Just some sights from today…

I started off today with 7 miles on the treadmill and then it was off to do the school pick-up thing!

We are taking over for my sis today because of her back pain so I just have a few pictures to share with you before we set off on our next adventure….

This scene just made me smile.

Chicken nuggets + green peppers + strawberries bring a smile to Brooke’s face.

IMG 1283

Using my Boston cup while eating my normal sweet potato lunch in my robe with a towel on my head.   I showered a full 4 hours earlier than normal today.

IMG 0698

Our favorite popcorn.  My niece and I pound this stuff when we get together.

IMG 0701

This guy at Costco balanced this watermelon on his head the entire time we were there without ever using his hands.  He just went about doing his job while balancing a watermelon up there.  I am still amazed.

IMG 0703

The absolute best flowers there are.

IMG 0704

Walking her to her after school activity!

I tried to convince them that we should go on a picnic but they had other ideas… They win.

And now we get our game on.

Awe hopefully your sister feels better. It looks like it was a pretty great day though.

Those flowers are gorgeous btw. I love the elegance of them.

I never did this many activities when my kids were little. You are a great mom to keep your munchkin and “extras” so busy. What amazing memories they will all have.

Looks like a perfect day! My day ended w/ a massage so I am pretty much enjoying the bliss.

Prayers for your sister’s speedy recovery!

Thank you Susan! I am so glad you had a massage… those are the best!

I am visiting your beautiful state this week. We started out in Salt Lake City. We have been doing some fun hikes in the south part of the state. Last night we were in Monument Valley and today we are in Moab. Can’t wait to visit Canyonland and Arches tomorrow! It is all just so amazing!

Reply

AHHH YOU ARE!?!? That makes me so happy! I hope you are enjoying every second. I might be biased but I think Utah is pretty much one of the prettiest places ever;)

Reply

I was shocked the first time I drove across Utah. I didn’t know how beautiful it would be. I would love to go back some day.

Busy! And I agree about that popcorn- I can’t buy it because I eat it all!

Good sister alert! That little baby is so stinkin cute oh my gosh I just want all the baby cuddles.

Well I came home to a tick crawling on my carpet. We took the dogs for a walk at the beach on Sunday and the little buggers jumped on my sweet dog. I pulled two off Sunday, found one on my bed this morning and now the one on the carpet. I’m so grossed out. But at least the medicine is working and non have feasted on him.

It’s so sweet of you to help out!
Tuesday sights:
Track
Starbucks
Trails during runch
Whole foods

That sounds like a pretty close to perfect day to me…definitely perfect if that Starbucks was in Barnes & Noble!

Reply

That’s the perfect combination!

Is the surgery your sister is having on her back optional or does she have to have it? A friend of mine has 2 hyrniated discs and one of them is in a dangerous spot. She can have surgery but it is risky and she is trying to decide. She is in a lot of pain pretty much daily :(. Praying for your sister

I saw two phys Ed classes coming straight for me on our local running path today – I had to pick up the speed and not look like I was dying – lol

Reply

Aww, best auntie ever. <3 I have two sisters that I would seriously die without. They're my everything. Katie and I took Callum swimming today and Callum met another baby his age, a little girl, who kept pulling at his swim shirt and shouting, "BOOBIES!" And I was like, sorry to disappoint you little one, but there are no boobies there. :(

Reply

We saw that guy balancing a watermelon on his head while WE were at Costco yesterday! Craaaazzzyy!

Reply

We should go back together and get his autograph. And some gelato. And pizza while we’re at it.

Reply

That’s pretty amazing he can balance a watermelon period, but to move around at all is even more crazy. I wonder how many watermelons were smashed while he figured out how to do it.

Sights today: running outside with my favorite running buddy. Work. Lunch with a girlfriend and her twin girls! Work. Treadmill. Kitchen. Computer. Bed. Well, not quite bed yet!

You are such an awesome aunt. My sights include my amazing little 11 month old, Lowe’s, Panera for free coffee, my local park and currently a VERY clean floor, since I got a random urge to clean at 1030 at night. that’s normal, right?

Reply

That’s some impressive watermelon skills!

I didn’t see much in the pool this morning, they are having issues and it’s really cloudy but we are assured not dangerous. I hope they are right cause I drank a lot of it this morning.

After swim I saw the backs of my eyelids until it was time for crossfit. My day off is pretty much exercise, eat, sleep, repeat. Love it :)

Reply

Working from home today, so not too many sights… just my dog looking at me to take her outside… even after we come inside from a walk.

p.s. Curly’s face looking at Brooke cheesin is hilarious!

Reply

I saw the banana and nutella crepe that I had for dessert. That was definitely one of the best things I saw all day.

Sending thoughts and prayers for your sister. Your sister and nieces and nephew sure are lucky to have you :) Have a great evening Janae!

You’re a super cool auntie. Your sister’s baby has gotten so big already! I love that you have a great relationship with your nieces and nephews. That’s pretty special.

What did I see today? I was standing on this small hill that was hidden from the road just listening to the wind rush, the frogs ‘ribbit’, and thinking of how peaceful God’s creation is.

Reply

That’s too funny! I also went to a “fun center” type place.

Some sights from today…?

I saw race car video games, air hockey, and skee ball

And, a ton of scary lightning.

Tuesday sights:

– a lot of cute kids and pics in your post (I adore the side eye Curly’s giving Brooke).

– a beautiful morning along my normal 6 mile run route. I couldn’t figure out why I felt so good on the first half. Turned around to head back and was hit with an amazing head wind.

– Boxes and boxes of shoes

– My momma and my son’s baseball game in the furthest outreaches of our league. aka “the boonies”

– came home to my youngest creating grisly special effects on his older sister. (It looked like she’d caught her hand in an industrial accident — including exposed “bones”)

You have to try the Popcornopolis popcorn from Costco…it is popped in coconut oil and it is divine! They have 3 flavors, but the plain with salt is my favorite.

Reply

I guess I am going back to Costco tomorrow… THANK YOU!

I lived in west Africa for a few years and pretty much everyone would transport goods on their head. I think the craziest thing I ever saw was someone balancing a bathtub, although he did use one hand to help support it. Still totally impressive. Their back and neck strength was incredible.

Reply

A BATHTUB!?!?!? WHAT???????

Reply

Those are great sights! Was the guy balancing the watermelon on his head for any special reason? That is so random!! haha

Reply

The picture of the guy balancing a watermelon on his head reminded me of when I was in Jamaica and the servers at a restaurant balanced 50+ stacked plastic glasses on their heads as they went about their duties!

Sights from today – I really love seeing the green grass starting to grow and the little itty bitty leaves on the trees!

Reply

Wow, the guy with the watermelon is impressive! How do you even figure out you can do that? Practice in private until one day you’re ready to do it in public? Or just publicly smash a load of watermelons until you improve?

My sights – it is actually sunny in London! Lovely to run down by the river :)

Reply

I love the look on Curly face in the pic you took of them with their nuggets. I hope your sis feels better soon

Reply

Said a little prayer for your sister, I hope everything goes as planned and she recovers quickly! She’s lucky to have you to take care of those sweet kiddos.

So far my sights are my dog laying on top of me while I watch the morning news… I’m still in bed :)

Reply

Thinking of your sister and hoping her surgery goes well! You’re winning the sister of the year award for taking such good care of her kids. Hydrangeas are my absolute favorite flower as well!

Reply

Shoot! Back pain is horrible….I feel so bad for your sis!! Glad she has you~ your mom/dad~ and a great hubby there to help her out.

Reply

Love Costco! The watermelon talent is amazing. My recent “love” is Smart Pop I buy the huge bags at Costco and am so happy when I have it in the house and :( when it’s gone, (which doesn’t take all that long). my girls and their cousins were very close and together as much as possible when they were growing up, so blessed that they were close in age and proximity. I hope your sister feels better very soon.

Reply

I hope your sister gets some relief soon. Back pain is terrible :( You are being such an awesome sis for taking over while she is down. I’m sure that means the world to her!

Reply

Ahhh Curly’s face when Brooke is laughing in that pic made me LOL! So funny!

Reply

Right! First thing I noticed. Hilarious!!

Reply

I noticed that you keep those little juice bottles with the fun characters on the spout. TOTALLY do that too. My 2 year old loves the “woof woof” (scooby doo) and Thomas ones. They’re so darn cute and I always throw them away after a few washes and uses but jeez… seems like such a waste to throw them away after the first juice runs out! :)

Reply

I saw a guy waiting for the bus in a top hat holding a unicycle.

Reply

Hydrangeas. Those are hydrangeas and they’re some of my favourites too. They make lovely house flowers because they last forever. Be sure to empty and refill the water every single day.

Reply

looks like lots of lovely sights :)
awe your nephew is already getting so big.! time goes by too fast. I hope your sister starts feeling better real soon.!

Looks like a fun day out!

Reply

Aw, sending positive vibes to your sister!! That’s got to be tough.

Today’s best sight would have to be while doing hill repeats up to Chapultepec Castle at sunrise. :)

The look on Curly’s face, looking at Brooke’s huge smile while she is eating her nuggets, may have just taken first place as my favorite picture ever on your blog. (Brooke blogging currently has the title, FYI)
