Silent Saturday !!!

7 miles on the good ol’ treadmill and two crazy kiddos.

Matching socks to my shoes make me happy.

Cleaning, play with my babies and more cleaning :) Hubby is working all weekend:(

Where is your headband from? I really need some new ones.

Reply

I’m not Janae (!) but it looks like the ones from Lululemon. If it’s not, I recommend it! They have skinnier headbands, but I love the wide-band ones because it keeps back bangs and all the frizzies. Bit pricey for me for a headband, but good quality and worth it. And they have cute reversible colours sometimes :)

Reply

Thank You! I can’t stand my hair touching my face when I exercise and my current headbands aren’t cutting it anymore :)

Reply

YES YES YES they are the lulumenon ones… they save me during runs!

Heading to cycle class soon. That picture of Andrew, Brooke and the dog is adorable….does it look like Brooke is watching Andrew more than the dog at that sec? Her expression seems just happy to see Andrew happy with the dog too. ;-)

precious!

Can I totally bike-nerd out and ask what Andrew rides? I started following your blog maybe 6 years ago-maybe more-when I was running and in the last 3 years switched to cycling….so while I have loved following your running…is it possible that your blog got even better with the addition of cycling?! ;) So happy for you. You seem incredibly happy. :)

I’ve been house sitting and dog sitting for my boyfriend while he is still on vacation with his girls. So I ran with his dog which mostly went well except he knocked me down two houses from home trying to get to another dog. I cleaned my boyfriends house. And now I am strolling the mall for a little leisure time.

I took the recommendation from a few posts ago and got an amphipod handheld water bottle, and I love it! My only complaint is that it doesn’t magically refill.
Three things today–long(ish) run, Whole Foods to stock up on ingredients for all the RUn Fast Eat Slow meals I have planned this week and finding the perfect fall placemats for our dining room table. Total pregnancy nesting going on.
Happy weekend!

Hey there. Is know you ask for race accomplishments and I’m not one to really comment on your blog much but I do follow you and enjoy reading your entries everyday. I have an almost 4 year old as well as a 10month old and wish I lived closer to you so I could have a running buddy but alas my treadmill is where I spend most of my time. Anyway

This morning I ran the Run Elevated Half Marathon down little cottonwood canyon and ended up with a PR but what makes this more special is all that happened to me leading up to this weeks race. On Monday I went into the doctor thinking the lump (and pain) I found was a plugged milk duct that was turning into mastitis, but that turned out to be much more or so we thought. To make a long story short I went from thinking I had breast cancer, to cellulitis, back to breast cancer, and then having it all mainly disappear the day of the biopsy. Had it not been for my amazing husband, parents, and prayer team of friends, I would not have been able to run this race nor do I believe the large, bumpy, mass would’ve disappeared either. Last night I slept horrible and was up at least every hour and was really contemplating not running today, but then decided after all that I had been through this last week, that this would be a treat for myself. During my devotional this morning it talked about competitive greatness and that it is learning to rise to every occasion and to push yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually to reach your God-given potential. And I thought to myself that God has given me this ability to run and specifically this weekend, so why not use this race to honor and glorify Him. That’s exactly what I did. For the first time this year I felt relaxed the entire race. Despite being so tired physically, emotionally, and mentally from this week – I still just gave it over to God. And you know what… Not only did I win the race, not only did I Set a PR by over 3 minutes (10 minutes off my fastest this year), I reached my ultimate, ULTIMATE goal of running a half at 6 min pace. My final time today was 1:18:25 or a 5:59 pace. Needless to say I was an emotional wreck when I crossed the finish line. I just went out to have fun today and rejoice that my lump is gone and I was cleared to run. All I can say is what an AMAZiNG God we serve He listens to our cries and answers our prayers.
Anyway… I just wanted to share with you.
Have a great weekend!

Reply

Hi Rochelle! Oh my gosh! What an inspiring story. I can’t believe the week you have had but so happy that it turned out the way it did. Congrats on your PR! He does listen to our prayers and answers! Thank you so much for sharing your story! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Reply

PS. I am still in awe by your crazy fast race! Seriously, huge congratulations!!!

Reply

Why thank you. I am too. I’ve been training at a fast pace but not that fast. And with everything that went on this week there is no way I thought I’d beat my PR of a 1:21:47 let alone beat it by 3 minutes and hit my ultimate goal of doing a half at a 6min pace.

I’m in awe of you and all the miles you get in each day. I wish I could run that much and do marathons. Maybe when my girls are older. Thank you for sharing your life on this blog. Very inspirational to me ?

Reply

I just got back in town a few days ago so I need to restock my fridge and run errands today. I know, I know…. it sounds super exciting, right? Lol ;)

Love the shirt with the arrow!! Where can I get one?

Hi Erica! I got that shirt at Soel Boutique in Provo. Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

Cute photos!
Three things:
1-feeding and cleaning up after some penguins :)
2-leading an overnight of girl scouts and their parents
3-drinking a mello yello for energy to get thru until bedtime (midnight) for above mentioned overnight!

Tomorrow I will “detox” the soda with a run and salad………..I believe in everything enjoyed in moderation, even mello yello!!

I am not ready to say goodbye to warm nights either!

I went to a fashion show brunch for charity this morning with a few friends. So much fun! The rest of my day is pretty open. Just the way I like it!

3 things: 1) long run, first of this training cycle, 2) eat 3) eat ’cause that’s what long runs do to me!

It warms my heart to see how Andrew and Brooke have bonded so quickly!!

ME TOO. It is adorable. It makes my life. I hope your weekend has been a great one! Thanks for your comment:)

3 things: 1) 2 mile walk on treadmill (I ran yesterday and my garage is where the treadmill is at, is all of 5,000 degrees), 2) spent 9 hours painting my daughters room pink & purple (take everything out, prep, paint, un-prep, put all crap back in…exhausting), 3) ate some amazing cucumber dip/dressing that my Mom brought to me :) it was soooooooo good. You didn’t ask for 4, but I’m givin ya 4! 4) glass of wine, then BED.

Reply

Oh bless your heart for doing all of that painting for your daughter… painting is no joke! That dip sounds amazing and I hope you get an amazing night of sleep tonight!
