5 miles this morning on the treadmill @ an 8:00 pace.   I went into the run thinking my legs were going to be pretty sore after Saturday’s race but they felt great!

Will somebody please remind me each morning to take off my necklace when I run because this is a daily occurrence.

IMG 0288

Met up with my mom and Brooke started her sprint towards her the second she saw her.

IMG 0303

Santa’s house is already up and ready to go.

IMG 0308

Came across this gum and it brought back 100s of memories of begging my mom for this gum at the store when I was a kid.  The thought of fruity gum PLUS temporary tattoos combined was just extra exciting to me as a kid.

IMG 0312

Met my sister for the salad that dreams are made of—>  a chicken green chile salad.  She had coupons which made them pretty cheap which made them taste even better.

IMG 0313

Rewind to last night—>  we had TACOS.  My niece requested tacos with hard shells for her birthday dinner.

IMG 4784

We did the present thing and Brooke is back to requesting to wear her Princess Sophia nightgown as much as possible.

IMG 4790

My niece is obsessed with chocolate and so my mom made her favorite Ghirardelli brownies (one of the best things to buy at Costco) and we topped it with ice cream.

IMG 4792

Somehow my nephew it kind of a big dealing and growing like crazy.  I don’t know how I feel about this.  When I started this blog he was just a lil’ guy.

IMG 4789

My other nephew is all ready for Movember.

IMG 0284

My friend had a calculator watch and I wore it.  Haven’t seen one of these in quite some time.

From my mom:

IMG 0286

Multi-tasking while filling up my mom’s car with gas on the way home from St. George after the race—>  stretching and froyo eating.

IMG 0260

I’m pretty sure I go through a pack of these a month.  How do hair ties disappear so fast??  My other two items that I lose constantly—>  socks (one sock of each pair somehow disappears) and bobbi pins.

I hope your week is off to a great start!

I’m running after work. I’m kinda excited for it! I’m running the Thunder Road (Charlotte, NC) marathon this weekend! I can’t believe its here already! Yikes!

I lose my hair ties all the time. I also lose my keys and cell phone alot. You’d think I’d know by now to set them in the same place, but no.

Fruit Stripe gum. I think I always wanted it as a kid but it was always terrible! It always lost its flavor after like 5 seconds and then got hard. Definitely reminds me of my childhood though! My husband and I bought Big League Chew not too long ago because we both loved it as kids. Um…it was better when I was a kid! It’s so sweet!

Hair ties are a mystery to me and with 2 daughters it’s that much worse! I blame them for losing them but they’d probably disappear either way.

I’m running this evening, which is the first time I’ve run so late in a long time but I wanted to spend the morning with my mom before she left town. I always lose bobby pins. When we moved I found so many while cleaning! Monday matters: I signed up for my second marathon and it’s on a net downhill course in the mountains near me!

Which one are you running?

The Jack & Jill Marathon in North Bend! They had closed registration for a bit, but reopened it this morning for a few more spots. It’s at the end of July and it’s supposed to be a fast and pretty course – they have a half as well!

Every surface of my apartment has a little black hair elastic left on it. Sometimes with a snag of my hair. I’m not proud

I ran 83 miles last week so I took this morning off – doing a hot yoga class tonight to stretch everything out….I have a quad that’s a bit tight.

I lose my MP3 player ALL.THE.TIME. It’s small and black…I’m never putting it in the same place twice so before every run, I panic about where it is.

I lose my keys all the time. Somehow, they are always getting away from me, and I hate it.

No run today, but I did a swim workout that destroyed me. I’m usually pretty mentally tough regarding workouts, but I lost it and kind of gave up on the last set. Oh well– next time, I’ll stay strong.

I have so many bobby pins that it’s ridiculous, and I lose them constantly! And I definitely remember that stripes gum–I used to love that stuff! :)

Monday matter: After work, I am having froyo with a girl I mentor. Love hanging out with her AND eating froyo, so it’s a perfect combo!

Just got back from my run and it was great! I ran on the course that all of my middle school and high school cross country meets were so it brought back tons of memories. I’m surprised I felt so good because I just got off my highest mileage week in months and went rock climbing this weekend. I’ll take it!

How do those hair ties even stay in your hair? I have to get the super grippy kind or they slide right out!

My run this morning was awesome! It was perfect fall weather and I just ran until I felt like it, and then I stopped when I was done. Perfect.

I’ve lost so many earrings. I only have the cheaper ones from Claire’s and Target for that reason! I’ve never had diamond earrings :) I usually knock the back off with my headphones or my ear band if it’s cold, and then they disappear!

It was a gym day for me. I’m super tired now from waking up so early. Ice cream or froyo sounds really good right now. (I’m expecting #3 so it must be the start of the cravings) or maybe it’s just because it’s always yummy

Slept through my run this morning fighting off a headache, hoping for a better one tomorrow!

I miss the striped gum too! Crazy that it is back!

Reply

Lip glosses! I have them all over the place. I lose them but they always seem to turn up again.

Awesome spin session today! Taking short break from running because my left foot is bothering me:(

I am always losing hair ties! I don’t understand it either. My run this morning was bleh until the last two miles but at least I finally found my groove!

I used to put those fruit stripe tattoos on my tongue – only lasts a second, but we thought it was hilarious.

I lose hair ties and pens constantly. I can never find a pen when I need one, and they’re all over the house.

My run today was pretty good. I’ve been taking my dog with me and trying to build up his mileage. He’s up to 3 miles now, and he absolutely loves it. It’s nice to run with him because I worry more about him than myself so it keeps me distracted while we’re running.

#1: cheaper always tastes better
#2: Ghirardelli brownies really are the best… and now I’m craving them… thanks. lol
#3: Hair ties and bobby pins were made to be lost. That’s the only explanation.

I always lose the little rubber pieces that attach to my earphones. You know the part u squish in the ear. So frustrating!!

Reply

Oh, me too! And I never know where to get spares! So annoying!

I am running after work today…only for about 20-25 minutes. I made myself take 2 weeks off after my last half-marathon, but I am also on exercise restriction right now because of a procedure I had last week. :/ But…I am stubborn and I want/need to see how my body reacts.

Also…the Ghiradelli chocolate brownies from Costco…BEST.THING.EVER!!!

One of my hair ties snapped the other day right off my head as I was driving but I didn’t panic because I just reached inside my purse for another one.

I changed into my running clothes after work, clocked out, and headed out on a run on new-to-me roads. I had never done that before! It felt great to drive home knowing my run was already done. And it was a strong run so that was a plus :)

Monday Matters: It’s a cold, rainy day in TN so I made a big pot of Sweet Potato and Cauliflower soup….so good!
I always lose my cellphone! I set it down and can never find it.
My legs felt tired and heavy this morning, but it’s to be expected one week after NY.

That gum was totally childhood!

I constantly loose chapsticks! i swear all the lost items are hanging out somewhere! Today it’s raining so I ran pretty fast, well pretty fast for me on the treadmill and it felt awesome! In the moment I was thinking not so much but afterwards it felt pretty awesome. I ran 5 miles this weekend with the stroller which is still kind of new to me. I was pretty sore yesterday so I’m really happy with how today turned out!

I want the salad…and the fro yo…and the baby…and the baby beard hat…and you. So yeah…I want it all…. (money cash cars diamond rings…. you know the song. ;)

No run on the schedule for today, but I will be doing some stretching and foam rolling later on.

I am constantly losing my ponytail holders too! But, I’m convinced they grow legs and walk off…

I’m about to head to Costco for our weekly trip, and now it will take all of my willpower to NOT buy those brownies. ;)

Reply

I lose pens like crazy and it’s always an issue at my job! I had a total rest day from running after my trail race yesterday so I just a sports massage!! It was the most amazing thing of all times!!

I’m glad you had a great Monday!

Oh yes … Fruit Stripe Gum … the five second gum.

I have this love affair with that gum, but I don’t know why? After five seconds of chewing it — there’s nothing to it. Bland as bland can be.

But, it reminds me of my childhood Christmases for sure.

I didn’t run today but I had some awesome runs last week and a great spin session yesterday and i’m looking forward to getting a run in tomorrow.

I am constantly losing bobby pins too! I take them all out in one place and I swear they scatter in the middle of the night. Now I’m drinking kombucha and hoping my stomach feels better for a run tomorrow, nothing like good ol’ food poisoning to get the week off to a great start!

Hooray for your niece–tacos that crunch are the best!

Reply

I lose hair ties too! Glad I’m not the only one :)

Reply

Sounds like a pretty good birthday dinner to me! And froyo is ALWAYS a good idea after a race :)

You have such beautiful eyes Janae! I don’t know why this is the first time I have noticed them in my four years of reading your blog! I think I am always sidetracked by your voluminous eyelashes which continue to impress me. Regardless, love your eyes!

Curly’s hair = gorgeous!!! Love that she got all dolled up for her birthday dinner. She also totally looks like Brooke in that picture. You could easily pass the two off as sisters and I am pretty sure you would have every person fooled. Both adorable miniature versions of their mothers!

I lose hairties and pens on a daily basis.
My fiancé was sick this morning so no running and I took care of him instead.

Reply

Wow! Your nephew is getting so grown up!

Fruit Stripes gum! So gross tasting but we used to love when my uncle brought it home for us.

I ran right before dinner, it felt tough even though it wasn’t a hard run.

I saw a recipe for a copy of Cafe Rio salad with sweet potatoes, it is on Super Healthy Kids. Thought of you. It looked yummy, we don’t have a cafe rio here.

Wait, you niece’s birthday is Nov. 8? My birthday is Nov. 8, and I had Ghiradelli brownies topped with vanilla ice cream as my birthday dessert! She must be a really cool kid! ?

Reply

Ghirardelli brownies being one of the best things to buy from Costco … heck yes! I would also love to know where your plaid shirt is from?! I love it!

Reply

I ran last night – and it was blustery and dark, but I loved it. It’s so autumnal with the leaves swirling round my feet. (Although on several occasions I almost screamed, thinking they were mice or similar).

NB: LOVE autumn running. Must remind self of this when running home from work tonight.

I’m always losing earrings and hair grips. It’s the most annoying thing! Although thankfully I don’t own any expensive earrings…

Reply

I feel your pain with your nephew being so big. I don’t have nephews, but my cousin, Jake, who is nine years younger than me was always a little brother. He’s a super tall Air Force guy and married now. Boy, do I feel old! :’-(

Reply

warm brownies and ice cream is what perfection looks like. love that saying from your mom, because for real texas humidity and my hair DO NOT mix.

Reply

We have 2 playful cats – and I KNOW that is where my bobby pins and hair ties are going!…under the rugs, under the furniture, in the water bowls, etc. If I want to keep them, I have to put them in the drawer! Ice cream and brownies…yummmm :)

Reply

I heard that the lint you remove from your dryer is the cremated remains of your missing socks. :)

Omg the baby beard hat is too cute!

Reply

I think you have answered this before but where is your shirt and booties from in the picture where you are stretching? I love the whole outfit!
