Silentish Saturday!!!

A rainy 6 mile run (8:54 average)… I love running in the rain and pretty much any weather condition besides the WIND.

Pre-run—> we enjoyed some coloring in Brooke’s bed.

Do you ever pay attention to people’s mailboxes?  I love to find really cool ones out there while I’m running…

Found them like this:

She is really taking hula hooping seriously.

IMG 5436

Off to lunch with some of my girlfriends.

IMG 5441

180 Tacos.  The usual.

IMG 5442

Megan D sent me home with the most delicious cookie I have ever had.  I told her she needs to open a bakery.  Now.

IMG 5443

We got to spend some time with my niece yesterday.

IMG 5447

The kids spent the morning doing extra chores to earn a dollar to spend at the dollar store.  The toy selection process is quite intense. Brooke has been wearing her mini baby carrier all around town.

IMG 5450

We grabbed a donut for them too.

IMG 5451 2

Skye was pretty excited for her new toy.

IMG 5457

I NEED THEIR ENERGY.

IMG 5462

More of this salsa verde honey lime chicken at dinner… we can’t stop.

IMG 5469 2

Mohawk game going strong.

IMG 5470

Got all of my stuff together for my long run and then started foam rolling and Knox wanted to join in.

You know you are in trouble when the WARM UP for your run is 8 miles.  The speed portion is short but it’s placed perfectly in a spot where I’m going to start feeling tired.  Good luck everyone with whatever your workouts may be this weekend!

Getting out for long run no. 2 – at least I have company this weekend:) I think a nap might be in order. And then lots of food.

Have a great long run and day!

And Skye is adorable.

TAKE A NAP and enjoy amazing food. Thanks Kristine and way to go on long run number TWO!

Cookie recipe please!!!

I just sent Megan a text to get the recipe:) I hope you are having a beautiful day and yay for your first run back Toby!

Oh my goodness, I love Skye’s little face! All of your kiddos are just adorable.
Today is stormy in Oregon, so I’m headed to the gym to get my long run done on the treadmill. Eek! Then it’s off to my daughter’s track meet and then finishing helping my son move. He’s moving out for the first time! I’m excited for him and sad at the same time. But he isn’t going far. Only about 8 blocks from home. ;)
Have a great day and enjoy that long run!!!

Reply

Oh thank you Christina! I hope your treadmill long run goes really well and that the weather gets a bit nicer for the track meet and move. You are busy today. I’m glad your son is staying close… that is hard!

I love your area rug!

Reply

Thank you! We just got it and now we are on the search for a coffee table and different couch:) Have a great day Joanna!

Reply

Would you mind sharing where you got your rug? I have been looking for one with some color because most of my living room is now greige ??‍♀️ I bought a cheap one online and it was not soft and always bunched up! Good luck with your search for a couch!

Reply

Of course! @barleshambone had it and I copied her! It is such a great rug, we are so happy with it!

Wow that store needs to do a good clean up in the toy aisle!!

Reply

The whole store looked like that… it was crazy! I hope you are having a great Saturday morning Sarah!

The kiddos are too cute!! ?
Just a 5 mile run for me today, but running 15 with the hubby tomorrow! He’s training for an Ironman!! And, this will be the first double digit post marathon run for me ?
And then I must get the house cleaned! I’ve put it off way too long!
Enjoy your long run and have a great weekend!

Reply

I love that you get to do your long run with your husband tomorrow, have a great time! Ironman… that is no joke! Good luck with the house cleaning, I’ll be joining you in that too. Thanks Wendy and have fun.

How often do you go out to lunch with your friends? I need to start doing something like that once in a while.

Discovery gateway for us today. And fingers crossed we find a truck. We’ve been looking for way too long haha.

Reply

AHHHH good luck with the truck search! Let me know if you find something. We try to go once a week but I usually make it 3 times a month! WE SHOULD GO TO LUNCH JENNY!

Reply

We should! That sounds like such a fun thing for you. We have a lot of things we need to do together haha! We are looking at one right now that seems pretty promising!

Reply

Yum! Homemade cookies always taste better than store-bought ones. It’s the love. Nothing but love!

Reply

I agree!!!

Great to see that all the kids are feeling well! 10km in freezing weather and strong wind this morning. Spring where are you?! Haha let’s call this my mental thoughness workout of the week :-)

Reply

SPRING… COME BACK!! Way to go getting out there and running 10km in those conditions, you are STRONG. Enjoy the rest of your day Mel:)

Reply

Had a 2 hr spin class this morning with all of my spin “crew”. Then I had to hop on the stairclimber for 25 minutes because it has been KEY to keeping my hips and glutes happy while increasing my speed while running. NOW, I sit and will probably take a nap. LOL! I NEED to run some errands after a while but we’ll see.

Reply

GREAT WORKOUT TODAY! You are so right about the stairclimber and you are motivating me to get back on one a few times a week. I hope your nap was perfect:)

Reply

Oh my goodness – I feel the same way about weather conditions for running! I will take rain or freezing temps, as long as it is calm, over wind any day.
I do think Brooke’s new haircut makes her look older – absolutely adorable!

Reply

Thank you so much Patti. I hope you have many months of windless running miles in your future:) I hope you are having a great night!

Reply

ran a 10K this am, and lounging around with the kids… naps and comfy clothes for sure this afternoon! I have to ask girl, how do you look so good after a run!? your hair and make up still stand a chance and look great

Reply

Way to go on your 10k this morning! I hope your nap was perfect, I took a great one too! You are way too nice. My eyelashes are fake and my eyebrows are tinted so that helps me out big time. I hope you are having a great night!

Reply

I have this urge to comment after each picture! HAHA First of all, can Skye get any cuter? Just love seeing her. The hula hoop picture? Who is that girl? Can’t believe how Brooke is growing up so fast. And of course the cookie. Is that butterscotch AND chocolate chips? I had to laugh at all the people who commented on the cookie!
I don’t have much experience running in the rain but I think I am going to enjoy it. At least I better. Moving from Wyoming to Oregon next month!

Reply

Thanks Anne! I love your comments. Butterscotch, chocolate and PB chips… I’ll post Megan’s recipe soon. They are so so good. YOU ARE MOVING… good luck with everything, keep me updated with how it all goes!

Reply

12 miler, groceries, homework. Only 1 of those things was fun! Ha. Random question – where do you get your high neck tanks for running? I cannot find any! Have a great Saturday :-)

Reply

Way to go on your 12 miler! HAHA I do not like grocery shopping either! So the one I was wearing yesterday was actually a short sleeve shirt from lululemon! At this point in my life the high neck stuff is all that works ha! Have a great rest of your weekend.

KILLER WORKOUT TODAY. You rocked it, that sounds so tough. Way to go! I hope your Sunday is a great one:)

Reply

I won my age group in an 8k and celebrated a post-baby PR.

We went to a play.

We played the hugging game with my little girl.

Also, I am seriously jealous of Skye’s mohawk. One day….

Reply

WAY TO GO KATHY!! Sounds like a perfect day and huge congrats on your 8k ag win and post-baby PR!

Reply

Megan D, you definitely need to open a bakery! Maybe a cookie truck so you can make deliveries out here to CA ;)

Reply

I am so jealous of Skye’s hair! I have a 14 month old with probably half that amount of hair and all I dream about is little pig tails in her hair! She is a seriously cute baby.

Reply

I like to walk in the rain if it is not too heavy, the feeling is just so refreshing.
