Silentish Saturday–> she’s home edition.

This just feels good again.

Before she got home I did 3 miles.  I’ll do my long run today instead of yesterday… I woke up feeling a little bit awful (my stomach is a lot better than it used to be but still not 100%).

The best part of the run was that it was 20 degrees and really windy.. that always feels great on the face;)

Once the afternoon hit we had a girls date.

Brooke wasn’t very excited about it or anything.

Color Me Mine for some good ol’ painting—>  she chose to paint a donut.  I was proud.

The only Black Friday shopping I did was for carbs.

Dinner with the familia.

Burger and salad.

Brooke went to bed at my parents’ and then I hit up the movies.  3 movies this week—>  total normal behavior for Thanksgiving break.

What a fun day! No Black Friday shopping for me either. Too crazy out there! Enjoy your long run. I’m off to the gym for spin.

3 movies this week? Awesome!!!

I watched part 1 of Mockingjay yesterday so we could go see part two today or tomorrow. I’m excited to see it! I don’t do Black Friday shopping either. All the things I need can be bought online where I can avoid the crowds and lines!

Today we are doing thanksgiving with my husbands family!

No Black Friday shopping for me! We opted outside for a snowy 7 mile hike. Enjoy your long run and have a great Saturday!

We decorated the house for Christmas yesterday and it was amazing! Now it’s about time to get ready for my long run. Hoping for a good one!

I saw Mockingjay twice this past week, and it was just as good the second time! Yesterday I hardly did any shopping. I went to see my favorite band in concert and it was incredible!

I worked 8-4 yesterday but I do all my shopping online anyways because I live in a small town. I was at the gym, did my 5.5 miles with 8 fartlek thrown in, got coffee at Casey’s and was home by 6:45am this morning. Now I’m hopping in the shower to get ready for another day at work :)

Black Friday shopping for carbs made me laugh :) I’m still sick and taking advantage of my husband being home to rest as much as possible and drink gross concoctions to attempt to help my throat!

Yesterday I just worked and ran 5K – nothing too special.

Tonight is my town’s Santa Claus Parade. Ours is in the evening so it is all colourful with Christmas lights- it is going to be cold, but it will be fun

Your lashes are amazing! I’m not local, but where do you get them done? Or do you know what kind they are?

Yesterday I worked then had my parents over for dinner – we had turkey soup made from Thanksgiving leftovers.

Today I work again, and will maybe head to the gym to do some light cycling/elliptical – still recovering from my first marathon on Sunday!

Glad to see the Brookers is back!

Decorating for Christmas today. We wanted to go to the hunger games yesterday too, but we couldn’t find a babysitter so we will probably go sometime next week or something.

I was just thinking this morning that I wanted to go to the local pottery place and paint something! Haven’t been there in several months and it’s always so fun.

Running 14 miles today and it snowed last night?! First run of the season with snow on the ground.

Fridays for me was leftovers and crappy television. It was wonderfully relaxing. :)

Heading out for a run soon and then my long run tomorrow- 16 miles! Only 3 months to go in marathon training! Seems like forever but I keep thinking of the prize (ideal!) of running a BQ. Looking forward to having lots of family over as well. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend with Brooke and family! :)

Um that view of the mountains behind Chik Fil A is stunning. I’d move to Utah just for views like that!

All I bought yesterday was groceries, because it was finally pay day and I was out of food haha. Did my long run in the morning (13.5 ahhhh) and then grad school apps the rest of the day.

And so glad little B is back and reunited!!! :)

So happy Brooke back and those mountains behind Chick Fil A!! I couldn’t imagine seeing that everywhere I go, it’s absolutely beautiful!

We met our cousins for breakfast on Friday and the guys split for golf and the girls for a tiny bit of shopping followed by a nap and a really good dinner.

Its cold here too! Got my run in and now drinking my warm coffee and relaxing a bit before we decorate for Christmas and go to lunch with my mom. I bet you’re so happy to have Brooke back home! Enjoy your day together!

Love seeing you and Brooke reuniting!

Don’t do Black Friday here either. Always hit up as many movies as I can, but this year I have my 6 year old grandson so I was limited to The Peanuts Movie. I wont get to see him again until at least Easter but probably summer, ( our long visit :) ) so it is all about time together. So thankful!

We get to bypass the black Friday stuff up in Canada, although there are a few places that are starting to jump on the bandwagon. :/

We saw Hunger Games Wednesday night after church. Those stupid mutts scared me half to death!

We did a bit of shopping Thursday evening and then a bit yesterday afternoon. It was icy here so there was no way I was going out in the morning. I went the few blocks to my office instead.

Today we are spending a lazy morning at home, baking this afternoon, and then heading to my parents house for our second Thanksgiving.

I avoided the stores as much as possible yesterday and watched football instead. Today we’re headed our to see friends and it’s gorgeous cold sunny weather again, it’s been awesome lately. If it was windy I would probably die.

I had to work at a hockey game last night, so my Friday wasn’t very exciting. It’s the last one until January though so I’ll have my Friday and Saturday nights back for awhile, which I’m excited about.

Reply

i also saw the 4th HG! I liked it, didn’t love. It’s like Pizza. Bad pizza is still better then no pizza, Bad Hunger Games is still better then no hunger games

It is snowing here in Wyoming so I was on the treadmill today! I really want to see the new Hunger Games but it has been too cold to leave the house for a movie :)

Reply

You mention in your post yesterday you walked on he treadmill because going to a Brookeles house is hard but then when she does come home you leaver her at your parents and go to the movies. This confuses me.

Reply

I put her to bed at my parents house so she was asleep the entire time I was gone to a late movie (she would be asleep whether or not I was at the movie). And yes, it is hard to go home during the day when she is normally there with me awake and playing. Make sure to read the full sentence about me putting her to bed and going to the movies before making assumptions! Thanks!

Ohh how was the Hunger Games movie?? Can’t wait to see it!

I’ve been working all weekend since I work in retail, but not minding it with the chilly weather on the east coast! If you have any tips on preventing skin dryness during the fall/winter, please let us know (I think you may have already addressed this before)! I’m struggling with this, especially when I run outside in the cold.

Reply

Asides from a light gym session and maybe a mile or two on the treadmill, I am looking forward to doing a whole lot of nothing today! ;)

Reply

Only shopping we did was for pastries at an amazing French bakery before our bike ride. Priorities. Enjoy your weekend!

Reply

Yay for Brooke being back! I have been wanting to see Hunger Games. Ross and I usually see it together Thankgiving Weekend every year, but replace the milk duds with chocolate covered cinnamon bears. Let’s see if we go tonight…or if we continue to do housework, run errands and do homework. Lame.

Aww Brooke is a so asorable! I am relaxing today since I have surgery tomorrow. Nothing major but still needed anesthesia.

Reply

I went to a movie alone yesterday for the first time ever. It was also the first time I left my daughter for that long to do something besides run errands since she was born in August. I’m not sure I loved Mocking Jay but it was still such a treat to be out!! Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend with Brooke!

Reply

No Black Friday shopping at the stores for me..but I did buy some stuff online! My family is in town and we have just been exploring and eating our way through the city. Nothing wrong with going to the movies..have a great rest of your weekend with Brooke!!

Reply

At home in Indiana with the family. Good food and good company. Went to see Hunger Games movie Thursday night! So good! You and Brooke are adorable – glad you are back together :)

Reply

Not much Black Friday shopping for me but we spent the night with Christmas lights!

Reply

We went and got Christmas trees up in the mountains today and then went to see The Good Dinosaur! We had a blast :) Glad to see Brooke is back and smiling so big!

Reply

Friday was my daughter’s 8th birthday! We mostly celebrated at home with her because we knew being out and about would just make us all crazy. She got spoiled and had a great time anyway. : )

Beyond that, I’m having a pretty lazy weekend – putting up some Christmas decorations, eating a lot of leftovers, and doing a few treadmill runs. Maybe tomorrow I’ll actually venture out of the house.

Have a great Sunday!

Spent Black Friday at Mall of America in Minneapolis with my kids and a few teenage cousins. The teens loved the shopping scene and my husband and I hit the indoor amusement park with our younger boys. They had sooooo much fun on the rides! The crowds were not too crazy either which was nice.

Reply

Love the bright color of your running jacket!

Friday I met up with some friends to track down a limited release beer whose annual vintage always comes out on Black Friday!

Reply

Friday we decorated for Christmas!!! I love pulling out all the boxes, getting all the decorations out and remembering past Christmases. i love running with a nice breeze on my face, i get super red faced really quickly so i am one of the few in the pro wind camp :)

What a fun day!
