Well, that was a really lame day!

Long story short, I have a nice case of mastitis (feeling a lot better now but goodness gracious I was in a lot of pain yesterday… thank you antibiotics for helping) and we hung out at the airport for 13+ hours.  Frontier kept telling us that our flight was delayed for a little bit and then there was never a plane for us and finally they cancelled the flight.  I got a tad bit frustrated by the end;)  We bought last minute tickets from American Airlines now so hopefully we get there today.  So for now, I am just going to share a bunch of pictures from before 7 pm yesterday (because at that point I was not doing so hot).  I hope your weekend is a great one and cross your fingers we get out to Kentucky!

Awe friend, I have had mastitis and it was truly one of the worst experiences I’ve had! I cannot begin to imagine being stuck in the airport all day with mastitis… you are amazingly tough!!! I remember my doc telling me to really rest up with that so hopefully you can get that today!

Ooooh no! I’m furious for you! That’s so lame!!! Flight issues are bad…but flight issues with kids, a newborn and mastitis! Ugh! Sending you some good travel vibes today!

OMG I hope you feel better quick! I had mastitis when my son was 9 months old (nursing less which apparently clogged my duct and caused the infection) — I had never felt so sick in my entire life! Feel better xoxoxo

So far all of this happened on the same day! You are a strong woman! Will think of you during my run this morning and will hope you guys are in the sky somewhere ha I am doing 8 miles including speed intervals and 50 burpees! We have a date night which is pretty rare for us (we have no family around to watch our little one). Good food and a movie! Can’t go wrong with that :-)

Oh my goodness janae – so sorry! Mastitis and canceled flight! I’m glad you got antibiotics – amazing how quickly that helps you feel better. So sorry you guys all had to go through that yesterday at the airport!

Oh my goodness! That’s crazy – I hope you guys all make it to Kentucky without any more delays – 13 hours is inane! Headed up to the mountains today :).. Trail marathon – the race raises money for mental health which I think is a great cause, then a night away and hopefully dinner out and a nice salt bath. Looking forward to the weekend away!

Have a great time in Kentucky and hope the rest of your day goes well:)

Aww – Tina Muir just posted about this on tinamuir.com – she had mastitis too – she read up on it and said sometimes it’s stress induced? Might be worth reading her blog – she got antibiotics, too. Good luck and glad you are feeling better! That flight delay is CRAAAAZY…..makes me nervous about a Delta flight I have later in the year to a race LOL

Oh my gosh. What a nightmare of a day!! I’m so sorry! Today we are staining a fence and doing yard work. ? Not the most fun but it’s gotta be done. I hope you make it and that you heal quickly! ❤️

Oh my goodness! What a day for you and your little family! I’m so sorry! I hope you make it to Kentucky today without incident!
Today I’m running 13 miles (well, 13.1, because stopping at 13 would be wrong) and then I’m making strawberry jam and cherry jam. It’s time to stock up for the year! Once I started making my own jam, store bought just doesn’t taste good anymore. And then grocery shopping for the week. It’s a really exciting day over here. Ha! ;)
Wishing you safe and happy travels!

Oh no! I am so sorry. I went running with my friends, then went for a dog hike in the woods with my friend and her dog, and I am sitting out in my backyard looking at the lake that I just plunged into. So I’m sorry, I’m not trying to brag – just trying to make you think of happier thoughts :-) fingers crossed for today! I know that you will have a fabulous time once you get TO Kentucky :-) I hope that you are feeling better too . my friend had mastitis and it was super painful.

ARGH!!! I feel for ya! I had a big delay last weekend when travelling (to a wedding) and have had mastitis…but not both together! Just think of the mental toughness you are banking for your next marathon! Hang in there, Janae!

Wow! You must be racking up some good karma after that day!

Today is the first day in at least 2 months that my husband and I both have free, so we’ll be finding all the shady spots in City Park, going to the New Orleans art museum, and redoing Doughnut Day with beignets. I’m with you on a disappointing Doughnut Day. Fortunately, there are beignets.

Omg!! That’s nuts. I would have asked to switch my flight after just a few hour delay (I have no patience hah). Hope you get there smooth today!

Three things I’m doing today:
1. First run of summer training with my running club was this morning! So good to see everyone!
2. Yoga
3. Dog park

I would lose my mind being in an airport for that long. I hope the rest of your travels go smoothly!
Three things:
– I ran 3 miles this morning and then went to a HIIT workout for an hour…I’m ready for a nap! But isn’t it amazing how awesome you feel after hard workouts?!
– I’m going to Trader Joe’s today which is always fun! Time to stock up!
– I’m thinking I might treat myself to a pedicure today. Sounds like a nice treat!

Mastitis + delayed flight with kids= worst day ever!! I got clogged ducts when I was engorged after birth, and it was literally THE WORST, I know mastitis is like 100x worse so I’m so sorry! I hope your day today is way better.

I went on a run this morning and it was already 80+ degrees at 8am so that was hard. My husband is a teacher so we are getting him new running shoes today as a prize for surviving the school year ?.

Oh no!! I had mastitis when my daughter was about 8 weeks old. It was absolutely awful and thank God for antibiotics!! I hope you’re feeling way better now and I hope you guys make it out to Kentucky! What a nightmare day!!

I don’t even know what to say besides that is awful that happened to your family. Of course the mom in me is just stressing thinking logistics running out of diapers, wipes, blow out clothes. Not to mention the actual kids and keeping them entertained. ??‍♀️

I hope the next part of the trip goes smoothly!! Enjoy it!!

I hope you were finally able to make it to Kentucky! I have been delayed and then cancelled after many hours and know how frustrating it can be, but never with children – way to go you guys, they looked like they were entertained throughout it all!
My day:
– 10 mile run testing my endurance on hills
– going in search of piano stand and stool for the keyboard my husband just got
– obsessively looking at the weather and course for a half marathon on June 10th that I just signed up for last night (very hilly, thus the testing my endurance today)

I hope you are feeling better soon and are able to enjoy your trip.
I love the picture of everyone with their snacks. Skye looks like she’s about to divebomb your doughnut.
Where did Knox get his shirt? It’s pretty cool. My son needs it.
I did a local 10 miler today. I was on t.v. several times warming up. I’m famous! Only not for my running. The guy who won ran it in 54 minutes. He didn’t even look wonder during his right after he crossed the finish line interview.
Have a great time in KY! Try to get a little rest.

Mastitis and 13 hour delay?!?! You deserve large amounts of sweet treats today!

3 things for me today: I just finished my triathlon with a PR and 3rd place age winner. One of those races where everything just felt great! Second I treated myself to an iced coffee which always makes me happy. And third we will be off to a few different post tri parties to hang out with friends.

Enjoy the rest of your trip. It can only go up from here right?!? ?

What a rough day! I hope you’re on a plane right now on your way to Kentucky. I have had mastitis a couple of times (first time was the worst). I even got it 6 weeks after I’d stopped breastfeeding my youngest. How in the world?! Anyway, today’s 3 things: run, Costco, and planting pepper plants.

Oh that’s so frustrating; I’m sorry you had to go through that!!! I hope you arrive A-OK in Kentucky with American! My fingers are crossed for you…and for antibiotics to keep on working and the discomfort to dissipate soon!

My three things: went to barre early this morning. My husband and I got my parents (they’re here for the weekend) from their hotel and went to brunch (I got the scrambled eggs w lobster, chives, cream cheese, and served on top of grilled sourdough), and then we went to the Georgia Aquarium, which was spectacular (even if expensive). Tonight we are going to a nice dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, King + Duke. Thankfully, we have had a break from SO MUCH RAIN over the last few weeks so it’s been fun to be out and about so much!

Stuck at the airport with little kids is HARD!
Today we’re putting down an epoxy on our garage floor. Not super exciting, but going to be awesome when it’s done! I hope.
