I need to take more pictures of my daily life, I’ve been slacking lately! Today’s a rest day and filled with low key fun with my kids. Gorgeous weather! Half marathon tomorrow.

Saturday plans – work, nap, go visit our new house where they are currently pouring the concrete floors (!), go visit my grandpa with my mom. Pretty relaxing day! Long run tomorrow!

Today I’m getting a pedicure, working out and grocery shopping then saying good-bye to my Mom as she leaves for WI today.

Saving my long run for tomorrow since I have a little head cold.

Today I’m going to spend some time getting some blog work done and probably do a lot of resting because I’m getting over a cold!

Today I’m running 10 miles, hiking, and then celebrating our wedding anniversary with my husband. Hope you have a wonderful Saturday!

Starting off slowly. After a night of knee pain, I DeciDed not to run, at least not when my alarm goes at 5:45. Bummer. Saturday is my only day for a longer run. Just a catch – up day today. Looking forward to birthday picnic tomorrow – complete with Indian food — to celebrate my husband’s birthday!

Heading out now to swim a mile then pool run! Finally working up to running again after 2 hip surgeries!

Long run accomplished! Rest of the day consists of hanging with my son, out for lunch, shopping and out for dinner :)

I’ve got a 5 mile pace run, and some general cleaning up the house to do. Turns out if you ignore the dishes for several days they just keep sitting in the sink! Boo.

Reply

Watching some nephews, catching up on blog stuff, and hopefully a three mile run somewhere in there.

Running 8 miles, and working a bit from home.
Have a great Saturday!

Had a failed attempt at a 20 mile run this AM since I’m dealing with some pretty bad posterior tibial tendonitis and have the Chicago Marathon in a few weeks :( Any tips are greatly appreciated!!

Reply

OH NO!!!! I am truly so so sorry Hayley about your tendonitis. That breaks my heart. How many other long runs have you done? I would take time off and go have it looked at. I have never had tendonitis… sorry I am not much help. I completely understand how frustrating this is though. Please keep me updated!

Reply

That injury is usually from the muscle/tendon over-compensating because the shoes are not supportive enough. Try some stability shoes (or shoes that are more supportive than you are currently using) and it should clear up pretty quickly. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that, Hayley! Have you tried getting a massage and/or going to see a chiropractor? If you live in Chicago (I do!) … I suggest making a massage appointment at Urban Wellness and ask for Megan Mackie. She’s a PT and fixes me every time I screw my body up. I’ve also gone to see a chiropractor (http://www.chicagochirosports.com/) and the docs there are awesome and can pretty much do magic.

Good luck!!

Thank you everyone!! I’ve got in most of my long runs– 3-4 12/14 milers, 3 16 milers, 2 18 milers, and a 20 miler. I decided to switch to Brooks Pure Flows after a half last spring ( I was running in Mizuno Wave Riders prior) and thats definitely what caused it. I’ve been in PT/getting deep tissue for the past two weeks and am trying acupuncture this week. Had x-rays done and ruled out a stress fracture (thank god). Thinking of taking a week off now and crossing my fingers I can still run but this is SO awful!!

Reply

I ended up running a 23 miler this morning…woohoo!!!!
Now it’s time for an ice bath and some down time with my husband!!

Reply

I ran 16 miles today, then had a coaching session with a client. Now its time to relax for the rest of the weekend! Have a great Saturday!

Reply

Looks like a pretty great Friday! Hope you have an awesome weekend!

22 miles done and resting up before a friend’s wedding tonight!

Saturday plans? work, lunch with husband and BIL, visit a friend who has been dealing with heart issues, errands, relaxing with the hubs, baking, and a looooong walk. Great day!

4 miles today and down time with my family!! Enjoying this incredible weather! Have a wonderful day :)

Reply

I ran 17 miles with friends. Then bought a ton of food at Trader Joes and almost ate it all too :)

20 miles this morning followed by a looong nap. I did some house cleaning that I neglected this week. Next up we’re going to church, ordering pizza, and watching the Tennessee game. Go Vols!

Top of Utah marathon. I was on par to BQ through mile 18 and everything went haywire after that. I bawled when the pacer for my BQ time passed me- I tried to hang on but couldn’t. I’m still trying to be happy with my race PR and finishing, but there’s a gray cloud hanging over my head.

I promoted Orangetheory Fitness at the Tater Dash today after I ran with my running group. Now it’s time for football and homemade pizza!

I always try to guess what your picture captions should be. :) Nothing big for me today. I work later tonight so I have been sleeping all day. Oh the life of a night ahifter. :)

We did our last long run (23 miles), in the middle of Southern California’s heat wave, before our first marathon. The last two miles were hot and tough, but it is amazing what a sense of accomplishment you have when you do something you thought you would never be able to. It wasn’t that long ago 13.1 seemed like a long run! Thanks Janae for all the great running tips and motivation. I still can’t believe how fast you can run.

Saturday plans: working UC. It was a rough day with some rough and sad cases. Now I’m home and just put my little one down and now I’m just going to decompress…

Reply

Church this morning, lunch with the in-laws and a quick walk this evening. It was a very restful day :)

Reply

Saturday was uneventful mostly. We watched cycling time trials and rang bear bells to cheer on the riders then went for a run. I did my first marathon last weekend so I’m just getting back to it. Tomorrow will be more exciting. We’ll be driving to Red Lodge so I can get a “long” run (10 doesn’t seem long after a marathon though).

Reply

I went to breakfast with friends, worked at my running store, got home and showered, cleaned, and am currently doing laundry. so basically, i’m the coolest. hahaha

Reply

I love the doughnut pillow!
