Next thing we knew it and I could not possibly get any cooler these days.

Because all *road trips require a snack.  *I define road trips as anytime we are in the car for 30 minutes or longer.

Clearly Brooke was stoked about our road trip.

Usually I go see Dr. Bennett on Wednesdays when he works in his office near me but I wanted my foot fixed ASAP so we drove up to his SLC office yesterday.  My mom joined us to help out with Brooke during the appointment so that we could really get to work on putting my foot back together.

IMG 8707

Dr. B did a few tests on my foot and then told me, ‘It’s an easy fix.’  I let out a huge sigh of relief.  My big toe was jammed up pretty good which turned my foot into a hoof like thing rather than a foot when I ran;)  My toes weren’t spreading out as I was landing which caused the inflammation and pain.  I think tying my shoes too tight and my body just feeling run down from all of the training caused it.  He unjammed it, did some adjustments and it felt a lot better as soon as I stood up.  I’m going to pay close attention to it for the next few days but let’s just hope it is all ready to go!  Injury mystery #452 of mine that he has fixed.

IMG 8705

On the way back home my mom and I decided we needed to grab dinner.  We originally planned on going to a salad bar but then all of a sudden burgers sounded better.  We texted my dad to meet us and next thing we knew it, we were all at In-N-Out.

IMG 0146

I’m not sure if she is afraid of me or the cheeseburger at this moment.

IMG 0151

We are really into going to the movies and the only thing better than going to the movies is when it is a free movie (thanks Rachelle for the gift card!!!)

Brooke loved it!  When taking Brooke to the movies we stay out in the halls (Brooke runs up and down them and gets out all of her wiggles) during the previews and go in right when the movie starts.  This makes it so that it isn’t too long for her to sit through…

IMG 8715

When the gas station has peanut butter, chocolate and vanilla froyo all at the same time, it is kind of a must to go for a cone.  Brooke had fallen asleep after the gas station on our way home so I just sat and finished eating my ice cream cone in my car in the dark parking lot.  I could not possibly get any cooler these days.

IMG 8718

Just want to give my foot a special thank you for obeying me and feeling better.  That was a close call.  A close call that made my heart almost stop beating for an entire day.

IMG 8719

A reader emailed me something that she has learned about running that I love!!! —>  I’ve learned that a run can make a bad day better, but also that a bad run shouldn’t ruin your day.

SO so true.  It’s amazing how our runs can turn things/our perspectives around for the better and if we can learn to not allow the bad runs to affect the rest of our day negatively, we are set!

PS guess who I get to hang out with today….

Ever had any foot injuries?  Do you have a side of your body that gets injured more often?

-My right side loves to get injured.

Who do you get to hang out with today?!

Do you prefer to go to the movies or to watch a movie while sitting on your own couch?

Any In-N-Out fans?

Good news about your foot, and totally makes sense. Before my Nov marathon I had a weird foot thing for a couple of days, I have mild bunions which might have been the cause but it disappeared and I never figured it out. My left side tends to get injured and through yoga I’ve found a few weak spots on that side as well as my right lower back/hip which is interesting.

I had a weird pain on the top of my foot for about a month on this training cycle. Sure enough by the time I finally decided to go to the Dr it went away :) But I did re-lace all of my running shoes so that there was no pressure there and I’m keeping it that way until long after Boston, just to be safe!! Hope your foot pain stays away for good too!

I like going to movies, but generally I’d rather watch it from the comfort of my couch! If I stay home and watch, I am much more likely to fall asleep during the movie though. Oops.

I have never been in In-N-Out Burger before. I always hear good things about it though!

My left foot got injured right before the NYC marathon last year. Didn’t make for a great NYC experience, but I still finished! Glad your foot is better and it was an easy fix! Have a great day!

Reply

Glad your foot is OK! Something small like that always happens before my marathons! I actually fell down the stairs 2 weeks before one a few years ago. Now I feel like I need to walk around in a bubble suit those last two weeks before! :)

In-n-Out!!! I’ve only been once, when my husband and I visited LA. It was so so so good, and I’m not even a fan of burgers. perhaps just real greasy ones?

glad your foot was a quick fix! You’ve done an awesome job working hard to stay injury free this training, way to go girl :)

I love going to the movies, but I always feel sick from the extra buttered popcorn and huge diet coke. Yes I realize I don’t have to purchase those, but then I’m not getting the whole experience. I’ll take the upset tummy.

I have had plantar fasciitis for more than a year and a half, and it’s been a horrible foot injury. It’s starting to feel a little better, especially when I run, but I’m ready for it to be gone completely!

I get to hang out with my students today, as usual.

I haven’t seen a movie in the theaters since 2008 (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants II–don’t ask), and I would say I prefer watching them on my couch. I prefer to be comfortable and in my own element. Plus, I can pause the movie for a bathroom break.

I think In-N-Out is OK. I just really love burgers!! But they are pretty good for a fast-food place.

Reply

I have a 10 Miler race this weekend and my right foot is currently flaring up with Plantars Fasciitis. My entire marathon training cycle my body stayed in one piece and then it always seems to break for the smaller races.

Can Dr. B please clone himself and come to every state. Mmmmkay great!

I’ve got a foot “injury” right now. I’ve got a corn on my foot that is pretty painful, but the doctor says surgery is the only fix. I’ve just come off back surgery and starting to get my run back. I am NOT interested in foot surgery, so I’ll just suffer through.

I get to hang out with myself today. Husband is out of town, so I’m treating myself to a tempo run and a movie.

We don’t have an In-N-Out, but I’ve heard great things! It’s on my bucket list!

Reply

I had a foot/ankle injury years ago – foot injuries are not fun! Glad your doctor was able to fix it!
I prefer movies at home because then I can have whatever snacks I want and talk to people during the movie.
I forget where it was, but when I visited Utah we had amazing burgers somewhere. Maybe it was In-and-Out?
Hope you have a great day!

One of my closest friends just adopted a dog today! We actually met volunteering at an animal shelter and were both training for a marathon, so we would walk dogs then go running. She fell in love with a dog at the shelter so I get to hang out with them today :)

For new movies, I prefer watching in theaters. If I’ve already seen the movie, I would rather watch at home so I can multi-task :) I’m also really cheap though, so I don’t go out to movies very often!

LOVE In-and-Out but I live in PA and never get it! Enjoy it for all us east coasters!!

Reply

I had plantar fasciitis and ended up having minor surgery for it. I also get problems with my toes but I can usually fix it myself with stretching.

I have never had an in and out burger, although I have heard one is coming to NYC.

Reply

-My feet never really get injured, but my ankle loves to act up now and then. That’s why I include plyometric strength routines into my running routine. I really think it helps prevent that ankle pain! And for me it’s my left side.
-I get to hang out with all of my friends at school and then I get to hang out with my gym family tonight at BodyPump :)
-As long as I have popcorn, I’m cool with either the movies or staying home! BTW, skinny pop is my absolute favorite! I have about 5 bags of it in my pantry right now.
-I do love in n out, but haven’t been there in a long time! There happens to be a cafe rio across the street from the in n out by my house, though, so cafe rio usually wins :)

Reply

Happy news about your foot! I like going to the movies, but I’m usually a little too cheap for that ;) Plus it’s pretty fun to sit on the couch in a cozy blanket eating ice cream while I watch a movie with friends…so probably at home!

Reply

My right side is always injured more than my left…

I’m hangin with my adorable pups today and I prefer my couch because I sort of have a love affair with my pajamas! ;)

Reply

I’ve never been to In-N-Out. I’m so glad your foot doesn’t seem serious!! Celebration ice cream was definitely in order! :D

Reply

I injured my foot this past weekend…hopefully a few days off will help!

Reply

Not a foot injury, but there’s a muscle in my right calf that has always gotten really tight whenever I run. I’ve recently started C25k over, and am actually stretching after my runs. It was a little tight while running yesterday, but after stretching it feels okay. A friend of mine suggested I invest in a foam roll.
I love movies, no matter if they’re in a theatre or at home. I do like going to the theatre, but other theatre-goers usually ruin it for me (we have assigned seating at my theatre, because we have reclining seats now, which are awesome), but there’s always someone who doesn’t sit where they’re supposed to, which makes it awkward when you have to tell them to get out of your seat. :(

Reply

I got to hang out with friends on the track this morning!
I like to watch movies at home. :)
I broke a toe last year, but it wasn’t a running injury…just clumsy!!

Reply

I think my left side tends to get injured more often. I’m still battling a little problem I’ve had with my left foot/achilles/calf all training cycle. My calf gets really tight and basically just pulls everything else up so my toes get all locked up. If I’m good about stretching it’s totally fine, if I skip one day it gets tight all over again. Also it’s way worse after slower runs? I think because I shorten my stride so much it works my calves harder.

I get to hang out with my coworkers! Really, they’re awesome.

I think I prefer going to the movies, I have a hard time paying attention to anything new if I’m on my couch.

I’ve only had In-and-Out twice (they don’t have it over here on the east coast yet) but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Reply

Just be careful with that foot! Keep doing the RICE stuff even if you think it’s better, it will only help for Boston:)

I broke my cuboid bone (in the foot) a few years ago (not running, but in a car accident) and it was crazy painful. The pain used to wake me up at night, sleep with your foot elevated, it helps a ton. It’s been healed and I’ve been running fine for a few years now (had to start from scratch after that) but sometimes I still feel some pain there and see a little swelling. A good reminder to rest a bit- don’t want to make it worse.

My right calf is always crazy tight compared to the left. But oddly, it’s my left ITB and hip that get sore.

Reply

I used to get random top of the foot pain until I switched my sneakers to the Adidas Energy Boosts. There is much less pressure on the top of my feet now since the laces sit in a different spot so I no longer get that pain of the shoe pressing on my feet which swell as I run!….And I remain fascinated that you have gas stations selling frozen yogurt. Half the time here you don’t even want to get out of your car at the gas stations lol.

Reply

Phew! I bet you are thanking your lucky stars right about now. I’m so glad it was minor!

Reply

I always seem to get this funky pain in the outer edge of my right foot. I’ve been in a boot for it twice (suspected stress fracture) but I think I probably just need a Dr. Bennett in my life.

Reply

Although movies from home require pajamas, free food, and a pause button… I like the whole movie experience (especially the smell of popcorn!!!). I get to hang out with Elmo today, as always. It’s rainy so I want to bake something. Maybe S’mores cookies with the dark chocolate peep candies from Easter :)

Reply

I’m so glad your foot is better. You’re going to do so well in 2 weeks. I live in the Boston area and have been going to the marathon for over 20 years. It’s my favorite day of the year! I’ll be at mile 16 in Wellesley cheering you on!!

Reply

Pheww. So glad that your foot was an easy fix. And yes.!! Always need snacks on a road trip. Haha.

I don’t really like to watch movies ever.. but if I do I definitely prefer to be in the comfort of my home. Today I get to hang out with my Co workers. Haha. Like always. And than my family after work :) oh and I’m going to the dentist today also.

Reply

I love going to the theatre for movies!! I remember being around Brooke’s age and my grandma took me to see the Lion King. :) It’s awesome Brooke gets to spend so much time with your parents at this age! It’s definitely special.

Reply

i never really had injuries, and then once i rolled my ankle and its been all ankles ever since. Ive had to do lots of ankle strengthening so i dont roll them constantly!

I LOVE going to the movies, popcorn for days. And i love previews!! Thats my favorite part i think.

Ive had in n out, but living in SoCal turns me off of it. People worship in n out here, i dont understand it! The drive thru lane is always sooooo long, i dont get the hype. Its good, but i havent gone in probably at least a year and a half!

Isn’t it crazy how easy a chiropractor can figure out our bodies? Last week mine put my knee back in place. I was having this weird calf pain. Never even told her about the pain. She adjusted my knee then asked if I was having calf pain. It’s like voodoo medicine!

Reply

I’m glad your foot feels better! I also always get hurt on the right side.

I’ve had two metatarsal stress fractures…really not fun.

Reply

My right side is constantly injured too! Earlier this year I had extensor hallucis tendonitis (tendonitis of the big toe), which hurt every time my big toe lifted. Last night my right glute and IT band start bothering me on my 12 mile taper run… taper runs aren’t supposed to hurt!! Freaking out a little and looking for a good massage for after work today.

Reply

So glad your foot was an easy fix!! :) Hooray!
*I’ve had 2 metatarsal stress fractures on my right foot. Had to sport a boot around and of course they were both during winter, which is always interesting to try to maneuver with the boot in snow. lol
*Today I’m spending the second day in a row with my lil girl! :)
*Movies as home, so I can make popcorn (I can’t eat movie theater popcorn do to my allergies from artificial flavorings)
*Never had In -N-Out before.

Reply

Burgers ALWAYS hit the spot! Big In-n-Out fan over here :)

I LOVE going to the movies, but I don’t go too often, so it’s always a treat and a special occasion type thing that calls for giant buckets of popcorn!

Never had a foot injury, thank goodness!

Reply

Ugh! I am going to PT today to work with my dumb right foot :( It started with PF which led to a rupture in January and I’m trying to get it completely healthy before I run on it again.

I get to hang with 200 students today :) And my bible study girls, which makes me happy!

We love going to the movies. I should buy stock in our movie theater. We have 2 In-N-Outs in our city. We don’t go there often, but when we do it’s awesome!

Reply

Oomph glad to hear that your pain wasn’t too serious Janae! I was worried for you…before working at a running store I didn’t realize how wearing too small of shoes could create injury. Anyways you are going to rock Boston!

Reply

My right side loves to get injured too but my left seems to want to join the party. OHN! I saw my chiro about it last week and I haven’t been good at keeping regular appointments. That’s going to change and hopefully we can work through the tightness that has settled in my left leg.

Reply

I get to hang with Hope. I really wish you could meet her!

Never been to in and out.

Reply

So glad your foot is okay!! LOVE skinny pop :)

Reply

Guess what! I had the exact same thing happen to me and my foot…. AT Boston. Yup. Our feet have so many little bones and joints and the one (same spot as yours) on the top of my right foot got unhinged and therefore inflamed really fast. When I finished the race, it looked like my foot was broken. I had this huge swollen knob at the top of my foot. Because I’m Canadian, I wanted to come home to get it checked out (medical bills, hello) so the whole plane ride home I was thinking it was broken. It wasn’t! I just needed to rest it to get the swelling down and it didn’t take me long at all to resume running.

Reply

Weirdest thing- I got plantar fasciitis when I was pregnant and on hospital bedrest. Only I can get a foot injury while completely off my feet! Fortunately I was at a teaching hospital so the osteopath students got to work on my foot a lot.

I get to hang out with my kiddo and make a black forest cake for her class project on Germany. (We do class projects right, with sugar.)

I prefer to watch movies on my couch. Movie theaters expect you to wear shoes;-)

Reply

Glad your foot is all fixed up. I love the way that Lil bane is looking at you! I will take movies anywhere and anytime. Peanut butter fro-yo is my fav. Really excited today my kitche. Cabinets are being delivered. This remodel has been 10 years in the making.

Reply

I get to hand out with my patients at work, but I’d really like to hold a baby instead :) our little guy is 16 months old so I haven’t been to a movie in 17 months but I do love watching them in my Jammies at home!

Reply

For me, it’s always my left side getting injured. Silly left side. I’m so excited though because for this training cycle I have been super cautious and have been paying attention to my body, so the pain I had been feeling for the past couple of years is finally getting better!

Reply

Yay for your amazing doctor who can always fix you right up!
I have had a stress fracture in my foot about 5 years ago. Had to spend time in “the boot”. Not fun. I get to hang out w/ my dog today since I work from home. Oh, and my dentist when I have my appt this afternoon (boo!). I love GOING to the movies. It is about one of my most favorite things to do. That being said, I don’t mind being on my couch and watching from the comforts of home. My husband is a big In ‘n Out fan so whenever we are in CA, Vegas, or AZ we have to stop. No questions about it!!

Reply

I’ve never had In ‘n’ Out!! I’m a midwesterner :) Question: When did you start taking Brooke to movies? My little guy is almost 2 and I’m excited to start taking him soon!!

Reply

It’s always my right side it seems…I’m currently recovering from PF and two ruptures. Unable to run, which makes me very very cranky. I’m curious as to what others have done about this injury (the ruptures specifically) I’m trying to decide if I should go ahead with the surgery or not, and I keep going back and forth with what I think I want to do!

Reply

i’m definitely a sit-on-your-own-couch person. mostly because then i can fall asleep and not feel like i paid for a $12 nap :)

Reply

My right knee has consistently given me problems when training for races. Thankfully I worked in a PT clinic for awhile so I could always have someone check me out. I did a lot of dry needling to help break up the tight/spasming muscles that kept pulling my knee out of alignment.

Reply

My body is now balanced out. Both it bands have had 6+ month injuries.

Reply

The right side of my body likes to get injured more, a) because it’s my dominant side and b) my left leg is a tiny bit longer than my right leg. Thank goodness I haven’t been injured in quite some time.

I love going to the movies… popcorn, big screen, social environment… so fun!

In-N-Out… YUM! I live in Oregon (where they do not exist), so every time I visit one of the lower states, we always make a pit stop!

Reply

Weird- I wonder if that same thing happened to my foot last year! The symptoms sounded similar and I could tell my toes weren’t splaying properly. Oh well, all better now :)
I love movies on the couch cause = PJ’s and potty breaks ;) But I also love going out for fun!
Hahaha we were just talking about In-N-Out last night. I got a lot of dirty stares for saying I don’t really like it. I much prefer a homemade burger, grilled on the BBQ!

Reply

Unfortunately I will not be hanging out with anyone today as I am working from 815am-7pm :( but just got back form a short vacation with family so all is well. I like going to the movies but there is always that loud talker, loud laugher, or people who put their feet on your seat so sometimes I prefer watching at home. I love In-N-Out and had it last night! :D

Reply

I prefer to go to the movie theater. If I’m sitting at home then I always feel like I should be doing something and can’t enjoy the movie.

Reply

I have had a foot “injury” — or at least a strange nagging pain shooting up my left foot. For me, it seems it’s always the left. I was thinking it was because I’m left-handed — but you’re left-handed too, so that blows that theory.

I love, LOVE going to the movies. There hasn’t been much out lately that I’ve wanted to see (that my kids can also see) — so we’ve been in a bit of a movie dearth.

Definitely a fan of In-N-Out. I was very nearby one around lunch yesterday, but talked myself into going home and eating vegetables. (I’d have to say that while writing that I’m surprised that I could convince myself to choose veggies over INO).

I get to hang out with the baseball crowd (if my son’s high school game doesn’t get thunder/lightning/rained out).

So glad your foot is feeling better!

Reply

I don’t get injured on one side more than another.
I’m hanging out with my boyfriend and my mom. We do trivia together.
I like theaters more, but I don’t usually like to spend.
I’ve never been to an In n Out!

Reply

Props to you on the PB-Vanilla-Choco froyo- you’re literally my hero.
My mom and I were debating about going to the movies or finding one on Netflix last night! We ended up getting in bed and watching He’s Just Not That Into You!

My left side always gets injured!! Although right now, I’m recovering from stress fractures in BOTH of my shins :/ can’t wait to run again!! Counting down the days!!

Reply

I think I had “turf toe” once or had some kind of never damage in my right foot/toe region. But that was soooo long ago. I had foot pain a few months ago when I was training for my first half I think, but as always, it went away on its own. I dread the day I start training for a full marathon because I feel like all of the injuries are waiting to happen then…I’ve been way too lucky so far.

I love going to the movies but have not been in SO LONG. Last movie I saw was probably Gone Girl. Need to plan a date night soon! I also love watching movies on our couch (or “the cloud” as we like to call it hehe).

Glad your foot is all better! I’m trying to convince my friend to go see a doctor/chiro/someone to help her with her shin issues.

Reply

The movie “tip” is great! My daughter is 5 and sitting through the previews is still tough. I’m gonna let her play in the hall during the previews from now on! We are all about going to the movies since we moved, our new local theater had the reclining seats! So comfy!!

I am always out on my right side too. We moved a little more than 2 hrs away just a month ago and I still haven’t found a new chiropractor. I need to go, I can feel it when I run.

Hanging with my daughter today. Our plans are storytime at B&N, lunch, and the gym. Running on the treadmill today because it’s nothing but rain all day today. Our gym has a great childcare area with tons to do! Toys, computers, and one of the play areas you find at fast food play areas.

In-N-Out is the BEST!! I went to college in California but now live in Washington and I miss it!

Love the big screen at the movie theater but love my pajamas and cheaper snacks at home. Pretty excited for summer as we have a big screen in our backyard and can do movies outside!

Yay foot mystery solved!

Reply

I just took my kids to see Home yesterday, such a cute movie! I love going to the movies and seeing them on the big screen, but I really hardly ever get to go unless it’s a kids movie!

I personally think In-N-Out is overrated. They are ok for a fast food place (beats McDonald’s or Burger King) but there are much better burger joints out there.

Today we are hanging out at home (it’s spring break week here). Tomorrow we’ll go to the mall.

Glad your foot is doing better!

Reply

Smart of you to go get your foot taken care of immediately. I have a recurring stress fracture in my right foot, and I find that if I wear sneakers for more than a few months, it acts up. I’ve got to be on top of it!

Reply

So glad to hear about your foot! And my left side seriously has a death wish. I have broken my left toe and thumb, tore the meniscus on my left knee, bruised the kneecap AND NOW MY LEFT FOOT IS HURTING. I should really find my own Dr. Bennett.

Reply

No foot injuries here, luckily. Although last week I was convinced I broke my toe running. Yeah…I can be a bit of a hypochondriac. ;)

I am so stoked because I get to hang out with the Geniuses at the Apple store today. Can you smell the sarcasm in that?! I cracked my phone last night and can’t go one more minute without it being fixed.

The Boy and I both prefer movies at home. The theatre can be so obnoxious.

And, I’ve never actually been to In-N-Out. I’ve never had one by me, but I do love burgers so I’m sure it’s amazing!

I’ve had plantar fasciitis in high school and haven’t had it since! My it bands get the most injured for me.

I get to hang out with a cute little pug puppy later today when I get home. :)

After the Utah Valley Marathon last June my heel had some serious issues that kept me off it for about 6 weeks. Foot injuries are the worst!

IN N OUT burger is SOO SOO good, I hope it comes to the UK soon. We went to Shake Shack for lunch yesterday and it was amazing but now I am craving Animal Fries!

So smart to keep brooke out in the halls running before the movie starts! I can imagine how hard it is for little kids to sit still through a whole movie!!

I’ve had what I think you had when I get new shoes. For the first week or so I have to loosen my laces so it doesn’t happen.

I get to hang out with my baby girl today (she’s 2 1/2 weeks old today)! Sadly we don’t have In N Out Burger in MN :(

I’ve had Metatarsalgia and a Neuroma under my toe. It all began when I used to kickbox. Mostly I don’t have flare ups but every so often it’ll happen. I just have to make sure i wear shoes with a wide toe box.
My left ankle is always giving me problems and my left hammy too but the right knee has been my most recent injury so i guess i’m ambidextrous when it comes to injuries. LOL!
Today I get to hang out with my boss at work. HA! Then tonight it’s me and my dog. I’m actually looking forward to playing fetch in our living room and then cuddling on the couch.

I am not a huge movie theater fan but my boyfriend is. I’ve gone to see 3 movies with him so far and enjoyed them all….especially the one that had reclining seats. It was really comfy. (We saw Wild)

Whenever I travel to Cali I love to hit up In N Out. We don’t have those here in NYC.

Reply

Totally my right side. I’m pretty much useless on my left side so there are definitely imbalances there…my right leg is always the one to get angry!! So glad your foot is on the mend!

Never heard of In N Out…must not have them up here in Canada! :)

I cannot tell you how relieved I am at this. I was seriously stressing for you. It’s those little last minute injuries that bite us.

So glad your day went well :)

I knew it!! I knew it would be okay! :) Yay, foot!! You listened :)

I get to hang out with my sweet, handsome son today – I am a lucky girl!!

Movies = both. I really love hanging out at home, but since having kids, it is nice to get out every once in a while and see a movie on the super big screen!

In N Out, baby!! YES!! It’s a West thing… :)

My feet have been a major pain my entire life! I’ve had surgery on both feet twice as a child for bunions. I’ve never ran more than a half-marathon because my toes ache terribly at that distance. But… I’ve learned that if I get a certain pain in my left foot my right hip is out of whack! I always have the chiropractor adjust my feet too… really think it helps!
So happy for you that after all your hard training your on top of your potential injury! :)

Reply

Typically we’ll watch movies from home, mostly to save money, but sometimes we’ll make a date out of going to the theater and that’s always a lot of fun.
So glad your foot was an easy fix!!

Reply

I was holding my breath for you, like at a tense moment in a movie where you’re not sure what’s about to happen! I’m injury-prone so I got blog anxiety thinking about how nerve-wracking that must have been for you. Glad the foot is in the clear and is behaving as needed!

My right side tends to manifest all of the injuries… hopefully the left doesn’t get jealous one day and decide to join the fun.

Get to hang out with… the boss, over lunch. We only talked about work a little, so that was good. And I ate delicious bbq pork, which makes me happy.

Movies w/ kids- on my couch. Movies w/ adults- at the theater, although it’s rare.

We don’t have in’n’out but it sounds fabulous.

I have only had foot pain while I was training for Boston and I think it was because I ran higher mileage than usual… not sure, but the pain eventually went away. I kept stretching out my foot and arch and that helped!

Today I’m hanging out with our toddler, our neighbor a little later and my husband tonight. Seeing your baby nephew makes me so excited to hang out with our baby #2 in 8 weeks or so!!! AHH. That picture of you two is so cute!

And I’ve never been to an In and Out burger before. Yes, I live under a rock :)

THANK YOU for posting about your foot injury!! I had the EXACT problem. Mine was from over doing it and not resting enough. I stand all day at work, so I usually do my runs before or after work so I am on my feet for at least 12 hours a day. Once I cut back and started to ice and elevate it and bring my runs down a little. That was mentally hard for me but I am much better and my Chiro adjusts it very regularly!!!
YAY, BOSTON!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing to do with this post….Just wanted to say thanks for the sweet potato/BBQ sauce recommendation. We had sweet potatoes with roasted cauliflower and kale for dinner, and omg was it good with the BBQ sauce. Thanks again!

I’m so glad that you found out what was wrong with your foot!! :) I love going to the movies but my baby girl doesn’t so we usually just rent them and watch them from home :)

Hanging out with: My awesome tandem exchange partner. Though I suppose now we’re more friends than just people who get together and chat in English/Spanish over coffee. She’s from Spain and it’s always fun to spend half our time catching up in English the other half in Spanish :D

Depends on the movie! I HATE spending money to see mediocre movies in the theater. But when they’re good, they’re really good. (Unbroken, anyone?)

I get more sore/injured on the right side of my body.

Never been to In N Out. Huge Culvers/Shake Shack Fan though.

Life is good now that I’ve found that Skinny Pop popcorn in individual serving bags at Costco. I seriously can’t control myself if I have a big bag open!

I jammed my foot on a rock while trail running on Saturday, and had to take the last two days off from running. My doctor appointment isn’t until next Tuesday, though.

Glad your foot is doing better! I have only really suffered from plantar fasciitis and that alone has been a pain to get over.

I like going to the movies, otherwise I have a hard time sitting still during a movie if I’m at home on the couch.

I get random foot injuries every once in a while. They tend to go away fairly quickly though, which is nice. My right side gets hurt way more than my left.

I get to hang out with my guy and our dog today, just like every day :)

I like to watch movies in our theater room – my boyfriend set up a projector and a big screen in our basement, so we get the best of both worlds.

My random foot injury du jour: The “fatty pad” on the bottom of my heel is wearing away, leading me to a bone bruise on the heel (calcaneus) of my right foot.

I asked the doc if he could take some of my “fatty pad” from my stomach and put it on my feet so I’d be running on fat. He looked at either like I was crazy – OR – like I was a medical genius!!

I had a foot issue before my last half so I went to see my old trainer and he worked what I call “Bruce Magic” and I was all better for race day!

I don’t think I have 1 side more than the other that get’s injured. I like to share the love!

I prefer to watch movies at home on my own couch but sometimes I like to go to the movies if I just can’t wait to see it!
