Silentish Saturday!!!

HAPPY WEEKEND!!!

Brooke crawled into bed with me extra early which I loved because she left for the weekend later on in the day.

Knox told her to say cheese for the picture while I was doing her hair.

They got in a little more playing until Knox was off with his mom.

I ran 5 treadmill miles @ an 8:45 pace and ate this heaven for lunch.   PB shake for the win.

Brooke slept in my arms while I ate.

Kicked it on the floor with Beretta for a bit.

And then Brooke was off for the weekend.  She was so beyond excited.

Andrew won a night in Park City from his work a few months ago so we took advantage since both kids had other plans:)

ANDREW’S FAVORITE RESTAURANT EVER.  My first time!

IMG 6521

The french onion soup and steak won… so did these beautiful desserts (cheesecake and banana cream pie).

Fire pit and hot tub (yes, we’ve been all over the place since we got married—>  we just gotta make up for all the time lost over the years until we met each other;)

See ya tomorrow morning mountains.  My trail shoes are ready and my garmin is charged.

I love your hair like that in the first photo Janae, it looks great. I’ve always wanted to try Ruth Chris’s steakhouse. My parents love it too…I think there is one in Atlantic City which is about an hour drive from me…I’m too spoiled with good steak houses in Philly. Although none are as good as when we lived in Texas…not that I miss that.

Glad you’re going to have a great weekend and enjoy!

There’s one in Princeton too!
It’s funny because it’s a good steak house, but there are so many better ones in NYC or philly.

Have a fun weekend!! I’m heading out for 12 today in St Louis’ gorgeous Forest Park. So thankful the humdity left last night!

Also I gotta ask, where is Brooke’s plaid dress from?? So cute!!

My city has it marathon weekend festivities starting today. My son is running the kids 2K mini-marathon this morning, we are all doing the family 5K this afternoon and I’m walking the 1/2 marathon tommorrow. I’ve run a couple of 1/2 marathons before (can no longer run due to an untreated foot injury) and I can say after doing my training to walk a 1/2, running one is definitely easier than walking one!

I will be indoors for most of the day. It’s going to be 90 degrees and high humidity.
Long run pushes out to tomorrow. Boyfriend and I will most likely head to the movies and possibly go see a house that’s for sale that we are interested in. Other than that just some couch surfing and cuddling with my dog :)

Tonight I’m having dinner with a friend I haven’t seen since April. We live about 4 hours away from each other so I’m super excited to spend time with her and her kids.

I love the black dress you’re wearing. Where’s it from?

Reply

Hi Kate! I got that dress awhile ago but they always have really cute stuff at http://www.roolee.com. Have a great day!

Janae, I don’t know if it is just an Idaho thing but Idaho has two locations of Olive Ave and it has the cutest clothes!!!! Only issue is that when I buy a dress I see everyone out here wearing it! This won’t happen when I move to another state or even town though so I’ll keep buying their clothes! lol

Hey Janae! Not sure if it’s just my account but I’m still not seeing your posts in my bloglovin’ feed, or on your own page (through bloglovin’). Have a great day!

I’m not either!

Was just in Park City last weekend for a wedding! Such a pretty city! Got in a hike but only running miles on the treadmill while I was there unfortunately. :( Enjoy your time!!

Today:
1. Farmer’s Market

3. Meal prep for the upcoming week (which will be done tonight)

Three things I’ve got going on today:

1. Heading to the gym (hopefully)
2. Catching up on some youtube videos (aka: relaxing!)
3. Attempting to finish thank you notes from my wedding!

Reply

I hope you make it to the gym!!!

Thank you! I did make it and feel much better now that I’ve gone :)

You sure live a charmed life. A vacation every weekend.

Park City looks so fun!!!! I love that you two are making up for lost time!!! I have a 5 mile run to do today which will most likely be while baby naps…so on the treadmill. :p

^^^Milly, Janae works incredibly hard to live the life SHE has built. Let her enjoy it without feeling guilty. Everyone has hard things they are dealing with. She has said it before that she wants to keep her blog positive so she only posts 99% positive updates. She does NOT vacation every weekend…in fact it has only been lately but still not every weekend (correct if I am wrong Janae) due to being a NEWLYWED.

3 things today: laundry, grocery, and dinner with the family (the little man and I have been in Disneyland Paris all week)

Park City Marathon August 2009!

Saturday rest day; Sunday spectating the World Championships of Mountain Running! Go Team USA!

No run for me today – I’m doing a 60 mile bike in Yellowstone next month with the hubby so we will have our long ride today. But tomorrow I will prob hit a road run and a trail on Monday.

Otherwise, it’s a little housework and cooking carnitas for tacos later. Oh and the superhero muffins from Shalane’s cookbook – I’ll be making those too.

Have a great weekend!

Those superhero muffins are amazing, aren’t they?

We’ve been to Park City a few times for mountain biking and every time we go it is stunning. We’ve always gone in Fall and the colors are amazing, hope you’re getting some of that! Awesome that you guys are taking full advantage of your free weekends and living out the newlywed life. It’s inspiring me to plan something fun with my hubby of almost 14 years. Enjoy your trail run!!

love a good steak house! (even though I no longer eat steak, I still love to go for the rest of the food lol) hope you enjoyed ruth chris!

Oh I miss Park City! I worked in SLC for a client for a year and spent many weekends up there just to regroup and get away from life. So pretty I’m sure this time of year!

Three things going on today?
1. Newborn snuggles
2. Nursing
3. More snuggles ;)

No running just yet for me, so I’m vicariously running through other people’s runs.

Reply

Had 17 miles on the road planned for today

Woke up with some seriously lower back pain and decided to skip the run..

As a first time marathoner, my goals are to (1) finish and (2) have zero injuries — so I take these pains and weigh them out pretty seriously.

I’m just nervous now that I’ve missed a long run. I have an 18 and a 20 before my taper — am I screwed?

Reply

No, you are not screwed. I have done 24 marathons and can speak from experience: if you get in 75% or more of your training in, you will be totally fine. And like Janae always says (lately), better to be a bit under trained than over trained. That should also help you with your goal of no injuries! Good luck :)

Yes!! I LOVED Park City!! It was sad that we(dad, brother, and I) had to fly back to our home in TN yesterday. I would love to move to Park City someday, it’s beautiful and my kind of weather! We stayed in Salt Lake City 1 night, 3 nights in Moab, and finished our trip in Park City for 3 nights. One of the best vacations I’ve ever had and I definitely would like to come back! Next time, official meetup! ;)

We have Ruth Chris in Canada!! I had no idea they were in the U.S. ! I bet it was excellent!jade

I’ve been wondering why I haven’t seen a blog post from you in 3 days….I started to get worried something was really wrong because you NEVER miss a blogging day! Then I popped over here on my browser and saw you HAVE been posting (YAY!!) and read in comments bloglovin’ isn’t working which is what I use to read daily. So relieved you haven’t disappeared off the face of the earth! I LOVE your blog :)

1) I “lived” in Park City for 6 weeks in the summer of 2007. It was gorgeous. It was for geology field camp (geology major), and we hiked all over the area looking at rocks, formations, etc. We mapped stuff every day. Even the few days at Deer Creek when the professors warned us of the mighty fast Heeber Creeper. Boy were we in for a laugh! I had to make my way basically straight downhill in brambles though, so there’s that.

2) I came on your blog to tell you about something awesome that happened today! I work at a local running store. It’s cross country season so lots of jr. high and high schoolers are coming in for spikes or for new trainers because suddenly their fashionable Nikes aren’t cutting it for running :) Anyway, a kid came in complaining of turf toe and I was able to set him up with some good shoes to help work on that all because of what I learned of it from your blog! Thanks for keeping me current. ;p

And always, love the blog. Keep up the great work! I’ve been reading since 2008. Or was it 2009?

Love Park City!! we used to go there a lot when we lived in Salt Lake!! so pretty!
