A day spent with my nieces is always a good day.
Let’s rewind to the beginning of the day.
I’m not gonna lie, I missed having a Saturday long run with my running friends BUT I am going to stick to taking a good chunk of time away from running. I’ve learned from the past that I need to make sure I really take time to recover after a marathon before starting running up again.
I did put in a little time in on the brand new stairclimber at my gym. It is the Mercedes Benz of stairclimbers. It is so much smoother than the old ones and the controls on the handrails make it so easy to change levels etc.
After the gym we took my sister some lunch and she was sporting a sweet scrunchie.
This last week she had some awful news. She had an MRI done on her back and found out that she has 3 herniated disks, arthritis and some degeneration. She is not doing well at all so if you could, send some prayers her way. I hate more than anything to see her in pain.
She was really hurting yesterday so I took care of her girls for the day. While my oldest niece was at volleyball practice we had a picnic at home.
Once we picked up my niece we hit up the arcade for a few hours of partying.
You know you are doing really well in life when you are at the grocery store at 7 pm on a Saturday night in your pajamas and slippers.
We had a trillion cookies to bake to take to church today. Once a month a group of us puts together a meal for our whole church group and I’m in charge of tomorrow’s meal.
We ended up making 180 cookies last night. I’m okay if I don’t bake for a long time again after last night;) Used my favorite cookie recipe.
To finish off the night we watched movies and the girls slept over! Brooke was in heaven.
PS you may have already seen this on my Instagram yesterday but Brooke was sporting overalls and jelly sandals… I had some great flashbacks from the 1990s:)
Speaking of flashbacks, quick one back to last week when I met Kevin Hanson…. from the Hansons Marathon Method!!! Friendliest guy ever and I tried to soak in every word he said about running.
PS this stuff is ridiculously addicting.
Ever had issues with your back? What was wrong with it?
How did you spend your Saturday night?
Food that is ridiculously addicting for you lately?
