coming along so I am super excited and we’re hitting up the Lululemon outlet on the way there!

I cannot believe how much Skye has changed either! She is adorable! I am glad she had such a nice family celebration on the 1st anniversary of her birth! This is a sign of a full happy life I am sure.
Today my parents are in town and they will join us at our son’s Basketball class. Next Chick-fil-a (our son’s self-imposed tradition after Basketball) for lunch, and then swimming at the YMCA.

My girls are headed to a Christmas party at my Mom’s neighborhood and I think my husband said we are looking for a new car. I need a new car but I don’t want to look AT ALL. Anyone have a Kia Sorento?? I need something not too big, with 3rd row option, and decent in the snow, with enough space for me to put my work therapy bag and some other materials. Then hoping to have a relaxing evening without kids which never happens. Laying off some workouts for a couple days as I have some annoying hip pain that I am fairly positive will go away if I just take a few days off, easier said then done…

I had one and loved it! My sister and aunt both have them and love them. They are nice affordable vehicles that look expensive. I would have gotten another but I needed a little more space behind the third row for cellos when we carpool. I loved mine.

Three things I’m doing today:
1. Short run (Ps – Went to a PT yesterday and they did a full exam on my knee. Nothing horribly wrong with it, they tested for any soft tissue tears and even did an x-ray. It seems like my right glute doesn’t activate at all and my hips are a little uneven BUT I’m gonna be okay!!)
2. Definitely taking Eve to the dog park at some point because I’ve neglected all her all week
3. Girlfriends holiday party this evening! Friends + Christmas pajamas + Cookie making :)

Today is my daughter’s first ballet performance. She is a cherry! Then it’s off to a neighborhood progressive Christmas Dinner. Our neighborhood loves getting together. I could not ask for a better place to live. Then I need to do gift wrapping for my daughter’s 4th Birthday next week. Time definitely goes by too fast with little ones!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKYE!!! I can’t believe she’s a year old already, either. I feel like I just read your post about Brooke’s first birthday. I hope everyone has a wonderful day celebrating Skye, the cutie pie! Also, the binky in her mouth…!!! My first and my last were my only binky babies and I swear my favorite thing in the world was always their binky smiles! ? Ah, take me back! Well, some days, haha!
Today for us… making a casserole for the ward Christmas breakfast (in the oven), 16 year old off to the ACT (check), making hats for kids at the outpatient center at the local children’s hospital, and sorting/repackaging/prepping my Disneyland necklaces for my Etsy store restock (alright, that was four things…sorry). Not to brag or anything, but it’s pretty exciting around our house today, haha! ?
Happy birthday again to Skye. I really hope you and Andrew get a moment to soak it all in, too. I know you each have been through difficult times where you may not have thought a day like today would happen for you, but here it is! I’m happy for your entire family, Janae! ❤️

It was my middle child’s bday yesterday, she turned 12. We are doing her party today and she’s a big cat lover so she requested to go to a cat shelter where you can pay to hang out and lounge with some nice adoptable cats. Should be fun!

We’re going to another daughter’s piano recital, this AM, helping a friend work on building her house, and then practicing a song I get to play organ WITH A GUY WHO’s PLAYING THE BAGPIPES in our Christmas church service on the 23rd!!! Going to be epic! Getting supplies to make gingerbread houses with the family. And this evening is my running girls dinner at one of their homes- Ahhh, ❤️ them! Going to be a great day!

This morning I taught Body Flow when I didn’t really want to–I’m just tired and achey right now from so much time sitting down grading (and so much time to sit down over the rest of the week ahead of me…), but it wound up being a really solid class. I apologized in advance for any choreography screw-ups and for having the same playlist as the week before because it’s finals time and I am spending so much time grading papers. The people in class seemed to be VERY kind and awesome and understanding. And somehow by the end of class it felt as magical as a class where I am on my game. I have to work at the store all afternoon, and I am HOPING LIKE CRAZY that I have nice customers coming into the store nistead of some of the very entitled-acting people we can get. And tonight, I am grading papers.
Last weekend was for celebrating my 5K (even when I “pre-gamed” by having ice cream and cake the day before my run), and this weekend is for putting my head down and just getting WORK done. And once all of the work is totally done? A very luxurious pedicure (and paying extra for the ‘sports pedicure’ treatment with extra sugar scrub on the legs…) and manicure. Every dang penny will be worth it!

I did my long run (10 miles) in a complete downpour! I had to slow in some places due to humongous puddles in the road, but I stayed upright and kept moving. Now I’m recovering like it’s my job.

Happy 1st bday Skye! That 1st bday is the best! I ran a marathon today! What jacket do you wear for running in the rain? I ran that entire race in the rain and 4 hours in the rain is a looong time. So i was freezing for the majority of it. And i was wishing I had a better cover for that. My thin jacket just soaked up the rain. Not my time goal as my body crashed hard last 3 miles but I did it when I thought about quitting!

Happy birthday Skye! My three things – I had an awesome day! First – I ran a 12.5 mile leg in a 100 mile relay to raise awareness for multiple sclerosis. It was brutal because there was so much snow on the trails and it was so hilly. But I was able to feel in touch with nature and grateful the entire 4 hours it took me to finish! Second I drank the best hot cocoa and Pepsi to rehydrate. Third – watching the Hiesmsn trophy award ceremony with my husband!
