I will never understand Peeps. Eww. I’m not sure I have a candy just specific to Easter. :/

I think I got my first pair of running real shoes in high school They were Asics. I haven’t worn Asics since then–I definitely prefer Saucony now.

I don’t get the Peeps appeal. But I don’t really care for marshmallows of any kind, so I’m probably not the person to ask! I do, however, LOVE Cadbury mini eggs. I need to stock up for the year!

I just finished After You (which I loved!) and now I’m reading Carry On, Warrior, which I really like so far!

I don’t remember my first pair of shoes, but my first pair of marathon shoes were a Nimbus 6. They were green and I loved them. I’m pretty sure I still have them in my closet somewhere!

Easter candy is my least favorite of holiday candy, but I do like Cadbury mini eggs. Not the big ones though- I used to love those but now they are too much sugar!
My first pair of actual running (rather than just cross training) shoes were Nikes. When I finally switched brands long distance running became easier because my feet didn’t hurt as much!

Reply

I use to love peeps but I just can’t do that much sugar anymore! They just taste too sweet now. I love that infographic especially to think about what we’ll be wearing in the future. I played a lot of volleyball growing up so I wore Mizunos to run in religiously and now they hurt my feet! I’m all about the minimal shoes I love Pureflows, Newton Gravity, and Saucony Kinvara!

Best dancing video ever!!!

Brooke is EVERYTHING in this video. She looks so happy :)

oh my! I’m dying at that video! Brooke is just loving the whole situation! haha

That infographic is really interesting. I love my running shoe information and it’s cool to see it compiled like that. It’s fun to see how far they’ve come. I remember seeing that New Balance spike and being intrigued by it. I think we are going to see a trend in much higher cushioned shoes.

Reply

I was 10 when I got my first running shoes. They were some kind of Nike shoe and I hated them haha. Maybe they were Reeboks either way I didn’t like them.
I’m not a peeps fan and have never understood the hype. Cadbury eggs on the other hand are amazing.

Reply

Don’t love peeps, actually I think they’re disgusting! I do love the hoodie life however, that’s my life 24/7 :)

Reply

I’m not really a fan of Peeps. My favorite easter candy are the reeses eggs. I love how reeses customizes their candy for any holiday! I will also eat chocolate bunnies, starburst jelly beans, and robin eggs!
My first pair of running shoes were nikes. They were just from the department store and caused alot of blisters. I’ve since gone through so many shoes, different types of adidas shoes, new balance minimus, and now the nike frees.

Your dance party rocks! I love how “into” everyone is. So cool!

Oh my gosh that video had me cracking up! The nephew in the front seat……when he was doling out the cash! Hysterical……..but in a cool way!

Reply

I love peeps. My cousin hates them and we debate about them every year when she sees me most my first box on Facebook. Lol.

Reply

My first pair of running shoes were Nike – I don’t know the style. I had a lot of issues with my IT Band while running in them. Turns out, I was a pronator and needed a stability shoe. The Brooks Adrenaline saved my running career. ☺

I don’t quite understand the peeps appeal. Now, if they were covered in chocolate… I’m a Cadbury crème egg girl. SOOOO good.

Reply

Love Easter candy…actually love all candy. Marshmallow eggs (with the hard candy shell) peeps, marshmallow chicks & bunnies ( which are a fancy circus peanut) and candy corn bunnies and chicks. Give me all the crazy sweet sugar

Reply

Always gluten free, fat free *and taste free

Your nephew’s shimmy at the end was aaaamazing.

I like Addias Boost shoes but they changed them up and now I am looking for a new shoe because I do not like the changes. I can’t wear Nike’s because I have a freakishly high instep and they are not foot friendly for me. :(

I love your new shoes! I never thought I would like black running shoes but I just bought some and am officially on the bandwagon.

Reply

Haha, that video is adorable! You have the best family :)

I’m currently reading Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard.. It took me a while to get into it because I’d forgotten most of the first book, but it truly is a great series.

I got my first pair of running shoes in 6th grade. They were reebok and a darkish tealish color. They cos $100. It was a big deal since there were 6 kids.

Peeps….used to hate them, now I love them. I love making s’mores with them.

It looks like your family is a whole lot of fun!

Starburst jelly beans!!! In just plain strawberry best flavor EVER! Loved peeps when I was a kid not so much anymore. Currently reading Where She went the sequel to IF I Stay by Gayle Forman. Don’t remember my first shoe but know my next shoe HOKA Bondi 4 .

Reply

Janae! I just finished The Nightingale – you have to read it. It made me cry for hours (more like sobbing uncontrollably) but it’s so, so good. It’s heartbreaking and horrifying but so powerful.

Peeps – thumb down. Which is surprising because I basically love anything made of sugar. :)

Reply

I loved Nightingale as well. Great book.

Reply

Peeps gross me out. I grew up vegetarian and so mom never let me eat them and I’ve tried them since, and they gross me out. :S

I’m reading a few books, “Smart Money, Smart Kids”, “Conquering Infertility” I need a good running book to help get me motivated to run again. Any suggestions?

Reply

I loved born to run! And apparently his other running books are great too. Christopher McDougall is the author.

Reply

That video just made my whole week!!! Haha thanks so much for sharing!

Reply

Love the video!! Reminds me of me and my sista!

Reply

Peeps must be American I’ve never heard of them. I love Cadbury mini eggs at Easter though, and scrumptious hot cross buns (choc chip ones rock). I’m reading Confessions of a Fitness Model by Madelyn Moon – very interesting read for anyone who has struggled with body image/over exercising/restrictive dieting. I got it as a pre-release but think it should be out now or soon. My first pair of official running shoes were bright blue and orange. Sound ugly but actually were quite nice haha.

Reply

I love those Cadbury eggs!!! One of the few great things of living in London currently is that we can get them ANYWHERE! :)

Reply

P.S That video made my day. Had a rough day at work so sitting on the train home and it just cracked me up. All your faces are classic!!

OOOO I used to love peeps when I was little!!! My mum would visit the states and bring back a few boxes – we dont have them in Greece – and then i ll take them to school and for a day i was like the coolest kid LOL!
I can’t remember my first running shoes :( but i believe I was 12 or 13 years old.

Reply

Peeps are gross! Sorry. (Not sorry). :)
I love this running shoe evolution!! That is the coolest thing!! Oh man, my first pair of running shoes must have been for my middle school track meets…unless I just wore my adidas! Wish I could remember!

Reply

J, I am reading The Man Called Ove, which I think you would love. I also read Kitchens of the Midwest, which was just such a well-written and creative book, I also highly recommend that one as well.

Can you write about the motivation/success psych book you are reading now? How has it changed your thought process on life/running? Recommend it?

Reply

I detest Peeps, but love Cadbury mini eggs. Of course, the old standby Reese’s peanut eggs are always a good choice as well.

I just finished My Name is Lucy Barton. I was intrigued by it, but it was definitely different. I’ve read some pretty heavy books lately, so now I’m reading E is for Evidence just for fun.

I didn’t get my first pair of running shoes until I was 45, when I trained for my first marathon (coincidently my first running experience ever), the St. George Marathon in 2006. They were Nikes. Now I’m a big Brooks fan.

Reply

I thought for a long time that I hated peeps. Then i found the vanilla creme flavored ones, and I realized i just didn’t love the flavor of the originals. The vanilla ones, I love :-)

Reply

Peeps – Cute but gross.
Cadbury Eggs – Heaven in my mouth.

I don’t even remember my first pair of running shoes but I am 97% sure they were Brooks!! haha!

I love the infographic! It’s so interesting to see how the shoes have evolved. I’d say my first real running shoes that I used for running were Nike Free 4.0s back in 2011.

As for Peeps, totally gross but I also don’t dig marshmallows in general. I love Cadbury mini eggs, that hard candy shell – YUM! I’m reading the Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline, so far I think it’s really cute. I did just finish The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell and I would totally recommend it!

Reply

LOLOLOL!!! That dancing video is FABULOUS!! You are all PERFECT! I love how Brooke is totally into it and never misses a beat :)

I’m reading 80/20 Running by Matt Fitzgerald. It’s giving me A LOT to think about.

I remember some yellow and blue Nikes…my first cool shoes. I wore Etonic when I ran track and cross country. I don’t think they make those anymore

Reply

Oh. My. Gosh! That dancing video is THE most fun! You’ve got a great family of dancers and your nephew has mad skillz! I loved his money flinging at the beginning!

Reply

That dancing video is amazing! So much fun :)

Peeps are not my favorite. Starburst jelly beans are some of my favorite Easter candy. And anything from Lindt.

I just finished The Nightingale – SO good. Now I’m reading The Courage to Start, even though running is not exactly new to me.

I got my first running shoes in high school when I ran cross country freshman year. I think they were either Nikes or Adidas. I don’t really wear either of those anymore.

Reply

STALE Peeps! :)

My first pair of real running shoes were either Asics or Saucony and I was 28 or 29 – I didn’t start running until then! Now I only wear New Balance.

Love the dancing!

Reply

Peeps make me happy! My grandmother would buy them for me every Easter and did up until my 20s. The only reason she stopped is when I moved an ocean away =(

Reply

OMG I love your family even more after your dance party

Reply

How do you like the Launch 3s? I’ve been wearing the Pure Cadence for the past few years and still love them, but want to try something else. I know you have worn the Cadence in the past, so what are your thoughts?

Reply

Chocolate covered peeps!! My local candy store does them – but the Peeps ones are good too!

Reply

I was 13 years old and they were a pair of red and white adidas.

Reply

I usually like peeps when I’m in the middle of a training cycle…same with all sugary things! Easter is my favorite because of the reason for the holiday, but secondly because of the candy!!!!! The pastel colors make any candy that much better! ?
