I am reading Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

I’m not very far yet, but I like it so far! The last chocolatey thing I ate was chocolate drizzled kettle corn from Trader Joe’s and it was an amazing, life-changing experience :)

My day: still in bed, must get up…

I guess the weirdest food I have ever eaten is dried cuttlefish. It’s a fairly common food in Asian cultures. I grew up eating it so it doesn’t seem weird to me, but I’m sure it’s probably weird to other people hahahaha.

Reply

Such a good book! The last thing chocolate I ate was a dark chocolate Carmel with sea salt from Trader Joes. I’m rationing them out because they’re so good!

Weird you talk about reading. I just saw that Amazon has a few kid’s e-books for a dollar right now and thought of you. Here’s the link, just search ’25 kids books, $1 each’ on amazon, the link was too long.

I just finished Julie klassens newest novel. I’m a sucker for a regency romance. I also am rereading some of Sheri dews books, because she is awesome. I want to be her friend. Also, David a Bednar’s trio of books are things I’m constantly referencing. I just ordered elder Hollands new book and I’m excited to get it!

This comment makes me sound a eighty. I guess I am inside. (Especially since I hate most of the music “the kids” listen to these days)

The book you’re reading is sooooo good. Sad. But good. I read it years ago and loved it! Great read!

I love the tree displays. So fun and such creativity.

Late start, and I’m shopping after work.

I am all about the straight up chocolate chips from the bag! I also might re-read his other book She’s Come Undone. I remember I really liked it (but can’t remember a thing about it, either).

Six words: I’m so glad it’s almost Friday.

Weirdest thing I’ve eaten: I’m terribly unadventurous with my food. So I guess snails, which is really not that weird.

Brooke is painfully cute!

Reply

That is one of my all time favorite books. I read it so many years ago you were probably a little kid.

I’m reading “All the Light We Cannot See”~ by Anthony Doerr. It’s so so good.

Heading out for a morning run…

I don’t eat weird foods.

There is no way I would not reward that little “pretty please” with whatever she’s asking for. OR a little hug. Too freakin’ cute.

Reply

I read that over the holiday and thought it was fantastic!
Now, I’m thinking about what a good movie it would make.
Any other suggestions? I’m reading And the Mountains Echoed

Reply

I haven’t read that either! Now I’m adding it to my list. It looks SO good. As for books…it totally depends on the books you like.
I really liked Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford, I loved Yes, Please by Amy Poehler on audio so much I asked for it in real book form so I can highlight. But her and I are similar ages and she speaks to so much of how I think. Not My Father’s Son by Alan Cumming and this one seems random but I really liked it…Montana 1948 by Larry Watson. Ugh. So many books. So little time. :)

Reply

-I have about a chapter left of the book Wild by Cheryl Strayed and am going to see the movie that’s coming out this weekend with Reese Witherspoon! My sister and I hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu for 5 days in June so I could very much relate to the book, soooo good!!

-Weirdest thing I’ve ever ate is cow tongue in Ecuador… apparently that is a delicacy! Would not recommend it…

After finishing grad school, I’ve been having a difficult time returning to reading for pleasure. I was a HUGE book nerd my entire life. But going to college and having to read the equivalent of three novels in academic material every week kind of ruined the activity. I am reading a series called “The Breakers” which my husband loaned to me.

Three miniature York Peppermint Patties

The day is just beginning!

Well….my husband and I went to this Chinese restaurant once and asked to order off their authentic menu (which we couldn’t even read). We told them to make us whatever they liked. We received this bowl of random different spicy meats over rice. I’m not sure what they all were, I could only identify some (I know there was something with tentacles). And the spice was like unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. It literally changed the taste of the water I drank.

Reply

My favorite book! Wow she is so cute, I had to watch that video a million times. We need more of them!

Reply

Those trees and the gingerbread house looks amazing!!

Reply

Wow, that gingerbread house (castle?) is incredible! I got into a bag of Hershey’s Kisses last night… I should not be allowed to have chocolate in the house. Trouble.

Reply

I’ve read that too! I liked it. If you’re up for another long book, check out The Goldfinch. I also really liked that one and there are rumors that it will be made into a movie. Right now I am finishing the last Game of Thrones book that I have been slowly working through in hopes that the next one gets published and I can start on that one.

Reply

That ‘pretty please’ was oh so cute!

Your book looks really good but sad! I mainly read very unemotional running and nutrition books as I cry at the drop of a hat. Currently reading ‘Foods that harm – foods that heal’.

Reply

Do you know how long the festival of trees lasts? I would love to take my family :) The last chocolate I ate was a Hershey’s toff nugget, and it was so good! Right now my baby girl is napping, so peace and quiet are the two words that come to mind :) Hopefully I can get some things done while she sleeps!

Reply

I stole a spoonful of my husband’s rolo ice cream last night. Then I remembered I don’t really like rolo ice cream that much.

I haven’t eaten too many weird things. I would say the weirdest is probably cows tongue. So gross. I have tried squid, octopus, eel and oysters but to me those aren’t that weird …

The Storied Life of AJ Fikry- So good. I’m currently trying to read Yes Please by Amy Poehler, but I can’t quite get into it.

And weirdest food? I made shrimp corndogs when I realized we were out of hotdogs last night, haha… but probably guinea pig. I’ll leave it at that, I like not to think about what animal parts I probably ate in Thailand.

Reply

I’ve actually eaten Llama and guinea pig..it’s what they eat in Peru so I wanted to embrace the culture when I went

Reply
