10 Things From Our Day.

1.  We spent some time at the pool.  We are trying to get in as many pool days as possible before it closes…

2.  My mom brought me a bag of my favorite peaches (from Allred Farms—>  Utah people… please try these).  I’ve already eaten 4.

3.  I ran on the treadmill for the first time in a very long time.  3 miles @ 8:34 pace.  I was bored.  Addicted to running outside now.

4.  Decorated my arms and apartment with stickers from Brooke’s sticker book.

5.  Looks like I’ll be making roughly 20 loaves of zucchini bread today.

6.  Can’t stop.  Won’t stop.  Our love for Japanese restaurants.

7.  I was wearing heels for our date but they were hurting and we were up in Salt Lake City.   Found THESE shoes and fell in love with them.  Much more comfortable.  I don’t know why I ever try to wear heels.

8.  Rented some bikes to tour downtown SLC.  Two hours of riding and laughing—>  a great time.

9.  Caught some air (I swear I got both tires off of the ground) on the bike.  Picture taken right after I caught air.

10.  Found the best peach gelato on the planet.  We will probably crave this gelato and make the 40 minute drive to purchase it often.

I have run several 20 milers on the treadmill. I think 22 is the longest I’ve gone.

I don’t know if I can pick a favorite gelato favorite. I think I’ll steal a line from my 100 year old grandpa and say that I like them all!

What a fun date! I can’t do heels anymore either but I still end up trying (and failing) to wear them!

The treadmill is the WORST! Especially since mine is in our hot stinky garage where we keep our garbage cans. I use it as a way to build up mental strength. Lots of it.

I want that sticker book! So fun!

Chocolate is the my favorite flavor, only when it is made with milk and real chocolate. Most gelato places tend to make with water and cocoa powder, which makes me so mad. It is outrageous to mess up with the best flavor in the universe!!!!!

During summer 4 miles seems to be my treadmill limit.
Rounded out our road trip last night. Dinner at a different college friends every night. It was a nice Midwest tour. Cheers to good friendship.

5 miles is my treadmill limit! Yesterday i ran 16 for my long run and then went to a baby shower! I love the giraffe swim suit,so cute!

I got a new car yesterday!! Bright yellow VW Bug = car happiness.

I can do the treadmill for almost an hour as long as I’m doing short intervals or using the Zombies Run app. It’s all about the distractions.

10 miles on the treadmill is my limit! It’s definitely good for developing mental toughness. Dark chocolate is definitely my favorite gelato flavor, although I know I had some really amazing ones in Europe but can’t remember the specific flavors.

We’ve been eating as many peaches as possible lately. There is nothing like fresh peaches.

I haven’t run on the treadmill in quite some time now. I tend to run on it in pouring rain or if it’s too cold but honestly we haven’t had too much of that lately.

Marathon in the morning and then it was cultural night here in Reykjavik so lots going on and fireworks!
Ran on the treadmill last week as it was just too hot/humid in Montreal to run outside in the afternoon. I think the longest i’ve run on a treadmill is 25kms….I don’t know if i could handle much more.
Favourite Gelato flavour is probably coconut.

I had to ditch heels a while ago when I was recovering from a knee injury, and now that I’ve known the comfort of tennis shoes for almost a year now…. not sure I’ll ever be going back! Japanese restaurants are addictive. I especially love their ginger dressing!

12 miles is the longest I have run on the treadmill. I watched the Birdcage to distract me.

I ran 9 miles, hit the Farmers Market, made dinner with spoils from the market (Black Sea bass, zucchini and salad -so fresh and delicious) and then went to see my cousins band play. I was tired but the hubby wanted to go, it was fun.

Heels are fun for a little bit, but flats do me much better when it comes to lots of walking! Heels end up always coming off anyways…so then I’m barefoot!

Yesterday was filled with being guinea pigs for the WODs our gym is doing for its first competition, a coffee date and seeing a local blacksmith/jeweler (oh my, I am in love), and then just relaxing lots at home! Also watched The Duff and LOVED it.

I ditched heels a few years ago and haven’t looked back! I used to think they were the only nice kind of dress up shoes, but I was wrong, haha. When I did wear heels though I would keep a pair of ballet flats in my purse so I could change whenever necessary (which was usually about 30 minutes after I put the heels on!)

I’ve been spending way too much time on the treadmill this summer! I am already counting down the days until it cools down a little bit because I know that will motivate me to get back outside!

My daughter and I achieved our goal of a relaxing Saturday. We did
a Target run and that’s about it. She also went for a walk with my parent’s
while I relaxed ? my favorite Gelato flavor is Coconut. So
good!

I ran long on the treadmill the other day but I much prefer outside. Still, I don’t hate the treadmill like I once did. I think it’s all mental so I just try to stay in the moment and not think of how many miles I have to go.

The peaches have been so good this summer!
Yesterday: awesome long run and then we celebrated my grandparents 65th anniversary!
Treadmill: 8 miles this morning. I max out around 15 miles before I go crazy.
Gelato: coffee flavored!

Have you tried Zoodles yet? We have switched over to making them all the time in place of pasta (hubby is on a low carb diet). I’m going to be very sad when the zucchini crop dwindles down.

I don’t think I have run on a treadmill since January. I try to avoid it whenever possible, and now I don’t even have access to one so its not even an option! I get bored after about 3 minutes.
Yesterday was a very lazy day after finishing my long run in the morning!

Reply

I ran four miles with my pops (my original inspiration to start running! He’s the coolest.), had yummy brunch with my parents, went to work and had tacos while watching football! It was a good day.

The last time I ran on a TM was about a week and a half ago. It takes me all of 30 seconds to get bored! I LOVE running outside. I don’t know how y’all run on the treadmill for so long!

Hmm..probably something with chocolate or peanut butter in the title. Probably both ;)

Reply

I ran 14 miles yesterday and that was pretty much it!

I think it’s been about 2 1/2 years since I ran on a treadmill. Thankfully I live in So Cal, no treadmill required :)

Favorite gelato = Stracciatella.

Reply

I have done 12 miles on the dreadmill, but I am bored within the first minute. I am super slow, so it takes me hours to complete 12 miles.

I love gelato. A local grocery chain sells it for $1.25 for a mini. I love that you can rent bikes, those look like awesome bikes.

I can’t wait to hear more about your fella. ;)

Reply

I ran 20 on a treadmill before but I had lots of good movies on and my sisters there to keep me company. I ran on the treadmill yesterday and didn’t make it very far. Bored and slippery shoes (I guess I already need some new ones).

I really want to try that date night out, where did you rent the bikes?

Reply

loooong hilly hilly run followed by an ice bath and work for 6 hours! but then relaxing and sleeping.

i dont mind treadmills, but i dont have one or a gym membership. plus, i live in socal which means its definitely possible to run outside every day, all year. not bad.

really any gelato flavor. im open. im an equal opportunity dessertist.

Yesterday- running rest day! I went shopping with my 7 year old daughter and did some baking. 16 mile run this morning!

Treadmill- 5 miles at the most. So so so boring!
Gelato- Never tried it! I’m pretty sure I’m missing out on something though! ?

Yesterday I went to the AC/DC concert in Boston and it was unbelievable!!

It has probably been 3 months since I last ran on a treadmill. The longest run I ever did on it was 10 miles.

Favorite gelato flavor: tiramisu!

Reply

I am the opposite- I love the treadmill (20 miles is my longest run) and I have never tried gelato!

We are on vacation, so my Saturday was spent in the car. But all my runs this week will be outside!

Reply

I run the treadmill a lot since I travel for work in places that really aren’t the safest for running outside. I can only last 1 episode of glee before I get bored :)

Reply

Hate the treadmill and brave the elements instead! Last treadmill run was over a decade ago and I don’t miss it one bit!

Discovered gelato shop in town this spring and only regret not finding it sooner! Try something new everytime I go but blueberry is definitely the best so far!!

First run yesterday since battling plantar fasciitis and posterior tibial tendon was inflamed. Felt wonderful even though short and sweet. Pain free today!

Reply

Okay. Now that you are using the WE pronoun, it might be time to introduce the new guy ;)

Reply

Nice! Looks like a super fun day!

I’ve got 10 miles on the treadmill today because I’m crazy and set my alarm to PM and now it’s too hot. Hopefully I don’t get too bored!

Reply

I had to run on the treadmill a lot this past week-rain one day and too humid and hot the others. As long as I get “my treadmill” at the gym and there is something on the tv I don’t mind the treadmill. The longest I’ve run on one is about 5 miles. I’ll play with the speed or incline if I start to get bored.

Reply

Not yesterday but the day before, it SNOWED here!

The longest I’ve ever run on a treadmill was 5 hours. ( I was training for a marathon through the winter and had 2 little kids.)

Spectacular land after your air-time!

Reply

I stay away from the treadmill like it’s the plague. Only unless I absolutely will I do it. My doctor says its not great for my feet either.

What will you do in the winter? Go back to the treadmill or brave the roads?

Reply

It’s not quite cool enough for me to get back outside to run again. Once fall is back I will be all over it. Right now I am still logging miles on the treadmill. Now I need some peach gelato.

Janae – this is going to sound so nosy but I have to ask, will your readers meet the guy soon? He sounds terrific and you seem happy with him. I’ve been a reader since your stress fractures kept you from boston, I had my own at the time and have read since! Sorry if it’s crossing a line to ask, but I’m curious!

I have a serious problem with running on the treadmill. It is just extremely hard for me. I know that sounds strange, but I last about 3-4 minutes and the whole time I am just dying. Not bored, just miserable. I had to log some miles on it last year while on vacation during marathon training. The TV definitely helped, but 4 miles felt like 26. I realized I’d rather run in 20 below zero weather than run on the treadmill. Ha ha! :)
Today was day 2 of me running on the track!! 1 mile and it felt really good. It’s soooo amazing to be running again.
Gelato – any flavor! I LOVE gelato!! :)

Reply

No way. The pool closes after summer where you live?

Reply

Umm where did you get that gelto?! It looks beyond incredible. I just moved to Salt Lake so this is very good news for me :)

Reply

It was from Capo!! Seriously… amazing. You have to go! YAY for coming to SLC:)

Reply

What a fun date!! So happy for you!

My max on a treadmill is 6 miles, although anything more than one mile is a mental battle for me on that thing. I need the outdoors.

I’m like y’all–I am soaking up as many pool days as I can while I still can! Today was definitely one of them. :)

Had a wedding planning filled weekend! Finally found my dream wedding shoes which made me happy.

I have been forced onto the treadmill this winter and it is tough I last about 45-60 minutes. I find the treadmill very hard on my feet and I much prefer to pace myself naturally on road.

Fave gelati – tiramisu or coffee yum xx

Reply

Is that gelato from Capo? That’s the BEST in SLC that I’ve found. For any flavor.

Reply

IT IS. Seriously… beyond crazy!

Well yesterday was my last full day in Jamaica. Needless to say it was magical. I ran on the treadmill at the fitness center at my resort yesterday morning. Just 2 miles.

Number six where in the world is that food from that looks phenomenal!

I love zuchini bread, especially pineapple zuchini bread. When my son was little he used to ask me to bake him “bikini bread”.
Treadmills are a necessary evil here in Canada during the rough parts of winter. BORING!!!

My long run is on Monday this week as I just flew home from France on Saturday. I packed all my running gear except a running bra, so I’m chomping at the bit right now. ( :

Reply

Another Canadian here – the treadmill got me through last winter, and I just did my first long treadmill run in a while, on the weekend. It was good! It counts in kilometres, so they add up fast ;)

Those peaches look delicious – as does that gelato!!

I promise I’m *asking* and not(!) judging – does the bike place rent out helmets? I ask because where I live, it’s illegal to be on a bike without one (obviously it’s not illegal in Utah – I know you’re wild and crazy but you’re no lawbreaker! ;) ) I can’t imagine accidents are super common just cruising around on a bike tour, but I would hate for you to hurt your noggin!

Have an awesome Monday!

-Yesterday: I worked all weekend, but got in a 5 mile run before heading into work Sunday.
-Last time on the TM was last Tuesday, an easy 3 miles. I have my run scheduled (I schedule stuff, ie write it on paper which makes me feel like I am following a plan so I actually get my rear end in gear) tomorrow on the TM, 5 miles. It’s still dark out past 6:00am here, so I think I’ll be seeing more and more of the TM. I also split my runs, Wednesday I’ll run 4 on the TM and 3 outside.
-The only gelato I’ve ever had was mixed berries: strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. It was amazing!

What a fun date!

I have a hard time doing more than 3 miles on the treadmill………….I own one but prefer 95 degree weather or a downpour outside anyday…

Reply

I did 24 once, when it was icy and terribly slippery outside here one cold spring. It was pretty rough! I watched a movie on my iPad to help pass the time. :)
