Twenty one WEEKS is here! I’m feeling the best I have so far this pregnancy (I don’t take Zantac anymore!!) and I’m loving that!
*I think the kids love the fact that I take a lot more downtown each day than normal. My normal self loves to be busy and running around but I’m not like that anymore. If I don’t have to be busy, you’ll find me like this. I’m going to transfer this over to after I have the baby a bit too. It feels really nice to slow down.
*This same thing happened when I was pregnant with Brooke—> My sun spots are like 40 times brighter than they normally are (and I slather on the sunscreen each day). I also get these weird freckle/dots (and a million of them) where the sun don’t shine when I am pregnant too… does that happen to anyone else?! My OBGYN says that hormones affect pigmentation and that is what is going on… it’s amazing how much our bodies change during pregnancy!
*38 miles last week including a half-marathon. This was my 4th half-marathon for this pregnancy and most likely my last. With Brooke I did one at 30 weeks and I’m more than okay with this one probably being my last for a while. I might do one next month if I’m feeling really good but I’ll probably switch over to the 10k now!
*Our little one is now around 10.5 inches long (according to the internet).
*We have our big/long ultrasound appointment to check everything out this Friday and I am beyond excited for it. I so look forward to these appointments because I just worry and seeing her moving around and hearing her heart beat calms me down and just gets me more excited to meet her.
*We still haven’t changed our mind about the name we decided on (I wrote about how we came up with a name here.. we aren’t sharing until she is born though)! I’m seriously amazed that we came up with it so easy and we keep loving it more and more.
*Food that sounds amazing: Fruit, Bisquick (I might just start eating it straight from the box with a spoon to save time… I kid, kind of), any sort of comfort food, anything I cook at home.
*Food that I don’t want to come near: Candy. I ate a piece of Andrew’s sour patch kid candy and had to throw it away… HOW DID I USED TO LIVE OFF OF THAT STUFF!? I also don’t want anything to do with pizza or marinera sauce items. Most restaurants weird me out right now which is not like me in the slightest normally… I’ll eat at them but I would much rather eat at home.
*Another weird food thing… the idea of soda makes me sick. I used to LOVE DIET COKE with everything I had:) I quit a while ago (except for while on vacations) but still craved it all of the time. With pregnancy, I want nothing to do with soda which is so weird. I do have a cup that I reuse to go to the gas station every now and then to go get a big thing of pebble ice and water and it is delicious.
*I think I have started nesting early… I’m going through each room and organizing/donating/storing everything possible. I did Brooke’s room while she was gone ha… that made it a lot easier.
*Sleep: Now that I don’t have the toothache from heck, great! I just get up to use the restroom during the night and fall right back to sleep. I can’t stay up late at night (even if I do take a nap that day) for anything… I’m always asleep by 9:30 these days.
*Weight gain, I have no idea (I step on the scale backwards) and I love it like that because I don’t even think about it except for when I sit down to write these posts. I just have my doc tell me if I’m doing good and so far, great!
I need your help. Big time.
We have nothing for a baby. I kind of feel out of the loop since it has been almost five years since Brooke was born. I left all of her baby stuff in California when I moved back to Utah and Andrew didn’t get any of Knox’s baby stuff so we are going to be starting from scratch:) We also don’t have a ton of room! We won’t have a nursery so the baby will stay with us for a while until she goes into Brooke’s room. Luckily Brooke sleeps through just about anything at night so sharing a room will work great for them! My sister and I shared a room from the time I was a baby until I was 12 years old so I’m excited for these two to get to do the same thing.
Long story short, we won’t be setting up a nursery BUT I do want to know what the best gear is for a new little one. What things did you love? Is the DockATot worth it? Any things that you couldn’t live without with your little one? We don’t even have a crib anymore (I sold the one that I bought for Brooke to have in Utah about 2 weeks before I met Andrew because I had given up hope that more babies would be an option for me). Thanks for helping me out so much with everything! You guys are sure an incredible resource for me and I cannot thank you enough!
Two MAJOR questions for you! 1. How long did your newborn stay in your room at night? 2. WHAT DO WE NEED!? I need to know the best gear as far as these things go:
*Bassinet/small crib/mattress?cradle!? What did you love?
*Recommendations for baby carriers?!
*I don’t need a new jogging stroller (I don’t think) but I NEED a good stroller for everything else.
*Favorite diaper brand? Wipes?
*Anything that I have never heard about that you loved… help a sister out;)
(I’ll ask about things like a highchair etc later on when she is a bit older… those questions will come too:)
PS if your comment has a link in it (which I greatly appreciate) sometimes it doesn’t show up right away and I’ll approve it ASAP!
