Hey. Have an awesome Saturday.

For my Friday run I decided to hit up a pretty awesome 3 mile loop—> the same loop that I used to do with my sister ALL of the time when I was a teenager.  It wasn’t as fun of a loop without her but it still had a lot of great memories and the snowy mountain backdrop was pretty great too.

It was crazy windy out so I made sure to wear a bunch of layers.  Kept it nice and relaxed because I’ve got a tough (but shorter than usual) long run to get in today!

From there we went straight to Costco with my mom for the goods.  The beauty of Costco… you can get everything there and my mom scored an awesome coat for the winter!  Isn’t she adorable?!

I’m just really thrilled that Costco has their 10 lb sweet potato bags back (it’s been forever since they had these it feels like).  Totally normal that one human being goes through this bag in ya know… a week.

Brooke and I had a random afternoon obviously.

And once it got dark we went to a big Christmas party at the outdoor shopping center.

IMG 1246

They had ice carving, s’mores stations, fireworks and a billion people.  IMG 1247

Dinner involved these heavenly rolls from Texas Roadhouse + a salad + bbq chicken/steak + baked potato.  I should be plenty fueled for today’s run.

We finished up the night with an absolute classic.  The best.

14 miles to get done this morning!  I hope your long run/run/workout/sleeping in/whatever your Saturday morning involves is a great one!!!  I’ll be wearing my socks of the month from Brooks.  Gobble.  Gobble.

What are your Saturday plans???

I am working this morning. Fortunately I am off at noon, so it isn’t too long of a day! Then I am planning to clean the house and start working on some things to prep for family coming in on Tuesday for Thanksgiving! It’s cold out today so I’m thinking it is the perfect day for baking! Have a great run!

Plans today are finishing the book I’m writing! It’s the second book I’ve written and I’m so excited to get it done and released! I’m also going to the gym for interval training and leg day then getting my Thanksgiving menu together to shop.

I love a Knights Tale! I’m running 13 with a friend here in a little bit, but I wish I was running in those mountains! Then I’m birthday shopping, grocery store, and making a fancy dinner for tonight. My ideal day!

Good luck on your 14-miler! I’m heading into Boston to go for a run with my mom along the Charles (distance TBD)! Have a great weekend :)

Those socks are amazing

I go through a ton of sweet potatoes in a week! And a ton of peanut butter too :) Long run done, ready for some weekend shopping and relaxing!

Texas road house and knight tale sounds like a perfect night. I was super lazy about dinner last night. I really wanted to go to Texas road house or joe Vera’s but the hubs said otherwise. So it was find it yourself night.

Plan for today are a Friendsgiving! I am hosting:) Got a great 5 miles in earlier…first weekend without a training team run. It’s a mix bag of feelings:) Have a great day!

LOVE those socks! Super cute!!

I’m headed to a craft show to stock up on some cute handmade Christmas decorations and then off to do 4 miles! Its raining here in AR this morning so I’m hoping it’ll clear off soon! Sweet potatoes are my favorite too!

Plans today are to go hiking and enjoy some of the snow! Hope you have a great run and a great Saturday!

Reply

Its snowing here a lot and is supposed to continue all day! I’m shopping with my sister and then grabbing dinner. Both our husbands are away hunting this weekend so we are taking advantage of “widows weekend”!

Have a good run!

I’ll be heading to the pool this morning for some laps since I can’t run for a little while. Fortunately my toe is NOT broken but it’s badly bruised/jammed so running is a no-go.

Friendsgiving #2 tonight so I’ll be baking some things up this afternoon! It’s a snowy, rainy, cold day in Chicago which is the perfect excuse to stay inside and eat cookies :)

Hope your run goes well!

I’ll be doing 13 miles today and then going and helping some family with yard work. :)

I love those socks!!! Have fun on your long run. I had surgery last week and can’t run yet… dedicate a mile to me, please :)

Well I JUST WENT FOR A RUN! I hadn’t run a single mile since crossing the finish line at the NYC Marathon 20 days ago. So this was really nice. And the fact that it was a short 3 miles with no purpose other than to get some fresh air and get the legs moving was perfect. I’m going over to my boyfriends this afternoon. We’ll probably take the dogs for a long walk and then do some outlet shopping. There’s an Asics outlet which I’m stoked about.
Happy 14!

I slept in this morning. The church down the block is having a Christmas fair and I want to go later on. It was a crazy week so we will just take this weekend as it comes. My husband went through his first week of chemo like a champ. I am praying that continues!

I love those turkey socks! My Saturday plans include relaxing around the house because I’m recovering from being sick this week.

Oh man… I saw A Knight’s Tale four times in the theater! (3 of them were alone because no one wanted to see it again with me). I was madly in love with Heath Ledger. Sad that he left us so early…

I’m taking an active rest day…a walk around town (it’s beautiful here in San Diego) and then off to watch some college football. Running my first 5K in ages tomorrow (I usually go for longer distances). Hoping for a PR! Have a great weekend! :)

Just finished a 6 miler in the first snowfall of the year. It was SO pretty! Getting homework done then heading out with friends later on. Can’t wait :)

You’ve got the Julia Roberts forehead vein too! Me too. I can’t lie, or it comes out. It always gives me away.

Arrgghhh…I have that vein too!! Every man I’ve ever met says it is super attractive!

I’m visiting my parents today. They only live half an hour away from me, but I still don’t seem to see them often enough. I love reading about your close relationship with your mom because my mom and I are also close. She’s my inspiration and the reason I run. Though she has been running off and on for the past 15 years, she became a more serious runner after being diagnosed and treated for breast cancer three years ago. I recently stumbled across a running blog that she has started called “runner50plus.” I was shocked because she hasn’t even told me she started it! Anyway, she has only posted a few things on there, but I was sad to see that she hasn’t received any comments yet. I’m tempted to post some anonymous comments on their for her but thought I could reach out to more people here and ask for some support! Any advice for a new blogger? Thanks!

Your mom is too cute! FYI – I just tried to post on her blog but it wouldn’t let me. My posting got blocked for some reason.

Jealous of your socks! I just bought a pair of compression socks that I should be getting today, but they’re not nearly as cool.

Just got done with 18 miles, and now I’m just getting ready for a Thanksgiving dinner for international students that I’m volunteering at this evening.

Currently reading your blog while waiting for a haircut.
Can’t wait for the wash and head massage.

Hope you had a great run! I got up early this morning, got warmed up to run a Turkey Trot 5k in the blowing snow and 30 degrees, and showed up for packet pick-up to find out it was cancelled. I was bummed! I was all ready for a pretty snowy run. But the goody bag had a long sleeve technical shirt in it so the $20 was worth it.

Reply

10 lbs of sweet potatoes? I’m right there with you! Kroger had then half off yesterday and I stocked up.. For the next week.

How are we not orange?;)

Reply

We got snow for the first time of the year so we are building snowmen and staying warm when we can! Costco is seriously the best!

I am recovering from my daughter’s 11th Birthday Party, followed by a sleepover with her two best friends. We are all sleep deprived, but the kids had a blast. #MomWin

I ran a fast 4.5 (7:15 pace) and am currently running errands to try and stay awake. Looking forward to an early bedtime followed by my rest day tomorrow!

I hope you had a great run!

Ha ha, I love those socks lol.. It’s great to revisit runs that you know so well. I ran a race during the summer which was on all the roads I trained on as a teenager, brought back loads of memories :)

Hit up the 40% off sale at old navy. Just went for a nice 3.5 mile walk w the hubster to catch up on the past week. Now I’m having a smoothie, doing some wash, and relaxing!

I’d love some tips for running in the wind! I’m such a wimp when it comes to the wind!

BUT I actually ran in the wind today… I did my first trail run! It was a cold and windy morning but I made it! Finished 4th female overall and I’ll definitely do more! Road racing is still preferred. :)

Reply

I needed those socks today!!! I ran a 5K Turkey Trot and it was my first “race” postpartum. Although I was nowhere near my pre-preggo speed, it still felt amazing to be out there!

The rest of the day is going to be a mix of chores, football, and hopefully a nap!

I slept in today (it’s COLD here in Minneapolis), stopped by a running store to talk about winter running clothing options, met a new blogger friend for lunch and talked for hours about blogging and life, went to the grocery store, made a sweet potato skillet recipe for the blog (it’s the month of sweet potatoes over at RunEatSnap.com so you should check it out for some yummy/easy recipes!), did some laundry, catching up on TV shows… such an exciting life I lead.

I love that socks and all of your pics, plus also if I hate running ( I’ve tried but ic an do well only nordic walking/trekking) I admire you and your constance on running!!!

Oh man, now I need to watch Knight’s Tale again!

My Saturday was busy! I had a great trail run with friends, took a CPR class and went to a semi-fancy dinner party with wayyyyy too much food. It was the most social I’ve been in months. :)
