She came over. I adore this person a whole lot. We were very very close (we pretty much saw each other every day) when I lived in California and have stayed close over the years since I moved back to Utah. She was in town for the holidays and we got to have her and her husband and little dude over for dinner last night.
You may remember me referring to her as Bangs Friend for many years because of her bangs back then… she always has the prettiest hair. Both Knox and Brooke prepared gifts for her and put it at her spot at the table.
Andrew made his specialty (well, one of many)—> Blackened Fish Tacos w/Avocado-Cilantro Sauce.
Absolutely heavenly. We also brought out our house special of sweet potato fries (chop, coat with some olive oil and salt and bake) for the meal too. That cilantro sauce is a little bit spicy and so perfect for fish tacos.
Her little one and Beretta became friends which was exciting.
And then we brought out the cookies (and ice cream but nobody wanted ice cream because these cookies are too good on their own).
Oh and two pictures of the kids playing with Andrew. He is definitely the fun one.
We finished up our night with them with some Goodnight Moon reading. I wish I had a count for how many times I have read this book. We have added a twist though.. I now switch a few words throughout the book to something else and they always start giggling when I use a different word than what the book reads (yeah, they have it memorized completely).
Can you believe 2017 is just around the corner? I thought I would share with you today the posts from this last year that got the highest page views in case you are bored and wanting to check any of them out today:
*That time I introduced you to Andrew on the blog and then we got engaged a week later or something like that;)
*Running and periods (I wrote this a few years ago) is still one of my highest viewed posts!
*Our wedding day. My favorite day ever and the beginning of an amazing life with our new family.
*I shared with you my thoughts on being a single mama (this was written before I met Andrew). The good, the hard and any tips that I had. I look back on this time of just Brookie and me with a lot of fondness. There was a lot of growth and a lot of beauty even during some really hard times for me.
*Eating Disorder Talk was another popular post.
*Our very first vlog… where we talk about how we met and more!
*My mom wrote an amazing guest post here too!
*A killer spin workout to try (if you need one)!
