What motivates you? A cute story. And Star Wars shirts.

I was pretty excited to rock my Star Wars shirt yesterday.

IMG 4011

Brooke was pretty excited to hang out with grandma for a few minutes before going to bed at their house.

IMG 4032

She is a big fan of doing strides right before bed to help her leg turnover:)

IMG 4014

My guy is a real good sport and he wore a Star Wars shirt to the movie too.  PS can I tell you a fun story real quick?  After we had just started dating he took me to a sporting goods store and told me that we were going to go in and he was going to buy some clothes for himself.  We went inside and he told me that he has never been a cardio-exercise-type-person but that he wanted to start running because he knew how important running is to me.  He wanted to start running so that we could go for a run together every now and then.  He needed my help to pick out some running clothes for him and asked me to teach him about it while we shopped:)  Heart melted.   His dad told me he was quite shocked when he started going over to their house to use their treadmill to get started:)

IMG 4036

Okay, back to last night…  We didn’t have time to grab dinner before the movie and so we grabbed some food at the theatre.  For the first time in years I ate olives.  I forgot to tell them no olives on my taco salad and I had a hard time picking them out in the dark movie theater.  I ended up eating some of them.  The verdict is in… I still do not like them one bit.

IMG 4037

We had the recliner seats for the movie which takes comfort to the next level.   PS remember how I told you to cross your fingers that I would win tickets for Star Wars?  I won them so thank you for all of the finger crossing!

IMG 4038

Afterwards I went to pick Brooke up and transfer her home (it is incredible how she can sleep through pretty much anything) and this was on the counter.  My mom’s neighbor makes the best lemon cake on the planet so I had to have a midnight snack.

IMG 4045

Let’s talk about motivation for a second.  I had a reader email me the other day asking about what motivates me to work out each day and it got me thinking about it because currently my two BIGGEST motivators aren’t in the picture—>  training for a race and having friends to meet for a run together each morning.  Having a race on the agenda is usually what pushes me the most to get in the miles but right now I don’t have any idea when my next race will be.  I also have been on the treadmill a lot because of the weather and babysitting and so I don’t have the girls waiting for me in the morning to get me out the door for a run.  So without my two biggest motivators I still feel motivated to get my sweat on for a few reasons:

IMG 3977

-I know I will feel SO MUCH better after a run.  Just knowing my day will go much more smoothly helps me to get my gear on and go.  I’ll feel more energetic, happier, more positive, more patient etc etc etc.  I know myself way too well and I know that even if I don’t feel any desire to get in a sweat… that if I do I will feel so much better than if I don’t.

-I am sure if you have been working out for awhile then you feel the same way as me but exercise just feels like it is part of my day at this point.  It is just part of the agenda and so I just do what I do every day.

-Alone time.  Even though lately I have the Brookers running around playing right by me as I run, it still feels like my running is my alone time.  I think we all need at least a few minutes each day where we can just zone out and be alone.  Running gives me that opportunity to have some time to slow down (weird that I feel like I am slowing down when I run…), relax and refocus.   This alone time helps me feel motivated to keep doing it because I sure love having a bit of it each day.  Finding the positives (like some alone time) of working out and looking forward to those positives is a huge motivator for anyone right?

-I don’t want to get out of the habit.  I know how long it takes to make a habit and I’d rather just keep going with this habit instead of falling out of the routine of working out and then trying to get back into it again.  Does that make sense?

What are your biggest motivators right now to run?

Who has seen Star Wars?  What did you think?

Tell me your true feelings about olives?

Can’t stand black olives but love green and kalamata. Lately I’ve been lacking on motivation entirely, and races ahead are probably the only thing getting me out the door! And podcasts, those are good motivators too!

Reply

I’m the opposite! I cannot stand green olives, but black olives are my thing.

What can agree on is a recent lack of motivation. I’m blaming the lack of sunlight.

Reply

I’m almost always training for a race, which helps to keep me motivated. I know I can’t miss too many workouts if I want to be able to finish a race without too much pain! I’m with you, I also need some alone time. I love running with friends, but sometimes you just need to run and spend that time by yourself.

I haven’t seen Star Wars yet! I’m hoping this week. My husbands boss took his whole office to see it last Friday!

I hate olives. Gross.

Aging. Running is the fountain of youth, right?

Reply

Yes!

Reply

I haven’t been consistent with my running mainly because the sun doesn’t rise until 7:15am and I leave for work shortly thereafter. I can’t seem to get myself up or even feel awake enough to run. But the motivator to run when I can is definitely to relieve stress.

Reply

Definitely the endorphins and the stress relief and the habit things- right there with you! Also Netflix on the treadmill doesn’t hurt! I recently took a break to heal at the end of my pregnancy (issues forced me to sit as much as possible) and it was a bit too much trying to work out with a newborn. Now he’s 3 months old and I’m back running every day since about a month ago and I can’t even describe how much I missed it! The break was nice after a little bit of burnout too, but I’m so glad to be back at it!

Reply

that is SO great that the boy is learning something because YOU are passionate about it. sounds like a keeper and we should probably meet him so he gets our approval ;)

I always feel better after I work out. GETTING to the gym/out for a run is the hardest part for me. Especially super-early spin classes, BUT I always walk out feeling like a champ and riding an endorphin-high. Wins.

no Star Wars for me, but Sisters was pretty great :)

Reply

All of your motivators are SO true. They’re a big reason I keep going. That, and I just love it.

I also HATE olives. Black, green, stuffed with blue cheese, doesn’t matter. Olives and mushrooms are my two foods that I avoid at all costs.

Reply

My biggest motivator to run is that I can. I’m not injured anymore, and I want to continue to improve and stay healthy. Plus, it keeps me sane. :)

Olives are disgusting.

Reply

Haven’t seen Star Wars yet but I’m sure we will eventually!

Olives… YUCK!!! My husband loves them though so when I make pizza I have to put them on his half only. :) The things we do for love!

Reply

Negative on the olives for me. I went through a big motivation slump (lasted a few weeks) but I just let it run its course. I didn’t workout or think about it much during that time. Eventually, the feeling faded and I feel much more inspired and excited to workout. That “tactic” doesn’t work for everyone but I know myself well enough that these little hiccups don’t phase me.

Reply

Star wars was Amazing!! Best movie since Star Wars came out decades ago. I’m so happy to see where they take the characters in the next year! <3 <3 and i love your shirt!

Reply

Are you sure you want to know what I think about olives? I hate them!

I cannot for the life of me get my boy friend to run with me, but we do a lot of other fun things together like mountain bike and rock climb so I can’t really complain, but that was SUCH a sweet story!

I’m post-marathon too so my biggest motivator is gone. My main one is the fact that I need to stay in shape because I’m sure I’ll cook up some new running goals soon and I don’t want to start those from ground zero!

Reply

Where did you get those tee shirts at???

Reply

Target!!!! Go get some now:)

Reply

Biggest motivator: ME time.
I loved Star Wars and I really had no desire to go, stupid jedi mind tricks ;)
Olives are gross. Period.

Reply

The new Star Wars movie was everything, but they left you with so many questions!!! Which obviously makes me hungry for the next one!

Verdict on olives = no. Just, no.

Reply

Don’t like olives. Never have, never will. Even in France, when they were everywhere, I was like, “Nope, still can’t.”

Biggest motivator: the habit. I don’t want to fall out of that routine. And it makes me feel (strangely) like I have more time in the day? Weird but true!

Reply

Such a sweet story! I love it :) Very happy for you!

As for olives, I only like the green ones…and in very small amounts- all the others: yuck :/

Merry Christmas!

Reply

Thank you for the daily posts and enthusiasm. I’m almost 7 months pregnant and running had to take a side step for me. Reading your posts every morning reminds me how much I love running and how it’s going to be there for me once jr gets here :)

Reply

Your guy sounds so sweet! I love that he got interested in something just because you love it. What a great influence you are! ;)

Reply

I totally agree: Knowing how good I’ll feel after a run usually does the trick for me. But I still have to drag myself by the ears sometimes…!

Reply

That story about your bf!! So sweet..he is a keeper :) I really liked Star Wars and loved the kick butt female character! She is amazing. I also really like olives…sorry!!

Reply

Well your boy is just too cute… that story is just adorable. I completely agree with you that I keep up my exercise because once you stop, it is SO hard to get back into the groove. My biggest motivator is one of your too… I am just in a better mood and know I will feel so much better the rest of the day.

Reply

I used to hate olives but I started to like them as I got older.
Its great that your guy is wanting to get into running with you! When my husband told me he would run a 5k with me, I was a happy camper!
My biggest motivator right now is all the positive things running brings to my life, mostly the sense of strength and accomplishment. I am not training for a specific race right now but like you said, its just a part of my day now!

Reply

Since I got my Cystic Fibrosis diagnostic six years ago, it’s been my main motivator for running. There is nothing better to keep my lungs healthy. I want to live many many more years and see my little guy become a man. As a mom and a full time worker, running also keeps me sane (or I like to think so :-) ) and there’s nothing like endorphins to start my day!

Reply

That is so great that your guy wants to get into running!
I loved Star Wars and my husband and I already plan on seeing it again.
I don’t like olives at all. I can tolerate kalamata, but I usually feed them to my husband.

Reply

Nice shirts.

Do not like olives, but will eat them on a supreme pizza. Just because I’m too lazy to pick them off.

Reply

That’s such a cute story about you and your boo! I used to always want to workout with my fiance but he would never workout with me because he would always go running and I was doing something else. I started running with him in hopes that we could workout together and now I love it! I’m starting to catch up with him ;)
I try to make working out (whether it’s running or something else) a part of my daily routine. When I am not feeling up to it though, I remind myself of how much better I will feel after the run and that usually helps. Most of the time it’s just getting out the door that is the hardest part.
I have not seen Star Wars yet but my guy is hosting a marathon Star Wars party this weekend for my mom and I since neither of us have seen it. After that, he is going to take us to see the new one. I know. He’s the best, right?
HATE HATE HATE olives.

Reply

I adore olives!

My motivation right now is my Ironman in August. It makes it much easier to go out and work hard knowing that race is coming up. When I’m not preparing for a race, I’m still good about getting exercise in because I do enjoy it. I’m just not good at working hard enough to improve. I just go out and take it easy.

Reply

It’s funny cause right now I have no race planned, no training plan and somehow I am running the fastest I have all year! Crazy right?? Oh and I love the boy story. He sounds like a catch!

Reply

My biggest motivation is usually a race or knowing how hard it is to build back up to the point where running/training is fun.

Olives are gross.

Are those Mac Rogas?? They’re my favorite running short, do you love them?

Reply

They sure are…. They are my favorite running shorts ever! I want every single color hahah! I think we would be real good friends between your disgust for olives and your love for Mac rogas!

Reply

I have pretty much every single color, no joke! Thankfully they go on sale often enough that I don’t feel bad stocking up.

We would be good friends, I think! I also love chocolate and my daughter was born in June 2012 :) Come visit NYC!

Reply

That is so cute that your boyfriend started running for you. I am, for the first time in my dating history, with a runner myself and it is pretty darn incredible.

Reply

My biggest motivation to run right now is the mood boost. Finally the days will be getting longer but it has been so dark and depressing lately I just need the extra endorphins after work and not seeing the sun.
I live in a house divided – one of us likes olives the other hates them. There is a lot of picking off and redistributing.

Reply

I like olives but too many olives can over do things. I hate mushrooms though.

A race is my number one motivator. As well as having someone I know waiting for me.

Reply

What did you think of the movie?!?!?!?!

I saw it and looooooooved it. Already want to see it again!
Stress relief is my number one motivator.

Reply

Oh we loved it so so so much too! It was incredible!

Reply

Biggest motivator to run is knowing how good I’ll feel afterwards! Plus … More mileage makes cookie-eating way more fun.

Running has also become such a routine part of my daily life so it’s hard to NOT run. Creature of habit!

Reply

Olives are just…. yuck!
I love, love, loved the new Star Wars movie!
My biggest motivator to work out right now is pretty shallow but I really want my clothes to fit better again.

Reply

I hope your guy runs fast so he can keep up with you!!! : )
Love olives.

Reply

The guy is a definite keeper!!!! I love would to find someone who loves to be active as much as me :)

My motivators are same as yours. In the winter, it is great to get out and be with my friends and sister and enjoy the crisp fresh air. It gets dark super early so knowing I have run buddies to run with at night makes it so much fun! And is it me….or do others feel like they run SO MUCH FASTER in the dark?!

Star Wars….never seen the series. Such is the life of a full-time worker and student. Perhaps when I graduate?

Olives…only certain kinds. Usually a no no for me.

Happy holidays everyone!

Reply

I really think olives are an acquired taste. I’m not a big fan of black olives (unless they are buried in a pizza and I don’t notice) but I love Calamata olives. I have a half marathon on the 3rd and then another one 9 weeks later that I have big hopes for! That’s my motivation to get my workouts in. Plus I agree about the alone time. Even if my kids are playing in front of the treadmill, it’s my time to zone out.

Reply

yay for finding someone who not only supports what you do, (i.e. running) but want to join you! My husband is incredible about all things running, especially about watching the boys so mom can get out and run every weekend for my long runs…he makes the love of running more lovable!
I love olives, but it wasn’t an immediate love…It wasn’t until after I turned “adult” that I started to enjoy foods like olives, beets, and fennel.
I agree with your reasons for running…I am the same way! we jokingly say the “hamster needs her wheel” when I haven’t run yet ;)

Reply

I couldn’t agree more with you about the olives. Blah so gross! As for motivation, I rarely don’t feel in the mood for a workout but when I do I remind myself how good I will feel when it’s done and how crappy I will feel if I do not workout. I’ve never regretted a workout after I’ve done it.

Reply

Those star wars shirts are great!!! I love the Christmas one!!! I need to get back to running!! Ugh! I’ve been so bad lately. I have two races coming up and I haven’t trained at all! Yikes…
I like olives :)

Reply

Olives are one of my favorite foods of all times. Always have been!

Brace yourself, but I’ve never seen Star Wars. Any of them.

My biggest running motivator is my sanity. If I don’t run on the reg, I feel like my brain doesn’t work right and I can’t stay awake. Even if it’s a weak run, I crave it!

Reply

I agree that a race is usually my #1 motivator but others include: the feeling of accomplishment, how much I love endorphins and no matter what I come back feeling amazing, and of course, the calorie burn! :)

Olives aren’t my favorite but I don’t mind them in things.

Reply

Whenever a friend asks me about starting to run and what motivates me, the top of the list is always alone time! Barring some unforseen event, my running/workouts in the morning are my only guaranteed alone time! Alone time is just as good if done with a friend. ;)

Reply

Love olives!!! Don’t hate me but I’ve never seen any Star Wars movie ever :)

Reply

I love that story! A really exciting and thoughtful start to a relationship. And he’s got a great mentor. :)

Reply

I highly dislike olives! I like olive oil… just not the actual olives!

I am the same way, knowing that I would feel better after a run gets me going… even when I don’t want to!

Reply

I loved the movie! I am not even a huge SW fan but was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time!
As far as running motivators- mine has always been to improve my time and BQ! Also maintaining the habit for health and fitness is huge. I do have a tough time continuing to train when I am not signed up for a race– therefore, I tend to sign up for several at a time to keep me going! Just another crazy runner here :)

Reply

My motivator is just that I know I will feel so much better and less stressed etc after I run! I honestly feel like a new person after I run even if I am dreading the run when I start. Kind of crazy how that works right?? Also I am motivated because I like to eat :) If I run I feel 100x less guilty about having that dessert/late night snack/etc!

I used to HATE olives. These past few years I really am warming up to them. Funny how that works!

Reply

Reading your blog makes me feel like I’m reading a book I can’t put down because I’m dying to know more about this mystery man! LOL

Reply

I know right?? So far we’ve seen shoes, chest… getting closer! :)

Reply

I started running almost 20 years ago. I’ve gone through times when I was hit or miss, but I feel so much better when I’m consistent. To avoid injury, I usually take at least one, and sometimes two, rest days a week. I also cross train on my mountain bike. I’m 51 and on zero medications, my health is great, so that keeps me going, too!

I have never seen any Star Wars movies. None. And have zero interest.

I love olives of all kinds. My grandfather grew them, so I grew up eating his fantastic olives and all of the grandkids were experts at putting olives on each finger ;)

Reply

My current running motivations are as follows: a) stay healthy and fit to provide a good example to my kids b) lose some stubborn baby weight c) to have some alone time to re-center.

Yes, saw it. Loved it. HUGE Star Wars fan from birth. Return of the Jedi was the first movie I ever saw in theaters and The Force Awakens captured that same sense of “awe” for me.

HATE olives. All of them. Sometimes I don’t even enjoy olive oil…

Reply

Haha love your star wars shirts! And that story about your guy wanting to run- so sweet!! :) My biggest motivator to work out, right now, at 36 weeks pregnant (!!!) is definitely that awesome feeling of accomplishment and just feeling like I’m doing my body GOOD that I get afterward. It is SO HARD right now to exercise, to get the motivation, but I just have to remind myself how great I will feel after, and that helps a lot!!

xo

Reply

Totally agree with all the things that motivate you. I’d add getting in girl time with my running friends and if I’m really honest, so I can eat more cookies. Oops.

You can all send me your olives!

Reply

That is a great story with your guy! So cute!
My motivators are to stay in shape and not lose fitness because I have a half in March, so another week of taking it easy, then start training in January.

I don’t go out of my way to order olives, but I can stand the black ones on pizza and salad if it comes that way.

Reply

My biggest motivator for running is definitely how it makes me feel, and that it allows me time to spend with my friends that I wouldn’t otherwise have. I also like how it helps me manage my weight, especially now that I’m older.

BTW, I can’t stand olives of any kind, but my family loves them. They go on the antipasto platter for every holiday!

In case I don’t get a chance again, Merry Christmas to you and your family! :-)

Reply

yes, it does, it makes sense to me.

That guy of your is something.

Reply

I completely agree with how you feel after. I lost a lot of motivation for awhile but would remind myself how great I feel afterwards. Works like a charm every time. Great list!

Reply

I love your Star Wars shirt it is so cute! I am definitely not a mega fan but will try to get out to see it :)

Right now I am super motivated to run because I can. I had two basically back to back injuries this year and spent most of the year not running :( I have some goals for the new year and that is definitely helping me stay on track. I also love the people I run with and its practically my social life too – I never dread getting to spend time with them :)

And olives. Well I love them :) My favourites are actually ones in a jar with red wine vinegar (I think) from Costco and they are nice and sweet and do not taste like a tin can!

Love the blog by the way!
Off to find you on Instagram too :)

Some of the stories you’ve been telling about the new man make me think perhaps he’s a keeper! ;) It’s funny b/c I did the exact same thing when I started dating my current fiance. I have always been big into fitness & working out but NEVER running. His FB page talked about running so I thought he was really into it. As it turns out he hadn’t run all summer (we met in Aug.), & I’m the one who ended up falling in love w/ running. We’ve run together a few times, but he’s faster than me, & I’ve really come to love running just for me (& by myself! ha!). If I hadn’t been motivated to do it for him tho, initially, I don’t think I would have perservered.

P.S. You need to post of pic of this guy!

Reply

I’m totally with you on the “my day just goes right” side of things as a motivator for working out. I just really enjoying being productive and getting my sweat on! I wish I could meet some friends for more runs, but with the winter weather, it’s pretty much treadmill time for me. But, I have lots of TV shows to watch while I run, so I look forward to that too!
I can’t wait to see Star Wars! We still have to watch some of the older movies to get our kids up to speed, then we’re all going together.

Reply

I’m feeling super nosy, so apologies ahead of time! I love your pants, where did you get them?

I just have to ask too, how long have you and your boyfriend been together? I think it’s great that you have found someone who wants to learn about your interests, and I hope you share many happy runs together!

PS–I love olives! As a kid, I’d stick the black ones on my fingers like little puppets. :)

Reply

Where did you get your running shorts? Are the lululemon? If so which ones? Thanks!!

Reply

I wholeheartedly agree with you in terms of your biggest “other” motivators to run. For me, a lot of it comes down to knowing that I will feel so much better mentally and physically after a run – for me it really is the two for one benefit, and is probably why when I can’t run I’m not the most wonderful person to be around…although I’ve certainly been working on that and have found some other outlets. Running is still by far the BEST. That is a beautiful story and brought a smile to my face on this coldish rainy day up here :) Thanks again for sharing parts of yourself with us – so much fun to read and so much I’ve learned. Including the fact that there are other people in this world who hate olives :)

Reply

I just don’t feel like myself when I don’t run, so that is what makes it easy for me:) I do struggle with the early morning hours, especially in the winter, but I HATE running after work. Even when I have time, it is just never the same. I would rather go on a walk then!

Reply

Love black olives, but green olives are disgusting. What motivates me right now is getting rid of diabetes, alone time, knowing how much better I’ll feel when it’s over.

Reply

Olives = yuck

Reply

You nailed it when you said alone time is a motivator to run. But you did not nail it on your opinion on olives. Olives are the BEST. :)

Reply

I LOVE the honesty in sharing your motivation! I so agree with your #3! I’ve had to take a somewhat unplanned hiatus from running since I’ve been pregnant (rough 1st trimester and just lots of discomfort now that I’m carrying around all this extra weight) and even though I’ve been staying active with lots of walking, it still can be so frustrating thinking about the major uphill battle I will have trying to get “back” in my ideal running shape. BUT – it’s so worth it. :) I love how the motivation changes with seasons too, and I know that having a little one to keep myself healthy for will also be a beautiful reason for motivation too, even when chucking out a measly one mile feels intimidating.

Reply

I set it so that i would one race a month next year even if it was just a 5k all the way up to my first triathalon. That is helping motivate me to keep going. Also i want to look better in my clothes.

i like black olives but thats it.

Reply

My biggest motivator right now is not wanting to start over again when I start training for my next half. Starting over is the worst.

I saw Star Wars last night with my guy, and we’re going with some friends again tonight, because apparently once was not enough for him! I really enjoyed it, and the Star Wars freak did too ;)

I really like olives. Mostly black ones.

Reply

My main motivators for running every day are exactly the ones you listed: it makes me feel good, and it gives me much-needed alone time.

I am not a Star Wars fan… I think I’ve seen 2 out of the original 6 movies. So I have no plans of seeing Episode 7, unless some friends persuade me to go with them.

I hate those low-quality, sliced black olives you see in salad bars (like the ones on your salad there), but I can enjoy good, whole green or kalamata olives (I think those are two different kinds).

Reply

i.hate.olives :(
I saw star wars on Sunday. It was pretty good. I didn’t see any of the other movies so I have a lot of questions about who’s who. But apart from that it was good :)

Reply

Olives are gross but I craved them when I was pregnant with my second child. Hormones do weird things to you.
I’m not into Star Wars. I’m big on Star Trek. I Love Patrick Stewart.
I don’t know what my motivation is to run other than it’s fun. I don’t race but I would like to even though I’m not fast.

Reply

Motivation: My day starts at 3:30am and goes to 8:30….. running is the time where I have 40-60min to absolutely think of NOTHING and get ready for the day…. It is what keeps me sane in my insanely busy day! Also, helps that I am training for my first marathon…. hopefully, come March 2016, I will be able to say I ran 26.2!!!

I am a black olive LOVER!!! Not the green ones, but black!!! YUM!! Didn’t care for them until after I had my son 6 years ago, have no idea why…… strange how fast buds change.

I haven’t seen the Star Wars movie, but my 6 year old has…. and in his words, “It was TOTALLY AWESOME!” He wants me to go with him again….. LOL!! So, maybe soon I will have seen the movie…….

Love your blog, you motivate me everyday!

Reply

My running motivation right now is next year’s races. I pretty much am building all year for that fall marathon and it is crazy to think how far it is away yet that is the drive and determination to get me to complete all the components of my training plan each day. Plus I want to make my trainer and coach happy, I know that is a silly reason because I do run for me, but it does help to get me out the door on a run. I just keep thinking that if I work hard during the week that hour with the trainer won’t be as miserable, haha!
Umm I don’t know anything about Star Wars and I eat olives often.

Reply

Love reading your posts!!!! I normally read and don’t comment, but you asked about olives. I detest olives. My husband loves them. I just don’t understand how people like something that takes over the taste of a meal. Even if you pick them off you can still taste and tell they were there…yuck! I hope you guys have a Merry Christmas!

Reply

What keeps me motivated- I just remind myself that there is some safety in that discomfort and that a great adventure or lesson is out there!
And olives…I sadly really love them. You can send me the ones you don’t want! I’ll gladly donate my leftover chocolate covered bears :)

Reply

I love all olives lol …we haven’t seen the movie yet waiting for hubs to be on vacation. But I took my boys to see Pan in our cheap theater and it was good! Look forward to Star Wars!…your man must be smitten! The treadmill at his folks? I like him already!

Reply

I hate olives too, but that taco salad looks like it would’ve been worth it!

Reply

I always loved black olives as a kid — to eat and play with. Green olives were new to me when I got married, but I like them all now. My daughter is the same as you, though, and feels the same way about pickles.

He hasn’tbeen a cardio guy and started running just because you do? That’s great, but your dad better keep a sharp eye on him—from one dad to another ;-)

Reply

I love olives! Mostly just the regular green and black ones. Alone, in sandwiches, on crackers, in salads, on taco salads, in burritos… you get the picture ;)

Reply

We just saw Star Wars last night and all I can say is they should never have let Luca make 1-3, #7 is exactly what those movies should have been…AMAZING!

Also, if you need someone to pass your olives off on, I’ll take them!

I am so motivated to run but am really struggling with recovery – I’m building back up with running and strength training bits it’s leaving me feeling wrecked, wired and exhausted. I have had no period for 12 months so I think that’s taking a toll – does anyone recommend any good articles on improving recovery? I want to run my first marathon next year but I seriously don’t know if I’m physically up to it.

My biggest motivator right now is craving that alone time and doing something for ME. As a mom of two young ones and having a hubby out to sea, I take the time to run because it is one thing that I can do for myself and I feel so good afterwards.

Where are your moto leggings from? A boutique around here sells some like them but are sold out constantly. Love them!
