Katie and her friends dressed up as Power Rangers for a 10k!  Halfway through the race she tripped and ended up doing a somersault back up onto her feet!  Everyone that saw it happen said that she looked like she had rehearsed her ninja move!

I love Sarah’s experience!

“The first time I ran in costume was my first half (The Annaka Samurai Marathon in Japan), and that’s when I got hooked on running. The joy in camaraderie and being absolutely ridiculous while sweating it out and pushing yourself to your limit was too much for me to handle – I needed more and I got it. So much more of it”

I hope you loved these all as much as I did.  Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!

I’m the lamest runner ever! I don’t think I’ve ever run in costume! Maybe this is the year to fix that! What fun photographs!

The pic of the gal winking is my favorite! So so adorable! I love Christmas. I think because I feel like I celebrate all month long from the day after Thanksgiving until New Years. I just love it, the music, food and time with family.

I LOVE Run Disney races!! I’ve done three 5Ks and a half-marathon at Disneyland. I’m signed up for another 5K, 10K, and half-marathon in 2015. Disney knows how to throw a great party! They can be super crowded and they sell out really fast, but are so. much. fun!! You should definitely do one! One of the greatest parts of a Run Disney race is wearing your medal to the park and seeing all your fellow runners wearing theirs too. People tell you “good job!” all day long. Made me feel great!

I have done one Disney race, the Expedition Everest Challenge. It takes place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It’s a night race that includes a 5k with obstacles and ends with a scavenger hunt. After you finish the scavenger hunt, there’s an after party which allows you access to a portion of the park and a few of the rides. I did it this year as part of a team with my husband and it was so much fun! I highly recommend it.

I’ve also volunteered at a few of the Walt Disney World races (including the Wine & Dine Half next month!). The one Disney race I REALLY want to do is the WDW Marathon.

I did the Goofy Challenge at Disney World a few years ago. It was fun, but honestly, the marathon is kind of boring. Running thru the parks is great, but family couldn’t get into the park without a ticket, and running between the parks meant there were NO spectators. But I did love seeing all the characters and the parks themselves.

Favorite holiday – Christmas. I love cold weather, the decorations and hot chocolate. The best.

Favorite race distance is the marathon. Sometimes I question my sanity on that, but 99% of the time I would say marathon.

These photos are GREAT!! I love running in costumes, and these runners knocked it out of the park! I ran in a ninja costume once, but didn’t have any sweet sommersault moves going.

My favorite distance is probably 10K. It’s long enough that I don’t have to be too fast, but short enough that I don’t have to do too many long runs to prepare for it.

My favorite holiday is DEFINITELY July 4. My favorite race, the Peachtree Road Race, is a 10K through my city on July 4. It’s such a fun day of running, hanging out, and then we go see fireworks at night. Doesn’t get much better than that!

I did the WDW Marathon in Jan 2013 and it was definitely MAGICAL! My favorite moment was running down mainstreet towards Cinderella’s castle. I loved seeing all the characters along the race course and I can’t forget the awesome DJ who got the runners doing line dances at 4am. Leave it to Disney. The only negative for me was that it is such a HUGE crowd. A lot of elbow-to-elbow running. The average finish time is slower than other races though so you would be way up front if you ran it. Definitely a bucket list race worth experiencing.

Disney races are amazing. Let me know when you have decided on doing a Disney race! I would love to help you plan your trip!

I ran the Disney Princess Half as the Black Swan – definitely the only Black Swan there that day! :) It was so much fun and a very enjoyable flat course!

This looks so fun! I love costumes.

I’m running my first marathon next week (the Marine Corps) but maybe a race at WDW should go on a list for upcoming races.

My favorite race distance is a 10k. Anyone have a favorite in the NYC area?

My favorite holiday is Christmas, I love the decorations, the music and the family traditions. It’s just so much fun!

My absolute favorite race distance is the half marathon. I’m more into longer runs, 5ks just hurt SO bad!

My Husband and I have done the Wine and Dine half marathon in 2013 and just did the Disneyland half marathon in August. We are signed up for the 2014 Wine and Dine and the 2015 Disney World half marathon (he’s crazy and doing the Goofy challenge so he’ll also be running a full marathon the day after our half).

We love doing these races (but we also love Disney!). They are expensive but the shirts, medals, and experience are all really great. I have to admit though that the Disney World race was more fun than the Disneyland race mostly because it is all on Disney property so the course entertainment and character experiences are better. Disneyland race ran mostly through Anaheim so less exciting. If you want a super cool experience, do the Disney World marathon in January as it runs through all four theme parks! :-)

I ran the Walt Disney World Half Marathon as my first half in 2012. My sister and I loved it so much, we went back in 2013 to run the Disney Princess Half (Dressed as princesses) and a 5k (Dressed as Tinker Bell and Periwinkle). It’s fun to run through the parks and see all the characters out on the course! I hope to go back and run another one someday!

Great costume ideas! I really hope to do a Disney race one day! My favorite distance is probably half marathon.

These look awesome! I got a 5k and a 10 k in the upcoming weeks and I’m going dressed as the TARDIS! I can’t wait to get pictures :)

Oh eeee! Everyone is so adorable! Getting inspired!
My favorite distance is the half for sure…5k is painful lol
Haven’t done a disney race yet…considering a Vegas half in Jan my friend said it starts at midnight?! Crazy fun. Or just crazy.

13.1 will always have my heart. If there was a 13th month I’d probably get married on the first day of it so my anniversary would be 13.1.

The ladies dressed up as minions are my favorite!

I was supposed to do my first Disney half marathon in January but because of a recent hip surgery, I have to defer to 2016. I can’t wait to run a Disney race!
Great costumes!

Aww thanks for using my bunny pic.
Loved the rainbow finishers!!!
Yep 13.1 is my favorite distance.

I ran the Disnelyand 1/2 marathon in 2011 and it was the most fun I’ve ever had on a run! I can’t wait to do another one and one of these days I want to do the Coast to Coast challenge for the. A race in Florida and a race in California ;-)

What cute pictures of everyone!!!

I did the Princess Half this year and dressed up as Minnie! Although I have to admit I ditched my mouse ears around mile 5 because they just wouldn’t stay still! They were made of really soft foam and kept sliding off my head.

I am thinking about signing up for a Halloween race so I can re-use my cute red polka dot running skirt, I just need to get another pair of minnie mouse ears that stay in place!

These are so fun!

My favorite holiday is by far Christmas! I go home every year and get to see my family

have you ever been told that you look like that main character on black list? liz? she looks soooo much like you!!

Omg!! I love these!! Now I want to sign up for a Disney race :)

I did the Wilmington Marathon in 2006 and there was a guy there running in pink tights, pink sneakers, and pink tutu. He said that he lost a bet. Well 7 years later I did the half and there he was still running this thing in the same outfit! It is no where near Halloween. Meh just continues the tradition. That is not an easy marathon either!

This was such a fun post!

I think my favorite distance is definitely the half! I’ve never run a ten miler, but that would probably be a good one too!

Reply

Disney race = awesome sauce! We did the Disney Dumbo Double Dare :) A 10K on Sat and a 1/2 on Sun. So cool!

Reply

I got to the Ralph and Vannelope costumes and then, I had to stop and watch Wreck it Ralph for like the 900th time. I Love that movie and what a great idea for a costume!

Reply

I did the Disney Princess Half Marathon a few years ago in FL. It was so much fun. I wouldn’t worry about time though, part of the fun is stopping to see the characters and take pictures in front of the iconic buildings.

Reply

These costume ideas are great – currently trying to decide if I should run in my first costume race ever on the 25th. But… sometimes we have snow by then, and that doesn’t sounds so fun. So we’ll see.

Fave distance is the 5K. So easy to fit in the training between my job, kids, etc., and it feels awesome when I can shave time off of such a short distance.

My friend is doing her first disney race with me in January and I said, “pace is negotiable, but costumes are strictly non-negotiable and not optional so start working on it.”

Reply

Thank you so much for including me here :) All of these costumes are adorable and are making me want to sign up for a Halloween race ASAP!

I love all of the costumes, so fun! Especially that last one – Doraemon (the blue costume with the mask) is one of my favorite Japanese characters!

MORE COSTUME POSTS PLEASE!!!
There isn’t Halloween in my country so I would love to see more of your costume runs.

I love this post! I have done a good number of Disney races (DL half 2 times, Dumbo-10k + half-2 times, Princess half 1, glass slipper challenge-10k+half-1 time, tink half 3 times) and am currently signed up for so many more (wine and dine half in 3 weeks, avengers half the week after, Dopey (5k,10k,half,full) in Jan, Star Wars Rebel Challenge (10k+half), princess 5k (frozen theme-i couldnt resist!), glass slipper challenge (10k+half) in Feb, pixie challenge (10k +half) in May). They are expensive and they sell out fast but I have never had more fun! The costumes are so much fun (and I always dress up!), the pictures are great and the crowd support is just awesome! who doesnt want to run down main street towards the castle? or ride a roller coaster in the middle of a marathon?

all the time i used to read smaller articles that as well
clear their motive, and that is also happening with this paragraph which I
