This. Was. So. Much. Fun.
My mom and I went on our first ever morning walk together. I’m sure as the weeks go by and I’m doing less running and more walking that this will be happening all of the time together. We had a blast and my mom CRUISES.
I started off with 5.2 miles @ 9:07 average by myself and then I met my mom for a 3.5 mile walk! We went to the shadiest place and just walked and talked. I loved it.
My mom came over for a bit and then the kids had two of their friends over for a few hours! We then had toast and carrots for lunch.
Andrew had a big test yesterday (he passed!!) and I took the kids to an indoor playplace for a while (you couldn’t pay me to go to a park in the middle of the day at this point of the year ha).
What happens when you search the house like crazy for two matching shoes. Of course Andrew found the missing shoes a few seconds after looking for them when he got home.
A chicken pot pie sounded really good yesterday (theme of this pregnancy = I want all of the comfort foods and no sugar unless it is fruit). THESE WERE SO GOOD. I made these little chicken pot-pie cupcakes (I added cheese on top, used the bigger biscuits ((Grands Pillsbury biscuits)) and cooked them for about 13 minutes, not 20 like the recipe called for) and they were so easy and so good.
Along with a side of steamed broccoli and grapes (plus another 1.5 pot pies for me before bed).
Even the kids really loved them… it’s hard to find dinners that everyone is excited about:)
We did our weekly family night (we sing songs, have a lesson and make some treats once a week together)!
And I made a treat that I found on Pinterest that I thought the kids would love. They were funfetti bars with M&Ms and sprinkles, let’s just say they did not turn out like the pictures on Pinterest:)
The kids had a few bites and somehow that transformed into insane amounts of energy right before bed. Beretta was busy trying to catch a fly… she usually gets 1 out of 4 flies that we have in the house and it always makes me happy.
Time for a few Friday Favorites (w/a few affiliates)!!!!
*This song. I can’t stop listening to it. I’ve loved Regina Spektor for a decade now and this is my current favorite song of hers.
*This picture of my sister with her youngest boys! Her family is on vacation and those little smiles just made me so happy.
*I’ve really wanted to cook again. I haven’t had this strong urge to really cook in a very long time so I’m happily embracing this… maybe this is a form of very early nesting?
*That Brooke likes to sit and study (ehhh try to figure out) the ultrasound of her little sister.
*Our vacuum stopped working so we took it back to Costco and they seriously have the best return policy! We got a different type/brand of vacuum and I am officially in love with this one. Things like this make me really happy. I want to vacuum twice a day now;)
*I had a few of you recommend the invisi bobble hair ring to use instead of a ponytail.. I just ordered some and cannot wait to try them. I didn’t wear a ponytail to bed last night so that’s an improvement.
*Bisquick. I haven’t bought bisquick in ages but this week it is just doing something for me. I so look forward to big fluffy pancakes now. I ate this after my walk yesterday morning and for about 7 minutes I was thinking, ‘oh goodness, I am so beyond full right now.’ And then all of the sudden my brain thought, ‘I could definitely go for a snack right now.’ My hunger is out of control and I am loving this so much more than the weeks of not wanting to eat anything!

Allison!!! “This past weekend I ran the Her Tern 1/2 Marathon. Although I have run a few full marathons and quite a few 1/2 marathons in the past, this was my first 1/2 marathon since having my little girl, Claire, last August. Being a mom has completely transformed my world and has changed my focus to being as healthy as I can to be a role-model for her. During those 13.1 miles, I thought a lot about Claire and how I wanted her to be proud of me. The race went really smoothly up until mile 12 when my IT band and left knee started to ache—but I just thought about Claire and my husband who were waiting for me to cross the finish line which gave me the little boost I needed!! Here is a picture of her congratulating me at the finish line. PS—If you or any of your female readers are looking for a 1/2 marathon to do in Alaska, the Her Tern 1/2 Marathon is AMAZING!! The mimosas, cupcakes, massages and handsome gents handing out bracelets at the finish line just make this race a must do event!”
