I definitely am an early riser and early crasher like you. I used to be the exact opposite but the running fast lane change that part of my life. It also changed many other parts of me.

The good news is I was up with the sun to run my longest distance outside (6 miles) since my recent injury!
Good luck on your 20 miler!!

I am early to bed no matter what. Once it hits 9 and I’m in bed or on the couch, my eyes cannot stay open! This is why I don’t watch a lot of movies;)
Currently reading Lord of the Rings for one of my fall courses, ahhhhh!
Hope your 20 miles goes well!

It’s my birthday! Last year I was about 6 weeks post partum and pretty heavy in anxiety and the wacky hormones. I’m looking forward to a much more fun birthday with my growing family. Enjoy your run! I miss running!

Night and morning work great for me as long as I’ve gotten enough sleep and I’m healthy.

Some Saturday’s I have no idea what they entail, I know I’m running today, I know my husband is helping people move, but other than that we are just going with it.

Just got my 18 done so I’m relieved and in a good mood! Now off to celebrate my dad’s birthday :)

I just got my 10 miler in. Now it’s time to clean the house. Will head over to the boyfriends for dinner and then tomorrow we will have a Sunday fun day with our dogs and probably do some grocery shopping and cooking in the eve. :)

Reply

I wish I had gotten to bed earlier. I’m exhausted today! My plans today are just working and then going home and relaxing…nothing too exciting!

I did an 11 miler today, longest run since my injury. One the hills was killer but I pumped those arms and nailed it. We have a party at a friend of my husband’s house later. I will only know my husband, weird.

I am not a huge night owl, more of an early bird.

I am reading the Double Fudge Brownie Murder and the recipes included have me craving chocolate. (Beach read)

Reply

WAY TO GO NINA!!! Yay for an awesome post-injury comeback long run.. pumping the arms helps so much! Enjoy the party!

Reply

Long run was “only” 10 miles but 3 at tempo. Those HURT! But I nailed ’em! I thought of you and moved my arms faster when my legs wanted to slowed down ;)

Total early bird here! I woke up at 4:30 without an alarm today. It’s now 8:30 and I need a nap.

20 miles done and looking forward to wine night with my girlfriends tonight! Gotta love a good gossip session :)

Reply

We did 16 miles this morning and I am already ready to crash for the day :) When I’m marathon training, I always crash early. I’m a night owl in the off season though.

Saturday plans are to continue unpacking our house and start sorting through wedding pictures!

Reply

I used to crash really early but now I can’t ever get to sleep! I’m usually tossing and turning in bed till 2 in the morning, it’s the worst and makes me very crabby the next day ;) Brooke’s dress is absolutely adorable!! Good luck on your long run today :)

Reply

I’d love for it to be the opposite, but I usually go to bed late and wake up late.

I’m currently reading Higdon’s Marathon, and on the treadmill I am reading Heart and Sole (on Oyster).

Reply

I LOVE kodiak pancakes, YUM!

I am your blog family’s black sheep because I’m SUCH a terrible night owl, my mom and grandma are too so maybe it is an inheritable trait? So often I’ve tried to alter it but my natural body rhythm is so stubborn!

Brooke’s cousin is a beautiful, strong and fit girl! I hope your 20 miler went well!

Reply

I definitely go to bed early and wake up early. Today I had a 10k race and then took a glorious nap!

Reply

I definitely prefer going to bed early and waking up early ! I really need to get myself into a good book again, it’s been way too long.

Reply

Saturday saw very gentle 4 mile run due to a bout of gastroenteritis earlier in the week :( followed by some jobs on the house (ie. removing from the gutters all of the leaves from last Fall in order to make room for the ones from this Fall!).
Surprisingly enough though, I really enjoyed both; the slow run because it reminded me exactly how just getting out and running is such a wonderful feeling, and the second because it was something my dad and I did together so we could laugh at each other when we ended up covered in horrid black slime!

Reply

I had an 8 mile pace run, made s’mores, and am going to eat some awesome grilled pizza for dinner!

I crash pretty early most of the time.

I’m reading Hal Higdon’s Marathon right now – I’m between novels. I recently read Promise Not to Tell and The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon – really good!

Reply

I’m reading “Burnt Toast Makes You Sing Good,” and it’s one of the best memoirs I’ve read in a long time- so entertaining.

Reply

I’m reading “A million Suns” it’s the sequel to ‘Across the Universe’ by Beth Revis.

I’m being super lazy today after the long run! Feels good!

Reply

I did 20 today too! My longest long run ever :) but I did the first 7 miles on the treadmill since it was way early and still dark. Then I got outside once I could see, and finished up with 13 more miles. That still counts as 20, right? I’m counting it :)

Reply

Mind Gym…go get it. I rocked 32 miles this weekend. How was your 20? ??

I love that Brooke has her cousins so close, must be a wonderful bond they all share!
