Silentish Saturday–> RACE DAY and it might be a very cold morning.

No morning run.  Lots of errands with these two.

Picked up a bunch of cookies to deliver to some neighbors.

Drove up to Andrew’s parent’s house and both kids were out.

Kids went to see Peter Pan with Andrew’s family and we grabbed dinner to go.  Chicken panini.

I really hope you will enjoy the race this morning! Mother nature played a good April fool joke on us: woke up to 10cm of snow! Will run today and plan for my upcoming trip to Europe!

Can’t wait to hear a recap! Good luck! Also totally jealous you got to see Regina Spektor. Love her!

Three things I am doing today (no run for me , husband has basketball in the morning so I usually take Saturday as a rest day): a million loads of laundry (blah!), taking my daughter to ballet and the library, dinner with family.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Janae! I’m a longtime reader from Canada! Best of luck with your race today. I’m sure you’ll clock an awesome time.

Our plans for the day: As of right now, the only thing that’s been decided is french toast and coffee. ;)

Aw I’m glad you had fun at the concert! I just read that giving gifts that are events not just items bring more happiness because you can do them together and it’s a memory. I got my fiancé tickets to Garth Brooks for Christmas! It was so much fun.

Good luck at your race !!! This is our first and only day of good weather and sunshine for our whole spring break. So 3 things for today are: last day of swim lessons, lunch & visit with my Mom, then going to a pretty park near us for a casual run around the lake while my daughter rides her bike, while we also attempt to snap some photo’s to update my blog with. We shall see how that goes. Going to end with playing at a park and walking the dogs.

Three things I’m doing today:
1. Long run DONE – Did 18 miles this morning and had SUCH a good run!
2. Dog park day. We haven’t sun in Chicago in well over a week and it’s finally out again. Taking the pup to the park to get her some exercise!
3. Friend’s bday tonight and we’re playing bocce ball. Never done it before !

I hope you have a great race today!

It’s already 5pm here in Malawi but I am about to do some yoga, I had lunch with some fellow volunteers, and spent my morning watching monkeys raid a field of maize.

Well the only thing I really had planned today was to run the Abe Lincoln Half Marathon today in PR time. I blew that out of the water and finished in 1:41 and placed second in my age group. Now on my way home to take a nap and relax for the afternoon!! Can’t wait to hear how your race went!!

Reply

NOOOOO WAY!!! LINDSAY!!! You absolutely ROCKED your half-marathon!! Huge huge huge congrats!!! Go rest and recover and celebrate!

My three things for today: 20 miles (done and done, it felt way shorter than it should have), baking blueberry muffins for a friend, annnd cleaning the bathroom (sigh, I should get on that).

I hope you have good weather for your race day! Currently I’m wincing at the forecast for here next week… They’re calling for rain four days in a row and I’m praying they’re wrong!! Hate rainy runs…

WAY TO GO GRANT ON YOUR 20 miler!! I hope the muffins were delicious and that the cleaning zoomed by! Thank you so much Grant and good luck next week with the weather!

I’m sure you’ve talked about this on the blog before, but I’d love to know what Garmin you have and what you think about it!

Reply

HEY DEB!! I have the Garmin 225 and I LOVE IT!! I have had zero issues with it in the 1.5 years that I’ve had it. It does all of the functions that I want it to. I LOVE the wrist based heart rate that it has. I love the size. I love everything about it. Here is a link to a longer review that I wrote about it!

Love your site!! I’m running my first race next month (broad street run.) because of a rough winter with lots of sickness I am not nearly as close to being able to run 10 miles as I should be. Unless I’m going to start running every day and potentially kill myself… Do you have any tips? I’m desperate! Thanks in advance!

Reply

Hey Ashley! Thank you so much for writing me and for reading! I am so sorry about your winter. As far as being undertrained for your next race, I would try to bump down to a shorter distance if the race offers it! Going to the 10k might be a way better option for your current fitness. I can’t tell you how many races I have missed for various issues so if you are really worried about not being trained I would skip this one and sign up for a different 10 miler in a month or two so you can train properly! Good luck Ashley and please keep me updated on how you are doing!

My son had his regional gymnastics meet last night at UVU in Orem. Got up this morning, ran on the Murdock Trail (took me a little while to find it) and then drove 7 hours back home! Now we’re relaxing as my daughter has an all day volleyball tournament tomorrow in Denver!

Reply

AHHHH You were in my neck of the woods. We run on the Murdock Trail all of the time! So glad you had a great trip (AND BUSY DAY)… enjoy the rest tonight and have a blast at the volleyball tournament!

HaHa, I got all of my readers on Saturday when I posted a lot of big plans and then at the end said that none of them were true, “April Fool!” My close friends figured it out when one of my big plans was to become a Zumba instructor so I could share my love of dance with my clients. My friends know that I have two left feet!
