-We used to hang out at indoor playplaces all day and now we have upgraded to the park. Moving up in the world.
-The workout for the day! I went into this wave tempo thinking it would be a piece of cake. No cake was had during this workout. I think it is because my body expected to jog slow after each of the .5 miles at a 6:30 pace (like what I do after yassos) but nope, there weren’t any breaks. Lead legs may have contributed to this feeling of wanting to quit multiple times each minute.
9 miles @ 7:06 average pace.
-If you ever wonder why restaurants that don’t serve breakfast open up at 10:30 a.m—> Stop wondering because they open up early for people like me. I showed up at 10:30 on the dot because I needed a steak salad with extra quac long before most people eat lunch.
-LOVED this article about Mary Cain.
-Brooke’s reaction when my food came out before hers.
-Played Coming Home by P. Diddy during spin this morning. That song is a great one for climbing hills.
-So, they have kid treadmills.
-Last night a friend really needed some ice cream to help her happiness levels. I was quite impressed with the cone that I made for her.
It takes skills to swirl like that.
-When you think you are all out of concealer/foundation just cut the tube open and there is still a gold mine left. There’s still like $4 of foundation in this sucker:
-Brooke’s really into high-fiving lately.
-I was pretty amazed by the emoticon that a 6 year old made for his mom. About 65% of all of my text messages included a wide range of emoticons.
-Multiple people ended up soaking wet because of the below situation:
-I have some fun news to share with you tomorrow! WAHOOOOOOO!!!!

Jennifer @ JenChoosesJoy
Breakfast club run, celebrated a friends 60th birthday, ate entirely too much popcorn this afternoon, about to take a orange theory class, and then meet my husband for dinner!
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
It was raining cats and dogs in Phoenix and dropped 15 degrees overnight. I have a “skinny” dress on and freezing. I went to spin this morning then did strength training for legs and hips. Then I went to hand therapy for my naggy tennis elbow. After I stopped at Whole Foods for a coffee and trail mix. Now I’m at the office bored in a meeting.
tess
Somehow I think your attention is split during the meeting.
If only we all had a great joke that would make her inappropriately burst out laughing… ;)
Roxana
Hi Megan! I had elbow issues too. Then my physical therapist told me to stop leaning on my elbows. I removed the arm rests from my desk chair and not leaning on my elbows has helped tremendously. Rubbing & icing helps too!
Sarah @ KS Runner
Now I can’t wait for tomorrow because 1) your news and 2) its Friday! :)
Running 7 miles starting in 24 minutes…watching March Madness…yummy dinner…early to bed!
Also, the kids treadmill is awesome!
Laura @ This Runner's Recipes
Recovery run with my puggle, lots of coffee while working on recipe development, lunchtime walks with my husband, a nap because training is tiring, and excited to make butternut squash, chicken, and feta pasta for dinner later tonight!
Kayse@runhappyrunhealthy
Oh my gosh I love that you get to be outside in t-shirts at the park – how awesome! Summer is coming!!!
Not awesome? That treadmill – that scares me for so many reasons!
My Thursday includes a “Cupcake Extravaganza” at work and Brinner with the ladies for bookclub night. Bring on the mimosas!!!
tess
Uh…yeah. I wasn’t sure on the kid treadmill either. My first instinct was not joy
Stephanie
I’m not cool with that kids’ treadmill either.
Michelle Kim
I went to the track with my running group, and then to the nearby mountain for some hiking!
Love the spring weather and the really little billy goats that are on the farm by the mountain!
Natalie
Pool running in a bit and I am psyched to get in the pool today!
Having special time with my sweet 2 year old today!
My four year old just gave me the greatest hug when I picked her up from school :)
My husband just planned a fun date night for us!!
PS: Happy Birthday to your Mom!! :)
Amanda @ Slimplify Life
I LOVE FUN NEWS! Is it that it is Friday?!?! ;)
PS. That bread-sticky-thingy looks like heaven.
Have an awesome night!
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
Excited for your news! Laughing at 10:30 lunch. I guess marathon training will do that :)
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job
Awesome! I did a 10 confessions post for my Thursday :)
Im excited for tomorrow bc I will finally be a paid employee at a local studio where I just finished interning. If you ever come out to Chicago come take my class! Movin on up…
Excited for your news tomorrow!
Sam @ Grapefruit & Granola
I am going to have to try that concealer trick next time. Actually, I’m going to have to use it on my foundation as well. I hate when you have a makeup item and it seems like it’s out but you can tell there is still more in the container… so cutting it open is a good idea! Unless it’s a glass bottle, of course :)
Megan D
Your fro yo skills are on point. I hope whoever was on the receiving end appreciated the masterpiece.
It is never too early for café rio salad/guacamole. Basically, it is its own food group.
AmandaM
That is a ton of foundation left! And Laura Mercier – more like $20 per tear drop amount so that is indeed a gold mine :)
Susan
I had steak salad today, too! YUMMY!!
I pay no attention to the clock when I eat. When girl is hungry….girl is hungry.
So much better to just feed when needed, not when the clock/society says we should.
Can’t wait to hear your news!
Jessica @ VEGGIE RUNNING MOMMA
can’t wait to hear the tomorrow news.!!
and looks like a great thursday. :) Brooke’s face is to adorab;e in that pic where your food came first. ohh she knows.
and my thursday, run, work and hopefully lots of food and toddler time once I get home. not as fun as your Thursday.
Alisha @ Real Girl Running
That’s a great article about Mary Cain! Loved it.
Thursday started with a short tempo run, then some work, found out I’m going to Sydney next week for a couple of days (yay!), home to hubby, dog and couch. All good!
Molly Rose
I remember in college, me and one of my girlfriends went straight to Moe’s after a morning class, and be the first ones to walk in at 10:30am. It was slightly embarrassing, ha!
LOVED the article, especially: “The dominant philosophy now is that girls, like all other runners, should train to become very strong by lifting heavy weights.” I hope this really is emphasized more out there to female athletes! PS— she sleeps with her head in a tent. Can we talk about this?
Excited for the news!
Barbara
Brooke must have that treadmill, the girl wants to run!
Hannah @ hannah goes running
Brooke is just the absolute cutest, I love the relationship you two have!
My Thursday has involved squats and foam rolling :-)
Looking forward to hearing your news tomorrow!
Roxana
Hola Chicas, I was hiking the desert this morning on the job! I work for a parks department;) Tonight I was going to do a tempo run but I’m coming down with a bug…my throat and ear are starting to hurt. I’m bad at not resting so I’ll force myself to be on the couch tonight. Happy Running & Eating to all of you!
cheryl
OK, this is no joke–Along the lines of the kid treadmill. Way back when I had 3 toddlers (my kids are 3 years apart, total, oldest-youngest)…My toddler philosophy of parenting was to tire them out…So on winter days, I would bring in the bike w training wheels and prop up the training wheels on foam floor covering pieces–Viola! Exercise bike. Bring in the mini trampoline (kind of like a jumping treadmill), and take the cushions off the sofa–(bounce house)…add music, have the kids switch activities every minute or so…THEY HAD A BALL!! AND THEY NAPPED REALLY WELL TOO!!
Jen
Omg the lululemon WMTM upload!!!!
Please ppl go buy it all so I quit drooling! It’s 100+ items on sale!
Victoria
That foundation picture reminds me of a saying our swim coach in college used to have – there’s always a little more toothpaste in the tube. Meaning you can always give just a little bit more when you need to. Life advice.
meredith @ Cookie ChRUNicles
right there with you on the 10:30 am lunch – sometimes you just have to!
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out
Oh my gosh- cut the tube open, genius!! I can’t wait to try that!
Melissa
The best part of Thursday was going out to dinner with my little girl, great ending to my busy work day! :)
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
I’m about to head out to teach BODYPUMP, so I think that will be the best part of my day!
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties
ooooh excited for your fun news! Also brooke is looking like, insanely grown up lately. She’s actually posing for pictures with you ahhh hahah so cute! and YES one of my favorite money saving tricks is cutting open tubes of makeup/lotion/soap/etc to get the extra out… there is usually SO MUCH left!
Doni @ My adventures in living
Whoa! A teaser! Can’t wait.
Nona @ RunningHigh
Just polished off a bag of Sour Patch kids…that was the highlight!
Amanda B @ Cupcakes & Miles
OMG girl! Have I ever told you how much I do NOT like surprises?! What is this news?
I will give props though…that cone is mucho impressivo! ;)
And, do we think I could get away with a kids treadmill? Cuz that looks awesome!
Lindsey @ Simply Lindsey
That photo of Brooke is priceless!!
Can’t wait to read the news you’re sharing tomorrow!
Maddie@DixieRuns
Today was an easy 3 mile treadmill run followed by delicious cheesy garlic bombs (recipe on my blog – amazing), grilled chicken and baked potatoes. Then it was time to lay in bed and watch the jinx!
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul
Woah that’s crazy there’s a treadmill for kids! That cone looks sweet! And that is a cute emoticon card!
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff
I ran 4 slow happy miles.
I made a taco casserole! It was basically nachos in a lasagne dish. lol.
I got to spend the Eve with my boyfriend and we just booked a spring getaway to see the cherry blossoms in Washington DC! I can’t wait to go for a run there. Always envious of fannetastic foods photos :)
Emily
First of all, Brooke’s face expression is HILARIOUS. I think I do that occasionally when I get impatient at a restaurant.
And wow, you do have mad cone swirling skillzz. My brother does too, but alas, I didn’t acquire that trait. Mine usually end up flopping over.
Monica
Oh, my goodness… the emoticon! hahaha… Kids these days, man… ;)
MCummings
“Coming Home” is an AWESOME song. On my running playlist and I have to sing out loud when it comes on!
And yes, I cut my containers open to get out the last little bits too. I mean, that stuff is pricey,yo!
Rachel @ Blonde with a Chanse
Excited to hear your news!! Brooke is as cute as ever :)
Jane @ 50statecanuck
It’s Friday by the time I had time to read this buuuuut…last night was track practice with my team and it was awesome! :)
Well done on the ice cream cone – those are skills!! I need to start practicing those particular skills…and then sampling the final product!!
Have you ever played the emoji game with your friends over text? It’s hilarious…I posted about it last week:

Kristen
I used to work 5:30am – 2:00pm and our lunch was 10:30am. I was always super thankful for the non-fast food restaurants that opened that early.
Kay
Haha, I always tend to eat early for lunch too – mainly because the office kitchen gets crowded right around 12.
Rebecca Best
For your runs-when you say “2 Mile warm up,” what is your pace approximately?
Emily
I went to school with Mary Cain and she is incredible! Portland is such a fun place to live and run because I’ve been passed by Shalane Flanagan and am always in awe :)
