Silentish Saturday!!!

The kids helped me to tell you how many miles I ran yesterday (3).

Weird but I was happy that my shoes and water bottle kind of matched.  Planks and glutes for runners after my run.

I’m so jealous of your weather! DC is still a swamp and mostly in the 90s. There was supposed to be a Super Moon last night, so I took the kids for a walk after dinner, but it was too cloudy to see anything.

12 miles scheduled for tomorrow. I’m so excited to run with some friends. I have been running solo all year! Seriously haven’t seen my running peeps since January.
Family get together later this afternoon so for now I’m just sipping coffee and binge watching Tiny House Hunters :)

My husband and I met also at an Outback Steakhouse….also it was a setup from a mutual friend. How funny!

Getting ready to tackle 16.

Have a great weekend.

My husband and I met at Outback in 2004; I was a waitress, and he was a sous chef. Still going strong!

5 miles done for the day; lunch, Target and a walk with my dog.

I can’t believe hot chocolate season is upon us, such a love/hate relationship.

We met at an Outback in 2003….must be a good luck restaurant!

Okay, this makes me SO SO SO happy!!! We are Outback fans for life now because it is our good luck restaurant and it sounds like you guys are both too:)

I need my first hot chocolate of the season! it hasnt’ cooled off enough here to make me want one yet but I am definitely looking forward to it.

Today’s plans? I have a baby shower to attend and a bridal shower this afternoon! It will be my first big tip with Benaiah, so we will see how that goes.

Ahh! Fall is upon us- can’t wait to break out the sweaters, hot cocoa, and pumpkin everything. Looks like you guys had a fun evening!!

Love your water bottle!! If you don’t mind my asking, where did you get it?

That mango salad looks amazing!

Hot chocolate is something I would not survive the cold months without

I’m super jealous of sweatshirt weather lol, I’m in AZ and it’s supposed to hit 100 today. :'( Plans today are pretty simple — t-ball, a good back workout and some more cleaning during naptime, and possibly a church party tonight (depends on how the kiddos are feeling by then).

Marathon is a week! Ahhhh! My main goal for this week is to NOT catch a cold from my husband, my son or my colleagues because everyone around is sick! Boo! My plan for today is to purell a lot, try to rest more than usual (never easy with a sick house!) and take my vitamins ;-)

Reply

Good luck and stay healthy! I giggled at your post because I’m the same way before my annual fall marathon – I work in a kindergarten classroom so I’m surrounded by sniffly kids all day, and I swear I must go through an entire jug of Purrell in the week leading up to race day! I drink a packet of Emergen-C, too – who knows if it really works but I’m not leaving anything to chance :)

Reply

Thanks Steph for your good words and for reminding me about Emergen-C! I have nothing to lose by trying it! I forgot about back to school craziness when I registered for this marathon last spring ;-)

Is that 230 miles? Lol

HAHAH I wish:) It kind of looks like it though:) Hope your weekend is a great one Lynn!

My Saturday looks like this: running + contour class at Ulta + eating arepas with my family.
Arepas are a traditional Venezuelan dish. Good source of carbs, and absolutely delicious as well:)

Reply

I want to take a contour class… your whole day sounds perfect! I need to try Arepas asap! Hope it was all amazing!!

Can you send some of that cold weather my way? It’s supposed to be record heat in Phoenix this weekend. At least the mornings are cooler!

Reply

8 hilly miles with friends for my long run! I’m in denial that fall is coming (I despise the cold!!!!) so I will do my best to be thankful for all the humidity that is still hanging around Missouri. Also my first 1-miler is tomorrow :)

Today was resting from the first week of school/work, stocking up on the week’s groceries, filling in my running log (which I have ignored since May), and filling in my racing log which I haven’t touched since November 2013!!!

Tomorrow is the Tole-Run 13K (race for tolerance) here in Sofia and I am totally psyched.

Getting back in it!

My new motto: No excuses!
My race mantra: Breathe in strength, breathe out weakness!!

The weather is gorgeous here, I wish I was able to go run. this too shall pass.

Do you just ride the lift? (I’ve never skied so I don’t quite get it).

Have to go pick up a guitar for my brother-in-law’s 50th birthday. And then we have his party tonight. I did chair Tae Bo and I’m sweating so it was a good workout.

Reply

Yeah we just rode the lift. It was a full moon so you could still see a little bit out and see some of the gorgeous scenery:) I hope that you are able to get running soon. I’m so so sorry Nina.

Hope the bday party was a blast!

22 miles DONE! Feels so good to be done with the longest training run of the season :) Rest of Saturday will consist of me taking my mom out for an afternoon movie date (for her birthday) and then my boyfriend taking me out on a date tonight !

Have a great weekend!!

Reply

NAILED IT!!! 22 miles girl, that is a huge deal. Way to go! Hope your movie date and boyfriend date was the best:)

I got in 18 miles this morning!! *With an ear infection!!

Now I’m going to rest and recover because I’m on what feels like the strongest course of antibiotics ever!!

Reply

WAY TO GO SUSIE!!! That is incredible…. ear infections are the worst and you still rocked your long run! Get that rest and feel better soon!

Reply

That looks like such a fun, fall, family activity!!!! 5-6 miles on the schedule for today! Depends on how long baby can hold out in the stroller and then I’ll finish up the rest on the treadmill of he lets me. haha Otherwise I may have to split my run until/if baby naps! Sick babies?

Reply

No long run for me…..half marathon next Sunday with some sort of foot issue. I hope I can walk when i’m done.
The chair lift is the only part of skiing I like!

Reply

OH NO!!! I hope your foot gets better asap!!!!!!!!

I am ready for Fall like weather and sweatshirts! Your night out looks like a blast!
My family ran a 5k this morning- my 11 year old daughter’s first officially timed raced! She and I ran at her pace and finished in 26:54 and my husband who is about 3 weeks into radiation treatment for cancer, finished in 31:20.
After the race, we went apple picking!

What a great day! Enjoy your weekend!

Okay that is so fun that you guys did a race as a family! Your daughter ROCKED it and your husband is absolutely amazing. You guys will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep me updated with how everything is going. Hope apple picking was amazing and that an apple pie is in your future soon!

Although I’m an adult, I have to agree with the kids’ review of Minions – I really enjoyed it too!

Today was 7 miles of hills, coaching (which added about 4 extra miles), then a nap, and a 30th bday party tonight!

Tomorrow, I am crushing 16 miles with a running group, watching football, and having brunch with the fam.

I have the same giant water bottle in purple and I love that thing!

Reply

Have a blast on your sixteen miler (and the rest of the day too)!!! Isn’t it the best water bottle ever:) Hope your party tonight was fun!!!

HOT CHOCOLATE!!!!! That made me feel just a little bit okay that cooler weather is right around the corner!

Apple chips are the bomb.com!

My husband and I had the Spartan Beast in Vermont at Killington, 16.2 miles with 7000 feet of elevation and 37 obstacles. We were part of the 40% of the starters that actually finished!
