Friday Favorites + A $250 (Visa Giftcard) GIVEAWAY!!!!

The morning started out yesterday with Andrew giving Skye her first dance lesson to a few of the Killer’s songs.  I don’t think Skye was that into it but she participated to make him happy.

These kids were in their pjs until about 2 pm… Christmas break!  When the two of them are together at home, they are busy doing their own thing and imagining up their own little world.

Outfit #2 of 4 for the day for Skyeyesterday ha.  I’m telling you, laundry has gotten out of control.

I went somewhere all by myself yesterday.  Andrew told me that I needed to get out of the house for a minute so I took his advice and grabbed some lunch.  It felt so weird to be by myself completely but it was a much needed 60 minutes.   And I saw the sun.. I almost didn’t recognize it.

A 180 Tacos salad for lunch!   For the last few months of pregnancy I did not want to come near this place but it tasted just like it used to yesterday.  I missed the taste of this salad and their vinaigrette.

I came home, did the kid stuff and took the best 1.5 hour nap while Skye napped.  I can honestly say I think that it was the best nap I have ever taken in my entire life.  I woke up feeling like a new person and then a friend brought over this amazing meal.  Homemade bread, salad, chicken soup (with homemade noodles) and honey for the bread from their bees.  It was amazing!

Knox leaves tomorrow but he will be back Christmas Eve and I’m so looking forward to being all together for Christmas!

Time for some Friday Favorites!

*The Owlet (We were provided the Owlet at no cost for my review)!  This might be the best Friday Favorite I’ve ever had.  The Owlet is seriously one of the biggest reasons I don’t feel very anxious with Skye.. that was not the case with Brooke.  When Brooke was an infant I got up to check on her a million times throughout the night because I was so nervous that something bad would happen while she was asleep.   With Skye I don’t have to worry because of the Owlet.  It tracks her heart rate and oxygen levels once the smart sock is placed on her foot and she wears it all night long.  The app on my phone shows Skye’s readings which is so reassuring to me that she is okay.  Both Andrew and I have it on our phones too so we can easily check whenever.  If something was wrong with her heart rate or oxygen levels then it let’s you know in real-time what is going on (on your phone and through the notifications on the base station)!  We love the Owlet and I can’t recommend it enough to parents with a little one.  It is so nice to not have to worry about Skye during the night!

*Hannah sent this to me because she said it reminded her of me and it made me laugh so hard… I understand this dilemma daily!

*A few people sent me this picture recently and I guess it’s a good thing I’m not running right now:

*The office is coming back?  If this is true then I might cry I’m so happy!

*We made THESE hot chocolate cookies!  They are a yearly tradition for us and for a few of the cookies I added a bunch of Andes mint chocolates to make some mint hot chocolate cookies:)  They are even better with the Andes mint chocolate pieces in them, try it.

*Happy two weeks of life Skye!  I’m really happy about the fact that there are some rolls developing:)

*Costco is selling the 10 lb sweet potato bags again… they haven’t had them for a while and Andrew picked them up.  Hallelujah.

Casey!!  “I’ve run a marathon every year (and multiple 5/10ks) since 2014.  But this past year has been insanely difficult.  I broke my foot in mile 16 of my most recent marathon, the Milwaukee Lakefront in October 2016, and somehow managed to still finish.  I was in a boot for about 6 weeks.  When I was ready to return to running, I injured my piriformis and had to start physical therapy.  When that healed, I came down with my first ever case of strep throat.  About a month after strep throat, the day before I was supposed to do my first triathlon, I was diagnosed with mono.  That took me out for about a solid 2 months, effectively killing my 2017 racing season.  All in all, I missed 3 5ks, 1 triathlon, 1 tough mudder, 2 half marathons, and 2 marathons.  Talk about disappointing.  Now in December 2017, I am FINALLY healthy and back to running!  Just the other week, my long run hit 8 miles and I couldn’t have been happier.  I actually teared up when I finished the run.  It was just a super slow 8 mile easy run, but no run has ever given me a bigger feeling of accomplishment.”  You can read her awesome blog HERE!!
