The fam came over to party.

I don’t know if you have noticed yet but Brooke is my world.  I love this little girl more than I ever thought possible.  Celebrating her birthday has been so much fun and reflecting on our memories together over the last 2 years has been really incredible

The family came over for dinner, presents, cake and a piñata (ummm we didn’t have a bat/stick so we ended up just kicking it open).  Brooke loved having everyone over to her pad.

I’ll let the million pictures do most of the talking because I stayed up way too late last night cleaning my kitchen because I don’t think it is physically possible for me to fall asleep with a messy kitchen.

The amazing PAIGE made Brooke’s BEAUTIFUL birthday cake.  I could not get over how amazing it was.  She made the cake with Fondarific and she sells it HERE (Flavor My Fondant)!  This fondant tastes SOOO good (normal fondant doesn’t..) and there are 14 different flavors/colors to choose from!  It is so easy to use so that you can make those awesome cakes that you see on Pinterest yourself!

family time is the best time :) I miss the big gatherings we use to have with our family when we lived in NY – sadly a weekly day trip from CO to NY to have Sunday dinner with the fam is not really reasonable.

Looks like you had a very successful birthday party for Brooke. Kicking a pinata is the traditonal way of opening it, right? If you have any leftover desserts, feel free to ship them to me. :D Have a great Wednesday!

When you said the comment about 2 years its so crazy to me because I remember when you had her and I started reading long before that (I think right after you found out you were pregnant). It’s weird how I feel like I know you, but I have never even met you! Sorry that probably sounds creepy but I promise I mean it in the best way possible :) SO happy for you and Brooke and you guys just look like you’re in such a great place right now! Love it!

It looks like her birthday was a blast! Lucky girl got several days of celebrating………….the way all birthdays should be! Hee hee! I have never been to Thanksgiving Point but it looks cool! Pinatas are fun…………I had one from Disney World when I was 7 or 8 and it would not break! We had to take it off the string and set in on the ground and beat the poor donkey piñata to death to get it to bust open!

Have a great week!

Reply

I hope all her birthday wishes come true! Love the ingenuity with the piñata!

That looks quite a party! The cake is gorgeous, also. I don’t know if I would ever attempt to actually use fondant (sounds like a personal meltdown waiting to happen) but I am super impressed with people who can turn it into gorgeous things like those sweet roses on Brooke’s cake.

I must be PMSing because this post made me all teary eyed! I also have really bad baby fever lately and I’m just dying to be a mom, so maybe that’s part of it.

It looks like you all had a wonderful celebration. :) And that cake…. just AMAZING.

Reply

Looks like a great party! Ah piñatas… The one we got for Girlie’s 2nd birthday must’ve been intended as a decoration, not for actually using. After all the kids had taken multiple swings with a baseball bat we handed the bat to my nephew (varsity baseball player at the time) and he had to really work to get it to break!

Reply

You have such a beautiful family!

Awwww these pictures are amazing! Everyone looks so happy- especially you & Brooke :)

The picture of her with closed eyes blowing out the candles is freaking the most precious thing I’ve ever seen!!

I got my boyfriend a piñata for his birthday on August 5. Yeah, he’s 37. He and his coworkers LOVED it. Sooo therapeutic! (Think of the scene from Office Space where they are kicking the crap out of the printer!)

I love that picture of Brooke making a wish!!

Awww- what a fun birthday party. I have a few memories of life before I turned 3, so it’s fun that she’s entering an age where she’ll start remembering things too!

I swear, parenthood gets better and better each year. At least certain aspects of it do. :)

I always wonder what little kids wish for when they wish too! I bet the wishes are hysterical.

Excuse me but when did Curly grow up so much and get such long hair?? These kids need to stop growing! I love watching them grow up though. Congrats to your sister also! Happy Birthday sweet Brooke.

My grandma and grandpa had 12 kids, 2 girls and 10 boys. I don’t even know (before they passed) how many grandkids and great grandkids there were. But there was a A LOT! My grandparents didn’t have much, but we would eat sunday dinner at their house, plus it would be base for any special occasion. The picture of your fam eating on the floor brought back so many memories. I have tons and tons of pictures of all us kids eating on the floor of my grandparents house…and because there were alot, we were basically touching elbows =). Thanks for the pics!

Reply

Glad she had a wonderful birthday. The picture of Brooke closing her eyes, blowing out the candle is adorable!

I’ve never done a full marathon, but for my half marathons, I usually max out at 12 miles for my long run. I’m running a half tomorrow!
