One Sentence Per Picture

Pump class followed by hanging out on my really good friend’s porch saying goodbye before he moves to California= boo.  (Okay, 2 sentences for this one)  Brooke is really fascinated by her foot and continually shows it off as much as possible.

Brooke had a snow cone before going to the park, memories when you are a kid of snow cone eating during the summer is pretty important.

One of my favorite parts about holidays is dressing Brooke up to match whatever holiday it may be (from HERE) .

No plans for me today. I feel like the ultra lamer but that’s what happens when everyone goes out of town hahaha. Plus with the hurricane all the fireworks are delayed until tomorrow (which works out better for me anyways).

Looks like you are having a great time Janae!

Walking an easy 4 miler this morning and meeting a blogger buddy for the first time! I’m so excited!!! First race since injury and meeting a blogger friend who I never knew was following me. I was one of his influencers for starting his blog. It’s an awesome feeling when you know you reached someone. Happy 4th!

It’s my last day of vacation for this week! I’m about to go running, not sure how far because it’s 80 with 100% humidity- and I hate humidity.
We will do the usual though- parade, fireworks, hopefully a nap

I love that dress!!! I think I need to go ahead and order 2..for my twins next summer! Ugh, I wish I was running in one of the many races going on today. Instead, my pregnancy and job have me stuck teaching 8 group ex classes.

2 girls? That’s so exciting. All the best with your pregnancy.

Oh my gosh, that dress is so cute! Does it come in adult sizes? :-)

Nothing too exciting planned for today…. it’s gonna rain all day so we might see a movie. But this weekend will include beach, sun, friends + family!

Happy Fourth!

I’m about to go do a track workout and then I’m thinking a burrito for lunch! ;)
Happy Fourth, Janae! Hope you and Brooke have an amazing day!

Oh I love that quote so much. Must remember that! Have a great weekend, I used to love dressing my girls in holiday themes when they were little! Now my 3 year old son would probably love a red white and blue dress (sister influence) but we’ll be sticking with his “boy clothes” today :)

There are so many things about this post that bring back memories from my childhood…snow cones, jelly sandals, jumping off swings. That dress is so adorable! I hope you guys have a great weekend!!

Brooke’s dress is the cutest! We’re going to a cookout this evening but other than that we’ll probably spend the day packing. Have a great July 4th!

I’m running a really fun race called the Creemore Vertical Challenge! It’s a trail race with climbs so steep you need a rope to get up and at the end, you can swim in the river and finishers receive hand made pottery and maple syrup. I LOVE niche races.

Happy fourth of July!!!

no plans. i deliberately decided to spend my long weekend alone and without comittment to anyone and now i’m regretting it lol! Well I do have a BBQ I was invited to later today so perhaps I’ll go. It’s a rest day for me today but tomorrow hopefully 8 miles easy training run. For now i’m just enjoying my coffee and my dog and my sofa and some music.

Have a lovely day.

The plan was to possibly run a four mile race this morning but I decided against it yesterday based upon weather forecast. I ran 6 miles in my neighborhood instead.

Hi Janae,

Happy 4th! I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks and it’s really great! I just wanted to say hi. I’m a runner so we’re inherently similar. I was wondering what your base training plans were? I recently had to reboot my running due to being over zealous and decided to take a base training approach using the Maffetone Method aka HR training just to keep me in a safe aerobic zone. I don’t know if you’ve heard of it or tried something like it but I thought I’d bring it up!

I love Brooke’s dress!! Hope you’re having a great day.

Did an easy 3 miles this morning with the hubs. We are spending our 4th with our best friends in TX. Last year they came out to Cali to visit us. I guess this is our new tradition :) The hubs is smoking a brisket today. He’s never smoked anything and he’s never made brisket, so this should be interesting.

I’m going to my grandparents’ house after running a speed workout :) Still not sure what the food plan is, but it will be yummy :)

All of our Fourth of July traditions went out the door and were replaced when my daughter was born on July 3, 2006. Now the big day is the 3rd and we spend the 4th pretty low key. We’ll hit up a cookout or two, maybe watch some fireworks. We generally buy some fireworks and do them on the 3rd but it’s been rainy here so maybe tonight or tomorrow. (They’re legal here in Live Free or Die land)

I have had to completely take off from everything this week including running and strength training. Battling two sore knees that just won’t quit and a terrible, monstrous, disgusting sinus infection that knocked me out until I got my essential oils out and took them.

So, I was a little bummed to not do a 4th of July run…but I know there are other 4th of July runs in the future…

We’re headed to a hotel overnight for fireworks watching from the balcony. The kids are super excited.

I love that quote!!! We don’t have any traditions..I think we’ll
End up staying home bc supposedly we might have a hurricane coming through! Eek!!

I ran a 4 mile race this morning and it was great! I achieved my goal, so I’m satisfied. Now I’m relaxing before going to work later.
Enjoy your day!

Ohhh I love Brooke’s dress!!! I do the same with my kids. My boys I got em captain America shirts with just the logo star and my daughter a super cute dress too. Going to have a block party with a bike parade we are making tacos hot dogs and a big potluck of food. My friend who does desserts will bring the best I’m sure it’s a surprise! 4 miles today for the 4th!

My nephew (he turned 1 in May) is also obsessed with one of his little feet (also known as his stinky foot… He thinks it’s hilarious). He has to put it up when he’s eating, sitting down, in the car seat, you name it!

I LOVE that quote at the end! I’ve been dealing with sore legs all week (overly ambitious workout on Tuesday!) and today, when biking with my 4-year-old on the back AND uphill, I really wanted to quit, but didn’t. It feels great to do hard things!

Reply

No firm plans yet, maybe a pool party then some fireworks at some point in the evening. Brooke’s foot cracks me up!

Reply

That picture with her foot in the air! Her expression! She is so. cute.

Today’s my husband’s only day off work this week so… I ran this morning, not long but fast and wasn’t feeling great so A for effort. I need to learn how to say “no” when I don’t feel well. My mom postponed her visit, so… I’m resting. Eating treats. No traditions. We have a pool but hubs isn’t done treating it and a grill that’s out of propane. Not to mention a 4 yr old who gets super grumpy in the heat. 15 minute intervals of running around, then cooling off. I did try to take some family photos… I do not know what possessed me… I totally learned my lesson.

No races for me! Cupcakes for me, though. Yes.

Best thing I’m going to eat today… fried chicken and the above mentioned cupcake. :) Happy 4th!!

Rainy weather in NYC has canceled most of the outdoor plans so I’m hanging out at home watching World Cup. So happy today is a game day.
Also, yesterday I announced my vegetarian decision so today is Day 2. It helps that I’m home so I have more control over what I eat. I’m making up for the BBQ chicken with delicious veg baked beans and mac n cheese and lots of fruits and salads. Pics on the blog http://runwright.net

Haha! It’s a holiday today so you get a pass on your “sentence” structure. Nice play. 4 mile 4th of July race. Got to wear my stars and stripes inknburn and ProCompression. Winning…watermelon ice pops!

I sent my 17 year old son to Thailand yesterday. So I didn’t sleep until I heard from him today. No stress there. Three weeks. He’ll be home in three weeks.

I was going to run a race but life got in the way.

And I’ve only eaten one thing…scrambled eggs and avocado with salsa. I could live on that please.

Reply

Also…my goodness that little face when she shows you her foot! Love it.

I didn’t find about the race this morning until after it happened. Boo. It was a beautiful morning for a run. We sat around eating crabs most of the afternoon. There is no better way to spend the 4th of July :)

Well as an Aussie I don’t really celebrate 4th July but my kids’ supervising therapist is American and my favourite person in the world after my family. I always wish her a happy 4th of July and find out what she got up to. Without Americans and what they have done for Autism treatment I hate to think where my boys would be at today.
But I am eating lots of delicious food today – I’m going to high tea with my beautiful Mother-in-Law.
Happy 4th of July to you and your American readers – I love that dress for Brooke. She is so beautiful.

Happy 4th Janae!! Today I ran in the local 5 mile race. I got 3rd woman overall and won my age group, plus I PR’d! It sure made me hungry for the amazing spread of food we had – my favorite being the broccoli salad!

Reply

No race this weekend, but I do have a 10 mile run planned!

That dress for Brooke is adorable!

I had a really nice day hanging out with my dog today. We went walking, I went for a run, and I cooked up a burger on the grill for dinner. We also watched some fireworks over the river by our house.

The best thing I ate today was the roasted broccoli I cooked instead of the french fries I had originally planned for with my burger. I’m addicted.

That dress is adorable.

Happy 4th! Hope it was great. I was working all day, but had some delicious food while there!

I adore the dress that you got for Brooke! So cute :)

I did an 8k race on the 4th and set a new PR!! Woot woot! Followed by a delicious lunch and party/grill out. Best thing I ate: smore’s bars that I made! So good! Hope you had a great holiday!

My little brother works for a school and was trying to show off for the little kids by swinging really high. He was parallel to the ground when he “just kept going”. The swing broke. Luckily he wasn’t hurt, but he has become the running joke around there!

love that dress! I am far behind over here….
