I hope your weekend has been a good one so far. We did a whole lot of randomness (like usual) so here ya go:
1. I’m happy to have a smoothie buddy in the mornings (same combo as yesterday—> vanilla protein powder, frozen blueberries, bananas, milk ((we ran out of normal milk so we used chocolate milk instead)) and almond butter).
She makes sure to help with the clean-up of the almond butter spoon.
2. My workout was a 30 minute bootcamp type class and it was awesome. My mouth stuff is still not feeling super great + I feel like a little break from running for my leg (it’s been bugging me a bit) is a good idea= no run yesterday. This was my first Saturday in some time without a long run which felt strange.
3. Boston themed shoes and Brooke’s current love of lightsabers.
4. Josse scraped my leg and I’m sure that will get it back to normal in no time. It has been a long time since I had this done and I was quickly reminded how badly this hurts. But it has helped me a ridiculous amount of times in the past so I’m a big fan of graston.
PS the benefits of this technique are—> decreased pain, increased circulation, it breaks up scar tissue, immune and anti-inflammatory effect, increases surface circulation of blood, quicker injury recovery, quicker recovery after a hard workout (leans out the lactic acid that builds up in the muscles) and it breaks up cellulite and micro-toxins.
5. Carousel party.
6. Brooke makes the best shopping partner because she is always bringing me over things that she thinks would look cute on me;)
7. Meg makes for a pretty cool shopping partner too. Just working on my curls.
8. We went to Bajio’s to pick up a salad to take to my sister but once we saw the salads we decided that we were ready for dinner ourselves. At 4:30 pm. The early bird special. We actually ran into my dad there picking up salads for my him and my mom too ha!
9. I told Brooke that if she wanted to go to the movies with her friends last night that she needed to take a nap first. And 2 minutes later and she was out. She’ll do whatever it takes to hit up the movies.
10. #squadgoals
11. We’ve been listening to the Sound of Music soundtrack in the car so she was pretty stoked when we found the Youtube clips. Edelweiss gets me every time.
12. I woke up to this text from my brother yesterday:
Enjoy your day and fill me in on what’s going on in your world!!!

I’ve never tried scraping… Sounds ouch, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it!
Sarah @ SarahRuns26
It rained here all day yesterday! Almost three inches. We definitely needed it so that’s ok by me!
Easy workout days are good sometimes. We just have to be good with listening to our bodies and doing what’s best! But it is weird not having weekend long runs!! I’m in the same boat with that right now!
Linda @ The Fitty
What made you decide to forgo the run and instead do an at home workout?
Jenni
As she stated in her post…. (and previous posts), she had dental work done and needs to take a short break.
SHERMAN
Oh well everyone doesn’t read Janaes blog EVERDAY so pipe down buttercup.
Jenni
Whoa. It was just a statement replying to her question! What is wrong with you and people who write stuff like this?! Seriously – your reply is 10 x more ‘rude’ than mine ever was.
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
It’s been awhile since I’ve done scraping. It helped a lot when I was injured and also when I was recovered and gaining my strength back. It’s crazy how quickly muscles go on you and how much work it is to get them back.
kimberly
so embarrassing but can you find out where that little girls jacket with the sequin sleeves is from??? my daughter (i) would LOVE it. ha!
Hollie
Those type of massages are my favorite. I feel as though relieve a lot of muscle stress and strain. I hope you feel good afterwords Janae.
I need to work on my strength as well. I’ve been lacking a lot lately so I think that will be my focus.
Jessica
I have to know where you got your green/floral rung from! I’ve been searching for something to match the green curtains in my kitchen! :) Happy Sunday!
The Hungry Runner Girl
Hey Jessica! I got it at Anthropologie and it is my favorite! Happy Sunday to you too!!!!
Hannah @ Will Run For Coffee
I did a strength workout yesterday, and MAN ALIVE I can barely move today :( It’s lovely and sunny in London, so I’ve been for a run and we’re off to hang out with some friends in a bit. I think we’ll walk there, as this involves minimal standing up and sitting down; my main two enemies today.
Jenny
Bajios! I love Bajios. Their mango salsa was my favorite, do they even still make it? I haven been for a long time.
I sure wish my kids would take a nap like that. They haven’t napped since the day they turned two.
Meredith @ the cookie chrunicles
My son always loved the carousel! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Cynthia
That smoothie sounds amazing!! Also still very seriously considering that Apple Watch.. Keeping it low key rest of the weekend, have to fly back to Arizona today – weather out in the Midwest is gorgeous though!
Sky @ lifeintshirts
I’ve been trying to get back into making smoothies regularly. They are so easy and delicious!
The Hungry Runner Girl
Right!?!? I forget about them for months and then I make one and then it turns into what I want to eat for every meal ha! Hope you get one soon!!!
Allie
WHERE did you get Brooke’s sandals??!! I’ve been looking for some exactly like that for my girls!!
The Hungry Runner Girl
Hey Allie!! !I found them at Old Navy! I can’t find them online but they have a ton of cute sandals right now:

AND now I want donuts! I wonder if any place around here delivers?…
I’ve never had Graston done on me, but have had ASTYM performed many times. Same concept, I think, but no pain involved. I’ve found it to be very helpful!
Today is all about catching up on laundry for us.
Brooke
I just discovered this blog from a runner friend. I had never heard of the Graston Technique. The salads look hearty!
The Hungry Runner Girl
HEY BROOKE!!! WELCOME:) Also, your name is my favorite:) I hope you are having a fabulous Sunday!
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul
I love your new headshot!
The Hungry Runner Girl
Oh thank you ERIN!!!! Hope your Sunday is amazing so far!
Jackie
I’m getting pumped up to take the train into Boston early tomorrow morning! It’s become a tradition for my husband and our friends to go to the redsox game and then cheer on the runners! This year is extra special because we’re bringing our 11 month old daughter! So excited!
Also, Edelweiss is my favorite :) My grandparents owned a restaurant with that name and a few years ago at my grandmothers funeral they played the song and I don’t think anyone had a dry eye. I now sing it as lullaby for my baby girl!
The Hungry Runner Girl
Oh Jackie! That sounds like the best tradition ever and this year will be even better than ever for you guys! Enjoy! Your story about your grandparents’ restaurant gave me the goosebumps. Thank you for sharing!
Lee
The Sound of Music is my favorite movie and my five sisters’ favorite movie. We used to watch it nonstop and had it memorized. We even acted out various scenes. I sing the songs to my 3.75 year old son.
I had a salad for lunch but it didn’t look as good as yours. I did put bacon lover’s turkey on it. That stuff is where it’s at.
SHERMAN
Are you sure he isn’t 3.85?
Jazz
You had me up until cellulite and microtoxins- that is definite pseudo science.
Tedi @ Running With Infertility
Love getting scraped! I need to get back with her again soon! :)
The allergies have been kicking my butt and I think it lead to me not feeling 100% so yesterday I took a nap instead of a 5 mile run. But it definitely helped cause I do feel a little better.
Tina
I like to eat smoothies for lunch because then I can easily eat and work through lunch on my computer. This week I had a few different kinds: apple cinnamon, cinnamon sweet potato and strawberry banana and cherry. Your smoothie sounds delicious!
Jennifer Kyle
Love the donut picture! Too cute.
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff
Graston is so painful but helped me immensely!
I got to see my boyfriends daughter in her gymnastics meet. She placed first in floor and I got to do her hair which made me feel pretty special. Oh and she said she thinks of me as a super close baby sitter. I melted.
tara williams
I LOVE the new look of the blog! So stylish! Xo !

I could watch “The Sound of Music” a minimum of once a month and not get tired of it. I so love that movie. Neither of my kids have developed a love for it yet…so sad to me. I “thought” I had hooked my daughter when they learned “Doe a Deer..” in music class and tried to get her to watch YouTube videos from the movie. But, that was all she wanted. Gonna have to try again soon. #julieandrewsisdabombforeva #istillwanttobelieseleventhoughherboyfriendchoicewasterrible

what a fun weekend!!! I really want to try scraping!
Jill @ RunEatSnap
Those donuts look so good!
adrianna
Edelweiss is a family favorite! i actually picked it out as a wedding song years ago…just gotta find a man, fall in love, etc etc…ha
Amy
Thanks for making this video! Did you use an app to make it? I’ve been trying to make a similar one for my clients but I’m not sure what to use.
Christina @glittergirl
Maybe I need smoothies after my tempo run on Tuesday nights. I try to scarf down a proper hot dinner but it just isn’t working for my belly. Packing a smoothie with nutrients sounds like a better option!
My favourite food (well it’s a combo) right now is choc chip cookies eaten with jelly lollies (soft candy). It’s just a winning combo, sweet, salty, crunchy and soft. I’m clearly a multitasker!!
Mindy
Does Josse take new clients? Do you give out her contact info? I tried to go to her blog you linked once but it looks like it’s gone. My husband
Is really wanting to have this done!
