Silentish Saturday!

What is the best thing to do when you can’t sleep in the morning?  RUN.  9 miles total—>  started with an 8:13 mile and got faster with each mile until I finished with a 6:40 mile.

Gotta love this post-run greeting.

Saturday is a day for getting the pre-race gitters out (rust buster tomorrow ahh!) and seeing old friends.
Nice workout! Also, those cookies look so good! I am also with you on the video games- fun to watch, but the jury is still out on whether they are fun to play.

I can’t raise my arms above my head!!! They are so sore from last night’s workout — (Crossfit Open workout 17.2).

Today’s plan is to hit the gym and work some of this soreness out and do a bit of light cardio (row/run) and some skill work. THEN for the fun stuff! Escape room, Dinner, and DONUTS! The restaurant we’re going to has these beer flights so our group decided we’ll make it a “flight night” by also getting a donut flight — we’ll all sample a nibble from a variety!

HOW FUN!

YES to sweet potatoe toast! It’s definitely a favorite, especially the almond butter and honey combo and hummus with avocado. Highly recommend! Have a great Saturday!

I’m sitting on my couch in my running gear trying to get motivated to head out the door. I’m hoping to cover 8 miles. It’s cold (in the 20s) and sustained winds at 18mph with gust up to 26. I have a sinus headache too. If I make it the entire 8 miles I will feel so proud of myself. Here’s to a good podcast and some mental toughness :) :)

I have to work this morning and then I am running 9 miles!!! My half marathon is in four weeks. I’m nervous about finishing, but training with an incredible group of people and they won’t let me quit.

Aww she went to the party alone!! Thats so cute! Ah, its so fun to see her grow up from here!! I’m currently making pancakes, I’ve been sick for two weeks so I’ve somehow taken up baking for the first time ever in my life, haha! Wait, do pancakes count as baking? Anyway, I’m resting, eating pancakes… reading blogs.. haha, lame!

Today is a crazy day! The morning starts with a PT session, then two Jazzercise demos, back to the center to teach Strength45, followed by another PT session. Then the rest of the day will be filled with homework and cleaning before my parents get here to run tomorrow. Luckily I love doing all of it :) Well, maybe not the cleaning!

This reminded me of your sweet kids. Might be fun this summer. Have a great weekend!

Woah that sounds like an awesome run Janae! Glad it went well. I’m just working today.

Took a pair of new Launch 4 out for a spin today. Great shoe…now we can bet twins…

Brooke looks like such a big kid going off to that birthday party!

Sweet potato toast sounds amazing, I never would have thought of that!

It is a rainy day here, so probably a treadmill run and maybe the library?? Not sure!

Reply

Those sweet potatoes look so good! I may need to try that too, like asap. My stomach is rumbling right now because I’m waiting to go to breakfast with my mom but she’s running late!

Plans for today are to work on the house and go for a 10 miler :D

What?! You haven’t tried sweet potato toast? Do it. So good!!

Lots of cleaning today while I make my hubby take the kids on the errand run (because quality cleaning rarely happens with a 6, 3 and 2 year old around), 5 miles outside and a date night to a play!

90 minute trainer ride today with a post-ride short run.

Then we are hosting a dinner party and dominoes tonight. So, cleaning and cooking mostly. Mediterranean theme, octopus will be cooked and grilled. Should be interesting! Lots of other goodies on the menu if the grilled octopus doesn’t quite work out. Fingers crossed.

Killer workout today!!! I hope dinner and dominoes was perfect tonight! Sounds like an amazing menu tonight!

Reply

Can I ask how you get through 90 min trainer ride? I get bored after 60 min.
Thanks

First, coffee in the sunshine in our porch. Then going for a family trail run. Probably take our bikes downtown and go out for dinner!

Those cookies look amazing.

I’m getting ready to take my youngest daughter to work. After that, my oldest daughter and I are taking our dog in for her annual exam and shots.

This afternoon will be spent hiking in the woods. It’s going to be fabulous!

We’re on a weekend trip to the Oregon Coast! Brought our two small dogs too- they keep barking at noises in the motel, and I already got my only pair of jeans soaked by a wave walking this morning, but I know it will be a fun weekend! :) Have a great one, Janae!<3

Jenny, what an amazing weekend trip! Enjoy every second and I’m so glad that you brought the pups too! Thank you!

Reply

14 miles this morning! 5 outside with my running club and then 9 on the treadmill (I was gonna run everything outside but my hands were frozen and I didn’t feel like torturing myself).

Rest of the day will be spent buying stuff at Target, relaxing, and maybeeee making some of those sweet potato toasts!

Reply

Working today then tomorrow is my 8th half marathon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply

YOU’VE GOT THIS!!!

Where did you get those cute socks? We are celebrating my grandpa’s bday today…he’s been gone 18 months.

Reply

Thank you Michelle! I got them from this store a few years ago: http://calledtosurf.com

I hope you had a wonderful time with you family today and I am so so sorry about the loss of your grandpa. xoxo

I am super intrigued by that sweet potato toast. I will be trying that out for sure.
I played video games with Ross a few times when we were dating. When we got married I let him know that it most likely would never happen again. Which I realize is very fake of me. But it could have been worse, right? I just don’t understand the point.

So far my day has included cleaning the house. With more cleaning the house in my future. Be jealous.

Ran 4 miles this am, mile 4 was hard but I finished which is what counts. Hopefully i will get up to 5 miles next weekend… I am going to try the sweet potato toast as it sounds good. I really like sweet potato and chicken soup, a recipe I got from runner’s world.

Reply

I need that gummy bear! The intense look of Andrew and Knox playing their video games is awesome. I’m working today and running tonight.

Reply

I went to get a Gait Analysis done today. It turns out I need wider shoes lol:)

That salad looks delicious!!

Candy land was my favorite game. Parties and playing at the arcade are tiring!

Spin class, cleaning, the vet, and food shopping made up my oh so exciting day. Turkey burgers and roasted sweet potatoes for dinner tonight. We have a St. Patrick’s party tomorrow. (Our parade is early so we don’t conflict with the big one in Manhattan).

Reply

I love how active your family is in hanging out with one another. I hope I’m able to develop that with my own family, Janae! Happy Saturday. :)

Reply

Your pace is so incredible, great job on your run today! I ran my farthest run to date – 16 miles. I’m not sure how I’ll get to 26.2 but can’t wait to get it done!

Reply

JEAN!!! Way to go on your 16 miles today… YOU WILL get to 26.2. I have those same thoughts (how am I going to do this marathon when I am so tired after my long run!?!) but each time, I do it! You’ve got this. Keep me updated on your training!!!

Reply

Awww, Brooke is so grown up going to friend’s a birthday party by herself.

Those sweet potatoes look delicious and so easy to make! I actually think I might try them tomorrow morning. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

I have never been a huge treadmill fan, but after seeing all of your posts, I’ve been trying to get better about running on them. Last weekend I did 10 at my fastest pace! Thank you for the inspiration! :)

You have also inspired me to start a blog. I JUST started it, so I have a long ways to go, but it’s been so fun! I look forward to reading your blog every day. I hope one day people feel that way about mine! http://papersandpavement.weebly.com/

I caught my youngest daughter playing Candy Land solo this weekend, too—–well, she was playing and her stuffed animal, “Mingo” (a flamingo :) was playing with her. It was cute. Inspired me to join in for a few games with them, too :)

This sounds like a wonderful Saturday. I am a big, big fan of HGTV on a weekend night. On Saturday I went fowling with my sister and both of our boyfriends. It’s essentially just two sets of bowling pins set up across from each other and you throw a football back and forth to try to knock yours down before the other team. So fun and I am embarrassingly sore after!
