10 Things From Our Saturday

1.  Brooke used binoculars everywhere that we went for a solid chunk of the day.

IMG 1671

2.  I hit up 10 miles on the treadmill (I think an average pace of 8:07).  I switched to my favorite treadmill once it was open at 55 minutes.  I found a quarter on my favorite treadmill so that was special.  I read The Girl on the Train for the entire run and I am hooked. IMG 1715

3.  Ate a Buffalo Chicken Tortilla salad while Brooke swam for an hour.

IMG 1676

4.  My sister-in-law is here visiting!  I’ve told you this story a million times but I am just proud about it—>  we were best friends way back when and then I set her up with my brother and they live happily ever after.  It’s great.

IMG 1681

5.  My Dad turned the bbq on.  I added a pint of ketchup after the picture because I just really have a thing for ketchup.

IMG 1687

6.  Pie and ice cream (x 2) on the porch afterwards.

IMG 1709

7.  My mom gave me one of her epic head massages.

IMG 1705

8.  We both ate ridiculous amounts of watermelon yesterday.

IMG 1666

9.  Told you (PS Brooke went through a few outfits yesterday…).

IMG 1674

10.  I went and saw Tomorrowland and it was pretty good.  It is a long movie though so be prepared.

Enjoy your Sunday and I’ll see you tomorrow morning with a video, a workout and the usual randomness!!!!

I hate ketchup but live for watermelon.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie in the theatre, see: I’m cheap.

And, I ran on the treadmill about a week and a half age because its already blistering hot in Florida.

Have a happy Sunday!

My boyfriend HATES ketchup but will eat whole tomatoes like apples. I don’t get it.

Reply

Ha. Right here. I can’t even take the smell of ketchup…but tomatoes are heaven I love them so much.

Reply

Tomatoes and ketchup are completely different – one is a whole, real, nutrient-rich food and the other is a processed food filled with sugar.

Reply

I despise ketchup and love tomatoes. They do not taste alike.

Reply

Haha I think everyone is taking this a little too seriously. I know they aren’t the same, I was kidding :)

Reply

Ketchup is one of the few condiments that I actually do eat. Most I am not a fan of.

Last movie in the theatre was Pitch Perfect 2 but I really want to see Aloha!

I’ll be in the treaill in about an hour to run 12 miles I still don’t know how you can read on it! I’ve never been able to do that! I’ll be catching up on The Bachelorette!

Strawberries! They are so good right now!

Reply

Grilling is the best! Too bad my grill is broken and I have no idea what’s wrong with it. Last movie I saw was the Marilyn Monroe story on lifetime last night. I love watching movies of people’s lives. Fascinating!

Reply

I think the last movie I saw was Paddington the Bear. I don’t get out much :-(
The movie was ok. Max didn’t really want to watch it for longer than 30 minutes. He thought the washroom was more interesting and announced to the whole theatre that it was “time to poop” …….

I haven’t run on the treadmill in over a month!

Reply

My son would happily eat ketchup alone for dinner I think. My girls try to use it as a salad dressing, it’s too much! That really is cool that your brother married your best friend, sounds like something from a movie :)

Reply

Your son and I are long-lost ketchup loving friends ;)

Reply

100% thought of you when I wrote this!

Reply

We saw the avengers movie in the theater yesterday- loved it!
I’ve been eating so much pineapple lately it’s a little ridiculous.

Reply

I have burger meat out thawing for burgers for tonight too, we also have a watermelon we need to cut up.

I have no idea what he last movie I saw in the theater was, more than likely a kid movie

Reply

I still have yet to get into any watermelon this season yet! I need to pick some up ASAP — that looks so good!

Reply

I never used to run on the treadmill too much until I had Callum and now I run on it a few times a week while he’s sleeping. It’s in our garage, and during the summer months it gets SO hot in there, and heats up the garbage to a near-boil and for me to run in THAT let me tell you, is dedication.

Reply

Agreed. Just imagining that is making me a little nauseated.

Reply

We went and saw Mad Max in 3D last weekend. LOVED it.

Reply

I’m a huuge fan of ketchup. My husband says I’m like the kid from Big Daddy. Haha. Not exactly, but I do question if I’m eating ketchup or fries ;)
Wow I haven’t been to the movies or on a treadmill run in foreverrr. Can’t even remember. Lol

Reply

strawberries and raspberries in my protein shake. I don’t generally like raspberries because they are squishy and have hair. But in my shake they are ok. Strawberries I love. Watermelon is pretty delicious.

Ketchup is awful. Tomatoes are heaven.

Treadmill is fabulous. But I’ve been (long ago) that mom who was trapped in the house with little kids and needed to run so I learned to appreciate what I had. I ran on it last week.

At the theater my last movie … I don’t recall. That’s bad. I love going to the movies. But my son was in a car accident last week so we are hanging with him watching movies in the family room while he recuperates and let me tell you…the movies we’ve been watching. That’s parental love. I just watched Godzilla last night. Wow. It’s worth it.

Reply

I do like a little ketchup with my fries!
Haven’t run on a treadmill in forever.
Haven’t been back to the movie theater since I saw Cinderella… I am overdue :)
Fruit: tons of berries, cantaloupe and I have a watermelon that I can’t wait to cut into.
Happy Sunday!

Love ketchup and I’m trying not to use it as much.
I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie in theaters…that’s sad.
I run on the treadmill about once a week.
I could live off fruit! Lately I’ve been eating a lot of pineapple.

Reply

Mom super jealous of all that bbq food. It all looks delicious.

10 miles on the treadmill is huge! I can’t run on a treadmill for longer than 3-4 miles because I get bored and turn it off. But I try to do one treadmill run a week. Sometimes two.

Last movie I saw was the new avengers movie. It was pretty good.

Reply

I like ketchup but don’t love it. I definitely only use a bit for flavor (I am way more of a mustard gal). Last movie we saw was Aloha (yesterday and it was a cute story). The week before it was Tomorrowland (so so) and the week before that it was Pitch Perfect 2 (loved). We average seeing about a movie per week (it is one of my favorite things to do). Last time I ran on a treadmill was over 2 years ago. We just aren’t friends and I had to finally break up for good (and my body thanks me over and over). Lately have been eating a lot of pears!

Reply

I am always impressed when you blog about reading on the treadmill – I just can’t do it. Maybe I bounce more than the average runner because it makes me motion sick! I can watch movies and TV though!

Last movie I watched as McFarland on DVD – so good!!!!!!!! I loved it!

Reply

I can’t stand ketchup! I am currently eating a ton of watermelon. I can’t remember the last time I ran on the treadmill, sometime in the winter?

Happy Sunday!

Reply

I love ketchup and put it on everything!
Last movie I saw was Pitch Perfect 2 and it was pretty hilarious.
My last treadmill run was Friday, but most of my runs are on the treadmill. It’s easier for me since I still have little kiddos.
I had the best canteloupe and watermelon yesterday. It was the first day that it really started feeling like summer to me.

Reply

Saw Mad Max last weekend … it was strangely good.

All about dem blackberries! I’m eating 2 cartons a week!

Right now, the treadmill is only used for speed work, HIIT style :)

Reply

I just finished reading The Girl on the Train last week- SO good! And I love ketchup and don’t understand how there are people who don’t like it.

Reply

You should write a post on how you read on the treadmill :) I just don’t see how you can do that. Maybe much better eyesight than me? LOL
We just saw Home. It was cuter than I expected. I do want to see Tomorrowland. Glad you prepared me for the length of it!

Reply

I wore that shirt on Friday. I will eventually buy more of them. Freaking love them.

Blackberries. They are my new favorite for bfast with plain greek yogurt and my homemade pb/choc granola (aka crack).

I ran on the treadmill Friday at PT. For 2 min.

Where is your movie mug?? Janae!!!

Reply

That is super awesome how you set up your brother and your friend, now you get to be sisters for real :)
I adore ketchup! I have been told it’s weird but I like to dip my popcorn in it.. no judgement please ;) I have been loving apples with peanut butter lately too, my fave after work snack! I really want to see tomorrowland but in Australia movies always come out later than they do in the states!

Reply

Last movie I saw in theaters was Age of Ultron and I loved it!
Last time I ran on the treadmill was yesterday. Our apartment building has an open air gym and it was glorious to have a cool breeze while on the treadmill.

Reply

I am eating Watermelon for breakfast! I was craving fruit, there was a whole watermelon available, so now it’s game on!

Reply

I’ve been loving raspberries lately! Its a bonus that they have been on sale a lot in my area.
I really want to get back int o treadmill running but haven’t been doing it a ton lately.

Reply

I think the last movie I saw in the movie theater was I am Legend, which came out in 2007. Wow. Yet again I realize I’m 80 years old inside.

Looks like a fun day! I need to find someone to give me an epic head massage now!

Reply

I like bbq better now, but my dad used to say when I was growing up that if I ever needed blood the doctors could hook me up to a bottle of Heinz. Ha! Remember in the 90’s when they turned ketchup weird colors like purple and green………in the hopes kids would eat it better…………what kid didn’t already love it?! And all that food coloring stained your mouth and table and clothes and everything it touched!

I saw Hot Pursuit and Avengers recently………..both were enjoyable, but nothing too special.

I have a treadmill at home, but it hasn’t gotten much use since I got it (for free!). I would rather be outside………but I do walk on it occasionally and save my running for outside.

And I am loving watermelon, kiwi, and pineapple (ok, I always love pineapple!).

Reply

Where did you get your top in the first photo? I LOVE it!

Reply

Yes to ketchup and an ever bigger YES to watermelon!! I have been eating it daily. It so good this time of year (as you know!) :-)

I ran on the treadmill yesterday. I usually use it about 1-2 times a week depending on weather.

Last movie I saw in the theatre was American Sniper- yeah, its been a while!

Reply

A pint of ketchup is always necessary. ;) Love your cute outfit!!

Reply

We have the same sister-in-law story! I was bff with mine before she dated/married my brother. It helps to totally love the people your siblings love, right?

We have spicy ketchup here in Texas from Whataburger – it’s like jalepeno juice and ketchup and I LOVE IT. Regular ketchup is okay, but spicy ketchup is BETTER.

I saw “Aloha” last night and was a bit bummed. It has almost all of my favorite people in it, but I couldn’t quite get into the story. It jumped around A LOT. But Emma Stone was magic in it, so that definitely helped!

It’s definitely been a while since I ran on a treadmill. I don’t particularly like them, so I don’t do it often! I don’t know how you do it! I’d much rather be outside.

I’ve been eating a TON of blueberries lately! I don’t know why, I just love em. Blueberries and pears. Pears are so good too.

Reply

Oh my gosh ketchup is considered a food group to me and my son. I try to control it because I know how much sugar it contains but it’s so good (on everything).

In a have been doing more treadmill runs lately since having my daughter 4 weeks ago. She sleeps in her swing while I run. 6 miles felt great today but ready to get outside and start training for my half.

Reply

I think the last movie I saw in theaters might have been Mockingjay back in November- that’s crazy though! I guess I don’t go to the theater too much at this point (I go through phases with it). That watermelon looks delicious! Blackberries were on sale today so i bought a bunch of them!

Reply

First off, where did you get those jeans from the first picture?! They are SO cool, I love them!
That watermelon also looks so yummy!! I ran on a treadmill yesterday for the first time in a while because it was just disgustingly humid outside, but I much prefer the outdoors! I do have my favorite treadmill at the gym though haha! Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Reply

How do you read on the treadmill? I want to be one of those people! Whenever I try I lose my spot on the page.

Reply

I was wondering the same thing! Especially at an 8:07 pace. Even at my snail’s pace I have a hard time keeping focused with the bouncing.

I would love to hear some tips.

Reply

How could someone not love ketchup?!

I think it’s been almost a year since I’ve run on a treadmill. YAY for outside runs!

I’ve been LOVING green grapes lately! So crisp!

Reply

Looks like a really fun Saturday!! I don’t remember the last time I ran on a treadmill…must be years ago when I used to live in an apartment that has a gym! The outdoors is my gym currently. :) Oh, and I like ketchup! That reminds me I need to go to the grocery to get some – I’m running out. :)

Reply

That salad looks amazing! And I really want to see Tomorrowland.

Reply

Man I really didn’t like Girl on the Train. I think I got my expectations up too high after Gone Girl but I really didnt care about any of the characters and figured out the ending by the middle of the book.

Reply

Saw 2 movies a couple of weeks ago and loved them, especially Far From the Madding Crowd. What I think here:http://runwright.net/2015/05/21/love-and-loss/
French fries without ketchup just aren’t worth eating. And i love fries. But what can I say, I love the ketchup too.

Reply

Ps. I am also about to read Girl On The Train. Was planning to start over the wknd but just didn’t get time. That’ll be my book this week. Looking forward to hearing what you think when you’re done. I’ve read reviews that said the ending was anticlimactic

Reply

The last movie I saw on theaters was unbroken. It was amazing!!!!!

Reply

I LOVE ketchup. And I am serious about that love.

I saw Pitch Perfect 2 in theaters the weekend it came about and that it was, well, perfect. :)

I had to treadmill it yesterday because of the storms, but I finally got a BEAUTIFUL run outside this morning!!

I can eat grapes all day. I really love pineapple, too, but I can only eat so much of it because of all of its acidity.

Reply

I love your shirt! Where did you get it?

Reply

I love ketchup! … and mustard, BBQ sauce, basically everything except mayo. My husband teases me because I go through condiments so quickly.
I can’t get enough strawberries this summer. They are getting cheaper as the warmer weather hits, and I love fresh, in-season fruit. Except peaches. Peaches are gross.
I took my mom to see the recent Cinderella. Prior to that, I hadn’t seen a movie in the theatre in like 8 years. Movie theatres aren’t really my scene.
I don’t do treadmills unless it’s winter. Even then, it has to be brutal out. How do you read on it? I wish I could. I get motion sick just thinking about trying. :)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Those jeans are really cute, by the way. They look comfy!

Reply

I don’t like ketchup and neither does my husband. We try to remember to have some on hand for bbqs but we usually have to run around looking for it.

I haven’t been to the movies in about a year and a half.

Ran a short run on the treadmill last week. We were having thunderstorms.

Blueberries are my love and there in season. Strawberries are a close second. I stock up on them. Oh, and grapes – the fermented kind. ( yes, I mean wine). :)

Reply

I do like me some ketchup especially on burgers we had some yesterday too. And we almost went to see Tomorrowland but heard it was long so maybe without my 3 year old.
Watermelon is so refreshingly good!

Reply

I watched Pitch Perfect 2 yesterday with my daughter (it was cute. I really loved the last scene).
I wish I could run on a treadmill but I can’t (I get dizzy). I wish I could :( How do you avoid getting dizzy when the “ground” is moving???
I’ve been munching on strawberries this weekend; but I have grapefruit everyday at work :)

Reply

I also set my brother up with one of my best friends that I ran cross country with in college!!! I always tell people it’s not everyday that you get to choose your sister in law!!!! My brothers wife (who I choose ) her sister married my brothers best friend and roommate in college!!!! Hope that made sense!!! Just wanted to share that I love running like you do. My kids like you love Brooke!!! And sweets!!! And now we share choosing our sister in laws!!! Have a great day!!!!

Ketchup – I could take it or leave it
Last movie – Tomorrowland too. Didn’t love it, but it was entertaining
Treadmill – Yesterday. Travelling in Guatemala and found a super cheap gym here in Antigua
Fruit. Mangoes and Papayas. They are so cheap here and are AMAZING!

The last movie I saw was a horror one but I can’t remember the name. I do remember though that the ending was terrible!

Reply

I HATE ketchup!! Okay, maybe hate is a strong word, but I definitely don’t prefer it on anything.

Fruit of the moment…watermelon! and cherries!

Reply

I LOVE ketchup, I might have a problem actually…
The last movie was..wedding ringer I think. It was okay.
Last time I ran on the TM was about 2 weeks ago, but I’m thinking about a getting my run on one tomorrow :)
I have been eating an TON of cherries lately!! YUM!
Happy Sunday!

Reply

I hate ketchup but I love mayonnaise. Replacing sugar with fat is good though, right? Also I love eating whole tomatoes – just a little bit of salt.

Last time at the theatre I saw “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night” a few months ago, it’s categorized as the first Iranian vampire western. It’s an indie film noir and I loved it. Call me a hipster but I love indie films so much more than Hollywood.

Last I ran on the treadmill was over 2 months ago. I just hate it. Bothers my knee after I go to many miles, my go to at the gym are the stationary bikes. As for fruit bananas. I’m allergic to too many other fruit so I stick to these almost ad nauseum. The potassium helps keep the DOMS away and I like to spread PB on it for a protein boost to make the perfect post workout snack.

Reply

Love the binoculars, your pants (!!), and I want to read the Girl on the Train!

Last movie that you saw in the theatre? What did you think?
**Gone Girl. It was definitely surprising. I had to hide my face a few times though.

When was the last time you ran on a treadmill?
**Last week. Spent the weekend at a beach and went running in a really fancy neighborhood. Was awesome.

What fruit have you been chowing down on lately?
**Peaches! My favorite thing about Summer is ripe Georgia peaches. In everything, on everything, as a side to all the things. Cannot eat enough.

Reply

Last movie I saw was Wild! I need to go back to see something soon.
I ran on a treadmill about 2 weeks ago.
I’ve been eating pineapple so much lately. Squeeze lime juice on it and it’s so good!

I love Ketchup! I live in Pittsburgh where the Heinz plant is, so I feel like it’s in my DNA to like it :)

Last movie I saw in theaters was Insurgent, which had great effects but I liked Divergent a lot better. We saw it in 3D which was pretty neat!

I have no idea when my last treadmill run was..I hate running on treadmill and love running outdoors in the summer! Even when it’s 90 and humid :)

Reply

Girl On The train was my read on my way home from Boston! Let met know what you think when you finish. PS – I lovest you lots.

How could anyone not like ketchup?! ;) I love ketchup!

Watermelon has been so good this year. I can’t get enough!

I don’t have a very long attention span so I really have to prepare for a long movie. The last one I saw in theatre was the seventh installment of The Fast & Furious. I know. I know. I just really love those movies.

Your mom’s head massages look almost as good as my grandma’s back scratches!

Reply

My house has been downing the watermelon too. It’s ridiculously good and so refreshing after a humid run! I saw Aloha this weekend and it was good! I highly recommend it. It gives you lots of “feels”! I’m so glad you are enjoying Girl on a Train. I read it in about 2.7 days because it was so good!

Reply

ugh pie and ice cream is the best in summer! I’m jealous!

Ah- Janae, how do you read and run at the same time?! I have always wanted to do so but I am worried I will trip! I would love a post with your advice on this.

I too have a thing for ketchup! I think the organic one from Trader Joe’s is the best ever!

Fun fact about Tomorrowland…one of the actors in it, Jedidiah Goodacre is from my hometown in Ontario, Canada. We live in a town of 5, 500 people, so it’s pretty cool that he is doing so well!

Reply

I love ketchup and do not understand anyone who does not love it. The last movie I saw was The Longest Ride and it was amazing!!!! Not just because of Scott Eastwood, I actually really enjoyed the book.. but Scott Eastwood didn’t hurt the movie ;) I last ran on the treadmill a few weeks ago, I like it more than I used to but I still prefer other cardio machines and outdoor running. I have been loving oranges lately but with summer basically here I want to chow down on some peaches and plums!

Reply

I saw Mad Max because my husband REALLY wanted to see it- I couldn’t care less, but I ended up liking it more than he did!

I’m munching on a lot of grapes lately- not my favorite fruit, but it’s what I’ve got on hand!

I did a quick treadmill run on my lunch break last Thursday. Treadmill is not my cup of tea!

Reply

LOL. I think sometimes I eat hamburgers JUST for the condiments…and often, I swear I’m having some fries with my ketchup!!

I almost ran on it this morning…it was 48F!! But I sucked it up and enjoyed 7 miles outside!

Reply

Haha I love that you found a quarter in the treadmill, it’s like you got paid for your workout!

I just started the Girl on the Train too and I have a feeling it’s going to keep me up late reading! So good already!

What a fun weekend! I just finished Girl on the Train recently and it is SO good. I didn’t have much faith in it since it is so popular but it was a nice surprise with an epic twist.

Ketchup is a big deal for my husband, but I’d pick mustard over all else.

Last movie I saw in the theatre was the The Theory of Everything and I thought it was amazing!

I last ran on a treadmill about 2 months ago. It was a long winter around here!

I’ve been loving watermelon lately, but apples are always my go-to!
