I need your HALLOWEEN running costume pictures!

The time to run races dressed in Halloween costumes is drawing near.  Running races is a blast and when you add in seeing everyone in their amazing costumes as they are running a race… Even better.

I was hoping that I could get you to send in any pictures that you have of you running a race in a Halloween costume (or any race that you wore a costume for) to me so that I can post them.  This will help us to smile (because who doesn’t love seeing running Halloween costumes) and it may help if you need any ideas for this year’s Halloween running costumes!

Send pictures to [email protected] and let me know if you want me to include a link to your blog if you have one!

From last year… I am very happy that my 1/2 marathon pr was accomplished in a pirate outfit.

And from 3 years ago.  The amount of time that my sister and I spent individually gluing on every piece of crate paper is kind of embarrassing.

We got home from the airport at about 3ish yesterday and spent a lot of time cuddling on the couch and talking with my mom.  Yes, I still need to desperately wash my hair.

My dad went and picked apples and gave me this huge box.  Day made.  As you know, an apple and almond butter are part of my daily life.

Back to teaching spin!  I took last week off (because I was gone) and so it felt nice to be back in a room full of bikes, fans and random decorations on the stereo.

My favorite songs that I played from last night:

Animals by Maroon 5

Bang Bang by Ariana Grande

Beat It by Fall Out Boy

Timber by Pitbull—>  I cannot get enough of this song.

You HAVE TO READ Katie’s marathon recap asap!  She is so beyond incredible and inspirational!  HUGE CONGRATS!!!

I am super excited to tell you that I get to be part of Stonyfield’s 2015 Boston Marathon Team!  I am already looking forward to start training for the marathon at the end of December (I get to work with Megan Searfoss ((Run Like A Mother)) for my training plan)!

Meet my new sweatshirt that I will wear every night of my life this winter as I sit on my couch and blog:)

I saw that you were part of the Stonyfield team Janae and you truly deserve that, congrats!

I was in shock (and mostly just plain amazed) when you ran your half last year in the pirate costume and then PRed. It was truly amazing! I hope you are able to PR again :-). Are you running the race again?

That is the funniest/cutest pumpkin picture :)

My kids are, in age order from oldest to youngest: a witch, raspberry from strawberry shortcake, and Jake from Jake and the neverland pirates. Also I don’t feel like a real runner now since I’ve never run in costume!

Also I’m boring and eat eggs every day. Bacon a close second.

Reply

I love that pic of Brooke. That is her mamas face lol. So excited for all your accomplishments.
I am running Snow Canyon the day after Halloween.

Reply

Oh my…that picture of Brooke. The pigtails, the expression…adorable :) Cant wait for you to run Boston…I mean, cant wait for you to sub 3 at Boston. Ive got a good feeling!

Reply

Hahaha…that picture of Brooke is a classic! This time of year I eat apples everyday. During the summer I generally have strawberries at least once a day. And chocolate. I have that everyday year-round! Chocolate needs no season!

Reply

I follow Katie’s blog and was so inspired by her run…incredible!!
I’ve never done a costume run, but item looks like a blast!
I eat strawberries on my salad for lunch almost every day, drink a green smoothie for breakfast, and I always have some nut butter…mmmmm:)

Reply

Hahaha that picture of Brooke is SOOOOO funny/cute!!!! Priceless face expression.

I’ve never ran in a costume race, but sounds fun! Love that you got a PR in a pirate costume.

Congrats on running with the Stonyfield Boston Marathon team!! That is sooo cool. You are quite amazing Janae!

Reply

That is the cutest picture in the world!

Reply

Brooke’s face! HAHAH I love it.

I can’t ever get enough of Timber either!??

I am running a Halloween-themed half marathon in two weeks ahhhH! Costumes are encouraged but I am boring as all get out, so I am simply wearing orange and black. I trial’d the outfit the other day and I just look like a soccer player. HAH!

Reply

Congrats on being sponsered! That is my mom’s favorite brand of yogurt.

Everyday eats: Apple, Salad, Cereal.

Reply

I have never run a Halloween themed race before but I feel like I should because I have my Minnie Mouse costume from when I ran the Disney Princess Half earlier this year! I need to find one to sign up for!!!

Congrats on being on the Stoneyfield team! Really excited for you to get to finally run Boston!

Reply

I don’t think I ever ran in costume. But last Easter I did a training run and wore bunny ears and a tail. I’ll send the pic.
I eat cheese practically every day. Lol. Not the best staple I suppose.

Reply

It’s crazy that I’ve been reading the blog for over 3 years! I remember when you had a contest for candy on which could guess your piñata costume!! :)

Reply

OMG that face and those eyebrows!!! Love it! Makes me miss so badly when my girls were that small :(
My 7 year old is going to be Mavis from Hotel Transylvania and my 9 year old is going to be “Madeline Hatter” from the Ever After High books….. I think I eat eggs every day :)

Reply

Girlfriend, glad you enjoyed the post:)) Thanks for sharing! Glad to hear about Boston! Would love to actually meet you one of these days!!! I live close enough,(1.5 hours) so I usually just go up that morning. Sounds like you had a blast in CA last week….keep it up lady, with the smart, steady training – big things will come!
xoxo

OH MY GOODNESS, that last picture is adorable!!

I have never run a race in a costume but I think I might have to now! It looks so fun!

Reply

I have never been…brave…is that the right word?…enough to run in a costume! I’m always afraid that stuff will fly off, that I won’t have as much fun as I should, putting the run over the fun, etc. I think after racing a TON this year, maybe I can let go of some of that competitive spirit and just have funsies!

Apple and Greek yogurt for me, every day!:)

Reply

I want to go apple picking so bad! I don’t know of anywhere that has any left to pick.

My twins are going to be Peter Pan and Tinkerbell and the baby will be Tiger Lily. As long as they’ll let me, I’ll be coordinating them!! Last year they were Popeye and Olive Oyl..my favorite ever.

I’ve always wanted to do the haunted half but just haven’t had the opportunity.

Reply

I think you should dress up as sonic because you’re so fast. :)

Reply

Aha that picture of Brooke is priceless, so funny!! My little sister is going to be a cupcake, she’s 16 months so this is the first proper Halloween for her :) I eat an apple every single day with my lunch and I eat oatmeal with peanut butter for breakfast pretty much every day besides the weekends! I’m the most boring person for weekday meals, I have the same breakfast and lunch almost every single day!

Reply

I have yet to run a race in costume. I chafe so easily that knowing my luck I would have a miserable run. Who knows what the future holds though! I have rice cakes with almond butter almost everyday. Oh and a banana either by itself or in a smoothie.

Reply

My girls ( 7 and almost 4) will be Anna and a cat. I love, love, love that my 3 year old is not obessed with princess stuff. She at first wanted to be Elsa to match her sister and she already looks the part with her almost white blonde long hair but her meow meow love won out. She wants me to make the costume now, we are moving Friday!!! I have other things on my mind!!

Reply

I love that picture of Brooke at the pumpkin patch! I have never run in a costume, I worry it would be too uncomfortable!

Reply

I eat 2 apples every day. The obsession is very real.

Halloween this year = a men’s Batman onsie from Target because it’s so comfy and leaves room for optimal candy consumption.

Kid’s costume = Ms. Peacock from the game Clue! =)

Reply

Running in a costume is so much fun! It’s all part of the experience and really helps get you into the holiday spirit :)

Reply

I never dress up for Halloween. My birthday is two days after it and growing up I always had some sort of Halloween themed birthday party. It was overkill and made me dislike the holiday. I really can’t ever image trying to partake. Must have been the bad memories of all the birthday haunted houses!

Reply

I’ll admit, I tried to find you on the entry list for Boston and when I didn’t see you, I was a little worried you had decided not to run. You HAVE to run Boston!!! I’ll be rooting for you.

Reply

Such an adorable photo of Brooke! My 5-year-old is going to be Elsa from Frozen, and my 2-year-old is going to be Minnie Mouse.

Reply

I love Halloween and running in costumes, (last year I ran as a Sailor). I’m not sure if I’ll get to run this year as we have family in town but I am dressing up as an alligator attack victim. My fur baby dachshund is going as the gator that got me, bwahahahah

Reply

LOVE the picture of Brooke! It made me crack up.
I have only run in a costume once. Black cat. Boring.
Congrats on Stoneyfield sponsorship–GREAT product! They have a FULL fat yogurt for babies–if you taste it you will never want the reduced fat again. My kids eat all the cream off the top.
What do I eat everyday–baby spinach, can’t get enough.
Halloween costumes…oldest=none, he will be handing out candy this year, my daughters are dressing as spies…

Reply

That is the best picture of Brooke EVER. Please save that for her high school yearbook picture!

Reply

Normally I run a race called “Rattle me bones” and you are strongely encouraged to run in costume – I’ve run as Batgirl and in a banana suit (I PB’d the 5K in that banana suit!). But sadly the race was cancelled for this year (they had a death in one of their road cycling events). Next year!

Max has only dressed up for halloween once and sadly this year he is not dressing up again. We will be in the car going to NYC on halloween :-(

Reply

Best part of your blog today? The picture of Brooke with her pumpkin! Oh and my daughter is going as a mermaid. And apparently she thinks I will have to carry her or pull her in a wagon because she won’t be able to walk with her fin ;) and yes she knows it has leg holes! Oh the mind of a four year old!

Reply

Brooke is the cutest! Makes me want one of my own ;)
I’ve never done a halloween run, but I’d be worried about wearing a costume. I’m really OCD about my running-ware.
I eat eggs in some form every day! Just a tad obssessed…

Reply

I eat eggs in some form every.single.day. It’s kind of a problem. Hahaha!

Reply

Tinkerbell!!

Reply

I love that picture! So cute..I am afraid that my son has hit the age where costumes are no longer cool. Where does the time go?

Reply

I have never done a costume run before. I would probably do one if it was a shorter distance, but I couldn’t imagine running 13 miles in a costume. Way to PR as a pirate!!

One food I eat almost every day is Greek yogurt. I always have one first thing in the morning for breakfast.

Reply

Oh my gosh! Brooke looks so cute / grown up in that pumpkin picture!! I’m in a similar boat… I’m trying to figure out what costume to run in! For christmas, my daughter and I are doing a jingle bell run and she is going to be a candy cane! So excited!

Reply

Her facial expression in that picture… priceless!

Reply

It’s my daughter’s 1st Halloween, and she’s going to be a strawberry. My mom gave her the funniest CPK wig though, so she may need to have two costumes and be a CPK for some activities!

Reply

I love that picture of Brooke.. too funny! Apple & peanut butter 5 days a week!

Reply

Harlow is going to be a fancy cat for Halloween (assuming I can finish the costume properly!).

I pretty much eat the same things day in and day out, so… yeah. I’m super boring in the food department. I need to try to branch out.

I LOVE Brooke’s face in that photo. So cute! So much personality!

Reply

I’ve never done a Halloween race, but I did dress as tinker bell for the tinker bell half marathon back in January :D

Reply

Bahahaha I love that last photo of Brooke. Too funny! She’s the cutest.

Hunter is going to be a cowboy for Halloween this year! I think it’ll be cute. I found him some miniature Wranglers, a belt with a big ol’ buckle, and boots! :)

Thing I eat everyday: peanut butter in some way, shape, or form!

Reply

I’ll send you my halloween running costume from awhile back. Oh, this Stonyfield team sounds so fun! I’m guessing you applied for it somewhere? See, it’s things like this that I miss out on these days with my major absence from blog land! But I’m registered for Boston so if the tickets come together at a reasonable price, I should be there. I hope to meet you finally!!

Reply

Are you going to be in New Hampshire to visit the Stonyfield factory when you come to Boston? We live near there (a few towns over), it’s a beautiful time of year to visit.

My daughter is going to be a ladybug for Halloween. My mom bought her the costume last year.

Reply

Oh, that face!! She is so stinking cute! I’d say she’s the cutest, but I’m dating a man with kids now so I’ve got to let them have top bidding. :)

Reply

Please leave her hair down in ponytails like that more often!! She looks like a little girl, more age appropriate, and an added bonus – lots more like you!!

Reply

I have never done a race in a Halloween costume. I did do once Christmas race with striped knee socks, a santa hat and bells that annoyed me to death after .1 miles. Brooke is adorable. I’m living in china and there are these sweet rice balls that perfect after a run

Reply

That picture of Brooke is too cute!

I’m excited to hear about you train for Boston. I’m ready to live vicariously! I’ve done five marathons and I’m too chicken to try another one so I’m resigned to living the rest of my life watching others do them.

Reply

No Halloween race for me this year. I’ll be on my honeymoon-ahh, so excited!! I’m not good at running in costumes.

Reply

That may be my favorite picture of Brooke ever. It’s hysterical.

Congratulations on your new team! And on having Miss Brooke back with you. ::happydance::

Reply

ha- Brooke’s face made me laugh! Love the pigtails too :) I believe I was minnie mouse at that same age- I wore the costume pretty much everyday for like 6 months I think.

Reply

Brooke made my day lol! Her and my daughter would so get eachother lol
Wish I’ve run a Halloween run past years have always been while my boys play soccer but this year I think I’ll be able to can’t wait to see pics!
Very cool about being on a team! Can’t wait to watch Boston.
I’ve read Katie’s blog before… she did it?! Can’t even imagine!

Reply

ahhhhh brooke is SO cute in that picture! You def have to keep that pic forever :)

Reply

Brookes face in that picture! Adorable!

Reply

Hi there! Love that pic of your little lady. I eat a lot of foods regularly, because when you know what you like, eat it. Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, apples, bananas, trail mix to name a few. All delicious and healthy snacks. I’ve never run in a costume before, so I can’t help you out there!

Reply

I have zombies this year. Zombie cheerleader and a regular frightening zombie. I have never run in costume. I am worried about it not working like running clothes and not enjoying the race because of it.

Reply

THAT FACE! Oh my gosh. That picture is priceless!

Reply

Those pinata costumes are the best. So is that picture of Brooke with the pumpkin!!!

Reply

Ahhh that pumpkin picture! Perfection. I eat avocado most days. And I drink chai tea every single morning.

Reply

Wait…so Stonyfield is the new thing? I thought we were all pumped about Chobani? I’m sooooo out of the loop :(

I’ve yet to race in a costume which is kind of weird because I love Halloween and costumes. This year I’ll have a Vetruvius (from Lego Movie), a Katniss in a mockingjay dress with wings (if we get our act together), a Tinkerbell or a cat (she’s not sure), and either Ned Stark, Emmett (Lego Movie again) but dressed as StarLord (Guardians of the Galaxy) because they were both played by Chris Pratt (this kid always has “special” ideas), or Pope Prius the First or Pope Eggs Benedict (more “specialness”).

Reply

Ah I love the picture of Brooke at the end! She is such a doll :) This year me and my little family are all being lumberjacks. It should be fun! I feel like I generally eat a salad of some sort almost every single day! So good!

Reply

Oh my GOSH! That picture is AMAZING. I have 7 nieces and nephews and is it terrible to say that I think Brooke wins as the CUTEST child on earth???

Congrats on being on the Stonyfield team. Super cool!

I had to share Katie’s recap on my blog post yesterday too. Beyond inspired!

Reply

Best timing for a picture EVER! Not sure about Halloween this year I am going to be just getting back from California so I haven’t thought about it yet!! Broccoli or sweet potatoes. They are both very regular in my diet!

Reply

LOVE that picture! And yes, I read about Katie and her incredible marathon PR.
Food I eat everyday is a nut butter (usually PB).
Have a fantasical day!

Reply

I plan on making this cape into a skirt. https://twitter.com/RunInBoise/status/510626233537683457 I have a witches hat to wear too. The BF wants to go as an Egyptian Pharaoh & I thought it would be cute to match, so my skirt plans may change.

Reply

Best pumpkin picking picture ever. Yay for a box of apples. We just went apple picking last weekend and had so much fun. Congratulations on the Stonyfield team! I would so love to run a costume run or zombie run. Maybe next year.

Reply

Yum I’m so excited to go apple picking and get a big box like that! :) And those pinata costumes were so great!

xo

Reply

You look a great in that pirate costume! It’s not very original, but my baby girl is going as a cat for Halloween.

I eat oats, and nut butter pretty much every day. Yum.

Reply

That picture of Brooke is amazing. Thanks for making me laugh today :)

Reply

THAT PICTURE OF BROOKE. LOVE LOVE LOVE <3 <3 <3

Reply

LOVE the pigtails!!!!

PS- Sooooo glad you’re home!

Reply

Oh my gosh, that picture of Brooke!! It’s definitely a keeper, one to pull out when she’s graduating from high school or getting married :)

Foods I eat on a nearly daily basis = banana, some kind of nut butter, and carrots.

Reply

I’ve never run a race before in a Halloween costume, but I have taught a couple fitness classes in them. I sweat so much – I destroy anything I have on. #futile

I have been eating a peanut butter (crunchy) and jelly (grape) sandwich nearly every week day for the last 3 months. It makes me incredibly happy!

Reply

I eat chocolate every single day. If I don’t plan it in (like with a protein shake, bar, or just some chips in my Greek yogurt) I’ll feel deprived and wind up binging later.
We’re doing a family superhero theme for Halloween this year. My daughter is catwoman I’m wonder woman, and my husband is Thor. Yep- we’re those people

Reply

I love the pumpkin pic, i love the look on Brookes face, totally gorgeous. For religious reasons i and my children dont believe in halloween, i wont go into it here but i am against it totally. Hope you have a great day.

Reply

Love the pictures of you and Brooke cuddling on the couch, I can just imagine how good it feels for her to be back in your arms, as well as it feels good for you too. But that last picture of Brooke just is sooooo adorable, her personality is so awesome.

Congratulations on being apart of the Stonybrook team. And the sweatshirt is so cute. Their yogurt is pretty good. The food that I each just about every day is a piece of chocolate from Lindt Lindor along with my morning coffee. Just love it, sometimes it the thing that gets me out of bed and going :)

Reply

Haha these outfits are amazing! Not sure Halloween races is such a big thing here but I’m totally going to keep my eyes peeled now!

I adore that picture of Brooke – one to be framed fo sho.
It’s amazing that you PR’d in a pirate costume!
I’m also a huge fan of eating apples with almond butter every day – best snack ever hands down. I also have to have my morning coffee and a couple of cups of green tea too :)

Reply

Unless you count dressing up as a runner, I’ve never run in a costume. Seems uncomfortable.
That picture of Brooke is awesome!

Reply

That pic of Brooke = perfection! :)

Reply

I adore that picture of Brooke!! & huge Congrats on being a part of that team!

Reply

<3 that picture of Brooke.

V is going to be an angry bird, I bought it on clearance a few years ago…thankfully he doesn't understand the thought process of buying one before the event, but one in the closet

Reply

Oh my gosh, THAT PICTURE OF BROOKE!!! I have two daughters, but I think that picture is my new favorite, and she’s not even mine!!! :)

Also, love the piñata costumes!

This is probably the last year that we can do entire family costumes (because next year my youngest I’m sure will have her own and different opinion than her big sister). So we let my four year old pick the theme which means…. Frozen (shocking, I know). My oldest will be Elsa, my two year old Anna, Dad will be Kristoff, I get to be Olaf, and antlers on the dog for Sven ;) I haven’t started making the costumes yet, I’ve got a lot if work to do!!!!

Reply

Brooke’s face!!! =D That pic is priceless.

Reply

I have never done a race in fancy dress and actually don’t think there is any here in England. Halloween is not that big here but that said i have a witches costume this year as we are going to Centre Parcs for Halloween weekend.
I eat egg for breakfast everyday at the moment as i am doing the whole 30, day 17!!!

Reply

Brooke and her pumpkin is the CUTEST picture i have seen all…week? month? I can’t compare.. she’s adorable!

Reply

Congratulations – excited to hear about all your training for Boston! I’m going to be having a lot of the same over on my blog.

Reply

Ahhh Brooke has the cutest face in that picture!!! Great costume ideas. I feel so uncreative… I have no suggestions for this years halloween! I have always wanted to dress up as food of some sort and then run around town. Like a pancake or something :)

Reply

That last photo of Brooke is too funny!!

Love her!! Brooke looks like Cara Delevingne in that photo!
