Colored my hair, our random day and two important running/food questions I need to know.

Day #2 swim lessons = success.

Brooke has now rocked holding her breathe under water but…

we are still learning the whole goggle thing.

Knox has started playing with my hair whenever he is right next to me.  I love it.

He also got up this high on the rock wall all by himself!

Love her little post-swim curls!

Water fights in the backyard have begun.

I sat outside while the kids were out running around and Beretta really wanted me to play fetch with her.   I really just wanted my apple with peanut butter but I played some fetch too.  It has been so long since we have had almond butter, I need to change that.  While I do really love normal peanut butter, almond butter has my whole heart.

My sister gave me the best birthday present ever (it just took us a little while for me to get over there to redeem the coupon:).  She fixed my hair up.  It also meant that we had 2 hours to just sit there and talk to each other which is our favorite.  PS Andrew and I bought a new camera.  Between the two of us, we had three old cameras and we ended up selling them on Craigslist and making more than enough from the old cameras to buy a new one.  We got the Sony Alpha a6300.  I’m in love with it.  Andrew is friends with a really famous photographer (Chris Burkard) and he recommended this one for us and we read all about it… perfect.

My sister started by coloring the roots (aka my grey hairs:) and then she added in some natural looking highlights.

B4A4F899 53E3 47DB BBD3 04B28E26B493

She uses this cool little thing that looks like a straightening iron to give instant highlights.  So your hair doesn’t sit in the foils for so long… just while you go over the foil with this wand.  It was crazy.

9CC02EEA 3F40 444D 8A6B D85268D91B82

My sister also added some toner to the ends of my hair because they were kind of a copper tone.  Thank goodness my sister knows how to do all of this stuff because I am pretty clueless with hair.  This stuff below is something that always reminds me of my sister.  She has been using it since high school.  She puts it on wet or dry hair and it makes your hair so incredibly smooth and shiny.

Finished product.  I don’t remember the last time I had my hair done (ehhh… years?!) so I was pretty excited about it.  Thanks sissy, you are the best.

Came back home and couldn’t stop snacking on these.  Andrew got them from Mer for his bday and what’s his is mine right?

IMG 1587

We had our favorite salmon and honey balsamic brussel sprouts for dinner.  I am very grateful that Andrew and I have very similar tastebuds when it comes to making dinner at home.

And did some reading before bed.

I came across all of these different egg varieties for Easter….

IMG 1570

Which one do you prefer?  Reese’s, Twix, Butterfinger or Snickers eggs?

Have a camera that you love?  What kind?

Do you color your hair?  Do you stick to the same thing or switch things up often?

A question I would love to know, when you run… what are your hands doing.  Carrying anything?  Are they loose or do you clench them or hold them loosely?

Love the new hair! I really need to do something new with my hair soon. As far as Easter candy, the Reese’s eggs are the best! Also the traditional Cadbury eggs are my all time favorite Easter candy. Classic!

Your hair looks great! Please send your sister to DC!

Chris Burkard is one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram. I loved the short film he did on Arctic surfing, too. So jealous that you actually get advice from him!

Reply

I disagree–please send your sister to VA! ;-) I’m in desperate need of a touch up. It’s been sooo long.

Your hair looks great Janae! I was always a Snicker’s person, haven’t had one in foreverrrrrrrrrr.
Becuase all of my easy days are longer now with my marathon plan (but I get TWO rest days ;-)), I’ve started holding my phone and playing music. I can’t find earbuds I like–for some reason having the music in my ears makes me nauseous. Becuase there aren’t many people around where I run, I just blast the music from my phone. I’ve been working on unclenching my fists…trying to relax overall actually to improve my form!

Reply

YAY for marathon training Mollie:) Glad you figured out a way to listen to your music and not feel nauseated! Thanks for what you said about my hair! I hope you have a great night!

Reply

Your hair looks great! If my sister could do hair that well I would be over there every day before work.

I’ve only had Reese’s eggs, but I love Butterfinger cups (one of my favorite candies) so I’ll have to look for the eggs!

In middle school, my cross country coach always told me to have your hands loose, almost like you’re holding an invisible baton. I’ve been doing that ever since! I hate running with anything in my hands (other than gloves after I take them off)!

Reply

LOVE that tip from your cross country couch back in the day! Thanks for sharing and thanks for your sweet comment!

That picture of the four of you on the floor (the reading one) is absolutely ADORABLE!! And LOVE your hair, by the way.

I usually run with a bottle of pepper spray in one hand, and I don’t really know what I do with the other, now that you ask. I think I keep it in a lightly held fist, but I’ll have to pay attention to that tomorrow.

Reply

Love the hair! Haven’t colored mine in a while…………probably won’t until the fall. The summer makes it fade out so much faster.
I would eat all of those except for butterfinger….not a fan.
My hands are usually really loose. I sometimes have my water bottle holder on one hand, but it’s still pretty loose.

Reply

Your hair is soooo smooth and shiny!! Lovely!! REESES FO SHO and currently I am holding my phone whilst typing this…

Reply

Tix for me!!

I don’t color my hair. But that might change in the near future since I’m starting to notice grey hairs everyday more.

My hands are loose when I run. Sometimes I’m holding my phone to change the song or check the distance/pace.

Reply

GIVE ME ALL THE REESE’S EGGS!! I love a huge peanut butter to chocolate ratio. I also love the Russell Stover eggs with the fruit-flavored filling (I am the weirdo that loves all the fruit-flavored valentine’s chocolates too, which works out great b/c no one else wants to eat them).

Your hair looks FABULOUS! Your sister is super talented! I’ve also used biosilk for years, and love it. It keeps my ends from getting too crispy.

Reply

I used to use biosilk back in the day! I can still recall the smell! so funny. I highlight my hair but haven’t actually “colored” it yet. hopefully I don’t go gray for a really long time. lol

Reply

I LOVE the harvest cheddar sun chips-SO GOOD.

What I hold in my hand when I run depends on how long the run is. If its something short then it could be just my phone. If its longer or really hot outside, then I hold a Nathan exoshot water bottle and put my phone around my waist.

Reply

I used to love Biosilk! My hair (and skin [body and face]) has gone through some tough times after moving from South-Central Texas (San Antonio) to Chicago; Biosilk doesn’t work like it used to.:(

I LOVE that the kids are going to swim lessons! Summer is going to be a blast!

Reply

Love the new hair! And those brussel sprouts look delicious.

I don’t color my hair…yet. For like a year when I was younger I cycled through different streaks like blue, green, purple, and pink. But my family has a history of going grey early so for now I’m enjoying the low maintenance of not needing to dye it but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.

I have loose fists when I run, I was taught to run like I was holding an egg. Whether that is the proper way or not is debatable but it works for me.

Reply

Your hair looks great! That’s incredible that your sister does all of that hair stuff! Did she go to school to be a stylist? I wish someone close to me could do my hair. I get my hair highlighted. I really don’t feel relaxed when I go to the salon, because it takes a lot of time and money! Lately I’ve just been having my daughter cut my hair – because it’s just a straight cut. She does a pretty good job – especially considering she’s 13 yrs old :)

Reply

You hair looks beautiful Janae! I always love getting a fresh look :)

I have a Nikon – eh, I can’t remember the model, but I love it! My blog pictures look way better than they did when I was using my iPhone!

On the running question, I normally run holding my phone- but I prefer to run with my hands free + without my fists clenched if I can. :)

Reply

Reeses eggs all the way.

I run with a bandana in one hand – my nose runs like crazy when I run, no matter the weather, so I have to wipe my nose. Kind of gross. but it also helps in really hot weather and I can pour cold water over it.

Reply

Good call on the bandana! My nose runs like crazy too when I run but mainly in weather under 50 degrees. So weird! I hope you have a great night Jessey!

Reply

I have to be traditional and go with the Reese’s PB egg as my fav, but I do love them all :) I saw the Oreo eggs at Target, but have yet to try one………..

I do color my hair………I’m a natural brunette, but I haven’t been since college! Sometimes I think about going back, but I’m afraid I’d hate it. I’m just a blonde now. It’s who I am. ha ha My hairdresser and I have finally found THE PERFECT shade of highlights for me, and it’s magical. ha ha When my hair looks good, I feel 1,000 times better. Totally impressed by your sister’s knowledge of hair/hair styling.

Hands…….I HATE HATE HATE carrying anything with me when I run. This is funny b/c when I first started running, I’d always carry my phone in my hands (now I use a SpiBelt if I have my phone). I use the Orange Mud single barrel vest for hydration b/c I don’t have to carry anything :)

Reply

Love your hair! It looks great!

I’m really loving the mini solid Cadbury eggs. They are so addicting. My husband loves the Reeses ones and I can’t stand em.

Reply

Have you tried the cookies and cream version of the Cadbury mini eggs???

Reply

No, I haven’t but it sounds pretty good!

Reply

Love the hair! I do love the OG peanut butter eggs, but the Twix ones really are the best!

Reply

Your hair looks great! I am badly in need of getting my hair done (crazy roots going on here) but I can’t decide what I want to do! Biosilk is so good, I started using it when I was in HS too. Right now I’m using It’s a 10 leave in conditioner but Biosilk will always have a special place in my bathroom drawers!

I have a sony a5100 and love it!I have thought about upgrading but right now this camera is still working perfectly and I am not an expert photographer. I barely know how to use this one! haha

Reply

I have always done a really weird?? thing with my hands while I run. Not sure I can even describe it. My hands are in that loose like you’re holding an egg position and I tap my middle finger on my thumb and then I tap my pointer on my thumb and repeat. I totally do this subconsciously too…

Reply

That is really interesting. I find that I tap my fingers together kind of like you when I am on the treadmill but not outside. Super interesting! Hey, it works for you so keep doing it! Enjoy your evening!

Reply

I do the finger-thumb tapping thing too! Usually when I run I have my dogs with me, and I switch their leashes from one hand to another every mile or so. But if I’m not holding leashes, my hands are loose and I am tapping pointer, middle, ring finger on my thumb.

Reply

I LOVE anything with PB so Reeses for the win!

I color my hair and honestly don’t know what my natural color is now. I love hair because you can chop it off, grow it out, color it all different ways and I’ve never been afraid to change it up. I could never get a tattoo because it’s so permanent. I have had every hairstyle out there. Except for the mohawk, which I would really like to do but the hubs says NO!!

My man used to be a track coach so he told me to hold my hands like I’m pinching a potato chip. Kinda silly, but that’s what I always do now.

Reply

Teach me to be adventurous with my hair:) That is awesome! I love the tip from your man… I need this! I find that I clench my hands often so this will help me!

Reply

Reese’s or Twix eggs. Coloring hair – I’ve only started doing this as I’ve gotten past 40 – when the gray hairs are becoming extremely noticeable in the blonde (so you know the gray is becoming more prominent). And I only do it about once a year.

Reply

I think the last time I colored my hair was 10ish years ago when I got highlights. I actually like my hair color so highlights have been the most I’ve ever done to it. I was thinking of getting them again when I graduate this summer – a little gift to myself for all the hard work I’ve been doing.

Reply

Reese’s eggs are my favorite, but I haven’t tried all those kinds pictured, so it sounds like I need to do some RESEARCH! Oh darn. ;)

I’ve never colored my hair, it’s blonde, and while I know it’s sort of irrational, I’m afraid it would never grow back the same and it would look funky and then I would have to just dye it forever. Plus I’m terribly low maintenance, so I can’t even imagine having to do any sort of upkeep. I hate brushing // combing my hair half the time.

And my hands? Hmm, I try not to run with things in my hands, but sometimes I end up holding a phone or gloves or a little holder with my car keys. Otherwise they’re half way in between open & a fist, or like the loosest fist you’ve ever seen.

Reply

Love the new look Janae :) So nice that your sister can do it for you.

I get my hair done twice a year (maybe, if that). I get a balayage that matches my natural highlights, so you can barely tell I dye my hair but it looks like I just spent the week running on the beach. Perfect for low maintenance.

Reply

Your hair looks gorgeous! As soon as I get my tax refund, I’m going to hopefully get mine cut and colored, too. You’re lucky that your sister can do your hair! I want to go blonder and get more layers like I used to have.

Reeses eggs all the way. Except I miss the little ones that they used to make that you could just bite in half and the peanut butter was on both sides – whatever happened to those?

I think I clench my hands a lot more than I would like to when I run. I try to keep them loose, but that doesn’t always happen.

Reply

Omg so much to comment about. First, Brooke in those goggles melt my heart. She is so cute.

I like your hair that shade. It looks great. I typically dye my hair darker. In Alabama, I got my hair striped and got everything out. Right now it’s natural which it hasn’t been in a very…very…very long time.

Reply

I love Sun Chips!!
Reese’s egg all the way!
I have a huge DSLR…Nikon D300s. And my favorite lens the 24-72mm f2.8. But it’s too big (and expensive) for day to day so I use my phone for everything else. The Nikon is for paying gigs or special family occasions and parties.
I am just starting to get grays but not enough for coloring roots yet. I do however love to do semi-permanent color. Usually burgundy or auburn colors. At the point I need to color more frequently i’ll probably just stick with brown. Reds are hard to keep up.

My hands are usually free when running but sometimes if i’m listening to a podcast or expecting to hear from a client i’ll hold my phone for easier access.

Reply

We have a couple of the Sony mirrorless cameras and LOVE them! Great choice!

Reply

Admittedly, I haven’t tried all of those eggs, and admittedly, I’m not much of a candy guy (although I make up for that with my intake of other sugary desserts), but those Reeses eggs will always be a nostalgic pleasure for me.

So when I run, I always have my iPod clenched in my left hand, and my right hand usually in a loose fist. If I ever need to switch my iPod to my right hand, or run without it, it feels so weird and distracting. Another ridiculous fact about the way I run: I always have headphones in, but for 80% of my run (which is often over 2 hours) my iPod is off!

Reply

Your hair looks beautiful ! Peanut butter egg of course, stick to the OG! I colored my hair A LOT in high school and kind of told myself I would never do it again. I hold my hands tight and a lot of times I have a thumbs up haha, idk why!

Reply

Reeses and Snickers eggs!

Love the new hair, your sister is so talented.

Reply

I love my Canon 50D. Got it after my daughter was born to capture better pictures, so glad I spent the extra on a decent one at that time. But it’s big and chunky, a smaller one that fits in your hand like you got, or toss in your purse, would be nice too.
It’s a toss up between Twix & Snickers, so why choose, they are both my fave’s.
I only wish I could color (and cut) my own hair. That would be so awesome, it’s crazy expensive at the salon. But I’m like you, a little clueless to hair related stuff, I would totally not trust myself with my own hair. I foresee bad, very bad things happening.
If I don’t have a pocket or my arm phone thing on, I will carry my phone that my earbuds plug in to. If I do have a spot for it that day, then my hands are closed like a fist, but lose.

Reply

Reese’s are my all-time favorite, hands down.
I dyed my hair to celebrate starting my senior year of college. Brown-> blue-black. It looked pretty good but since I’m a very white girl living in Idaho, once my tan faded I looked a bit like a vampire so haven’t done it again.
My hands are kind of loose unless I’m running with my dog. Then my right hand is clenched in a fist to keep her from escaping.

Reply

Your hair looks great! Hands on the run…I usually hold my phone in one hand and switch hands periodically. It feels weird when my phone is on my arm because I don’t know what to do with my hands so I just carry it to have something for my hands to do. Is that weird? Tell me I’m not the only one who does this.

Reply

Ok, I found your blog a few weeks ago and I must admit—I am crazy addicted! ..aaannnnnddd I never comment on things but you happened to ask about hands and running and its one of the few things I have learned so far about running (I’m pretty darn new to this game). My sister took a running class with the NYC Runners Club, and they stressed how important it was to have loose hands–for the final run they gave everyone a Pringles chip for each had and the goal was to not have crushed it by the end of the race!!!! When I’m running and feeling like I’m getting tense I automatically picture holding a chip and loosen up my grip-it actually makes a difference at least for me! And your hair looks fabulous — I’ve actually got an appointment tonight to cover up my “roots”- couldn’t be more excited!

Reply

Ohh good tip!

Reply

THANK YOU SHELLY!!! Keep commenting, I loved your comment today! That is such a perfect tip for this… I’m going to be trying this asap! Thank you! I hope you are enjoying getting your hair done right now:) Thanks!

Reply

I’ve tried all of those different eggs (to the surprise of no one) and they aren’t anything eggcellent (you see what I did there). The ratios aren’t that different or enough to make a difference, other than the Reese’s egg. They should just make egg shaped Reese’ s year round because it is the best ratio of PB to chocolate.

It doesn’t surprise me one bit that Knox climbed that high by himself. #LikeFatherLikeSon

Those Sun Chips are on sale this week at Smiths for $1.99, BTW. Garden salsa is the best flavor. Actually Sweet and Spicy BBQ is the best flavor, but they stopped making it. As a result, Ross no longer wants to buy ANY Sun Chips again as a way of boycotting. Apparently he has really strong feelings about chips.

Your hair looks beautiful. Great job, Sissy!

I try and let my hands hang loose when I run but on days that I’m more stressed out I find myself clenching my fists more as I run. I think it’s the idea of letting it go because I always wind up feeling better after my run!

Do the kids love brussle sprouts too?

Reply

Hey Kristin! No on Knox loving brussels sprouts but Brooke tried her first one last week with a Blue Apron meal that we had and she thought they were good so she will nibble at a few now:) I am the same as you on days that I am stressed! I hope you are having a fabulous day!

I need to get my hair done so badly! Your hair looks great!

I think I clench my hands when I get tired when I run , but I am trying to work on that.

Reply

Your hair is AMAZING…although it always looks great!! Your sister is so talented!!!

I colour my roots…every 6 weeks…for the rest of my life. Sigh. lol And I rarely switch things up. I’m a creature of habit!

Never holding anything…and remind myself every so often to relax them if I find that they are clenched…and my shoulders…they tend to tighten and rise up.

Reply

Love the hair!
I was thinking about my hands the other day since I’ve been holding my phone (music etc) I have to have it if my kids school calls…I also have a spiebelt. But I don’t clench I just kind of have them relaxed but def my arms bent, but I frequently shake them out…curious what others do.

Reply

Your hair looks great! I need to get mine done bad! With almost 3 month old twin boys it might be a while before I get a chance! Brooke at swim lessons is adorable! I’m sure she’s loving it! And the picture of the four of you reading is great!

I would love to see a post with all your favorite sweet potato recipes. I know you post them often but having them all in one place would be so helpful! I love sweet potatoes but need some new inspiration I’m getting bored of eating them the same way all the time.

Reply

Thanks Katie!!!! AHHHH 3 month old twin boys… you have your hands full. Keep me updated with how you are all doing:) GREAT IDEA of the sweet potato recipes… I’m going to get to work on that now! Enjoy the rest of your day and I hope you get some sleep tonight!

Reply

Reese’s eggs for sure!! Your hair looks great! I haven’t had mine done in a while, I’m going to see if I can just keep it natural for a while, fingers crossed!
I haven’t been running lately, but I always have my phone in one hand and nothing in the other.

Reply

Thanks Holly! I hope you are having a great day:)

Reply

Reese’s Eggs – stick with the classics. I will have to try that BioSilk stuff, I am always trying to find things to help my hair from getting frizzy and tangled! When I run I definitely try to keep my hands loose – sometimes in the summer I carry a bottle of water but I don’t even like doing that – I really should try to get a water hydration strap for summer long runs. Another thing for runs that I was always told in high school cross country is to keep your wrists relaxed – apparently it helps you not tense up too much.

Reply

Yes try it out and let me know what you think! Thanks for the tip on relaxed wrists… I needed that!

Reply

My old high school cross country coach used to make us run repeats holding a potato chip in each hand. He firmly believed that clenching your hands/arms was wasted energy better spent going faster, so while I don’t carry anything, my hands have been long trained to stay loosely clenched.

Snickers or Twix, def

Reply

I need to try the potato chips trick. I agree that tight arms/hands waste much needed energy for speeding up and endurance! I hope you have a great night Mike and that you get a Snickers or Twix egg soon!

Reply

Your hair looks beautiful! I get grays too, so yep, gotta color it.

Best is Reese’s eggs….is this even a question???!!!

I don’t like holding things when I run. Every so often I’ll hold a water bottle but I don’t even like doing that. Usually my hands are just sort of loose and cupped, if that makes sense?? I try not to clench them.

Reply

That totally makes sense Laura!! Thank you so much and I hope you get some Reese’s eggs asap!

Reply

Are you actually making me chose my favorite chocolate???? :) It’s a tie between snickers and PB eggs … the snickers has to be frozen for me to really get down on it while the PB egg I can get down on it whenever wherever … as long as I’m in the mood for it. I’m always in the mood for snickers :)
Camera? What’s that? Does iphone count? Lol! The last time I bought a camera was in 2000 and it took film so I don’t use it anymore. My husband bought me an Olympus digital thing a while ago but I don’t use that either anymore … iphone all the way!
Color my hair? What the what? And lose the natural highlights?! Lol! I NEED to stay on it so people stop calling me mam and treating me like an adult. I may be 26 + 12 and look 36 +12 cuz of the gray but I feel like I’m in my early 20’s … I just need to match my hair to my feels like age but I need more hours in the day. Who am I kidding …. if there more hours in the day, I would use them to play with my kids. or eat. or run. or anything other than clean, sleep and color my hair!
As far as the hands go … since it’s in the 30’s in the PNW when I run they’re gloved up and clenched.
Super cute hair! Can your sister fly to WA to do my hair?! Lol!

Reply

I NEED to try a frozen Snickers egg asap… that sounds amazing. I absolutely feel like I am 20 years old too sometimes… my dad told me the same thing the other day. I wonder if we ever feel older than that?! I hope it starts warming up for you! I’ll ask my sister about a trip to WA to meet you and do hair:) Enjoy your night Jenny!

Reply

Honestly, my favorite chocolate egg is dark chocolate with whipped raspberry cream. It’s so sweet I can’t eat it all at once, but I’ve loved it since I was a kid. Out of those I always would go for peanut butter.

I color my hair, otherwise I’d be completely gray. Not ready for that. I do change the color, I get bored and in the summer I go a little lighter. I like how your hair came out.

I worked hard at relaxing my hands when I run. I try to keep my my index and middle fingers and thumb touching lightly. I was told clenching wastes energy and it made my hands ache…

Reply

Your hair looks beautiful! I know nothing about hair. I got highlights in highschool a few times, but that’s about it. If my sister knew how though, I’d be all about it!

Reply

Your hair is SO CUTE!!!! I would love highlights (and not grays!). And snicker eggs would be amazing.

Reply

Thanks Mary!!! I should send you a Snicker egg:) I hope you have a great night!

Reply

Your hair looks pretty! Good job, Janae’s sister! I love having my hair done. I change up the style pretty regularly. A makeover is like therapy to me.

Usually when I run, I have to focus on not clenching my hands. Lately, I have been trying to run with a water bottle. It helps a bit since I am not making fists,.

Reply

Thank you so so much Libbie!! I totally agree about the makeover feeling like therapy:) Glad the water bottle holding is helping with not clenching! I hope you have an awesome night tonight!

I feel as though I will be dying my grey hairs soon as well:(

Love the hair! I have never even had any of the other eggs (and didn’t even realize there were so many), only Reese! I don’t have a camera but my boyfriend has a Nikon and loves it! Also, I hate holding things while running and I try to keep my hands loose and not clench them too much!

Your hair always looks great! But you’re so lucky to have a talented sister close by.

I love how your boy twirls your hair!! My son was a hair-twirler too and I loved it. Savor it because in a blink of an eye my baby boy just got his drivers license.

Reply

I’ve always held my hands rather loose while running. But while in college my coach would always yell “tea cups” if we were holding our upper body/hand to tight. We were supposed to visualize holding a dainty tea cup. I still use that tip today!

Reply

About the hands thing while running – I once read a tip to have your hands striking a balance between clenching and aimlessly flailing. A good way to do this is to pretend to hold small potato chip bags in your hand. As funny-sounding as it is, it actually works for me!

Reply

Snickers eggs all the way!

I used to have a Canon SL1 and while I really enjoyed it, I just didn’t have the time to properly use it at all. In the end I sold it to my cousin who takes pretty terrific nature pictures.

I used to switch up the color of my hair several times a year, but one day my hubby told me his favorite hair color was what it was when he met me in college…the only time it was natural! Now I only get highlights and lowlights here and there.

When I used to run I almost never carried anything. I always wore an arm band for my phone and rarely went far enough to require a water bottle. Weirdly, I do tend to clench my hands…

Reply

Which one do you prefer? Reese’s, Twix, Butterfinger or Snickers eggs? Snickers followed closely by Reese’s are my fav

Have a camera that you love? What kind? No…I am camera poor

Do you color your hair? Do you stick to the same thing or switch things up often? I used to, but now I’m super lazy and haven’t in about a year. I did it mainly to cover white hairs, but I’m trying to just embrace them.

A question I would love to know, when you run… what are your hands doing. Carrying anything? I try to remember to just hold them loosely b/c I read that is what you are supposed to do. I prefer to not carry things.

Reply

I dye my own hair, found a box dye that I love. My hair is a reddish tone, and it would be way to expensive to get it done the salon: the coppery red only seem to stick around for 4-5 weeks in my hair, but I just love how they look.

Reply

Your hair looks fantastic! Your sister did such a great job!

When I go on longer run, I usually hold my GoPro in one hand and my water bottle in the other. When I run in the super early mornings, I usually don’t carry anything unless it’s really hot and I need water.

REESE’S FOREVER!!! I look forward to those all year. seriously. the best.
in Dec, i treated myself to my first professional coloring and cut and it was worth every penny. I got a balayage treatment and i’m still obsessed even though its fading and growing out. plan on keeping the upkeep though :)

I have a Canon mirrorless (so similar in size to the Sony you decided on). At the time I bought mine I had a colleague who already had the Canon and lent it to me so I was able to experiment with it for a bit. It is such a convenient size and the image quality has been outstanding.

My hands and fingers stay loose but I try to concentrate on keeping shoulders down and my collarbone “open” as I have a tendency to lift and round my shoulders as I get tired – totally counterproductive.
