Top 10 California activities/pics from yesterday.

1.  Saturday started off in the best way possible—>  we slept in and then drove over to Rancho San Antonio County Park for some of the most beautiful trails I have ever seen.  I wish I had a 40 miler to do yesterday because there were so many different trails I wanted to explore there…  I guess I’ll just have to come back and run on these trails every California trip so that I can see everything possible over the years.

2.  My last run with Jess was when we ran to a donut shop in Las Vegas.  She is always a good time.

3.  This beautiful water fountain was waiting for me at the end.  I spent quite some time here.

4.   I don’t even remember where I got this sandwich (some random deli in Mountain View) but it was absolutely everything.  It tasted so good right after my run.

5.  A picnic to celebrate the birth of Jessie’s husband.

6.  A random stop at the mall and I saw the most beautiful pair of PureFlow 5s…  running shoes need to stop being so pretty because they make me want them all.

7.  See’s candy for the good stuff… have you had the Double Caramel ones?  Try one now.

8.  Not the prettiest food picture BUT the tastiest.  Lyfe Kitchen in Palo Alto is one of my absolute favorites.  I had the corn chowder and unfried chicken at my aunt’s house (we got it to go) while we caught up on life.  I’ll be getting this meal every time I go there from here on out.

9.  And then I tried a few of these bites—>  she got them at Whole Foods and they are amazing!

10.  Brooke hung out at the water park yesterday with her dad…  Look at that swagger with her purse.  She’s clearly a big deal.

Those are gorgeous trails! I have a long run this morning then spending some time with th family. Would you believe I’ve never had anything from See’s Candy?

I hate trying to pick out new running shoes because I just want them all!

What gorgeous views on those trails! It’s making me miss the trails in AZ. I haven’t been up in the mountains since last year. Too scared after breaking my tibia when I was rear ended.

Those trails are beautiful! I need to invest in a pair of trail shoes soon before I visit CA. No long run this week, I’m recovering from what I realized was probably a sprained ankle and stuck to the elliptical this week.

Here in Washington we are so spoiled! Even in town we have gorgeous trees etc on all the runs!

My Sunday is pretty similar to yours, but it’s my absolute favorite.

As long as the chocolates don’t have fruit flavor, coffee flavor or some weird cream in the middle I’m good. I’m all about chocolate with nuts, toffee, Carmel or more chocolate.

That park looks absolutely stunning. I would love to run there sometime, it makes me actually want to trail run. It looks like you had a great time Janae. I’m happy you had such a good weekend!

I tried See’s Candies for the first time on Mother’s Day and I CAN’T believe it’s taken me this long!! The chocolate Bordeaux was insanely delicious!

Ok, now I need to go to Northern Cali ASAP. Those trails looks epic! I had a 10k yesterday that I wasn’t completely ready for (is anyone ever completely ready for a 10k trail race?!) and that a quick run this morning. Getting some yoga in today for the first time in what seems like forever!

Those trails looks amazing!!

The hubs and I had a 10k yesterday to support a local boy that suffers from EOE. It was so much fun and I had a random stranger totally push me at the end and it was super fun!

Have you ever had the chocolate covered marshmallow/caramel/honey drizzled one from See’s. Yummo!!

Today is church and family dinner = the best way to spend a Sunday!

Amazing views! Thanks for sharing! I ran a 12-miler this morning and now I really WANT your deli sandwich and chicken with veggies haha Salty food… mium… ;-) Last long run before half-marathon in two weeks… exciting and scary every time ;-) Last month was harder than expected (lung issues, booh!) but I know I can run a HM, I just don’t know how well I can race one. Guess we’ll have to wait and see!

That trail looks absolutely gorgeous! What an amazing view for your whole run. :) This Sunday I am just staying home with my two week old baby boy and my mom is taking my 2 year old daughter to church. :)

Sees candy is one of my favorites! Every Christmas my mom sends me a box and my kiddos and I have one a night. My favorite is the round one with a layer of caramel and a layer of nougat (or is it marshmallow?). It reminds me of a milky way midnight! It’s in the box of Nuts and Chews. Delicious!!!

You have me so distracted by Sees that I am completely unable to answer the rest of the questions and I’m too lazy to scroll up.

SCHOTCHMALLOW!!!! IT IS MY FAVORITE TOO!!! I got one of those yesterday too! I hope you get some soon!!

Love Rancho San Antonio! I have been trying to run there at least once per week because it’s so awesome to get out into all the nature out there. Great job on the run!

ONCE A WEEK…. can I join you?!?! Seriously so pretty there! Thanks Michelle and I hope you are having a beautiful day!

Looks like a sandwich from Erik’s deli to me. I’d recognize it anywhere. The best!

YES YES YES!!! I paid with cash so I couldn’t even look it up on my bank statement ha!! Thank you… now I will be coming back every time. SO SO GOOD… that bread was heavenly!

I ran yesterday for 5 miles. Today I’m being fairly lazy. Chilled with the dog this morning. Now I’m chilling with the boyfriend , his kids and the dogs. We’re gonna barbecue later. :)

Sounds like the perfect Sunday! ENJOY!! I’m being really lazy today too:)

I need to try that park sometime, I always hear great things about it!

I love See’s candy! My favorites are the peanut crunch and butterscotch square.

Today I ran 11 miles with friends. Longest run since coming back from an injury, I was pretty happy!

Reply

YES!! Try is asap… it was gorgeous. Oh I love the butterscotch square. WAY TO GO on your longest post-injury run. That is a really good feeling!

Norad trail race at Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Colorado Springs, CO. Just below Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base, commonly known as N.O.R.A.D. 4 miles, 8 miles and a half. I did the 8. I am new to running and usually average 14-15 mins on these hilly, technical trails. But today my average was 13:01! 1200 feet of elevation, starting at 6500 ft. I might have been way slower than others but it was a huge improvement for me! Now on to the Garden of the gods 10 miler in June. One of our big, local races.

Reply

Christina!!!! You rocked it today. Huge congrats…. 1200 gain (when you are already so high)… AMAZING! Way to go girl and let me know how Garden of the gods goes!

Reply

You are too sweet! Thank you for being a great cheerleader.

Trails look lovely!

Got in a 14 miler yesterday and an easy 8 miler this morning (too pretty out to not run)! The rest of Sunday will consist of CHILLIN. Maybe gettin some froyo … Maybe gettin some new shoes … Maybe laying on my couch all day :)

I think you sandwich is from a deli called Erik’s Deli?! It looks like their sandwiches and plates LOL. I may need to head over to Whole food to try that ice cream.

Reply

YES YES YES!!! YOU ARE RIGHT…. a reader reminded me and yep, Erik’s… I will be back every time I visit ha. Let me know what you think of the ice cream!

My long run was on Thursday – 10 miles with 1500′ of climbing. I’m still not completely recovered!

I can’t choose a favorite See’s candy – it’s all so good, but caramel and toffee are near the top.

Reply

Wow those trails look amazing! Isn’t it funny how ten miles on trails can floor us! That sandwich looks divine btw. Fresh and filling at the same time :) I sound like Joey from Friends!!! I have probs with a wisdom tooth so am medicating the pain and trying to stay cheery!

Weekend running was a success- I had time to talk to my mom and run at the same time. My mom and running, two of my favorite things in one day? Too good.
Sunday means paper writing and pretending to have showered this morning. No one can see the grease behind my hat, right? The poor people that had to stare at the back of my head at my church…
The swagger of Brooke is too good- that’s what we call confidence!

Rancho San Antonio is such a great trail running spot! Parking can be a beast, but it is so worth it!! :)

Reply

HAHAH yes!! It took us like 20 minutes to find a spot but you are right, SO SO SO SO WORTH IT!!! Hope you are having a fabulous Sunday Annie!

Reply

So glad you went to rancho! I love it there, especially ending up at the farm!

I love dark chocolate/almond combos.

Reply

Those ice cream bites are my favorite! They’re delicious and I feel less guilty for eating them because they’re somewhat healthier. Glad you had a fun trip!

My daughter has that same purse! Lol, she’s one, and she’ll whip out her ‘lipstick’ and ‘credit card’ when we’re shopping. It’s hysterical.
Trail running is the best. Nothing else compares.

Reply

love exploring new trails when in a different place… makes the run so much more enjoyable!
