Reply

Let’s plan on going out the same year for that marathon:) We can go to Disney after and get some Dole Whip!

Reply

Count me in!

I have a massage today! Woohoo! My massage therapist got sick when I was supposed to have my last one, so I’m more excited than normal for todays!

We only have healthy cereals in the pantry right now. I could eat an entire box of Lucky Charms in a day though (been there, done that).

Naps are the best! Take them whenever you can!

Reply

Yesssssss! Those goofy sour gummies are the best! I have no idea why but they are so so much better than all other sour gummies. I love to keep them in the fridge and eat them cold!

I’ve never run LA but I would love to! Sage Canaday is going for his OTQ at LA this year. He’s such an impressive athlete consistently running fast road marathon times AND trail ultras!!! It’s crazy! I can’t wait to see how he does!

Reply

I did the LA marathon in 2014, it was a blast! I was the 22nd female finisher overall last year and ended up winning a nutri-bullet! DO IT!!

Reply

EMMA!!! OH MY GOODNESS… that is a huge accomplishment. Way to go girl!

Reply

No cereals in our pantry right now, but I love Quaker Oatmeal Brown Sugar squares, Rice Chex, and Kashi Blueberry Clusters. In grad school I honestly ate cereal twice a day sometimes. Whenever I visit my parents now, I raid their cereal cabinet.

I got to run outside today for the first time in over a week! It’s supposed to snow again almost every day this week and it felt glorious to get some fresh air.

Reply

FRENCH TOAST CRUNCH!!! I’m just a little bit excited about it’s return, if you couldn’t tell :)

Reply

We had another snow day today and I really tried to get my son to nap with me on the couch, but, no-go for us :)

Reply

I don’t know if you’ve mentioned this before, but where did you get those super cute black and white flower running shorts? They are awesome!

Reply

Thank you Elise! They are from Lululemon but they aren’t online anymore:( I’m so sorry!

Reply

I only have Cheerios in my cupboard – but I do love Lucky Charms! I also eat a bowl of Fruit Loops when I go away for a track meet! It is a tradition!

Reply

LA is definitely on my bucket list… but then again there are probably only like 3 races that are not.

Favorite Disneyland treat = Mickey’s Kitchen Sink
http://www.redefiningathlete.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/IMAG3978.jpg

You get to keep the sink too. I eat scrambled eggs out of it now. Not the same… but it still makes me happy.

Reply

I just looked at your photo and Mickey’s Kitchen Sink looks incredible…. I need that for sure next time I am there!

Reply

Took the little one out today just to run through a drive through for a diet soda. Best me time of the day.

Favorite cereal right now: chex. We bought all the flavors, no lie. And I think I must average 4 bowls in 24 hours right now. Also, no lie.

Reply

My finace brought home Cap’n Crunch Sprinkled Donut cereal last weekend. It is pretty good, but not one of my favorites. We also have raisin bran in the cabinet but I’m acting like that doesn’t exist :)

Reply

One of the coffee shops near me is running a promotion where if you bring in a heart – origami or cut out – they’ll give you a free coffee, now through Valentine’s Day! Score.

Reply

Ummm that is awesome!!

Reply

Monday matters = flip flop weather in Colorado.

Reply

AMAZING. The best ever. Enjoy!

I’m at urgent care reading this. Slammed my hand hard on the treadmill arm this morning and swelled the size of a cantaloupe. It’s really swollen & bruised. Hoping it’s not broken. :(

Reply

Oh Megan… that is awful! I am so sorry! Keep me updated and I hope your hand is okay and feeling better soon!

Reply

I love cereal but I’ve cut back on eating it. Prob bc I love all surgery cereals!

Never ran LA. I’m excited to run tomorrow for the first time in over a week. I had the FLU & spent most of the week in bed. I’m praying I don’t die.

Tomorrow my daughter turns 8 & im excited for her chuck e cheese party! Woohoo!

Also, how is your sister & her sweet baby??

Reply

That cup is HYSTERICAL. So accurate.

Every time I see your white converse I’m reminded of how badly I want a pair! Have you seen the ones with the monogram on the tongue? You and Brooke need a matching monogrammed pair! :)

Reply

Man oh man, do I wish you lived in Boston! I would love for you to come chat with me to make the time go by faster – the treadmill is just the MOST boring.

Reply

Chicago PD is filming right outside my building so I have been creepily spying on them while wrapped in a blanket bc I am cold. I feel like I am almost as bad as the guy I talked to in the elevator who said that he doesn’t like all the filming bc it is upsetting his cat.

I havent had a lot of cereal lately, but I have been craving it so I may have to pick some up soon!

Reply

Trader Joes trip just made my entire Monday worth it.
My all time favorite cereal will always be Reeses Puffs, but I think cocoa pebbles comes in at a close second. Or the healthy Puffins cereals. Those are actually pretty delicious.
The last time I went to Disneyland I was like 6 haha, soooo I just remember Mickey Shaped pancakes and Polynesian foods being amazing.

Reply

I live in Portland and I’ll totally FedEx you donuts from Blue Star! Also some from Voodoo so you can compare. haha.

Reply

Can I venmo you;)

Reply

Ha, of course! ;) If you email me your address, seriously next time I’m around Blue Star I’ll get you some donuts and send them your way! :D

Reply

I am all about Kashi cinnamon harvest cereal.
My Monday matter is I am starting to think I fractured my arm. I’m finally going to the doctor tomorrow. Regardless of what I did it looks like I won’t be very active for a while. :(

Reply

Oh Sally! That is awful! I am truly so so sorry! Keep me updated on how you are doing and I hope you get better asap!

Reply

Your hair looks great!

Reply

SO much cuteness! Honey Nut Cheerios are my fave!

Reply

I love the simple mickey head ice cream pop

We have Quaker oatmeal squares cinnamon

Are you going to do the Disneyland half? I think it opens this week.

(By the way, last time I commented was right before the Disney world marathon, my first. And it was awesome. (And a little bit horrible) we dressed up and stopped to take pictures and just had a great time

Reply

This is a rare one but I am slightly obsessed with Cracklin’ Oat Bran. As I’m typing this I am deciding that will be next fuel for my long run. Yes.

20 miler today. The last 5 miles I felt like a small midget was on my back. Some serious “I can do hard things” for those last 5!

Reply

I would love to one day do the LA marathon…one day if my legs and hips make it out of Boston..lol.

It has been snowing here since like Saturday! Everyone had snow days today… is it spring yet?! I miss the warmth of the sun on my face I’m even debating going to a tanning booth for faux soon.

I’m currently rocking frosted mini wheats. I love them. They are good for you with a little bit of frosting for those who love it!

Reply

LA marathon was my first ever marathon…..last year! It was super warm that day but I loved it. Great crowd support, so many cool sights to see. Plus you end at the beach, what could be better?

Favorite Disneyland food…..ice cream sundaes.

Favorite cereal….Cracklin Oat Bran.

Reply

I love Brooke’s sweet smile! She is the cutest!!! Today has been a stay home in our PJs kind of day for me and my little girl so not too much to report :) It has been so long since I have been to Disneyland that I don’t even know the treats! I need to go!!!

Reply

I love those black and white shorts – super cute!!
Lucky Charms has always been one of my favorite cereals, and Ohs!! (but I don’t like milk on my cereal)

Reply

Okay, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but I seriously check your blog all day long and whenever you have a new post up, there’s already at least 40 comments on it. What. The. What. You’re amazing. Sarah Hall logs 110 miles per week? Heroin. Incredible. And so are you, for entertaining your peeps while they’re on the treadmill.

Snow Day Monday = Sunday Part 2 :-)
I don’t have any cereal in my house right now. Girlie only likes the kinds I only let her have for dessert. I have a tendency to eat about 4 bowls of cereal at a time so I don’t get it super often.
Best treat at Disney? Definitely the Grand Marnier Slushy in France (epcot). Although I kinda have the impression that you don’t drink.

Reply

LA Marathon in 5 weeks. Just did an 18 mile training run through Malibu Creek. I hope it’s not too hot on race day!

Reply

I love Honey Nut Chex or Vanilla Chex. It has been too long since I was at Disney.. so I don’t remember any treats.

Reply

Cereal in my pantry is Joe’s O’s! I live in Orlando and don’t have a favorite Disney treat! Is that bad?! haha

Reply

I’ve done the LA Marathon 6 times and next month will be #7. It’s my favorite and it’s close by too! I love the point to point course. I’ll never forget the year we had the torrential tsunami downpour and we all just slogged along!

Reply

In our pantry we have: Captain Crunch Peanut Butter, Life (Squares,Maple Syrup Flavor) and some Frozen cereal. It is pretty much like lucky charms with Else and Anna on the box.
Also, the Nutella Donut from Hurts Donut is from my side of the country. They just opened up last year and they have been a HUGE success!

Reply

My daughter’s junior high band is gearing up to play at Disneyland in mid-March! Can’t wait. I’ll be eating frozen chocolate bananas!

We usually have Honey Bunches of Oats, granola of some kind, and a random Cheerio flavor in our pantry.

Monday matters: My MIL has a rare ovarian cancer and got into the clinical trial we were hoping for and gets to take a very promising medicine!

Reply

I love the cup! Where is it from?
Today was the first day of track at school and I’m so excited for this season! I run the 3200m :)
My fav Disney treat would have to be the mickey mouse rice krispy treats!

Reply

Can I be completely honest? I went to blue star on my birthday a few weeks ago and got myself (and ate them all myself over two days) 5 donuts. I love an apple fritter and I didn’t loooovvveeee blue stars apple fritter-it was my least fav of the five. Had a lot of cinnamon. Their other donuts were much better-esp the buttermilk biscuit one. If you can get your hands on some blue star donuts though, definitely do! Amazing!

Reply

I am doing the LA marathon, and am super excited for it! It will be my second marathon and my first time doing LA, can’t wait!
I go through phases with cereal, right now I am not on a cereal kick but do have some kashi go lean and blueberry muesli from traders in my pantry! I do love me some sugary cereals but try to stay away!

Reply

Monday Matters? I’m about to go teach a BODYATTACK class, which will include all of my running for today. And all the treats at Disneyland are good! :)

Reply

I liked the hip article, thanks for sharing! On the subject of squats– it’s amazing how many people simply don’t know how to squat, (regardless of their bone structure). I’ve had so many patients put the weight forward and have their knees over their toes! I have to demonstrate to probably half my patients, it amazes me!!

Looks like you had a nice relaxing weekend, enjoy your BIRTHDAY week, beautiful!!!!

Reply

I don’t know what it is about them… But I love the churros at Disneyland. I’m pretty sure they’re just regular churros… But just basking in Main Street whilst eating a delicious cinnamon-sugary treat is a special moment!

Happy Birthday WEEEEEEK! February birthdays = the best!

Reply

So many donuts….so little time!

Reply

I’m from a ‘burb of Portland, and I haven’t heard of Blue Star! Sounds very good! I’d send you some too!

I love Dole Whip!

We have some Honey Nut Cheerio’s and my hubby’s favorite “Oh’s,” which are hard to find. Only Safeway carries them around here.

Monday matters: I found some very cool fold-up “fortune teller” and origami frog valentine cards for my students!

Reply

Blue Star donuts are my FAVORITE!! Best donuts I’ve ever had. I’m from the Bay Area, but am traveling to Portland for the Rock and Roll half marathon in May, mainly to reward myself with donuts

Reply

Dole Whip for the win!!!

Reply

Monday Matters: I ran in the rain today. Not just any rain but a downpour of water beyond epic proportions. That was fun.
I also got lots of running tips from friends of mine. That’s one of my favorite parts of my day…talking about running with friends that “get it” and don’t judge my obsession with all things running related ;)

Reply

I’ve done the LA Marathon 4 times. They have changed the course (Dodger Stadium to the beach) and I will definitely do it again. The finish line is so close to my house.
I will be there this year to cheer on my friend!
Cereal – granola and Ezekiel cereal with almonds.

Favorite Disneyland treat – Churros!

I would love one of those cups! Where did you snag one??

Reply

Ditto!
Love that cup…where’s it from?

Reply

I have a ton of cereal right now… Raisin Bran, Total, Rice Krispies, Kashi Protein Crunch, and I think two more. We are a big cereal-eating family!

No marathons for me yet, but if I get that far, LA will be on my list.

Monday matters were brain fry at work and a great treadmill run (I’m recovering from a stress fracture and every new run is a revelation in how much I love running, even if it is indoors!).

Disney World in my neck of the woods, and favorite treat would have to be the Dole Whip as well… or the Mickey ice creams with the chocolate ears.

Reply

Current favorite cereal: Banana Nut Crunch with banana slices on top! Also Apple Cinnamon Cheerios. Monday matters: BF out of town = finally catching up on The Bachelor – just watched the one from two weeks ago, and these girls are CRAZY. Ashley I. and Kelsey are the current front runners in that category…

I have never run the LA marathon (or any marathon yet), but I’m definitely excited to eventually try some out of state :)

Reply

I always have Shredded wheat (boring) with some kind of delicious crunchy granola mixed in!

Thanks for the squatting article – very interesting!

Reply

St patty’s lucky charms!? I’ve never seen those! Gahhh the brooke at costco picture is absolutely adorable :)

Reply

DL treat-pumpkin spice lattes during the fall but also the matterhorn macaron all year (under 3 bucks!)
WDW treat-hands down macarons from france. i cant wait to try the strawberry and vanilla ice cream sandwich next week

I ran the LAM last year and it is a great course but last year was insanely hot and they ran out of gatorade at mile 2 and I started in the middle of the pack! I am running it again this year because its the 30th anniversary and I want redemption. I also plan on running it next year and it is the olympic trials year (watch trials on saturday and run on sunday) and it is on Valentines Day and what better way to celebrate than running? (my boyfriend disagrees with that statement but I am trying to convince him to run it too haha)

Reply

oh man, i am OBSESSED with cereal. if its in the house, thats what I eat for every meal till the box is done, and i am so sad when it’s all gone….

I live near Donut Man!! And those strawberry donuts are as good as they say! Let me know if you want a care package….. :)

Reply

oh and/or the apple fritter from Randys….. basically any of the LA area shops hahaha

Reply

If you want to try #2, head on out. I’ll be your tour guide!

Reply

I have French Toast Crunch in my cabinet right now…………..it came back after a long abscence! I miss those little pieces of bread! I also love any kind of Cheerios except for the yogurt ones and fruity cheerios…………honey nut, cinnamon, and chocolate cheerios are my favorites!

And I usually don’t eat Disney treats…………even when I worked at Disney World I kinda snuck my own snacks in. As a kid I snuck in jars of baby food bananas…I was weird but they are good! The only thing I cannot resist (and I don’t know if Disneyland even has them, may just be Florida) but the Dole pineapple stands were UNBELIEVABLE. I love pineapple. So much.

Reply

Ooh that cereal package looks so fun!!
