First, you don’t want to miss out on this week’s baby post… it is written by Andrew and it is hilarious. I give my 32 week update and he shares 15 things not to do when your wife is pregnant. You can find it HERE!
PS we just got our family pics back from the amazing Lindsey Orton… I’m in love with them! I’ll share more soon!
7 years of blogging. That is a whole lot of posts and comments over the years:
This blog started with this post titled, ‘Awkward.’ I compared the first blog post to a first date and shared a story with you that had nothing to do with anything important in life… and my posts haven’t changed much since then. I instantly fell in love with blogging.
Over the years there have been some posts that have had more views than all of the others so I thought I would share a few of the top viewed posts (according to Google Analytics).. I’ll go in the order of them happening:
*Running and Periods. I posted this back in 2011 and I don’t think it was something that was really ever talked about that much back then online… amenorrhea. I shared my experience and so many other women shared about their experience. We all helped each other out I hope!
*5 ways to push yourself while running especially when you are tired. I posted this in 2012 and I still do all 5 things:)
*When Brooke was born and my birth story with her:) I’m pretty dang excited to experience this again!
*10 things I wish I knew as a new runner. Learn from my mistakes:)
*How I started the Hungry Runner Girl and tips to start your own blog.
*Weighing yourself… the scale. Talked about how I got on the scale after not weighing myself in a very long time (years ago I used to weigh myself daily and sometimes twice a day… obsessively) and things that had helped my body image!
*Today was another lie down on the sidewalk day. This post has my brother’s s’mores bar recipe in it so I think that is where the traffic came from:)
*Posts on how I was dealing with my divorce—> Would I do it all over again or skip over the hard part? 10 things getting me through my divorce. When it isn’t convenient. Running makes us better at life. Thank goodness for time.
*My half marathon PR (first time I broke 1:30.. and this was during a really hard part of life)!
*I talked about how much dating had changed over the years in this post!
*My Tucson Marathon Recap… the time I crashed and burned big time during a marathon after 6 months of really great training.
*On being a single mom. I wrote this post right before I met Andrew! I’m pretty open and vulnerable about the whole situation in this post.
*When I first introduced Andrew on the blog! I had never introduced anyone I was seeing on the blog until Andrew and I think that was probably a big sign to you guys that he was beyond special.
*Our proposal story! He proposed in the perfect way for me!
*When I shared that we got married (we changed the date and I didn’t write about it until the day after we got married) & our wedding with a million pictures:)
*The difference between running a marathon 30 lbs heavier + my St. George Marathon recap.
*Why the holidays can be really hard! They sure can be.
*When we shared our news that we are pregnant with another little one! Along with first trimester talk and how we found out we were pregnant and how we told our kids about the baby!
*My sister’s kitchen remodel… lots of people wanted to see this!
*15 pictures from our REALLY special day (when Andrew and I got sealed in the temple).
And I can’t wait to keep sharing more and more (I’ll continue to share probably too much information because I don’t know how to not do that) with you in the years ahead! I wanted to thank you today for being my friend (even if it is over the internet… it still counts). You have taught me a whole lot over these 7 years and I am so thankful for the connections we have been able to make together. Thank you for sharing your highs and lows with me and helping me in more ways than you’ll ever know (I get teary eyed thinking about some of the emails/comments I have received through some of the hardest times of my life). You guys mean the world to me and I love that we get to chat together each day.
Thank you for reading and to say thank you I’m buying someone (I wish I could buy all of you) some new running shoes (or if you want some running clothes instead we can chat about that if you win;)!
*Leave a comment telling me anything that you would like. Tell me about your family, your running, what you ate for breakfast, your favorite restaurant, what shoes you love or really anything that you want! A winner will be chosen using random.org on Monday (10/23)!
PS This week’s baby post is HERE!!
Tomorrow is my birthday. Happy because my oldest daughter will be home for school to spend the day with me! I took off work and we are going to have a girls day. :-)
After I hit pause on running around 28 weeks (I’m almost 36 weeks and have jogged twice since then!), I’ve been walking miles and miles and miles. Probably more walking in these past weeks than I have in my entire adult life combined. I just realized how sad my shoes are and that I’m due for a new pair. It would be great to have new ones lined up for my return to running post-baby!
I have been here for a few years and have loved hearing about your life. I was even lucky enough to meet you:) you really do feel like a close friend!!
This made me laugh because whenever I want to make your brother’s s’mores bars, I google, “hungry runner girl sidewalk s’mores bars.” I believe you posted another version in a different post, but I know to find the updated recipe in the “laid down on the sidewalk post.” Ha! They won a very heated cookie swap competition two years ago by the way. I took home first prize and won a lovely serving platter. So thank you! :)
Hi! You’re one of the few blogs I still read. I’m a twenty something in Chicago who used to be a runner and I’m trying to do more cross training and weights. Thanks for being yourself on this blog through the highs and the lows. i enjoy when you share about your faith and relationship experiences
I just wanted to say THANK YOU, Janae, for sharing your stories, and creating this amazing space. You really are a friend!
You have given me so much inspiration as a runner and about life in general! Thanks for sharing your stories :)
I’ve been following your blog for over four years now, so of course I feel like we’re the best of friends! Lol. My son, who is six, just started asking me if he could go on runs with me. Love it!!
Congratulations on the anniversary! I have been reading for 5 years now :) I would love to have a new pair of Saucony Kinvara running shoes!
Happy blog anniversary! I was reading today’s post instead of doing my glute and hip stability exercises, haha!
You are such an inspiration! I love seeing you express raw vulnerability because there are days I feel alone. I am currently in training for my first marathon with two other girlfriends. We all love your blog! I use your “My gear” section a lot to help me with my own personal gear. Thank you for everything you are putting out into this world. Sending happiness, peace, and love to you and your adorable family :)
I’m so happy that you have blogged all these years! I have reached out to you for advice and inspiration in the past and you’ve always been supportive and so kind. So I wanted to say Thank you for the past 7 years!!
I’m so happy you blog! I found your blog my second year of college and have loved reading ever since! Your positive attitude really lifts me up, so thank you for sharing your life with us all! You are an amazing person.
I can’t wait to keep reading for as long as you keep sharing!
I love reading your bog! Ran my first full marathon last Sunday and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I will definitely be sticking to the half marathon distance but I’m glad I did it! Thanks for being so open and honest and I look forward to many more blog posts!
Congratulations on 7 years, Janae! I only found your blog a couple of months ago when I was stocking up on running blogs in an effort to get my motivation back after a memorable and beautiful (Big Sur!) but ultimately disappointing (performance-wise) marathon. Good news, it worked! :)
Now I only read a couple of running blogs, but yours is by far my favorite. You definitely inspire me to get out there and run but I love that it’s more than a running blog. Reading your blog genuinely makes me happy because you and Andrew (and Brooke and Knox of course) just seem like such kind people. Oh, and I can get a taste of the autumn season that I am so desperately missing. I moved to the Bay Area last year only to discover that autumn is kind of like summer here with temperatures still in the 70s and 80s! While everyone around here seems to like that, I miss my boots, and sweaters, and apple cider donuts, and flannel. So I love seeing your autumn in Utah pictures ;)
Back to running…I enjoyed going through your old posts this morning, especially the one about the Boston Marathon ( my forever home city). You’ve renewed my desire to run Boston! And you’ve given me a new one: run St. George :)
Wow, seven years is a long time! Thanks for sharing.
I haven’t been following your blog for the full 7 years, but I’ve been with you for a good amount of time now! Yours is one of my favorite blogs to keep up with. I like to imagine that we’re friends which is especially fun since I’m pregnant and due about the exact same time you are!
Shoes! You got me hooked on Brookes
I love Brooks running shoes!,
congrats on the blog anniversary! I’ve been reading for 5. My favorite running shoe is Brooks pure cadencemary
love this recap post – fun to see how far we have come over the years isn’t it??? thank you for sharing with us…
currently loving kobacha squash… roast at 400 degrees for 25 minutes and you best be smothering it in butter, ghee or coconut oil and dipping it in trader joe’s ketchup! ;)
I can’t wait to go back and read your older posts! I have been reading for a few years and always enjoy it, randomness and all!!
1 in 400,000!! May the odds be even in (my) favor!
My run was great today! A few miles on my $25 treadmill (thank you Facebook garage sales!) and another mile with my dog :)
Thanks for blogging all of these years. I know it wasn’t easy but we all gain something from reading your words
Being pregnant and a runner I’ve really enjoyed being on this journey with you!!
I love your blog and I love free shoes. :)
What an incredible seven years! You have such a positive and genuine way of sharing about your life and I always look forward to your posts!
Looking forward to reading some old blog posts! I started reading right after you met Andrew, and have loved following your relationship!
As for running stuff, I’m a small time runner (10 – 15 miles per week) but have been dreaming of doing a half. But, I’m dealing with a hip injury right now (torn labrum, which is ridiculous for someone who runs as little as I do) which is SO FRUSTRATING. Trying to avoid surgery, so I’m doing lots of PT and only running about a mile and a half at a time a few days a week. A half marathon may be off the books forever, but I’d be so happy just to get back to where I was!
Happy Blogivesary!! You are pretty much my favorite blog to read and follow and I look forward to your pots every day!
i look forward to your daily posts, watching brooke grow up has been such a joy! you have a beautiful family!! can’t wait for the new addition!! :D
Janae, I can’t thank you enough for all you have written and continue to write in your blog. It has helped me rediscover not only my love for running but has rehashed my most therapeutic part of my day: my run. My morning run would be my “me” time, where I would prepare for whatever was coming my way or process what had happened the prior day. And i am so grateful to have this time again.
Besides that, you have a beautiful family that I ENJOY so much reading about. After my tough day of work it is the highlight of my day! I will continue to follow you throughout your time off of running and maybe one day we can talk about This Is Us!
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do!
hmm what to share…my birthday is this weekend! I’ve been reading for a few years. You inspire me to be a better runner and not to give up on anything!
I just want you to know how happy I am that I found your blog. Have a great day!
How about just the fact that I love your blog, love running, love family, love blogging myself and Brooks running shoes.
You really are my favorite blog to read! I’ve come to really enjoy your sweet little family and I hope one day to be as fast as you :) Thank you for your blog!
I am obsessed with all fall foods right now! Apples, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice!
I can’t believe that you blog EVERY DAY! That’s awesome and takes dedication – especially for 7 years! Congratulations on having the dedication it takes to keep such a great record that has helped a lot of people! I just ran my first half marathon, and my feet really took a beating, so I’m looking for some new shoes that offer a lot of great support. I’ve been looking at some Brooks shoes based on your recommendation, and I’d love to try them. I won’t be seriously training again until probably next summer when my husband finishes school and is available to watch our toddler, but I’d really like to run another half. If I find some good shoes that help my feet to not hurt so much, I might even be interested in doing an actual marathon!
Your blog is fantastic :)
My running is non existent for to a torn ACL, but I love thinking about the day I will be back. Even with an injury, I still am collecting running shoes…I love Brooks Ghosts and Pure flows!
Congratulations on the blogiversary!!!! 7 years is a long time, and we have enjoyed reading your journey. I’ve been reading your blog for about 6 years, and I always look forward to your posts.
As for running….. you’ve gotten me hooked on the Brook Launch!
Thank you for a great blog. you are a beautiful person inside and out. I enjoy reading your blog , thank you for sharing your life with us.
I’m currently pretraining for a Boston qualifier marathon!
Michele at Everyday Snapshot
Aww, I would so love to try a pair of those running shoes ! Today, I’m sick, with the flu so not much to comment except I sure hope I feel a whole lot better tomorrow.
Happy Blogiversary! I would love to win some Altras!
Every time I read your blog, it makes me smile :) Thank you.
ps: running Toronto’s Waterfront 21k this weekend, woohoo!
Thanks for sharing your life with us! I look forward to reading your blog each day. I love Brooks pure flows!
I came across your blog a couple of years ago and have loved reading it! Thanks for sharing your life with us readers!
I really enjoy your blog! Your beautiful pictures of the scenery have inspired me to check out Utah over Christmas break. I can’t wait to snowboard… the running may be a struggle due to elevation change, but it will be fine, right?!
I’m a medical student and the pictures you’ve posted on your blog make we want to apply to residency in Utah. There’s a famil med one in Provo that sounds nice so. . .
I love that you don’t find out your weight. I typically don’t get weighed at doctor’s appointments and generally piss off nurses. My 6 year old’s class had a wedding for “Q” and “U” today. My shy little girl with a strong aversion to any attention on her had many stressed out sobbing episodes ( and she rarely cries) today and then they pulled her name to be the bride! Luckily her teacher let her back out. Weddings are emotional.
I coach middle school cross country and our boys won State on Saturday!!!
I am pregnant, too with my second! Also expecting a girl. I miss pain free running with no pressure on my bladder! Happy blog-iversary! :)
I’m laying here in a weird position, pillows under my neck because I threw my back out or something today. I don’t even know how. Anyway I’ve enjoyed your blog since I found it. I love all the random thoughts because I have random thoughts when I read it. Congratulations on your blogiversary. Wishing you more success in the future and you are so darn cute pregnant. Hi to the family. Glad they’re cool with being on the blog. It’s fun to get a glimpse of what your life is like.
I’m a long time reader! Thanks for always being you and being so honest. So refreshing in today’s world.
Congrats on lucky #7!
Wow 7 years!! Congrats!! I found this blog 2 years and 2 months ago and I’ve been a daily reader ever since then!! I love how down to earth your posts are! And even though you’re a super amazing runner you share the good and the bad and make the posts relatable to runners of all levels!
I love love love Brooke’s running shoes. I won’t run in anything else! I would love to win a new pair :) Happy 7 years of blogging!!
I’ve been reading your blog since I first started running in 2013! I’ve loved seeing how your life has changed in those 4 years and how so much of yours posts have become super relevant as my running career has progressed. Happy Blogiversary!
Nicole @ Bento Momentos
What a cute recap post! I’m not sure how I found your blog but I started following you when I was a college freshman (about 6ish years ago) and continue to enjoy reading your thoughts until this day. Keep smiling through life!
Your blog has always been a daily read <3
So happy I found your blog several years ago!
I love your blog and that we became friends because of it. I love your positivity and that seeing you love running so much makes me love it even more. You’re so inspiring to me in so many ways. I really look up to you.
I’m definitely going to go re-read some of those old posts. I remember getting a lot of strength from them.
You’re the best. Let’s do lunch soon please. Happy 7th Anniversary!!!!
I am a mama to 4 boys- 7, 5, 3, and 1! I used to love my running time because it was my quiet, alone time…then my husband’s work schedule changed! Now I run pushing my two little boys in the jogging stroller while my two big boys ride their bikes. It is hard and it took a few weeks to find a good system and rhythm, but now I actually really enjoy the time I get to spend with my boys exercising and talking!
I saw that there were 666 comments and had to write something to change that! Ha Love your blog, can’t wait to see what happens next!!!
So happy I found your blog so long ago, it’s been a daily read!
I am so close to breaking that 1:30 half marathon barrier. I am praying that I can achieve my goal in the next year. Do you think that if you could dedicate that accomplishment to one thing, what might that be?
Gahh, can’t believe it’s been 7 years! I’ve been following your blog for about 4 years now and have even gone back and read your blogs from the beginning! You’ve grown so much and I’m loving this chapter in your life best! It will change once baby girl arrives and I’ll love that chapter even more! Keep on inspiring us!
I am about 6 weeks out from CIM where I’ll make an attempt for sub 2:50. Hoping the day comes together smoothly for a PR! Training in the summer here in Phoenix better pay off! ; )
I love your blog and can’t believe it has been 7 years! You keep me motivated when I have slumps in running! Thank you for being so honest and “real life!”
Happy blogging!! It’s so nice to read about running On a blog that is so relatable!
I found your blog when I really wanted to learn about running. You taught me a lot more and ultimately found out I was pregnant because of a sign you said in your blog years ago about your legs feeling like concrete. Happy for you and your family, glad I could read along throughout your journey!
I love your blog! You are always so open and such an inspiration to all. Hoping for many more years of reading HRG :)
bfast this morning was a cup of pumpkin flavored coffee and a homemade sweet potato banana quinoa flour muffin (I loooove to bake and I love to experiment with different types of healthy ingredients). I have a homemade muffin EVERY morning before my run- it’s the perfect amount of nutrition to get me through any distance!
Yesterday I got my period for the first time in a year!!!!! YAYYYY! No more amenorrhea :D
Happy 7 years!
I have been reading for 5 years since I started running— you have been so relatable for me right on running and life!! I had such a similar pregnancy to yours (from what I’ve read)! My babe is 9 months now and as you know it is a blessing to be pregnant but it’s SO much better when they are on the outside!! Excited for you!
Happy 7 Years! My favorite posts have been since you met Andrew – I hope to meet my own “Andrew” some day! Or maybe I already did :)
I started following in the past year and cannot wait to hear Baby Girl’s name!
Lucky #7! It’s going to be a great year for you. Congrats! I started following when I was pregnant with my first (5 years ago!) when I googled running while pregnant :)
Love your blog and watching your family grow! I have been out of the run game (literally) since July after breaking my foot and am so looking forward to getting back too it!
Congratulations on an amazing 7 years!
I just love seeing how you have kept so positive and strong during hard times! Thank you for sharing your life and experiences! Something random: we learned the hard way that a toddler can be totally normal one second and the next have a spiked fever (child wasn’t acting sick AT ALL throughout the day!) that causes a febrile seizure! Scary! And it takes a few hours after for them to gain control of their speech and movement. Our little guy twitched for awhile after and couldn’t move the left side of his body for an hour. Apparently this is common with children under 6. Our local hospital sees about 3 every 24 hours! I knew if they already have a fever and you cool them down too quickly they can seize but I had no idea a fever spiking on its own could do it! #FirstTimeParenting ?
Happy Blogavesary! I can’t wait to hear the baby’s name!
Love, love, love your blog!
Happy Anniversary to your blog! I love following along each day with you! I found your blog about 2 years ago right after I had started running. Thanks for being so honest and open!
I love those smores bars!!
Congrats on this milestone! I also love treadmill running- out of necessity as a stay at home mama to a toddler. I do look forward to my husband being home on the weekends so I can hit the trails. We have recently moved to the Pacific Northwest and I would love a recommendation for a water resistant running shoe.
Love your positivity, keep it up!
Congrats on 7 years Janae!! So happy for you. I ran 4.5 miles this morning with my sisters who are visiting me this weekend so it was a good day! We ate yummy food and shopped- the perfect weekend for us =)
happy blogiversary! thank you for sharing all you do, I love reading about your life’s adventures and your cutest family and of course all of your running and eating :)
I am looking forward to my first run in 3 weeks next week!! I’m in the midst of doing some field work for my job and while i love being out on the ocean im beyond ready for some dry land and to get back to racking up those miles.
I’m glad you started blogging, your blog is great!
My random thing: next month I’m running my first out-of-state race. Can’t wait!
Your blog has been a daily part of my life for 5 years now! Wow! Thank you for sharing so much of your life!! Your posts have motivated me and inspired me and sometimes are just a highlight of my day. I wrote you a personal email a few years ago and your response meant so so much to me. Happy blog anniversary!!! And congratulations on the new baby :)
Congrats on his milestone! I always so look forward to your post because of their honesty and broad range of topics that they cover. Can’t wait to see what’s in store next!
Happy Anniversary & Congratulations! I have read your blog for the last few years and it has been really awesome to witness how happy you look these days. I recently bought a pair of Brooks Levitate (though I love the blue colour) based on your review and I am loving them so far. Thanks!
I’ve been following you for YEARS! You’re so darling and inspiring in many ways. Congrats on your blog-iversary!
I can’t believe how long I’ve read your blog and how things have changed. Congratulations!
I’ve used you as running motivation for years. It always works and makes me smile. Thanks for being you!
I had banana bread for breakfast…with butter on top, of course! Happy 7 years to you and your blog. :)
I really enjoy following you since i don’t follow other blogs. I really feel i can relate to a lot of things you discuss. I just had my baby boy 1 month ago so totally get your pregnancy. Can’t wait to hear about your girl and meet her. I am trying to figure out when to start training and what my next marathon will be. I am trying to run one in all 50 states. I may wait until fall. But it could be Chicago since i still meet the qualifying times, St. George since you make it sound so awesome, or Idaho or South Dakota since my pace crew paces there (more trying to pick places for a free stay lol). Thanks for being so real and honest. I suffered from amenhorrea and your posts helped so much. Keep being you!
It’s 4:28am where I am… am I up to run? No… I’m up nursing my one month old baby boy! Get ready, this life is coming for you! (also I can’t wait to run again!)
I’m writing this at 4:30am, while I drink my coffee before jumping on the treadmill. I always do this and it’s so crazy that I voluntarily get up this early, that sometimes when my friends ask me what time I wake up, I just don’t answer the question. Runners are nuts. ;)
I love following your little family! You are such a positive influence. It is wonderful to see all the changes in your life over the years.
Congratulations on you blog anniversary! Have been reading for years and just love the blog. Thanks for letting us into your life.
Happy blogiversary! I have been reading your blog for years and you are such a running inspiration to me! Brooke is so precious and I’ve loved watching her grow and all the obstacles you have overcome with running being one of your outlets. Congrats on the newest little one on the way! Can’t wait to read about her soon!
Tiffany @ The Chi-Athelte
Happy blogiversary! I still enjoy all of your oldies and return to them QUITE often for motivation. <3 Please never leave the internet. :D
Your blog has helped me through various trails of life!! Thank you!!! It has also given me reason in my own life to look around and be grateful. Your blog has also provide me with entertainment, laughter and joy. I appreciate you sharing your life so that me/we can know others have experienced similar events and you can overcome or you are not alone. I’m sure at times it’s not the easiest thing to do…..it is work BUT a huge thank you to you as well as your family.
I love to read your blog!
I will be 6 weeks post partum with baby 3 this weekend and I am looking forward to running again (I am counting down the hours!!). I had severe SPD this pregnancy and so I haven’t run since about 24 weeks (walking became almost impossible by the end). I gave myself the full doctor recommended six weeks to recover and am planning on getting back in slowly to avoid any injury this time around…I like to get back to hard, too fast.
Thank you for sharing your life through the good and the bad. Your openness is amazing! I would love new shoes because my favorites just met their end after a extremely rainy marathon with lots of mud. One thing about me similar is that my sisters are my best friends and I live with two of them currently.
I love your blog. I’m so happy I stumbled upon it five years ago. Our daughters are close in age, so it’s fun to watch Brooke grow up and change!
Happy blogiversary!! I’m just getting back to running after having my second baby, so I love reading about your running mother experiences!!
Happy blogiversary!! I’m just getting back to running after having my second baby, so I love reading about your running mother experiences!!
I love your blog! Our daughters are close in age and now I’m due again in April! So fun to follow along on your journey!
I’ve likely contributed to half the traffic on the smores bar recipe post!
I’ve been following you since 2012! Today I’m getting ready to take off on a weekend trip with the husband and some friends to explore Louisville, KY!
Hope you and the fan enjoy the weekend!
I’ve been following along for a few years now and love reading your running posts and seeing your cute kiddos! Thanks for sharing your lives with us!
My favorite thing about running is time I get to run with my husband. We are both very busy and this is a great way to do something healthy together.
Happy blogiversary! I’ve been reading your blogs g daily for 4 years. Your openness and honesty definitely helped me get through some tough times in my life. Thank you for your daily posts!
Happy blogaversary! So much has changed since I started reading, seems like you’re in a very happy place right now!
Happy 7 year anniversary!! Your blog is more than just another blog. You are so genuine and funny and you really draw us in to your life so we truly feel we are friends with you. I started reading back when you were in California with your treadmill on your balcony. I was new to running and training for my first marathon and trying to keep the motivation going and happened upon your blog. I have gotten other girlfriends reading as well over the years. Thank you for your consistent posts that have inspired and entertained. You are simply the best! Sending love from Michigan to all of you.
Great post! I enjoyed going back to read some of the older ones. Happy Blogiversary!
I’m not a fast or particularly great runner but I always find your posts motivating, genuine and uplifting. Happy blogiversary!
Reading from WI where the colors are beautiful but I sure love seeing Utah and it’s mountains! Beauty!
Congrats on 7 years! Here is to many more amazing ones!
Happy blogiversary! I have been following along for about 5 years and I just want to say how much I admire you as a runner and a mom. I always get so motivated when I read your blog — even though I stick to much shorter distances usually! I just love that your blog feels like a place for friends. Here’s to many more years in the blog-o-sphere!
Happy anniversary for the blog! I have always enjoyed reading because you are a huge inspiration for my own running and even more so recently because I am trying to get pregnant and your views on body positivity and being kind to yourself are encouraging for me.
Thank YOU for sharing!! I always look forward to your posts, and I feel like I know you and your family (even though I’m all the way over in DC) :) Seriously, your posts light up my day! And motivate me to kick my own butt on my runs :) Something about me is…it’s 60 degrees and not humid (WOOHOO) so I’m hoping to go outside and get a run in before heading to the doctor. I have Type 1 diabetes and have to go to doctors ALL. THE. TIME. which is super stressful (I feel like they are judging my progress with this disease) and a run beforehand usually helps me calm down. Thanks again for sharing!!
Happy Blogiversary!!! I have been following and reading up on you since about 2013 :) I love you positive attitude and you have helped me tremendously when it comes to motivation to get out there and run :) I hope you have a great day!! Cheers to many more years of blogging :)
Congrats on your blogiversary! I’ve always enjoyed reading about your life. You’ve got so many good things going right now; I’m excited to keep reading!
I have enjoyed your blog over the last few years. You really are my favorite blogger. Running, food, family, daily posts and lots of fun pictures; you cover all the bases.
Happy blogoverdary! It’s nice of you to celebrate the way you are (<<mean that two ways!!).
I just wanted to super recommend the podcast CTolleRun. I always save her pods for the latter portion of my LR– always gives me the grit and determination to follow thru.
Might actually comment again with this so you see it amongst all the others ha..
You go girl!
Congrats on your blogiversary!! I remember reading when your posts were in all different colors and I’ve really enjoyed reading through these different stages of life. I am a little bit older than you but had my first baby a few months after you had Brooke and loved relating to you on becoming a mom! Your positivity through the hard phases of it really impacted me and helped me see the silver linings in sometimes difficult moments. Thank you for being so open and positive!
I love your blog! I’m trying to get out of a slump in my life and always look forward to reading your posts for inspiration and a positive perspective. Happy blogiversary!
Your blog is always the first that I visit in the morning!
Congrats! I’ve been struggling to get my running groove back. I thought signing up for a half marathon for charity that I love would help, but it’s been a struggle. Your blog has helped me through some of that.
Thank you for blogging! Reading your blog helps motivate me when I’m not sure if I really want to run. I’ll especially need advice on running in the snow as I’m moving from California to Boston and have no idea what I’ll be doing :)
Love reading your blog and keeping up with your fam on Instagram. Also, I would love a pair of running shoes from the running expert herself!
I love following your blog! Thanks for the giveaway!
Happy Blogiversary! I love following along your adventures, and I really appreciate your positivity and openness! My 3-year-old son told me this morning that he changed his mind about his Halloween costume (which I already bought)… so it looks like we are back to the drawing board! Have a great weekend!
Happy 7 years! Thanks for always being uplifting. Many times I am tired and cranky in the mornings while reading blog posts; but your posts are always so positive that I leave telling myself to get over being cranky :).
Love love love your blog! Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing through all the ups and downs of life and running – having moved to a new city last year running has been huge – in meeting friends. Spending time etc and I’m thankful for blogs like yours that help keep me motivated!
Happy anniversary! So fun to celebrate this big accomplishment! Today is my rest day; we’re drinking hot cider, painting pumpkins and listening to jazz. Pretty great Friday!
Happy Blogiversary!!!! I need to start running again regularly (well it’s more walrunning with a lot more of walking ) but I’m just not motivated to do so because I have never loved running.
I love this post happy blogiversary!! I love how open you are always! After I had a c-section with my daughter who is almost 3 now, I struggled with getting back into running and still do I lost so much abdominal and hip strength/flexibility that it can be a challenge but I always look forward to your post you make running such a positive and don’t focus so much on the fastest PR. I love the example your setting for others around you especially your children and I strive to do the same!
HBD to the blog!
We went rock climbing this morning + slowly but surely I’m getting slightly better at trusting the whole process. I got dropped off the wall [no injuries!] a few months ago + I’m really struggling to trust my belayer now…even though I know they’d never drop me. It’s weird how the mind fights you + ends up making you weaker physically because it won’t let you take the risk!
Awe I love this post! Can’t believe you have been blogging for so long, that is amazing! I have followed you for years now and you have helped me so much! I have a half marathon coming up next weekend and I am so nervous because my knee has been acting up bad. I had a goal pace but with my knee I just want to finish in a decent time.
I was just thinking that I need to go buy some new running shoes this weekend! Thanks for the giveaway and hope you have an amazing weekend :)
I just found your blog and it has been so inspiring! I have always run, but need to put more of an emphasis on track, interval, and hill workouts to get faster. You are already helping! thanks!!
Also, treadmills are amazing. I am definitely team treadmill. All for the safe, 5 am runs in the warm!
Just found out we’re pregnant with baby #4! And no one knows yet ?
Happy 7 Years Blogging! Your blog is awesome for running motivation! My favorite shoes are definitely Brooks – I’m currently wearing the Launch!
Congrats! Here’s to another 7 years!
So fun to walk down memory lane with you, Janae. Thanks for sharing your story here and I hope to be able to scroll through your log when I, mysellf, am pregnant one day! Cheers to your fit pregnancy!
