I took a rest day from exercise but Brooke had a brick workout to do…
Started with some swimming and then
she hit up the running.
My favorite type of hug.
I could eat chips and salsa before every single meal for the rest of my life.
And the tostada supreme with the crispiest tortilla buried underneath.
My bff that lives in Thailand is here to visit!
And for Brooke’s 3rd workout for the day… a little run with a sub 3 marathoner!
I’ve got 20 miles to do today… glucose is needed.
Finished off with a kiddie Coaster.
And that’s a wrap.
What are your Saturday plans?
Long run? How long?
Mild, medium or hot salsa?

Running 10 miles with a friend today, good luck with 20! That’s such a cute indoor pool, wish we had that :)
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious
Today I’m going to spin class then meeting a friend for lunch at cafe rio so your salsa questions perfect. For me, it’s always hot, hot, HOT!!!
Sarah @ KS Runner
No specific plans today other than to get blood work done. That should take all of maybe 30 minutes of my day. I have 20 miles to run but that will be tomorrow for me. I’d say medium salsa. Chips and salsa is the best, but I always have way too much then I’m not hungry by the time I get my food!
Laura @ This Runner's Recipes
Good luck with your 20! My long run was 12 miles yesterday.
Medium salsa is my favorite. That tostada looks so good!
Saturday will be spent visiting my parents and sister, which always makes for a grear day! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Bridget
My Saturday plans are to accompany my sister and her dog to the vet (UTI… poor doggy).
I’m actually not sure what my run will look like today… I don’t have any plan except to run. I’m hoping I’ll feel good enough for a longish run.
I always choose the HOTTEST salsa that I can find. I love spicy food!
Laur
Brooke is even running in the “run” lane! Atta girl! AND she is raising her hands on the roller coaster which is the best way to do it!
I love all salsas as long as they are chunky and bonus points for corn/blackbeans!
Jessica @ kiwiyogirunner
Cheek to cheek hugs are my favourite too :) my Saturday is over now, in Australia we are a whole day ahead of you guys! My bf likes to say I live in the future :) I waitressed all day so I am wiped out!
Salsa- always mild, I cannot handle hot stuff!
sally @ sweat out the small stuff
a super low key day for me today…
Cleaning, filing papers, shredding old documents, foam rolling and stretching and maybe a little clothes shopping. Tomorrow I’ll try to run a mile pain free. #babysteps
Nona @ RunningHigh
Brooke is so dang adorable. Good luck with your 20 miler!
Kris @ Canadian Girl Runs
Medium salsa… Just a bit of spice:)
14 miles to do tomorrow!
Barbara
spin class and rowing this morning, followed by Home & Garden Show this afternoon.
I like ALL levels of salsa, depends on what I am slathering it on. :)
Utah looks like such a beautiful place. I am in central California and we are FLAT and have two types of weather HOT and FOG, that’s pretty much it.
victoria @ Smiles 'n' Snuggles
We Have a friends 40th birthday to go to tonight. My ‘long’ run is only 4 miles but that’s long for me. Not sure if I’m doing it today or tomorrow yet though. Depends on when the husband wants to go to the gym. Otherwise it’s just hanging out with my boys!
Jessica @ VEGGIE RUNNING MOMMA
Brooke was sure busy Yesterday.!!
Tostada supreme looks soo good.
I’m going to do a “longer” run today. I’m not sure how long though. Just easing into running after an injury. So nothing close to a 20 miler. Saturday plans include hanging out with a friend and working
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner
I got work today and then I need to come home and pack some more. Moving is such a pain!!
Chelsea
Saturday=rest day, and I need it, but tomorrow is a 13/14miler.
I definitely like hot salsa! Your blog inspired me to try cafe rio last week for the first time in 3 years. The salmon salad was good, and I loved that you could order online and pick it up.
Amy @ Life to the Full
We’re out of town so I did my long run earlier in the week. Strength training planned for today and swimming at the pool with my little guy! Not sure he has a brick workout planned like Brooke’s, but we do need to burn off some major energy this morning :)
Rock that 20-miler!!! Salsa and chips are delicious… only mild salsa for me, though!
Kristen @ Glitter and Dust
Taking advantage of this beautiful summer-like weather and getting out on my bike today. Will probably ride a couple hours and go on a walk!
We are in the process of selling our house and our realtor is holding an open house today – so we are crossing our fingers that it sells. Our dream home is just waiting for us! ☺ Happy Saturday and weekend.
Kendra
Where is that indoor pool?? It doesn’t look like the Provo Rec (there’s not a million kids there!) I need to take my kiddos there!! Also, that Mexican food looks delish. We’re always looking for good Mexican! (We’re from southern ca so we’re kinda picky)
Becky @ Ok, so here's the plan
Medium or hot salsa – what’s the point of mild? I love chips and salsa and would definitely eat it daily.
My long run is supposed to be 13 miles tomorrow, I have a decently bad cold today, so we’ll see where I’m at tomorrow.
As for Saturday plans, I have none. It’s pretty nice :)
Kelly in Canada
Medium salsa, always! And today I’m running a 10.4k fun run around the Seawall in Vancouver, BC. I signed up for it to stay on track with my training for the BMO Half in May, and this race is awesome because I get a mug of hot chocolate at the end and I get to keep the mug! Woohoo! Who’s day is about to get better?!!
Suzy
Hi Kelly! I live in Abbotsford. Which fun run is it? Free hot chocolate? That’s awesome. Is the BMO Half going to be your first half? It’s an incredibly beautiful course. Tough as usual, but beautiful and rewarding.
Kelly in Canada
I’m in Abby too! It’s the Try Events’ Hot Chocolate Run! They do a few different fun runs a year. The BMO will be my 3rd half, but hopefully better than my last (I had a leg injury…bad news…). I’m hoping for sun this year!
Leigha @ The Yooper Girl
NO long run today because I’m taking a few days off to get ready for track season. It’s hard because I always do my long run but I know it’s best for my body to give it a rest!! I’ll live it through your 20 miler today :)
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job
Im doing my long run tomorrow but since I am only just hopping back into half marathon training it’s only 5 miles haha. My friend and I ended up realizing we were long distance running snobs when we would set out to do a run together that was “only 6 miles.” Good luck on your run today!!
Jill
Good luck with your 20!
Taking our new puppy to training class today. I hope it goes well.
Really warm here so going to Bootcamp class then a short run.
No salsa, its all about the guacamole :)
Jennifer @ The Peanut Butter Runner
Good luck with your 20 miler!! 10 easy miles today for me…1 week post-marathon and feeling good :)
Definitely mild salsa. I’m a wimp when it comes to spicy foods!!
Anna | Gone Banannas
I have a 17 mile run to do today….which I’ve been attempting to get to since 8am and it’s now 11:14 am…LAWD GIVE ME SOME MOTIVATION!
Kristina @ Blog About Running
Oh man, yes please to chips and salsa before every meal. I recently tried mango salsa for the first time…. changed my life! Seriously, it’s that good! :)
My long run is tomorrow, today I have some hill work… on the treadmill because we don’t have any hills here, haha!
Courtney! @ Redefining Athlete
My run was only 4.5 miles today, but then RPM and later today I’m going to a grand opening party for Pound “cardio jam session”. It will be a good show to anyone thinking I can keep a beat or do something in rhythm.
Mild or medium salsa for me… but I’ll take guacamole instead if you have it!
Marissa @ Run Riss Run
I have a date with Shawn T and kid basketball games. I’m hoping to back at running in 4 weeks!! The countdown is on!
Hot salsa, always :)
Jenni
Was the post from Friday’s events? Cause you said you took a rest day from exercise but then later said you have a 20 miler to do today…I’d consider 20 miles exercise :) The backdrop of the mountains in that photo with Brooke running is amazing! Lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Jennifer @ JenChoosesJoy
I could eat Mexican every day and especially crave it after long runs!
Saturday plans: just finished a long run with friends and have a fundraiser dinner tonight.
Medium salsa.
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona
I like mild salsa. I don’t like anything hotter than that!
Kay @ goaloflosing.com
What a fun place to swim! I bet she loved it! I can’t wait for my baby girl to get her first pool experience this summer!
Elena
Hoping to do 7 miles today outside. It will be a late afternoon run – around 4. LOVE hot salsa!
Kathy McElhaney
8 mile run with over 1,000′ elevation gain today.
Making these burritos (http://www.plainchicken.com/2012/07/chile-colorado-burritos-slow-cooker.html) today. There will be chips and medium salsa!
Rachel @ Blonde with a Chanse
Good luck on your run!! I can’t wait to hear about it! The picture of Brooke in the pool is the cutest thing ever :) We had some fun plans for the day, but my poor hubby is sick so I will just be taking care of him, and trying not to get sick myself. I am a hot salsa type of girl! The hotter the better! :)
Kristen
I love HOT salsa!

My hubby and I just got in from an 8-mile run in about 8 inches of snow. Most places we were able to run in tracks where people had cross-country skied, snow-shoed, or walked. There were a few spots of virgin snow though. It was a very difficult, but beautiful run. I am exhausted!
Losing Lindy
I love Brooke…I just want to scoop her into my arms and hug her
Kelly
Hold up! That tostada…..what a crispy plate of deliciousness!
Today I bought a new car battery, went to the market, then took the big kids shopping for their spring sports gear plus a few other “must-haves” from H&M. I had plenty 0’running miles this week so went for a nice long bike ride in the afternoon sun! Fun fact-my weekly run distance and my bike ride distance were the same! (dork moment).
Medium salsa.
Instead of my usual long run this week I did three 9milers mixed in with my usual 6-ers. It was a super busy week and today begged to be a ride day.
Natalie
Pool running today!!
My son’s birthday is today!!
Later going to a preschool auction for my daughter’s school – it is an 80s theme! :)
Casey @ bahstonrunnah
15 miles tomorrow morning! good luck with the 20 miler!
Cheri @ Overactive Blogger
Hot salsa all the way. Anything else just isn’t worth it!
Natalie @ Never Serious Blog
Mediums salsa and GIMME THAT TOSTADA. I could eat Mexican food every meal for the rest of my life. So stinkin’ good.
LeAnne @ This is my faster!
Swimming was on the agenda for this morning. I have a half next week so my long run is only 6 miles (and it’s scheduled for tomorrow morning (weather permitting)). And definitely medium salsa (I’m a Goldilocks kind of girl).
[email protected]
I did 8 miles yesterday AND I had HOT salsa! The hotter the better for me! That Brooker is a hoot!

seems like a pretty great saturday!
Kay
What a great Saturday! I walked all over downtown by me, it was too nice out to not enjoy it!
Tricia @ A Couple of Dashes
Medium salsa for sure! I don’t like it too mild or too hot. I’m definitely with you though, I could eat chips and salsa everyday! YUM! Speaking of that… I think I need to go get some!
